Well...that wasn't exactly what I expected. This isn't over, A4! You hear me?!
Good news, though - I have a new hpfp piston on the way! Looking forward to showing you guys some better numbers soon.
Yeah that is sad. Hopefully the 034 hpfp piston works have one on order also after getting 3 bad autotech pistons. Need to go get dyno'd with the efr was making 320 whp and 380 ftlbs torque on mustang dyno with the k04 and all stock internals, hoping we can exceed that with the efr without fragging the engine (still all stock internals)
@@billbilicki7327 all that with stock internals? 😨. Dang you must have a factory freak of an engine
@@FlinkFilms lol Tyler testing the limits
@@FlinkFilms He's racing space x to mars. Tyler is gonna see if he can put a piston on the red planet first.
@@robsp32 😂😂😂
I'm actually building almost the same car. I have bigger exhaust and intake valves. I also have 83.5mm racing pistons in it with 700hp rated rods. I also have racing bearings and racing rings. I also have Snow-Performance water meth hooked up. I have also have a egreen 70mm throttle body put on it. IE racing intercooler. I have talked to Tyler and once I get Parts he said get ahold of him and he will do the tune. I'm hoping I can get it up to 650hp.
Hey it's Garret. Thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to getting your Audi back on the dyno after the fuel upgrades and seeing what she can do!
Well done man! 300hp at the wheels isn’t that horrible. Especially with a fuel system that isn’t up to the task. Fuel makes a HUGE difference as well as tuning. Can’t wait to see more
if he could put e85 in his car he would be adding an extra 40whp easily
@@zweitezl5225 so all this for 340 whp?? lol should've just gotten an S4
@@FnGRZupra ye
@@FnGRZuprathe b8 s4 has 280 whp. This car makes more to the wheels than an s4 does to the crank

Hey Chris, that intro and your reactions at the dyno were great! And I have just been enjoying the videos and didn't realize it's been 2 years, and those numbers are not bad all things considered, way more than any car I've ever owned 🤣🤣 Great content as usual Chris, can't wait for the next video!!
Not bad dude. You are running with stock type R's thats a good place to be.
Awesome to meet you in person man!! World of wheels was a ton of fun! Hope to meet ya again. The build looks awesome!
I feel your pain Chris. Hopefully with the new hpfp helps crank up those numbers. Thank you for continuing with this journey!
Loved that intro. Also 300 isn't bad. Still is fun to drive
Love your videos Chris. 306awhp isn't bad. You built the motor, blew it then built it again for it to healthily get on the dyno and drive itself back home. Only way is up from here brotha!
Keep it going 👏🏾
Hell that was impressive to me. Job well done!
Don't be sad, the gratitude is wen you drive it ill be fast off the line💪😉
Crazy! I never anticipated that fueling would be an issue with the bigger turbo kit. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I can't wait for your HPFP upgrade to come in. I went with Ward for my K04 and now I run his flex fuel tune. Easily the best thing I bought for the car
Edit: can you share the links where you got your fueling upgrades?
Here’s the 034 one I just ordered after sending back the autotech one. store.034motorsport.com/034motorsport-high-pressure-fuel-pump-piston-upgrade-kit-2-0tsi-2-5tfsi-3-0tfsi-supercharged.html
The injectors are just mk7 golf r injectors you can buy from fcp or ecs
@@FlinkFilms Appreciate it!!
I'm not hating. Car looks good, is fast and can be driven every day with a beautiful interior. Girls will still get in and hang out. That's what it's about.
I was just thinking about you the other day. hoping for a reliable and fun 2022 for the audi
Not bad without a hpfp upgrade. Water/meth injection kit to mitigate heat soak?
Edit: That intro was golden! Awesome vid as always!
Wcf is up with that stash my dude.
Making it home after the dyno is an achievement with those motors 😅. Definately loads more left in it once fueling isnt the limit. Not sure if E85 is avaliable in your state, but that or water meth can help loads with IATs and bumping up timing.
