Even though we’re empty nesters, this is the time of year we need to be outside working in the garden and yard. Having a week of dinners prepped would be a great time saver and enable me to get more done outside. Thanks, Mindy!!
Oh, I understand! We spent most of the weekend outside working! And we don't even have a vegetable garden, just some potted plants and basic yardwork!
You are not alone
LOL.
It’s just me (8 months pregnant) and picky 4 and 5 year olds. I’m realizing the large family meal ideas I’ve been watching for years are NOT what I need to be replicating (it’s absolutely disgusting how much $ I have spent on groceries!) but also realizing I need to eat good “real” food even if I’m cooking it just for me (the kids have their safe foods/meals) so these easy, comfort food style & not massive quantity recipes and ideas you share are SOOOOOOappreciated!
Oh god please do not call your kids picky eating habits "safe foods". That's a term for describing eating disordered habits so it's just strange. But also you're basically enabling their picky eating with that mentality. Like us it really unsafe for them to try new things?
Two adults here. I just divide each meal into 2 containers. Same time and effort for 10 meals. And a few leftovers.
A tip for faster roast potatoes: cut them small and microwave them first so they partially cook. Then rough them up so the edges are fluffy, toss in oil and salt and into the oven. Fast crunchy roast potatoes!
Can’t tell you thank you enough for all your hard work. You make my life so much easier! Please keep being you!! Bless you!
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! :)
I love the idea of valuing time as much as money! I'm super impressed by what you got done in just about an hour!
Thanks! It was a race, but we got it done! 😂
I definitely want more of these types of videos from you! I like doing meal prep prep so not like total meal prep but getting stuff ready to cook on the day kind of like what you did here, makes life so much easier
Great idea using the dip for chicken sandwiches. Thanks for sharing! 🌺 Jen
You are so welcome! it's one of my favorite shortcut meals! :)
I try to cook for the week on Sundays. The oven is on once and the food is ready to warm when we eat it. I work full time outside the home and go to school part time. It makes my evenings less stressful.
Great job, Karyn! It takes a lot of organization to do that, I'm sure your family appreciates it!
Awesome Video I watch my grandkids every day 3 right now and when schools out we have 5. I try and prepare meals on the weekends for next week to make it easy. I always have them for breakfast, lunch and Dinner once a week for sure. So I really enjoy today.
Oh wow! You are a busy Grammy I’m sure!
I don't always leave a comment. But, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the content today! I like the budget videos but I also like to see regular meals without budget constraints and all of these meals looked amazing.
Thanks, Angela!
Thank you! Since watching your channel, our household=zero food waste! I appreciate your ideas so very much!
That tip for mixing cooked chicken with a pre made dip is genius! Definitely doing that this summer :)
Right on TIME! We're beginning our busiest season of the year and this will help us exponentially! Thank you ❤ Mindy, you rock!
So glad I could give some ideas! :)
The meals look great! Remember that you can zest a lime to stretch the flavor. 🎶
Good tip!
I've gotten in the habit of zesting citrus before juicing. I Freeze the zest for other recipes and uses. Very handy!
Thank you! I need this prep in my life. My husband and I have both gotten promotions and have zero time! ❤
Great job banging out five yummy dinners for the fam in less than an hour!!! The Thai peanut sate looks amazing!!! I love cilantro-lime anythng, so I def need to check out that marinade - I know if you like it, I'll like it! :)
Thanks for the quick recipe ideas!! Definitely a few keepers and to have them all prepped is a huge time saver. Would appreciate more videos like this!
Very efficient use of your time. Loved that you inserted the video of the plated meals. They looked awesome. Do you have an idea about how much you spent on the week of meals??
I don’t remember exactly, but I wanna say it was around 70-80 including all the meat, extra veggie sides, convenience items, and a few other things I ended up not even using for these meals.
