Thank you! It was nice to enjoy a peek into your life and so refreshing to see that you were just being yourself.
I really enjoy that you enjoy your favorite foods often, it's takes the pressure off for decision making and it removes the pressure to bring in variety.
I love how you cook for your family! Then you cook for yourself. So, everyone is happy!
I adore your chicken cheese quiche crust!!! Great idea for people with nut allergies like me! Thanks again and God bless you and your family!!!

So interesting to see what others are eating in a typical week~ so much the same for many of us I think. I love the quiche idea, & I've a tip for crispier pastry crust, if you're interested. While working out a crust recipe for hand pies/calzone/pizza etc, I discovered that drying out the chicken first makes for a better texture, imho~ crispier, which I truly prefer. I can also enjoy the softer versions, of course, especially if I haven't the extra time for the drying step.
*Simply spread the cooked, canned or even raw ground chicken on a baking tray & pop into oven for 20-30 mins, stirring around a few times. The moisture will escape as steam, then I go on to mix up the dough as usual, after cooling the dried chicken a bit. Another tip is to mix in some crushed pork rinds w/the mozz & egg white only, which adds to the structure & crispiness of a pastry as well.
I also make my own meat flours, both beef & chicken, which are wonderful for making all kind of things. Sometimes use plain or flavored protein powders as well, or in combination with the meat flour. Lots of possibilities, to be sure. For a busy mom such as yourself, I imagine a couple of prep days a month to make such things would put you ahead, if your schedule allows & you have a mind to, of course. Easier for me, being retired now. =)
Thanks so much for sharing, and for inspiring me to get on with trying lamb. I've not ever had it, since it was not available where I grew up & lived most of my adult life. I do now have access, but for some reason have it in my mind that it will be gamey or musky somehow. Not sure where I developed this thought~ maybe from eating a bit of a greek gyro once, & really not liking it at all. I'm sure actual lamb chop or cubed lamb shoulder is another thing entirely, so I vow to stop being such a wimp about it. I keep hearing how much people love it, so I'm determined. =) Thanks again~ just came across your channel, new sub here.

Brilliant! I’ll have to try that! I’m not fully carnivore yet but trying. And you’re such a help. I made browned butter the other night and poured it in one of those silicon molds. I’ve been eating little browned butter “truffles” for days and they’re so delightful! Thought of you when I made them.

I buy braising steak from Asda or beef shin from Sainsbury’s which are really affordable and done in the slow cooker they are so succulent. I’ve been to the Himalayas a number of times and the local people drink butter tea made with ghee and this has been their fortifying drink for ever.

    • @largefamilymama
      @largefamilymama  2 місяці тому +2

Slow cookers are so great for making meat tender, I use my pressure cooker a lot too for the same reason.
Wow I’m so intrigued to know what tea tastes like with ghee in it now 🤔 might have to try it 😁

You should get an egg steamer. They are less than $20 and such a gamechanger. You will never boil them on the stove again once you try the steamer. Its amazing, and they peel so easily. I just found your channel as I am going to be trying this lifestyle to turn my obesity around, and ive gotten a lot of great information from your content. Thank you!!

That sounds great but I have a tiny kitchen and not enough storage for more gadgets, I wonder if there’s a way I could steam the eggs in the instant pot 🤔 I shall have to investigate. Thanks for the tip!

I always cook eggs in the instant pot. I place the eggs on a rack, add a cup off water, 4 minutes on manual, then quick release. They turn out great!

14:43 you should try kefir from sheep milk...it's amazing. more nutritious than the one from cow. Also because the type of protein in sheep milk (casein A2) its more suitable for humans than the casein more most of the breed of cows. Have a try.
I normally in my breakfast mix some sheep yogurt with sheep or goat kefir + butter and a pinch of sea salt...and some times 1 or 2 poach or boild eggs

Yeah the Christmas season is definitely a tricky time to start!
Everyone finds their own way of what diet works best for them. I’m not at the stage where I can eat fruit yet because if I have anything slightly sweet my sugar cravings will return and I won’t have any self control, for me it’s easier to not have anything sweet whatsoever. Xx

Great ideas again. I was waiting for this video. I love that you gave chickens. I dream of having them but logistics and other things stop me. I buy them from a Regenerative Farmer from Amish Country in Pennsylvania that delivers weekly to my house in NJ. I also get raw milk from them or when I visit my parents over the bridge.
As for steaks there are sales at a store I frequent and so that is when I buy them. They mark down a day before they "expire".
I need to be brave to try lamb to change it up. I also do not like minced beef all the time (in USA called "Ground Beef").
For dinner I have leftover ground beef with eggs, heavy cream,,cheese, and Mexican spices to change it up. So like a casserole or quiche without crust. I want to try your recipe too.
Thanks again for a good quality video. I like that you lower the music when you are speaking (after editing).

never heard of quice with flour. Only use eggs with veg & meat/onion etcc. Bake 40-50 min ❤- o you mean proper quice 😅 Here in our country lamb is sooooo expensive- love it though- Christmas & easter we have lamb. Steak is also expensive but not as much as lamb. I love roasts and biltong ❤
