It's cool the way Gabriel Luna managed to do his own take on Tommy while still resembling Tommy so much it's uncanny.
And he actually passes as white, didn't look like that when they originally revealed the casting choices.

The best thing about this episode was that they used exactly the same song/tune omg, it was great!
Exactly, the thing that they took exactly from the game is the best part of the episode. Wish they would feature more of the music in the show.
The actor for Tommy is damn amazing, his face tells you everything while saying not much. Perfect casting, can't wait to see him in Season 2.
They might replace him with Terry Crews bro😂

As great as the TV show is and generally have been very pleased and extremely surprised! It has also made me even more certain that the game is one of the greatest masterpieces ever created!

Fun fact, the voice actor for game Tommy was in the HBO show as Percy, the guy who had his head ripped off in episode 5 by the Bloater

@@GeekFurious No way you played it if that's the conclusion your coming to. The show does well for the framework it operates within. The emotion you experience in this short format was built up over many many more hours in the video game and thus hit way harder than show as a medium ever could.
None is better, both excell at different things. And honestly, that’s a pretty big achievement for the show, was expecting it to be kinda mid but so far, I’m loving it so much (just like the game, I’ve played that like 4 times)

Same, but realistically they haven’t tried to adapt much of the game play into the show, so it’s been constant. Plus Joel’s fall is unrealistic for real world physics.

Yeah that really threw me off, thought they were going to start shifting round the timeline this episode but had forgotten how different Jackson looks in the first game

Inspired? They fleshed the story out more. And they cant be inspired cause the same writer/director is working on this show too
Now I’m very certain that nothing can beat video games. Video games can give you something that you can’t get anywhere else.
You become more connected to the characters. It's like walking in their shoes, seeing the world from their eyes. No show or movie can give your that experience.

One slight gripe... in the game he fell on the spike and had to be pulled out from it since he had no choice... in the show I'm... not really sure why he pulled it out there and then. Best to have waited or... maybe they could have had it so as he retreated on the horse it fell off?
We were screaming at him not to pull it out!
He was going to be riding on a horse, bucking up and down. Leaving it inside would have scrambled his guts - this is probably the only time it would have been acceptable to remove it lol.

@@morty7705 story aside, they could hide somewhere at the uni and got him patched up, not ride anywhere. There was some medical equipment, so it would be reasonable to do so. At least would make more sense than pull it out and risk bleeding out.
Don't get me wrong, Pedro & Bella are doing great...but Troy & Ashley cannot and will not be outdone.

Personally find myself loving the show representation more than the game. Either way, it’s fine to like what you like. No need for all the negativity, this is the best adaptation of a game ever and people are still complaining.

Bella exceeds Ashley in some scenes (Henry's death) and Asley stays the best in others. Both are delivering an incredible performance.

Know they can't put everything from the game into the show but does feel very hurried at times. Funny they made the effort to have some actors look very similar to their game counterparts and others look nothing like them.

Druckman is a great storyteller - the show deviates from the game perfectly, and gut-wrenchingly
There's no need for overrating a certain form of art. What we need to consider is looking this adaptation through its current form and how it incorporated the transferable artistic aspect of the former medium to the newest one, just my opinion.
