So it finally happened, robots are taking over
they're computerized, so only since the 90s...
And she'll take your job 😂
That not how it works. The jobs "lost" simply move to another sector, in this case the development, programming and maintenance of these robots instead of manual labor.
@@longdongbongchong they are not being trained to do those jobs ..
@@Createshareandgive what are you talking about?
tip a robot no way
I've been seeing a few restaurants like this that have robot waitresses. It's honestly not an alternative to a waiter or waitresses. They especially don't work well with people who speak multiple languages or with slang or a quip in their speech that they can't help.
excellent points
Rosy doesn't have to pay rent.

They don't get sick but they could break.
So basically the customer buses their own table and sets the table with their food themselves.
Yea I know. Eww. It's horrible just horrible. so below us
@@acgillespie Takes a job away from someone.
@@acgillespie it is horrible… but it’s not “below” you.
@@claireconover LOL Are we sure?
For shy people, robot service workers are heaven sent.
That's a shame
Failed opportunity to program it to say "Kiss my grits."
There was an episode of Alice where Mel got a robot to wait tables!
Unfortunately a lot of people won't get the reference.
Great. While Rosie works, you can stay at home and figure out how you’re going to earn money to pay the rent (particularly if you live in the Bay Area). Keep smiling… 😬
This is *not* a good thing. You may think it is, but it most certainly isn't.
Why?
JUST PAY WORKERS A LIVING WAGE
Why? If you can use robots
Tips?? Why tipping ?
you’d be tipping the chef, dishwasher, etc… so the restaurant could further save money by cutting their wages.
@@claireconover for sure I’ll be tipping if the tips goes to the chef, etc, but I think they will go to the lady who is doing nothing by adding or removing the plates from the robots.
Government is losing employment and income taxes. It won’t be a cheap alternative once government starts taxing their use and activity.
also, how much will the repair work cost? will they need an IT guy?
When my father passed away employees from his bank and grocery store came to the wake. I was so touched by that. It really meant so much to hear such nice things about my dad from strangers to me. Society is taking away all the good. People are not as social anymore and it's really sad to watch this happening. Hardly anyone sends letters, cards and postcards anymore. Those were the fun things in the mail. There's ATM machines, drive throughs for many different businesses, pay at the pump and self checkout lines. Everything is so different from even 10 years ago.
It's a good idea until it breaks down that you can't fix it. Just pay your employees!!
Theres not a labor shortage
That’s already being used in restaurants in foreign countries.
It’s not new in California either. They have been in some restaurants since almost a decade ago
We've had these in Korea for years
Same here this is just another one. I think the first ones in San Jose were a decade ago
😂😂😂 great job California….😂😂😂😂😂
I can honestly say that I am sure thankful not to be living in the state of California, this CBS news report paints a good example as to why. Ask yourself this question, why should we commit to allowing our taxpayers dollars to be invested in senseless electric toys like this that have to complicate everything? Just look at the electric cars. We continue to live in a world now where everyone relies on the allure of "convenience" instead of doing things with manual efforts.
Tipping a robot. No thank you.
Does it spit in your food if you don't tip?
I would go to school to learn to repair robots...that's the future..
NO, BOYCOTT IDIOCRACY
Rosy doesn't still your credit card info😂
… someone WILL find a way to use rosy to steal a credit card.
Great idea! Won't ever give you a bad attitude.
So the jetson robot is finally here
Rosie doesn’t need tips.
All the workers have left California
As long as it keeps prices low. Kura Sushi doesn't have that problem at least
It's already using in numerous countries
Waste of venture capital. Thumbs down.
Waitressed for a few years. I like it. I can seat 5 tables, take orders, and have Rosy deliver drinks while i make salads and appetizers. If you could program to deliver drink refills with table kiosk request and be able to send special requests like sauces or extra napkins, that would be worth weight in gold. Im not too sure about having same robot pickup dirty dishes and mixing clean entrees/drinks at same time.
Awesome! No more tipping, more unemployment! 😂
We need more unemployment to push down inflation
@@portcybertryx222 no, we need to pay people more so more people have money to spend in more places.
@@portcybertryx222 interest rates need to go up another 2-3% before that....

I saw this on an old episode of Alice and it didn't work out too well. That said it would be cool if that robot got mad and said "Kiss my grits!"
How does she clear tables with no arms?
I mean it's terrible work.

Cute story. Itay is the best.
I will never eat at that rsstaurant
It’s like Japan!
Are we trying to create more homeless people?
Oh, oh! There goes you job😢
i ain't losing my job to r2d2 or c3p0
Bye,Bye jobs😞
Fast food employees get paid to much to mess up my order and give me an attitude. I welcome the robots.
maybe you should try working in a fast food restaurant… because they’re barely paid.
@@claireconover they get paid twice what i got to pour concrete
@@SgtJoeSmith then maybe you should be more concerned with your work and not trashing the work of others.
“pouring concrete” is a hell of a lot easier to automate.
Nope. Id leave.
same here.
They have these in japan and theyre great! A lot of restaurants there have tablets where you can order food from which makes it easy and if you need help theres a call light button. This would save money for the business and the customers by making food a bit cheaper and not having to tip. Japan doesnt have a tip culture unlike the US.
we have had those tablets for ages.
nobody likes them. I personally hate them.
if I saw that and a robot waitress, I’d leave immediately.
also, in this country you would still be asked to tip… they’d cut the wages of the chef and dishwasher.
heres your $20 an hour minimum wage.
and customers who prefer human interaction will avoid that restaurant… in an era where fast food and fast casual dining is technically already in decline.
also, this robot might actually guarantee raised wages. nobody’s going to go to an expensive, formal, luxurious restaurant…
… to be waited on by cheap robot.
Kinda sad you think having people serve you food counts as ‘human interaction’ .
@@claireconover better than a waiter that reaks of cigarette smoke
When humanoid robots come down in price, we'll be seeing them everywhere. They get more advanced every year. Boston Dynamics' robot is humanoid but its joints rotate and voila, it's facing the opposite direction. Real freaky looking. And no wires and hydraulics anymore. That was the last generation. People had better wake up because robots will be taking over our jobs as soon as they're perfected, which won't be long.
I don't mind robots doing the dirty work for us, without getting tired or having a mental breakdown - go robots and AI
