if Ellie does end up being the cure, I'd love to see an epilogue where the cordyceps is cured and humanity is trying to repair itself. maybe from the perspective of an adult JJ, or Lev.
@@cocob0l0 i agree, it would feel like it was wrapped up too nicely. naughty dog wouldnt do a "happily ever after" ending, specially cause of how they approached part 2 - killing off joel
Neil was so smart when deciding to have Ellie raise Jessie's baby. Imagine ellie not being able to look at her son's face without being reminded of the person she got killed by going on that quest of revenge. I think in the third game she needs to overcome her guilt to be the parent that was taken from her
I would love for TLOU3 to be about Ellie finding meaning and worth in her life. Understanding why Joel decided to save her and would do it all over again. Having her move on towards a better purpose (not sure exactly what). If you’ve seen Vinland Saga season 2, I would love if it went a similar route as that.
I need Ellie to have a near death experience where she sees Joel and tells him she forgives him after becoming a step mom she understands and they fully reconcile.
@@pixel8ted the fact they never adressed this bothers me. After becoming a mom and seeing what it was like to have a child she never once said to herself “this is what Joel felt for me”
I’ve been saying this. Those days arguably shaped the characters we see in both games, would love to see them survive & get to the start of the first game.
Pretty much a prequel you mean? I'd be down to that. Like it taking place a few days after Sara's death & the brothers are learning to survive in their adventure.
The last of us story has been about Ellie from the start, I can’t see a 3rd game not focusing on Ellie. She’ll learn dying isn’t the only way for her life to have meaning… I think your pitch for the story was great, I had thought many of the things you pitched myself with Ellie & Abby.
Neil said himself this is the story of Ellie! I've heard some say they think the game will have almost no Ellie in it, but that makes no sense to me either.
the first game was about Joel.... sure we played as Ellie for a chapter but even then it's to show us the impact Joel has had on her. Failing to understand that Part 1 is about Joel is honestly fucking hilarious in the year 2024.
@@pixel8tedtoo bad Neil isn't the only writer for Part 1 (and proved that he doesn't fully understand the nuance brought to the story by Bruce Straley) with how he handled that god awful hbo adaptation.
@@brotherbrod No it was about Ellie. that comes from the creator & director, we played from the perspective of Joel for the majority yes but the overall story was about Ellie’s immunity & being a potential cure for the world, in Neil’s own words he said they were building this new heroine in Ellie & this is her origin story. Joel was a fundamentally important part of the story, you play through his perspective after all but overall it was Ellie’s story. That comes from Neil so if you have an issue with that take it up with him.
Once everything is wrapped up, I'd love to see other completely unrelated stories told within the universe. I think Seattle was evidence that entirely new factions with radically different ideals could easily exist. The universe is so rich and dense, and the possibilities are endless, well beyond the core narrative
It’s awesome because despite having seen so many locations and met so many people/factions within these 2 games, there’s still so many people and places that we haven’t met and visited in this world yet. What’s Europe like? Japan? Mexico? While I doubt the series will ever take us there, it’s intriguing to think about
Maybe what could work is a dlc that goes with the game, like left behind, that focuses on Joel and Tommy during early outbreak. That’s if Tommy has a major role in part 3.
That's possible! I could see her coming in thinking the plan is one way, and then it takes a turn, and then she swaps sides due to what the fireflies do!
Ellie has no idea that Joel killed Abby's dad. I think they left out that information on purpose so they can bring it up for the 3rd installment. Also, it feels a lot like part 2 was set up for Ellie and Abby to face-off against the rattlers together - but I bet they decided to save that for the 3rd game too (the idea of fighting together I mean)..
Actually Ellie does know....when they were at the theater Ellie says to Abby....I know why you killed Joel....he did what he did for me....Nora told Ellie why Abby came after Joel
@@Gaymergirl69X I thought that too but she thinks its because of what he did to the fireflies. in the commentary Neil Druckman said.. "Ellie doesn't get it" when she says that line. I didn't know about the Nora ting though
@@Gaymergirl69XI think Ellie only knows that Abby killed Joel because he took away the only chance at a cure, not because Abby’s dad was the one that Joel killed
As much as I understand your idea of forgiveness, I think Ellie has already forgiven Joel. She was going to give him a chance until he died. And she fulfilled that forgiveness vicariously by sparing Abby. It’s because she’s able to forgive someone like Joel that she’s able to do so with Abby.
If Part 2 is Ellie’s fall, then Part 3 needs to be her rise, and given everything she’s gone through I think it needs to be about her finding her own meaning, for herself. Maybe similar to K’s character arc in BR2049? Whatever direction they go, I’m sure it’ll be amazing.