Love all these meal ideas- I’ve made a similar pizza pasta bake from a recipe I seen online but it didn’t have the white sauce and it also requires ground beef- I like this recipe more cause it looks more budget friendly ;)
Perfect timing, finishing up my meal plan, and monthly grocery list.
Thanks for watching, Alma!
@@SeeMindyMom you're welcome.
Hey Alma, I’m the eldest son in a house of 3. I’m trying to help my mother meal prep to take some stress off her busy life. Do you have any tips/advice for a “monthly grocery trip” please and thank you 🙏🏿
I am loving your recipes! Even tho I am one person, I like to prep and freeze...never have tried skirt steak! It looks delicious!
I love the cream of chicken & wild rice soup. Publix also has it a couple days a week on their deli soup bar, but most times when I go to get some, it’s down to the bottom of the pot.
It's one of my favorite things on their menu.
Interesting! I'm actually making the copy cat panera wild rice and chicken soup for meal prep next week! It's been on my Pinterest feed so much I've been compelled to make it lol
Hope you like it!
I'm now very inspired to meal prep. 💙 All these meals looked so yummy!
This was one of my favorite videos from you! Definitely going to use these ideas next week. Thanks, Mindy!
Glad it was helpful!
I loved this video! I love meal prep and seeing family dinners like this! Can’t wait to try some of these out! Thank you!
Pretty sure you are a genius!! I am soooo inspired to try these!! We'll done Mindy!
This is so helpful! Would you consider doing a video similar to your one on what order to buy the spices in- on what order to buy cookware/bakeware in? Like what are the most used staples and then what is less used? what sizes of the various pans do you have and what does that translate to in like... a single batch or double batch of dinner, etc?
Six sisters is great for batch cooking and freezing meals to make ahead of time
I love, love, love this meal prep! So many great recipes. I am looking forward to making each and every one of them. Great ideas! Thank you! Love from Texas ❤
Finally a realistic meal prep 😀
I've been looking for that chicken Panera soup! Thank you for sharing it again. I'm going to try these easy to go prep meals. Yummy! Have a great week! 😊
Have you heard of using a hand mixer to shred your slow cooked/ instapot meat? It's so easy and fast!
Great video Mindy!!! They are all good, and this one is outstanding 😊
Yes I do that too glad I am not only doing stuff like this for meal prep and have our weekly meals in fridge too ❤❤❤❤
This is such a great idea Mindy ! I wish I had done this when I was raising my kids and working full time ! What a time saver ! Your recipes look delicious ! I will definitely try these out ! Thank you for all your hard work Mindy !
Thank you.
Love that Panera soup! I am going to have to try that recipe!
Hope you like it!
I can’t wait to try the chicken salad
fyi, you can keep fresh ginger in the freezer and grate it right from frozen
Thank You so much for helping us with all your tips!
Thanks, Stacie! Glad I can be helpful. :)
This is well done. at the stove +other kitchen time is tough on household as warmer weather comes in.. thank you.
For potatoes, you can cut them ahead of time and keep them in water until you need them. That's what I learned working in a university cafeteria. 😅 I'm not entirely sure if the cooking time is decreased, however. Thannks for the ideas!!
Thanks for all you do. Gang gang
Look at her go with diversity, love the Thai coconut recipe youh made
The gnocchi is a game changer! Why didn't I think of that!
FYI unlike most oils sesame oil has a nice strong flavor that would make a Huge difference to a sauce or any dish really.
Thrive is amazing!
Also, that Lesser Evil Himalayan Gold is life!!
I’m about to have a baby this is so perfect for me thank you!!
Made your chicken and rice from last video, was devoured by family! Thank you for that, going to try the beef skirt sheet pan right now. Have a great weekend!
If I had it to do again, I would probably slice the steak up and then put it on the Sheetpan. Just an idea.
I was able to get a free membership for Thrive Market as a school teacher, plus 10% off 12 boxes. Thank you for turning me on to them. I got my first box, and am excited to have more budget friendly options for better quality food.
