    I have a 2020 model. There are places where I hunt in the upper peninsula of Michigan where you just can't get in and out of without one of these and Polaris does an awesome job with them, in my opinion. Of course, I can understand the want for higher snorkels, but, so far, the stock ones have done just fine for me.

    As a 2020 850 owner, I don't find not having power steering to be an issue. In the mud or in the woods.
    While it's good advice for you to say it's a very specific ATV, I would beg to differ. I trail ride, plow, and do mud. I've ridden 220kms across NS on it and have 2000kms which is mostly trail. The only time I despised the ride was a 3-4km stretch if the worst logging road washboard bumps I've ever seen. Other than that, it feels like when I put radial big horns on my King Quad. If you've had that setup, this is slightly better because Polaris seats are supper plush.
    Excellent honest review though guys.

      So you have an 850 highlifter? That doesnt have power steering? I trail rode this one a tiny bit and regretted it. You cant just compare it to itself... you have to compare it to a proper trail ATV on the trail. And when that comparison is made, the highlifter is terrible.

      @@pavmentsurfer13 I also have an Alterra 700 XT, had an 18 750 KQ, and before these a small 300cc swing arm. The Alterra is the only power steering ATV I've owned, and my personal opinion, it's not my preference. I feel like I'm missing a connection with what's going on. But in any case. I've put 3000kms in the 300, 5600 on the KQ, 3200 on the Alterra, and I have about 2200 on the HL. And I only started riding in 2018. Most trios are 100kms avg with about 2-3 that are 220+ kms.
      And honestly, I don't mind the HL on trails. My biggest grip is being limited to 85-90 kmh, which is probably good for keeping my testosterone in check because AG tires are sketchy at speed. And really, it is very similar to how my KQ was with 26" radial big horns.
      Now you guys are used to riding trail Polaris and Can-Am's, so maybe I don't have the experience of plusher rides. How did you find the Alterra 700 XT ride in comparison to a Polaris trail ATV?

    • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
      @EC_ATV_Outdoors 3 роки тому +1

      They are not the same. The HL is better at mud. Can-Am has the longer wheelbase, which is more drag, which equals more trouble. The XMR'S tires are better on trails and the suspension isnt as hard. The XMR' also has a rad that could get coated in mud flinging in the air.
      The HL should have had a soft setting on the shocks imo. No need for throttle select as yes, you just need to go. Lastly, I know more than 5 Can-Am guys who get milky rear diff oil often from simple water crossings. You can't trust the XMR won't get water in the rear oil.

      @@outdoors-rm4jb I can only speak to my experience, and I ride with a lot of people, about 70% run Can-Am. But I'm the only Polaris and AC owner. But I can tell you this. They have water in diffs from trail riding, bad bearings and bushings fast. And you can't buy shock bushings, only a full shock. The snorkelling isn't as high as you think, Polaris is actually higher. The clearance, the advertising is a lie. The airbox, isn't air tight. The rad, doesn't come with a junk catcher, and on the Renegade it's not even relocated.
      So believe what you like, these are realities that I've come across. I'd like to like a Canadian company's product, but I just can't. What I can say though is, I've never seen someone have an engine issue with a Can-Am.
      Lastly, why do you suppose every Can-Am UA-camr has a couple $k of mods to their Can-Am's? Like a clutch kit, lifts, extra snorkelling, etc etc? Polaris's, they might extend the snorkels and put an offensive but awesome sounding exaust on.

      Weve had no issues with any of our polaris units. But due to the nature of our business, we cant test units long term. I dont believe that Polaris is any better or worse than any other brand. They just sell a massive amount more units so you hear about problems more often.

    • @benmayhew373
      @benmayhew373 3 роки тому

      Regardless of the number of units sold I still believe that polaris and can am's break down more often than yamaha and honda. I also think it's because they need to strengthen certain parts when they get over a certain horsepower/torque number. Don't get me wrong I love the looks and power and variety of models both companies offer but when a parts manager from a local polaris dealer tells me polaris = bearings etc. And he tells me he use to work at a can am dealer and can am = differentials it's time for both companies to take the time to get it right. Full disclosure, my fuel pump on my 2021 yamaha grizzly just quit so anything can happen. 🥴