What I think part III will be about: 2 year time jump from TLOU Part II, Ellie is still in the process of redeeming herself and restoring her relationships with other people, Jackson has expanded and has become part of a network of communities in the western United States, who run a large jointed community of settlements, the infected are mostly gone, and the world is slowly recovering, the people, however, aren’t. Ellie has decided to return to Jackson, and after people learn of her immunity, she has become a pariah in her community, Abby and Lev have found the Fireflies, and are working on a cure for the Cordyceps Fungus, learning to make a strain that can kill off those taken by the virus, they are still at war with FEDRA, and have many splinter groups devoted to wiping out their enemies and the infected to solve their problems, rather than restoring the world. A very large splinter group, calling themselves something like the New Precinct or the Settlers have been engaged in a war with FEDRA for a number of years, and have brought the war to places near Jackson, the game is about Jackson and the Fireflies protecting themselves from this ongoing war, the game ends with Ellie and Abby being forced to fight side by side against FEDRA and the Splinter Group, and eventually coming out on top, Ellie faces an injury in a final battle against the leader of the splinter group, and when nearly dying, has a vivid vision of Joel, who she finally forgives, before being healed and sent to a hospital, in the hospital, her blood is used to create a medicine, which is tested on her, removing the cordyceps from her bite wound, and from her brain, Ellie returns to Jackson and many people there have begun to accept her again for her selfless actions to protect them, her relationship with Dina is finally healing and Tommy has been able to recover due to the resources donated by the Fireflies. Time skip to 5 years later, Ellie is back with Dina, and Tommy has repaired his relationship with Maria, The infected have been practically eradicated, as the cure has been released, making people immune, Ellie has also met with Abby, they talk out their differences, and understand that they will never be able to forgive each other, but express regrets for what they put each other through, leaving each other on good terms and with closure, Ellie, Dina, JJ and Tommy visit Joel and Jesse’s grave, and Ellie says some final goodbyes, ultimately expressing that she understands why Joel did what he did, and realizing that she still cared about him, even if she couldn’t excuse his actions, and she understands that he made the decision of the human instinct to protect your child, she carries a now fixed watch with her, and leaves the graveyard with JJ, similar to how Joel was with Sarah, and the game ends with Ellie being happy, being able to live a normal life with her family and friends. The title screen changes from a run down, makeshift home on a street near a relatively empty farm, to a well kept street, with a field of wheat where the field was, and most importantly, people, going about their lives, there can be a rare time where you can see Ellie in the background, just going about her life, she’s happy, living in peace, The End.
Nah sounds gay I got a better idea, in fact I’m gonna work on the story and try and make a deal with naughty dog and see what they think of my story for last of us part 3
In the end of TLOU2 Dina moved to Jackson and Ellie left to go find her. I’m not 100% sure how long the time jump from her leaving and her returning is but I’m assuming it’s at least a few weeks or a month. I think that when Ellie finds Dina she will have found someone new and creates a huge conflict because she’s moved on from her, a conflict just like between Mel and Abby. I think If part 3’s main theme is about forgiveness I think that Dina will learn to forgive Ellie.
A prequel game where we see Joel and Tommy during the 20 years, during the early stages of the apocalypse, would be insane. A year one game would be cool to see - especially Joel's life after Sarah... Also, a Tommy solo game would be great! I really wanted a Yara and Lev DLC where we see their time on the island just before they left the island.
I totally think that will happen. Tommy can't really fight anymore, but I think you will play as modern Tommy dealing with the grief of Joel, and seeing flashbacks of his time with Joel and what they did. I think it could be really cool! Either that or they find a way to put that in Part 3, but I think it'll be it's own game.
A Tommy prequel with the falling out of him and Joel with frequent flashbacks to him and Joel would be awesome. Would be cool to see what happened to Ellie or Abby too.
Something the show did that would be a very cool feature for the next game was the roots on the ground that alert infected to where you are. Imagine while you’re sneaking around with infected in the room, you have to also watch out for the roots. If you step on one, not only do the infected start attacking you, more infected also come to your location. Obviously not a whole army like in episode 2 of the show but maybe like 4 or 5 extra ones. It would make stealth more engaging then it already is.
My idea is that Abby will find Ellie for the fireflies and the series will end with Ellie making the choice to give her life to make a cure. I never really thought that it made sense that Abby's dad was the only one who can make a cure, there has to be another doctor alive somewhere and maybe the new fireflies found them.