Well I just got a CTS 500 boss kit for my B8 A4 and I think I might be the only one to do it with a tip tronic, specially not the 8 speed, the 6 speed, I’m going with Tyler for my tune and I’m excited tbh I don’t know what to expect but crazy enough Tyler and I live in the same city, and I just got the 034 HPFP, let’s see what happens 😀
Sooooo? What happened. I wanna do this with my avant
Not bad man iv been following your build ,I just finished mine I also built my motor,
id recommend the cts intercooler if you need one, running it on my ko4 a4, and it has been amazing thus far
wagner racing intercooler the biggest and best for the b8
That intro was killer! lol. Nice work!
Finally! Also great job on the info.
That intro was hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥
another great flink film
I thought about 300. That's not crazy low. Chris it didn't blow up. I had a 2.0t and they are are not a platform to stress
Torque is what is fun. Your cinematography is great
I followed you most of the way and it's a great car. Looks great and runs strong
This sure makes me wanna vr6 more and more
2.7t just ordered 😈
You deserve more subs amazing shit bro. Been watching since the beginning and I love the car
Keep your 4 ways off in those conditions especially unless you're going 45 or under in a 70 or you're completely stopped. Trust me....we can see you without flashing your 4 ways and if we can't, that's a sign to get off the road entirely. They're intended on letting other drivers coming up on you slow down and potentially get over a lane. Most commonly when truckers are going up steep grades pushing 80k pounds gross or more at speed as low as 15 mph so cars don't ram into the back of them. Never meant for cars doing road speed or anywhere close to it. I see cars do this and I've been trying to figure out for the life of me why. I'll hear other truckers on the CB radio stirring up hell whenever a thunder or snow storm comes thru because of 4 wheelers thinking flashing their 4 ways does somethin. Been operating heavy trucks for some time and just passing that on. Good video.
I've spent more on less 😅😅
Can't wait to cruise with you again!
You own a Subaru? Haha

@@jonathandecker8970 haha I'm Garret from the video. Not sure if you were commenting on his post on Facebook, but I was saying Subaru is the highest dollar per hp out of any car I've seen.
And the Oscar for the best leading actor goes too…….Chris Flink!
I DONT KNOW
Loved the intro🤣🤣 no worries with more fuel that bad bish will rip🤘🏻🤘🏻
I see the potential of upwards of +80-100hp with fueling headroom (hpfp and injectors) to accommodate E, probably on the same IC, maybe I’m being optimistic.
I have yet to see a good dyno without good airflow, hood was down and didn’t even see the “shop fan” queued up.
Regardless, these would be impressive KO4 pump numbers (without the help of octane or cooling enhancers) and we know a good KO4 can max out this fuel system.
Said another way, and Flink mentioned this, this is within +/- 10% of this fuel systems abilities, and no one should ever expect to extract good numbers with this turbo without upgrading fueling.
Fans were running at full speed. Plenty of air flow. We've done tests in house with hoods up and down, and besides with top mount intercoolers on Subaru, there's little to no change.
Well done! 💪🏽💪🏽
What about them numbers….. so just how many horses 🐎…. Yes another very slick video…,
Man that is pretty low. Especially for the turbo and built motor BUT you need the fuel. If you’re doing a new FMIC throw in the Grams throttle body as well. Enjoy it!
Only found out about the build now but it is incredible, I'm currently thinking about getting a B8 just wanted to know what engine you acc have out of the 2.0 tfsi because I'm going to get a 1.8 and do a full drivetrain conversion for insurance purposes (young driver in the UK, insurance can end up costing more than the car)
Im still staking these vids. 300whp is a good baseline. Also is there any need to upgrade the in tank pump or throttle body?
At the moment we’re getting everything we need out of the stock in tank pump and tb. If I was going with something larger than the boss500 I think changing the in tank might be necessary, but at that point you’d also probably be looking at adding port injection
@@FlinkFilms I sent stock in tank pump (lpfp) to Deatsch for testing. Results may surprise you.
@@billbilicki7327 🤔🤔🤔
A new filter couldn’t hurt if you’re on the OG LPFP…..or do I remember that already being addressed?
