Never, ever go into wild animal territory unarmed !

@@mikeprice4103 Not knowing when and how to use your firearm is as bad as being unarmed.
Better yet, stay away. It's not your property, you have no business there, and the few people who live there are armed and don't want you there. Idiots who like to hunt from their trucks or just wander are not often under surveillance, so that in case anything happens, fire, looting, vandalism, poaching, you will be sought by the police. .
Californians are not allowed to defend themselves. No bear spray allowed. They don't want people to hurt the mountain lion's feelings.
What’s crazy is they were separated. So one wasn’t looking out for the other. If you’re focused on looking down, the other person should be focused looking at the wildlife. They would’ve heard a bear come up on them, but a cat is stealth. He probably didn’t see it until it was on him.
That is sooooo sad for the younger brother.... Prayers for strength and a full recovery
Not to mention the one who was eaten.
I love animals and nature dearly. Gave up hunting for sport years ago. But I WILL NOT go into the deep woods unarmed. If anything, for the two legged critters, as well as the four legged ones.
Stumble upon a Cartel grow you be muy muerto.
So agree never trust animal that eat meat.
20 years? I remember an article about missing people along a jogging trail and someone finding human remains. That was way more recent than 20 years ago.
Irrelevant...it was not a mountain lion attack
@@mia1shooter what was it then?
@@danielharvey595 the jogger died of dehydration and the corpse was ate at by different predators. Why don't you first do research before making an ignorant comment?
I think you should get off your high horse. If you and I were face to face, I guarantee you would have found a nicer way of saying that. As a matter of fact I know you wouldn't have said it at all. You keep taking your anger and frustration out of that keyboard. I'll keep laughing at insulting comments like yours. BTW it's eaten, not ate.
@@danielharvey595 i would have definitely said what i said face to facem..what would you do about it?. Ignorance is like a cancer. You made a dumb comment and you got called out for it...deal with it, and learn from in.
Friday I took my son and my brother out to lyttle creek forest here in So Cal. my brother looked at me and asked why do you carry a firearm? I told him 2 reasons.
that #1 is to protect my son and myself at all cost from animals or humans. he said what about #2? there is no #2. my sons life and my life are #1.
A mountain lion was in the mountains????
I know. Crazy huh. I would assume they would be in the ocean.
People are in the mountains???? Humans have at least the same right to be in the wilderness as any animal.

@@TheLilbigBlack just pretend you dont speak English and You're here illegally, you're allowed to do anything you want then.
R.I.P.
I'm guessing the mountain lion was starving, diseased, rabid, or extremely territorial... Rest in peace
It's spring- baby time.
I wonder if there were cubs nearby.
It was a male mountain lion, they do not protect cubs, only females.
This is why I told my husband don’t be roaming around at his daughters house in California. Because they’ve spotted mountain lions up there and they will attack you.
Did you also warn him not to drive, and stay out of the cities? They're more dangerous than the woods.
I lived in Sacramento, and read a story about a mountain
lion running around the vicinity where I lived. There was
a pet cemetery that it ran through, and I used to park my
car there when the apartment complex worked on the
parking surfaces. I would not doubt that the mountain lion
would not hesitate to put a few pets into the ground had it
wanted to. Strange that I looked it up, because I live across
the country now, and of course it would not make my local
news.
Firearms have many uses when your life is on the line.
I'd rather the mountain lion live. Stay out of their territory and you will be fine!!
What if it's a rattle snake bite?
@@deborahthompson6248what would you do if you’re in a forest with a bear behind?
And in that rare moment when your life IS on the line, the democrats say you get ten shots only.
@@disastermaster1413I never go anywhere with a bare behind. I always have shorts or pants on.

In nature, "we" are not the apex predator.
And now you get a cookie.

I am. I'm bad to the bone.
Without weapons, we're rarely the ape predator.
As unfortunate as this is, the title makes it seems as if the the M. Lion was roaming the streets when the attack happened.
So sadly 😥 😔
I've never understood people who go into the wild unarmed? Heck i wouldn't go unarmed if it was just people much less with the wild animals
I don't understand people who go around people unarmed. Far more people are dying from attacks by humans, than attacks by wild animals.
This is so terrible. My heart goes out to the family 😢❤
And some fools believe it a good idea to bring back wolves and grizzly bears. OK by me as long as you release them in city parks.
Wolves aren't a big deal attacks are very rare and they're timid of humans bears are insane completely fearless of people and crazy aggressive and hostile. They like to eat people alive bears are a bad idea
Whenever I go hiking in the wilderness, I always carry a firearm just in case.
These cougars are wild!
Sue the State for removing your constitutional right to protect yourself with a gun.
I assume you don't live in California
I don't think mountain lion attacks are all that common and I think they're rare actually
Mountain lions are much, much rarer than humans, on the brink of population collapse in so cal, they have lived here for longer than humans, their lives have value, very much hope no more mountain lions are killed
Not true. Mountain Lions are designated a least-concern species by the IUCN, indicating low risk of becoming extinct in their natural environments in the near future.
The World with peace, unity, integrity and love, watching from berbera somaliland rep,,,
All the more reason to allow open carry (of firearms).
Just wait till the wolves get settled in.

How terrible ! I wish they were more careful .
Poor animals.
They are trampled into smaller environments, and then get killed.
Well, a humans life is worth more than an animal’s.
I guess they weren’t “poor people”?
Nonsense.
@@a3300000If a human's life is worth so much...then, uh, maybe stay out of needless danger? We like to think we're worth so much but some sure don't act like it.