I know that’s what she wanted but I honestly don’t think she’ll ever do that otherwise Joel will have died for nothing along with so many other lives taken
I like this EXCEPT I think they should have ellie chose to sacrifice her life for the cure but then they can do it without killing her. Her life has meaning, I don't think she should die at the end
i’ve had similar ideas, abby and ellie would make such a great duo in this way! i love your idea of ellie living to an old age then offering herself over and truly finding her meaning in life is not just to provide a cure! damn there’s so much material for them to work with
For real I don't get when people always want to push this bs about Ellie calling Joel dad, it feels like the most unnatural thing ever speaking character-wise and would sound like a dialogue straight out of a poor fanfic
Why so many theories hardly ever includes JJ as a central character when it comes to imagine a sequel ? JJ is the full embodiment of the legacy of part II, his name is a fusion of two peoples names incredibly important to the narrative and characters, Joel and Jesse, a kid born not long after real traumatic events for Ellie and Dina, and bearing the initials of the two peoples names they brutally lost : Joel's death, that started the whole bloody quest for revenge, and Jesse's death, who, in the end of this quest is killed as a collateral victim, consequences of this whole vendetta launched in the name of justice. It serves as a demonstration on how Ellie and Dina put a real significance behind the name of JJ and how he embodies the lessons they've learned from their mistakes in going for revenge. Interesting dynamics could emerge between them as he grows, like, how Ellie is going to transmitt her life lessons and experiences to him, how Jesse's death might play a role in Ellie's guilt, raising a son who has no father because of her bloody vendetta in part II. About forgiveness being the theme of Part III for Ellie, forgiving Joel IS already the story of part II : In the last scene of the entire game, Ellie remembering her last conversation with him is a reflection on how she finally managed to forgive him at the end. It could also foreshadow how Ellie is hoping to potentially try and rebuild her relationships with her loved ones, the hope for Dina to forgive her. She learned the cost of unresolved issues and grief can have. Because what also motivated her rage in part II was that her and Joel were in bad terms when he died. She felt like he died not knowing she still loved and cared for him despite her bitterness regarding his actions. Ellie lost Joel abruptly, and couln't stop it, the way she should have died suddently in part 1 : she now gets what the idea of her dying in an unfair abrupt death did to Joel back then, as she litteraly lived Joel's fear in part II, and has integrated and finally understood why Joel made the choices he did. In addition, her, as an immune individual, realizing she isn't the solution to the world's problems and doesn't have to bare on her shoulders its salvation in a quest for a cure, is also something she already integrated in the end of part II. In her journal in Santa Barbara, she drew the Rattlers logo, and underneath, wrote : "Scars. Wolves. Fireflies. Fuck all these groups ". Ellie is grouping the Fireflies with other violent factions like slavers or cultists. It's an indication that her view of them has greatly changed during the game. In Part III, we could see her completely reject the ideology of the Fireflies, and also FEDRA. She has realized the futility and hypocrisy of these ideals of another time, and she now refuses to conform to expectations that do not align with her and many peoples' reality.
I honestly wouldnt like it if the 3rd one dont have anything to do with Ellie, the 3rd one should be with her and not without, ive seen comments that maybe it could be her finding redemption which i would love to see, but id actually like it to be not only that but also Ellie finding out that the fireflies are still very much alive and that more are being recruited, and once she finds that out, thatll be how we would get a start of another adventure in the 3rd game.
Hear me out. Tommy is the only one left of Joel's family still alive (by blood.) in the first game, Sarah dies, Tommy is helpless to save her. TLOU2, Joel dies, Tommy is helpless to save him. I wouldn't be surprised if TLOU3 started with Tommy and showed him dying.
Abby and Lev (and maybe an army of Fireflies) march toward Jackson. Maybe Abby finds the logs that the Jackson Scouts leave and discovers Ellie’s motherhood, and that’s what leads her to leave the Fireflies to warn Ellie. I can definitely see her taking shelter in the lodge where she killed Joel and being overwhelmed with regret.
I think Abby/Lev have to track(Abby's tracking ability becomes a mechanic perhaps) down Ellie to offer her a second chance at undergoing the surgery via doctors at Catalina. Ellie is roaming around trying to help survivors make their way to Jackson which is her way of making her immunity mean something. Antagonists could be the normal things, but additionally maybe some of the Fireflies(maybe a small cult lead by someone who cracked because of what happened at the hospital) have nefarious intentions for/toward Ellie and her immunity.
It’d be nice to see Tommy’s perspective that was missing in pt 2. And some nice flashbacks of him and Joel when they were younger and even with his daughter would be cool.