@@jlallroad4629 I actually replaced the whole lpfp assembly a couple months ago. Just didn’t film it
Here we go
You ever think about running port injection for the fuel needs.
How much boost was that at btw?
Bro 300hp for a street legal car is legit 👌🏾 once everything comes in I'm sure you'll see a huge jump. shiiiiiid I wouldn't even stress it also the rebuild is solid g just go full send, you have to trust the machine shop guys did an awesome job and trust that you put everything else back together awesome as well, and as far as we can see it's still running so why not go full rere 🤷🏾♂️.
I'm more curious about 0-60 and ⅛ mile times than hp. I have 3 A4's, 2 1.8T (one stock and one full bolt on) and a 2.0T B8 with a IE stage 2. None have seen a dyno and I base everything off time!
We've got a draggy, and can stimulate 1/4 mile pull on the dyno
run 12.3 qtrs and 7.8s 1/8th with the k04-0064 in my b8 avant iirc correctly best 0-60 was 3.6 something
@@billbilicki7327 how’d yours have that fast 0-60? Mine is also K04 and best was 5.3s
@@coopercoldwell my B8 is stock turbo with a IE stage 2 tune and other than a better air intake no other supporting mod and 0-60 was 5.0, that wasn't draggy but just a shitty phone app so...
You gotta use dyno for tuning once you hit this stage in a b8 2.0t trust me flash Tuning won’t utilize my ported heads or bottom end also will make way less power TBH I recommend dyno tuning at any stage B8 2.0t BC flash tunes are not powerful for these platforms on my opinion most Flash tune won’t let you rev too or past 7k rpm which is sad😢
Very nice video!!! I run with the stock turbo and stock internals 300hp stage 1
GET THE WAGNER INTERCOOLER BROOOOOOOO you will not be disappointed
What fuel pump piston are you working with? Is it the new 034 piece? Also interested what intercooler you're looking at. Some guys on the Audizine forum are running a Treadstone TR8 and seem to like it. I'm leaning towards the CTS Turbo 600HP FMIC kit myself. I'm not on a big turbo like you though, just 034 Stage 2 lol.
I have a 06 A4 2.0T what would be the best upgrade turbo to get?
What injectors are you running???
Have you done cylinder compression test? How’s oil consumption? 300whp on BOSS500 is really disappointing. Something must have gone wrong somewhere.
Did you not watch the end of the video? It was a really dialed back tune and stock fueling. Nothing went wrong
@@FlinkFilms I’m just saying the engine is bored out, fresh rings and pistons, and even with stock fueling and ‘conservative’ tune, should push more than 300 or we would expect. Not trying to be a downer on your amazing journey. You’ve achieved something every car enthusiasts want to do but haven’t seen any video talking about how healthy this built engine is, what boost the turbo is pushing at the moment, all that details. Hope we get to see more of that.
Dang!! My APR K04 is making 380hp. Cant wait to see it when you get the fuel stuff done.

Hey man! Thanks for the content! You mentioned you were going to be putting Mk7 Golf R injectors. I have a 2015 A5 that's almost identical in build. I'm about to put a HPFP in and I was told we can run 2015+ S3 injectors in. Are they the same as the MK7 Golf R injectors? It's been a nightmare trying to find more information regarding this. Will fuel make an additional 75?
Hey man I’m currently at the same point as you with my build. I just put 8V S3 injectors in my engine. Let me know if you end up getting a p0087 code for fuel rail pressure being low. I’m currently experiencing this after the injector swap.
Did you load on a new tune specific for the injectors? Because you’ll continue to get those codes if you don’t. I have the mk7r injectors now but needed Tyler to tune for them
@@FlinkFilms hey man, no I was just testing to see if anything went wrong during the install and then this popped up. I figured this was a problem and I haven’t had the car tuned yet. Didn’t wanna take it to the dyno until I figured this issue out. But if the injectors themselves are causing this issue I’ll go ahead with the dyno and I’ll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the info man.
What spoiler do you have on the trunk?
