I have a 60hp single tune and it dumps smoke if i floor it. I don't like to do it though, rolling coal is why we have dpf and def now

For Cummins trucks the egr was introduced when the 3rd gen models came out in 2002, the dpf was added when the 6.7 came out in 2007.5, and the scr/def was added in 2013.

It's terrible for the motor
I had a 2008 F-350 with a 6.4 l diesel for a while; bought it used with about 50k on it. No DEF needed, thought it was a good truck.
Nope. In the 8 years I owned, I had to:
Replace the oil cooler twice because it clogged with grit in the cooling system (which requires taking off the cab and disassembling most of the motor). Apparently was caused by factory defect (casting sand left in the motor).
Replace the radiator
Replace the turbos (twice)
Replace calipers in rear (twice)
Finally, replace the top half of the motor(cracked). Result of all the overheating problems and punching it getting on the highway? Or not; who knows; the truck had "snooze mode": when it overheated, it would automatically cut the fuel and barely do more than idling.
Second time replacing the oil cooler, took it to a diesel truck speed shop, and they chipped it and changed some other things, in order to get more HP at the same mileage. I did get more HP; I think getting on the highway I could reach 65 mph in around 5-8 sec. starting at around 25 mph (didn't time it). Probably rolled coal when doing that; didn't notice.
But I stopped punching the fuel because it obviously wastes it, and so for what, to save 5 or 10 seconds getting up to speed? And there is a downside: to get the motor diagnosed with a computer, you need to go to the same shop; inconvenient if an hr. drive away! Up side was they put in another loop in the cooling system upstream of the oil cooler with a filter you can change; no clogging after that.
Rolling coal on purpose on a pedestrian or bicyclist is basically an assault, and should be prosecuted. Not much different for yelling stupid shit or throwing garbage at people; reflects more on the "dooer" acting like a toddler than anything the other person seemed to be doing -- usually just minding their own business, but driving a "woke" car or bike?
I have a 06 6.0 powerstroke bought it bone stock 4.5 months ago with 95k since buying it I did the hot an cold side piping s&b intake xdp intake manifold 3 core aluminum radiator crankcase reroute an getting it studded an removing the stock turbo an doing a s369 with 225 injectors an a fast lift pump an going to do all new headgaskets an see how far I can take the 6.0 an just how much the block can handle!!

With ford the first powerstroke was made in 1994.5 which was the 7.3 liter but they slapped a turbo on it. 2003 was the last year of the 7.3 because it wasn't "complaint" with the standards back then Then came along the 6.0 with egr coolers and all the restriction stuff
I just bought a 2001 7.3 f350 with only 70k miles on it. I LOVE IT. I purposely looked for a 7.3 when truck hunting
Emissions system has nothing to do with rolling coal. I have an LB7 tuned to 550rwhp and you will see nothing out of my tail pipe. It all has to do with the tuning. Hire an amateur tuner and you will have lots of unburnt fuel rolling out your tail pipe, aka: black smoke. That's what it is, unburnt fuel, wasted. Hire a professional to tune your truck and not only will it make more power than the amateur's tune but you'll get better fuel economy too.
This is a great way to get a screwdriver shoved in your radiator…

ford started some egr on 6.0 and the 6.4 was when they started with the dpf filter and more egr stuff and the 2011 6.7 was when they introduced the def

The bare basics is: dump more fuel in than it can burn. Having a giant turbo with a lot of turbo lag can also help (check out the "Smoking Alcos"). Of course, all that black smoke is literally money spewing out the exhaust as unburnt diesel. A lot of emissions stuff might have to be bypassed as well (federally illegal). So, looks neat, not good for the air, and not good if you're caught.

Where I live it's a violation of the city code to do this in the city limits. It carries a $526.00 fine. It's defined as a "public nuisance ". Same thing for no mufflers.
If you want smoke you need to find a low boost fuel tune.
You achieve the sound desired by feeding the intake tube 100$ bills and actually putting quality parts in on and around your engine trans and every drive components cuz big power cost money. Do the hack big speaker, play UA-cam loud of someone else’s nice ride haha

Its the dudes on 22s and 33s with the 100hp tune without changing anything on the intake. That are why shops are getting fined and the EPA are all over us.

My LLY has egr still(deleting asap), it has a old cts tuner and the truck is straight piped other than 1 small muffler and I can put the tuner on stock and the truck will roal coal fairly easy

Company in Iowa just got a million dollar fine for selling mods
For Ford the 6.0 was the first with a egr cooler and egr valve for emissions of that there were two generations 03-early 04 had a round egr cooler where 04-07 had a square one supposedly solving egr cooler failures, cracks, and clogs… after that was the 6.4 with a dpf and yet again and egr but this time two coolers one being located on a slant across driver front cylinder head and other sitting just above the manifold on the driver side. Lastly is the 6.7 which is equipt with def, dpf and egr systems in order to be compliant

Cummins 2010-2011 got dpf, egr they got it around 06 with the new front end style.
They got the emissions stuff in mid 2006 when they released the 6.7 Cummins
2010 6.7 does not have def