WHAT I THINK IS what will happen is that Ellie said before in the first game that she is waiting for her turn because she had many friends that have died because they have been near her so I feel like it’ll be her turn this time, and the story will end with her passing away or maybe her choosing to not live anymore and gets killed by something or someone
I don’t know where Part III will go, but if I were to venture a guess, this is what I as a fan would see: Abby and Lev found the Fireflies and have been working with them for a couple of years now. Their numbers have grown and they are trying to find another possibility for a cure to the Cordyseps Virus. Lev accidentally lets it slip about Ellie and the Fireflies demand that Abby help them find her. Abby says “No” because she doesn’t want to open that door again due to the pain it caused her. The Fireflies use Lev as leverage to force Abby into helping them. Lev escapes and decides to persue Abby and get to Jackson in order to warn Ellie. However, Ellie is not in Jackson as she never went back. Ellie couldn’t deal with the pain of losing people she loved anymore, so she went off by herself and now no one knows where she is. A lesson that Ellie will have to learn is that “Joel gave her a chance to live. So Live!” Part I: Love Part II: Hate Part III: Life
Another thing Neil said was that the concept he has, has a through line between the other games. I think that through line is love. Part 1 was the unconditional love between a parent and their child, part 2 was justice/grief for the ones you love. So part 3, whether it is forgiveness or redemption or something else, will connect by love. If it’s forgiveness, maybe it’s a simple as forgiving the ones you love or love allowing forgiveness?
I like the whole forgiveness theme, but I have a different idea for how 3 should go. I think somehow Lev and Dina's baby, JJ ( now older), runs into each other scouting on a route maybe, and help each other and become friends. Then as some time goes on, they both get captured by some group. This pulls back in Ellie and Abbey, and basically makes them work together to save them, out of love for Lev and JJ. Eventually saving them and again going their separate ways. It opens it up for more action, more emotion filled moments, and a true forgiveness scenario. It gives Abbey and Ellie motivation to work as a team, but it'll be rough, because of everything that brought them to the end of part 2. But it also gives them a chance to talk and reveal from their perspectives how their loss and grief affected them. They of course won't part being best buds and will most likely never meet again, but they will have come away with a better understanding and can then possibly heal.
As soon as I beated the last of us, part two remastered I said “hopefully there will be a third game so they can have a finale to this” and here we are I think what’s gonna happen is that there will be a another chance for a cure
10:38 you mention about part 3 is where Ellie will learn forgiveness and forgive Joel, but she already forgave him - the moment she's about to drown Abby she has the flashback to Joel on the porch. That is the exact moment she forgave him, and it only made sense to forgive Abby too - hence saving her at the last moment. It's a very powerful moment that often gets overlooked
@@pixel8ted not at all, I just feel like her forgiving Joel and Abby has been done, she didn't say it with her mouth but her actions in letting Abby go 😎 the next story should focus on Ellie finding that purpose (even though she had it with Dina & JJ) - it's a chance to find herself again whilst Abby and lev continue on their journey in less prominence - plenty of flashbacks to Joel and Ellie will be of course welcomed 😎
I honestly always imagined a TLOU game but it’s an open world. With an offline and online mode and a create ur own character for each. Starts off by getting saved by Joel and Tommy and they take u to camp (Jackson) and from there u explore every poi/ open world/and landscape. And u just do missions taking place a year before Joel’s death...idk if it’s just me but sounds cool either way😭🙌🤷♂️
it would be interesting if ellies immunity slowly started to actually affect her with age, much like how in Logan (the wolverine) his healing powers start to weaken and all his injuries dont heal properly, so in this context all ellies bites slowly manifest into something greater and she becomes what shes been destroying her whole life. It would be really tragic if ellie becomes a 'monster' but also quite interesting.
Yeah I'm on board with your idears. We need a fourth game about Joel and Tommy directly after Sahra dies leading up to meeting Tess and Ellie. Full circle.
You know what would be cool twist? A new Immune character, but as villain. And probably a new "Firefly" that Abby rebuild, since she is Dr Jerry's father and with Ellie and probably Tommy as the founding. But this firefly will not be as Marlene which only focused on crusades and rebellions, but it's about building society and community with example of Jackson Community
I was also thinking another immune character would be cool, but I didn’t think of them being a villain! That would be interesting to see. I think part 3 will need another antagonist bc Abby is no longer Ellie’s enemy. Should this new character be a male or female, and what age? I don’t think Ellie would pursue a revenge journey again so what would make Ellie want to go after them? What would make them the villain?
While I like the idea of the game tackling forgiveness. I just feel like both Abby and Ellie have done way too much damage to one another to ever forgive one another, I think there's a chance they could learn to understand one another but I'm sure if they met again, neither would be in murder mode but neither would want each other around. Both Ellie and Abby would just remind each other of something they want to move on from. Personally I think the story is going to be about purpose, it's a throughline we've seen through Part I and Part II. In Part I we followed Ellie and her purpose was essentially to die for humanity while playing as Joel who had no purpose at the start of the game and by the end of the game, his purpose became Ellie, he would do anything for that girl and she was his reason to keep going. In Part II she finds out that Joel killed the fireflies and now her purpose is gone until Joel is killed and her purpose becomes a mission of revenge. Now at the end of Part II, Ellie probably feels very empty and has no clear goal in sight and so I'd imagine Part III will be about finding purpose once again. I could be wrong but going off the first two games, I feel like this is a pretty good next step for Ellie to take as a character.