Camping time is almost here and we always struggle with what to make for lunch that is not just lunchmeat sandwiches ....Going to save the dip and chicken idea in my notebook so can have something different
Great job and all the recipes look delicious!
Thanks so much! 😊
I love your glasses!!! 🤩
Thank you!!
There's never enough ranch on those veggie trays 😢 🥕🥦🌶
I'm impressed, short amount of time for all the meals.
Thank youuuuuu! And I just love your eyeglasses. ❤😊
Wow you're my hero🎉😊
Thank you for the good, easy, and healthy ideas
Thanks, Robbie!
Mindy and family have a great day have fun thanks from Oklahoma
Same to you!
Love this idea.
Thank you for the video!
I wonder if you could use canned whole potatoes for that steak/green bean sheet pan meal instead of the potato gnocchi?
Yup.
I wanna try that soup!
Thank you for making these videos, they are incredibly helpful! Random, but what do you use to style your hair? I think it looks great!
Can you tell us the temperature for the steak sheet pan recipe?
This is a good one!!
The recipes looked delicious! One question: I’m always worried about leaving raw chicken in the fridge for too many days since it can go bad. Did you make the raw chicken recipes first during the week? The same with the raw meat…
You look ve tu pretty here. Very Neutral colors and you inspire me! 😗
What temperature do you cook the steak sheet pan meal?
Wonderful video and ideas as always! Also credit to your camera man (or woman)😊
Great job Mindy!
Thanks!
There is a service called 5 dinners in 1 hr. I was on it for a bit and learned a lot like eat your seafood and chicken dinners 1st and what ones you could freeze if something came up. But also learned some cool sauces and what not. I do things like this alot. Sometimes it's even just put the meat and sauce together and in your fridge makes it all nice and yummy when ya go to cook it.but I was not a fan of doing all 5 at once then but that was before grocery pickup becuz shopping and then prepping was exhausting lol
Oh that's so interesting! Yes, prepping the meats for cooking makes them super flavorful because they marinade longer. :)
What temperature do you cook the steak at???
I want to try the skirt steak sheet pan! What temp did you roast it all at?
I think I roasted it at 400, but then bumped it to 425. If I had to do it again, I’d slice the steak before marinading it and roast everything that way together.
I’m fairly new to your channel and I really enjoy your videos 😊
Thanks so much!
I always look forward to your videos
Thanks, Sarah!
Yes it's better I'm cooking go 4 days it's better
What temp for oven on sheet pan steak and potatoes?
Thank you! 2nd year teacher here and Sunday is usually the only day I have enough energy to meal prep so this was super helpful!
Great meal ideas
Thanks!
new to your channel
Mindy what temp did you roast the skirt steak dinner????
425. I wish I had sliced the steak before hand though and roasted it that way.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, Darlene!
Great ideas
Thanks!
Wow!!!!!
I loved this video
Thanks so much, Patricia!
Awesome
Thanks!
Thanks for another great video. Question about the rice. Is it a special quick cooking rice? Or would any wild/brown rice mix work?
The recipe specifically says the box kind. So I stuck with that. :)
cool
I am going to make them they look amazing thanks😊
You’re welcome 😊 Hope you enjoy them!
Mindy where can I get those 9x13 pans with that pop-in lid?? Thx
I think that one is just from Pyrex. I’ve had it a long time.
@@SeeMindyMom I’ve just never seen any like those before where the lid only covered the opening.
Sent you an Instagram message.
How did the soup taste, looks good?
It was REALLY good! I ate the leftover the next few days!
I tried the great value gnocchi and it tasted horrible like plastic. Has anyone else had this same experience?
❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I always enjoy when Mindy calls something a "thingy-ma-doodle."
awesome
How did you all like the Chicken Satay?
How could I love this more??!??? Great ideas!!!
Thanks so much, Christina!
Thanks so much for the inspiration. Would you mind sharing your Walmart order total? (Sorry if I missed it, if you already shared that)