God be with their families. It’s gotta be extremely hard for the surviving brother.
Now alot of people are going to call for these beautiful animals to be killed. I lived around giant cougars for 7 months with just a single shot .22, never had to use it once. These attacks are very rare and can happen to us with any apex predator. They deserve their own spot in this world away from us.
👍
Probably the two very young brothers were not aware of presence of lions there.
Damn jacked up two dudes ?
🙏🏾
It's better to not run ....... but you will want to. Run you die, stay and fight you may die.
How do you know they were running?
Hey them Lions GOT TO eat !!!
Still can't understand what the lion did wrong
Nothing.
WOW so sad
These tragedies are hard to reconcile if at all so will let others speak to that. To others who say this was lion territory, I suppose that's true but was shocked to hear of this and know I lived on Reservoir Road within walking distance of Georgetown in the early 1980s. And even then I considered it fairly settled; rural but lots of homes and must be many more now. Still in the Sierra foothills. ...
I now live on a remote Montana farm and on the day this broke, I had just returned from checking a suspected lion den less than a thousand yards from the farm complex. "Remote" is not an exaggeration. I flank Custer National Forest with prime habitat; only other humans are on a cattle op 3 miles away. This place has been in lion territory since 1883. Livestock losses but no human injuries but you have to carry a sidearm even if mowing grass due to the rattlers ... or anything else that can appear. (Except the bears; don't shoot at them unless you want to die.)
I don't expect a couple kids to carry weapons but the older one could have. At the very least, carry a long staff and BEAR SPRAY which works ... very well ... on anything with lungs. Don't rely on tiny jogger mace. Manifesto ends.
So sad
🙏
HUMAN recreation SHOULD NOT BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN NATURES BARELY GETTING FOOD
Let me guess, you’re on your 50th booster and wear a mask in your car?
Outdoor recreation is what funds wildlife protection. Hikers, fishermen and hunters do more for wildlife then you ever have.
Until we become food. We have at least an equal right to be in the wilderness as any animal.
So they went to the cougar kitchen, thinking they won't be par of his menu 🤔. If you going into to those while areas, what do you expect to encounter, a baby cat, or puppy? That is why call wild, so there only lives dangerous wild animals. and nothing else.
All these keyboard commandos "I'd a had muh gun. I'd a be safe" First off you would have to pull your gun out of your holster. Then you would have to aim your gun at a vital spot on the animal. Then you would have to pull the trigger. Then you would have to hope for a fatal wound. Cats are incredibly fast and sneaky. He/she would be ripping your throat out before you even had you gun halfway out you holster. It's not some African safari were the lion is in some game preserve in some open grassland 300 yards away so you can take pot shots at it when it isn't even expecting you to shoot at it.
The 18 year old was attacked first, and the 21 year old jumped in and started fighting with his hands. Do you really think that was better than pulling out a gun and shooting the lion?
Poor kitty, teased with food then murdered.
leave that kitty alone... get out of cat territory
Kitty? Are you like 10 years old?

We have at least as much right to the forest as they do. If you are Darwinian it's called survival of the fittest. If you're a creationist then may I point to Genesis 1: 28-30.
Another reason to carry a firearm
Like a gun is going to save you if a wild cat attacks you. If you think a gun is going to save you, stay out of the forest.

@@AFloridaSon maybe so but a mountain lion died bc two idiots decided to tread where they shouldn't have
i seen one in person in the crafton hills near yucaipa, their hiking trails this was relatively close to the base of the hills maybe 1 mile or so into the trails near the creek bed i saw a mountain one time. no it wasn't a harmless encounter, it was roaming around looking for someone or something to go after. i walked across the trail ahead from bush to bush through the road. at that point i turned around and went home. also this was in spring time, for some reason the crafton hills in yucaipa the wild life is alot more dangerous in spring time, more snakes and killer bees that chase you. even the lizards are more aggressive breeding and chased after me to protect its wife or babies, etc.
im estimating the mountain lion there drank water from the creek bed is why i saw one near the creek bed.

So sad. Praying for the family...
The worth and dignity of a soul is measured by what it delights in! And delight/happiness is our highest desire.
Men have killed to have it. Kings have gone mad trying to find it. Wars have served it. Affairs have worshiped it. We all seek it.
Sadly, billions have died without discovering its secret... namely, that joy is not an it, but a He.
The Gospel is the good news that sinners can delight in a Holy God. It's the good news that all of our deepest desires are satisfied in the ONE who sent His Son to bring us to Him. .
God is so valuable and so satisfying that the most loving thing he could do for us is to make Himself gloriously indispensable. He is the only being in the universe for whom self-exaltation is the highest virtue.
Therefore, God's commitment to be glorified and our goal to be satisfied are not at odds but come to simultaneous consummation in the worship of His Son... who took upon Himself the Wrath that God had towards us in our sinful disregard of Him. A wrath that could never be appeased through man-made religion.
Jesus didn't die to turn the world into a paradise, he died so that we could stop seeking paradise in the world...
Temporal things such as beauty, popularity, money, sex, racial identity, gender reassignment... can never truly satisfy. BECAUSE WE WERE MADE FOR SO MUCH MORE!
We were made to gaze intently into the Eternal Beauty of a majestic King, Father, and God... meet Jesus the Christ.
Life is hard, God is good, Glory is coming