I can see that the fireflies have a doctor who that is trying to finish what abbys dad wanted to do with the cure, but they need abbys dads notes and they also need ellie. Abby appears with lev giving the fireflies hope that she has her dads notes but abby lets them down by letting them know she lost them, but that she knows where ellie is. You go back to the hospital to look for abbys dads notes and you find a secret room in the hospital with all the notes and abby finds a secret file hidding in a small box showing that the chances of the cure working are really really low and thay abbys dad just wanted this to work because he was desperate. At the end abby decides to not to turn ellie up to the fireflies but they threaten abby to kill lev if she doesn't forcing her to give up ellies location. The fireflies give up ellies location causing a huge fight between the fireflies and ellies people. A lot of people die and tommy gets badly hurt. The fireflies find ellie and take her to a hospital close by to perform a surgery on ellies brain. Abby is watching as ellie is about to have her brain dissected and she has a flash back of her father and owen telling her to so the right thing. She loses it and begins killing all surrounding fireflies and she makes her way into the surgery room similar to joel in the last of us 1, instead of killing the doctor she knocks him out and carries ellie off the bed. While almost making it to the elevator abby and lev look back at someone and tell them please don't do this and a shot goes off and the screen goes black. Once the screen comes back abby is driving with ellie in the back seat and she's driving back in a erratic behavior, and the game shows that a surving firefly tries to shoot abby to stop her from taking ellie, but instead lev jumps in the way taking the bullet in his arm and at the same time shoots an arrow through the fireflies head. You then see lev in the front seat bleeding heavly from his gun shot wound. Time passes and you make it back to Jackson, ellie awakens to pissed off that their is no cure, but is suprised to know that she's alive due to abby and lev saving her. She hears about lev and goes to check on him. Lev lost a lot of blood but abby gives him some of her blood to save him. Ellie ask why abby saved her if she killed joel for what she'd just done. Abby tells that in the end of it all joel was right to have saved her because her dad wasn't going to save the world instead he was gonna take an innocent life. She then apologizes to ellie for killing joel and to tommy for letting her anger get the best of her. Ellie forgives her for killing joel and apologized for joel killing her dad to save her. Ellie then offers abby and lev a home in jackson now that they have nowhere to go. Maybe the after credits could be a mob of people receiving orders for a mission only to show the person giving the orders is the doctor who survived is forming an army.
I think the fungus is gonna jump again, making it a truly extinction level scenario (like mosquitos as carriers). This will convince abbey and the fireflies to try and appeal to Ellie.
A long, but good read. Trust me. --- One simple change they could've done to the game to make it resonate more wit players (which is something I think they'll do in part 3 and season 2). Is that we should've played Abby's side first. BUT! It styll happens, but kinda skip over or move around the whole "Abby meets Joel & Tommy in the snow" part. Start the game wit Abby & co leaving the mansion & going to Seattle & continue up until Abby n Lev sneak into the theater. (All the while, us getting to learn who these new characters are, how they've been handling the pandemic, BUT not yet show how they link up to our characters, until we get to Abby's backstory and then Ellie's side.) But do it in a way where we don't kno who it is that's killing all our new friends in Seattle (that we think it's cuz we abandoned the WLF or something). Then, right BEFORE seeing that we run into Tommy at the theater, we switch to Abby's backstory. We see that her dad was the one Joel killed. Now we feel for Abby & everything she went throo. THEN, we finally get to Ellie's side of the story. (Yes, it would take quite a while, but this way, not knowing Joel dies yet & knowing what Abby went throo, we actually would feel for Abby.) Now we play as Ellie's story like normal. When we get to the mansion, we hear screaming and bust in to see Joel being murdered. Now we put 2 & 2 together and go "Ahh! THAT'S why Abby & co. were running away from the mansion in the beginning and tryna get outta there." Then we go on the hunt for Abby & co. Now, our emotions for Abby become conflicted wit new disdain for Joel & for some, may jus jump straight to hate for Abby. And both are fine and perfectly reasonable. Then, let the story play out how it does. It would flow better, IMO. Way better than how they did it. And the leaks... (which I never looked at myself. I jus heard ppl were laughing at a golf club for some reason. Lol I didn't get it and didn't want to get it at that time.) ...didn't help the game at all, since a lot of ppl knew what happened in the beginning. But yeh, I personally understand what Naughty Dog was tryna do, I jus think that the way they executed it was backward. Taking away the option for players to feel diff emotions. Instead, they jus had everyone pissed as we're forced to play as Abby for half the game, this character who jus offed our main guy from part 1. The way I would've done it styll gives dramatic reveals, possibly more reveals tbh, and gives the player their own chance to feel whatever way they want to about Abby & Joel, now that we already played her side, got to kno her, went throo trials wit her saving Yara & Lev. Then, finding out her dad was the surgeon at the end of the last game. Then, understanding why she wanted to hunt Joel down. Now that we have the full picture, we can feel and judge the way we want to. But don't jus take out one of our fav and main characters at the start and force us to play as the killer jus for shock value. What? Lol There's a diff way to get the same shock value, like in my version.