I just got my hands on a clean unmolested 2015 a4 s line quattro(38k miles)...but its an automatic... 😔... however im new to i4 motors...so why not...

How hard was it to get switched over to WPTuning
Normally it's very easy, but it does depend on what software you have initially. Stock, no problem. But some tuning companies, like Unitronic or United Motorsport, lock your ecm and require you to use their hardware to revert the car back to stock. Most companies like this provide a dongle so you can flash it yourself, making it a non-issue. But I had United Motorsport originally (they don't provide dongles), which caused a whole annoying process I had to take care of off camera with the help of multiple people, including Tyler, but eventually got it flashed back to stock. Other companies, like IE, don't make you jump through hoops like that - I helped a friend get setup with WPT a few months ago and it went 100% smoothly because he had IE software. So, for the most part, it's not difficult at all, and using HP Tuners and working with Tyler at WPT is extremely easy. My situation was really unique, but I'd still recommend WPT to anyone with a B8.
I love your series! I have a b8.5 quattro with the tiptronic transmission. I was wondering if you knew which intercooler you were going to buy (so I can buy it too lol). I know you are not like an audi engineer but you seem really knowledgeable. I was looking through forums and can't seem to find a lot on the flex fuel b8.5 like mine. Do you know how the fuel system changed from your b8 to the b8.5 flex fuel system? I know one can run flex fuel lol and the other can't, but I want to know if I'll have to upgrade my fuel pump and injectors as well. Keep it up! i probably only make like 210-220 at the wheel with 91 so don't feel bad your ride sounds like it's fast!
I don’t think you need to change too much to run flex fuel in a b8.5, but not entirely sure. Something with the ecu on b8 models that keeps them from running full e85, but that’s about as much as I know on that subject. There are a lot of options for intercoolers out there. A lot of people recommend rev9 since it’s about the best bang for buck fmic upgrade. I’m going with the IE one because their fds technology seems promising. That and a giant silver intercooler behind the grill is hot 🥵
@@FlinkFilms ah okay! Sounds good thanks for the advice!!! Can’t wait to see where you take your build :) hoping mine can be as cool one day!
Stock s4 numbers with the price of an s4 you’re not doing too bad.
💪🏾💪🏾
I missed a few episodes so I might be missing some information. Don’t want to sound rude but 300 seems super low to me. I’ve got a ko4 car, way less of a built engine and my car is making around 330 with a Apr chip tune. I feel like bigger turbo and fully built with an actual tune on it should be making a lot more power… I might have missed something where you still haven’t changed something on the car that’s limiting it. But everyone seems to be thinking 300 was a good number… I was thinking big turbo fully built was going to be like 500-600…
Like I said in the end of the video, fueling is the limit. K04 setups already push the car close to its fueling limit. So no matter how big of a turbo you put on the car, it will only make as much power as the fuel system allows. And, as I also stated in this video, the tune was on the safer side for this run, and the fmic is clearly not helping with iat. Plus mustang dyno. So, all of those factors combined, it’s not much of a surprise really. I’ll be heading back there with all of these issues addressed to get new numbers soon. A working hpfp piston upgrade, mk7r injectors, e30 fuel, and better fmic. Should all make quite a difference
300WHP on a mustang dyno is not bad
Do you have HP Tuners transmission tune?
It’s a manual, so no transmission tune
At this point I feel like I should stay with a IE stage 2 with some bolt ons and make 300hp to the crank cause even a K04 I think it’s a waste, with that amount of money or even less if I put it into a B9 S4 or RS3, easily on the 500hp range if not more and both one the 10s 1/4 mile and 0-60 in the 3s so like… 😓
Nah. With a $450 intercooler he'd make more power. He's getting power robbed with that ECS IC. It's good for K04 on pump gas OTS tunes, but when you start getting into custom tuning and bigger turbos is when it starts killing you.
Save up for a 2015 A3 2.0t... They go 11.9 stock turbo on 91 and 11.5 on E85
Get a Rev9 intercooler and throw that one away.
I'm pretty sure that man hasn't showered since the beginning of the pandemic
WTF? Can get that on the stock turbo.