I definitely think it will come at the end of the PS5 life cycle, I think that's why they remastered the other two games for it, so that the trilogy will live on PS5!
@@KingSlayer_. it’ll probably come out sooner than that seeing as the show is huge and only took them 2 years to make the second season, most likely part 3 will come out in 2 years
I think there could two concepts also added here. 1)Ellie might not be the only immune, this could be explored alongside how cruel humans can be to achieve a result 2)a cure might not even be achievable and if the cure isn’t even possible how Joel’s decision could affect Ellie after realising this
I love all your theories! I think all the stuff you said is really awesome. One thing I hope is that Ellie and Abby team up and we get to explore the lower region of the US. And maybe go back to Joel’s old home in Texas? Idk but more exploration across America is something I desperately want!
Thanks man for making this video. I was having a hard time trying to figure out on my own where the story could go after part 2 and I just couldn’t think of anything but You shined a light at the end of the tunnel. Great video and thanks again.
I do think Ellie will work with Abby to make a cure, but I do not think she will get the long, full life that she wants. I think TLOU as a series will be about sacrifice more than anything at the end of the day, and the throughline between the 3 games will be "It can't be for nothing." Ellie isn't going to let everyone that died to keep her alive die for nothing, and she will fulfill what her life was supposed to do in Part 1. That's my guess anyways.
I'd be surprised if they undid Joel's wish for her like that, but you never know. It would feel like everything Joel sacrificed was for nothing, but who knows!
Good stuff man. I don't think Dina is gonna forgive Ellie so soon, which will mean Ellie wandering off for self reflection and is she ready too be a Parent. On her Travels, she see a Young Boy being attacked by some Infected, Ellie saves the Boy and discovers the Infected she Killed is in-fact the Boys Parents, so now feels she has too take care of the Boy and head back too Dina. The Newly Formed Fireflies headed by Abbey, heard there was a Young Boy who is Immune from the Virus but the Family has since moved on but a New Doctor has been found that may have an answer too the cure, so Abbey with a Team must Track down the Boy and the Doctor. Ellie still heading back too Jackson and Protecting the Boy from any Infected and Bandits alike, after one close call encounter with some Infected, she ask the Boy are you ok, he says no I've been bitten, Ellie is about too Shoot the Boy but he says wait i am Immune, Ellie says Bullshit about too Pull the Trigger, the Boy shows are an old Bite Wound, look I've been Bitten before but i haven't Turned, Ellie can see with Tears in her Eyes that she isn't the only Immune Person and right let's get back too Jackson Safely. Abbey and the Fireflies has found the Doctor and sends a Team too Track down the Boy and his Family, the Team eventually comes across the Boys Infected Parents but no Boy, they continue on where they catch up with a Woman and a Boy, Ellie knows who they are and what they are after, she Kills the Team Protecting the Boy but one of the Team Wounded heads back too Abbey and tells her about the Woman and a Boy who Attacked and Killed the Team. Abbey now goes after this Woman n Boy, not knowing it's Ellie. That is just a summary of what Part 3 could be about, I don't think this will happen tho guys lol.
I don’t understand how people think Ellie and Abby are going to meet again. They went in completely different directions and it’s a whole world out there. How and why would they find each other?
I agree with all that, but what im wondering is if there isnt going to be rage, hate, resentment, revenge, etc then that doesnt give a lot of gameplay? I believe Tommy is going to be in part 3 too. He left angry, and i wanna know whats up.
I mean the first game was about love and still had tons of gameplay, so I think that'll be fine! I'm hoping we get more Tommy in a small spin off with flashbacks of him and Joel.
Here's my take: Part 3 picks up with Abby and Lev, Ellie has finally moved on - she still sees Dina and JJ (but they're not a couple anymore). Ellie is in constant pursuit of Dina's forgiveness very much in the way Joel seeked Ellie's. Eventually another medical professional shows up who is also capable of creating a vaccine. Abby realises Ellie was the only person and they cross paths again, only this time they become friends. In the end, Ellie gets to finally have the choice of sacrificing herself for humanity. She can either die at the end In order to make the vaccine or decide screw humanity, we're the real monsters in all of this. Either way, I'm sure they'll cook something up😊
Personally im all for ellie dying but in a way that isnt tragic, it'll be sad but beautiful if she gets to finally make that choice. Maybe she'll meet with Joel in the after life and he can say "baby girl, it just wasn't your time yet" @pixel8ted
I 100% agree, pretty much all your points are completely reasonable and probably will happen. Adding onto the point I have to say I think it will be a mix of forgiveness and acceptance, because Ellie kind must have thought or be thinking she lost Dina and JJ, almost lost Tommy for a fight, lost Joel, and just accepting who she is as a person and the cure, so I think a huge part of it will be forgiveness and then learning to accept, along with accepting Abby dying for her and that people who seem bad maybe aren't fully evil people and have reasons! It's something I would love to see be leaned into, because acceptance scenes are always great and emotional. I also really want to see her accept why exactly Joel did what he did and realizing she would do that for JJ, and understand why he did it, and then forgiving him.
Going off of your theory, a reason why Abby might choose to protect or forgive Ellie is to honor her father. In the 2nd game, Abby no longer has nightmares about the Salt Lake hospital after saving Lev and Yara. This might be a stretch, but I believe that in order for her to forgive herself and come to terms with her father’s death, she needs to do something that he would be proud of. Maybe this could be a chance for her to die, having forgiven herself and being at peace (hypothetically).
One thing you said really struck me. Abbey not being able to rip Ellie from her son which would make her like Joel. She’d become who she hated My take away from The Last of Us 2 is that she already became Joel (and didn’t seem to have the self reflection to realize it). Like Joel, she met a kid and found herself willing to kill a LOT of members of a paramilitary group to protect him. The only difference is Joel killed a bunch of assholes that didn’t care about consent because they felt they didn’t have to so the used force and threats (they fucked around and found out) Abbey killed even bigger assholes but unlike Joel, she was a Judas. She killed a bunch of her comrades to protect a teenager she didn’t know. (I admire her choice but a more self aware person would empathize with Joel’s position). Yes I’ve over thought this
I think part 3 being about forgiveness is what would make sense given part 2’s concept. It would be interesting to see Neil put Ellie through a story in part 3 which puts her in a position to have to make a tough decision for someone she cares about deeply, similar to how Joel did when he saved Ellie from the fireflies, that ultimately would give her the perspective to truly forgive Joel.
The problem with the cure for me is that I cannot see an organization discovering it and not keeping it for themselves to have the edge on everyone who opposes their views on how things should be, essentially making them the world rulers. But maybe there is a person who doesn't get fully consumed by the power the cure would give them and has enough followers that also don't seek the power to rule the world... + the logistics needed in such a world to cure everyone o.O
I just want satisfying endings for all the character arcs in part 3, what happens to tommy will he ever recover mentally and figure things out with Maria, how is Dina handling the situation after the end of part 2, is she okay? I am sure we will get to see what happens to Ellie and if she has learned her lessons from part 2 but I also want closure for the "minor" characters. And if Ellie isn't pleading for forgiveness from the people she has wronged (Dina&JJ) ima lose my mind and say she hasn't really learned a thing (but maybe that’s just me as Dina was one of my favourite side characters in the game). Does Naughty Dog even do happy/happyish endings for their series?
Part 3 should be split in half. It can jump between chapters of what the first few months of the infection was like and Joel meeting Tess. The other half should be the fungus being cured and the last few months. We also need a DLC for my man Bill
Hi! I would love for The Last Of Us 3 to be about how Ellie redeems herself and finds meaning in her life too!💖I hope that Ellie has a great ending and that she gets the ending that she deserves too! I think she is the best character in The Last Of Us franchise alongside Joel and Dina!
I totally agree. I think the questions of each part are: 1. What will we do for love? 2. What will we do for revenge? (you called this grief) 3. What will we do to forgive?
@@terranncegilmore that's not the point, but if you Watch the last flashback scene of Ellie and Joel on the balcony you'll understand. I know that all the game is about revenge, but the game isn't that banal
2:45 I’m fine with this story being over with a part 3, but it would be a crime against storytelling to let the world end with part 3. Spin-offs would solve this.
Does anybody else feel like there might come a time in this game where Ellie is forced to kill Tommy? I can't see him forgiving Abby... feel like he could even be a little loopy by the time this game begins.
Your predictions are js like everything coming full circle like Joel having too much karma to live and the same about abby and how her feelings connect to the first game. It's really interesting and i acc hope they do some of your predictions cuz itd be fun to see and play and hella ironic lolll
I think Ellie has to sacrifice herself for the cure, redeeming herself for the lives she has taken. The Last of Us is really about the last of the old world, Ellie is obsessed with the old world, it would be poetic for her to sacrifice herself for the cure and the better future for JJ
This is exactly what I was thinking they would do but I'm thinking of a different ending. It's a story of atonement. Joel atone for his sins by caring for and saving Ellie. Now it's Ellie's turn to attone for the thing she did out of grief and love. Abby will find atonement by sacrificing herself for a cure and dying in that effort. Ellie will offer herself up to save humanity. Their sins are atoned for with a sacrifice and then there's finally peace. The perfect closing to a story.
Maybe there are other ways for Ellie to atone? I feel like sacrifice would be a sad end to Ellie’s story. I know Ellie wants her immunity and her life to mean something, however, there’s a high chance she’s not the only one in the world with immunity. For Ellie to sacrifice herself not knowing for sure if there’s others like her would be brave but also a bit foolish in my eyes.
Ive been building season 2 sets in Vancouver BC AMAZING BUILDS YOURE GUNNA LOVE IT.. SEASON 3 in the game is in the desert.. Season finale we just shot and wrap party is sunday night Cheerz to all the fans
I've thought this since the end of pt 2. I agree with almost everything. I don't believe Elle goes back to her family, I think she searches for Abby instead. I think she decides she wants to help with the cure and needs Abby to help her. I envision a scene in the game where those two are forced to talk about what they lost. Abby talks about her dad and what Joel took from her, and Elle talks about Joel and what Abby took from her. That talk goes a long way towards them bonding together. Not sure if Abby dies but I can definitely see that outcome. I do believe Elle dies making a cure. It would be cool to see a future after Elles death where the virus is gone.
I would say it's the 2nd game that's about Ellie's story, but the first game is as much about Joel's story, if not more so and his journey back from losing Sarah and finding it in his heart to love again after all the years that had passed since her murder. It's probably the main reason that the 2nd game hit so hard with so many players. It was never really about the death of Joel, it was about the death of the relationship that had formed between him and Ellie. Players took that journey with both of them and felt part of that bond, it was the feel good factor in all of the violence in the first game and that was taken away in the 2nd game when Joel was murdered. Which is why I guess I felt drained and nothing but emptiness at the end of the 2nd game. It all felt like nothing had been achieved but heartache and grief. A difficult game to play during Covid because it was devoid of hope.
just watched this and I think that all points made were absolutely amazing. I've seen online a lot of people thinking that Ellie will be dying in this next game however I don't think that's true and I think that it would be really stupid idea for the developers to do that, I feel like many people have a theory that the first person you play as in the next game will be the first person to die (such as with sarah in part one and joel in part two) and I feel like a lot of people think that that's going to be Ellie however I think we might start as Abby on the island with Lev and the fireflies talking about their plan and everything regarding the cure or whatever and I think overall that would make more sense as a place to start because it would also build more intrigue as to where Ellie is as this is her story but I just don't think that Ellie dying in this game would make sense unless it was at the end in a time jump to the future where she's old and she's gone back to the fireflies or whoever is now working on the cure and tells them about how years ago she promised that when she was ready she would sacrifice herself for the cure not only allowing her to live her life as mentioned in this video but also have that purpose that she's always kinda wanted to kinda free herself from that survivors guilt while also living her life but I agree with all the points made and I hope that these things can come to fruition in the next game however we don't know when that'll be or how that's happening but we can remain hopeful for the future as i believe these are really solid points that would make for a really interesting story that i feel would leave a lot of people satisfied with the outcome of this story 🙏
I thinj Abbie has been infected after biting off Ellies recently bitten finger and it will focus on Abbie dealing with the finite time she has left and what she wants to leave behind.
This was an interesting theory, but was disproven by Ellie herself when she said she couldn't infect people. She was bluffing to David, and Naughty Dog has confirmed this. Although, it would be an interesting super power!
@@pixel8ted The fingers bitten off were the ones bitten by the hanging runner were they not? So the cortyepts could still be alive in there, Ellie didn't infect Abbie the residual has.
They BETTER, make “Ellie” have a Happy Ending. She has Suffered WAY too damn much man. Just let her be at peace. So I HOPE, “Forgiveness” IS, the last Chapter.
I wrote something very similar in Reddit except I proposed that Ellie lives as a hermit who sees Tommy every so often and he brings news of fireflies looking for her. She seeks out Abby and then a lot of what you said in this.
Interesting theory, and it could be a possibility, but I think the story will be more about redemption. I do think Abby and Ellie will learn to forgive each other. I think somehow Abby is going to travel across the country to bring Ellie back for them to make it cure where they will team up for the majority of the game. I think Abby will live. Ellie will die for the cure (because Ellie will choose to so JJ will have a normal life) Ellie will be on the operating table closes her eyes when they put her under, and she will see Joel and his daughter waiting in the light for her, you will probably hear Joel‘s voice say something like hi kiddo been waiting for you (they will be reunited ) then after the credits, you will see JJ as an adult and the world will be on its way back back to normal because the vaccine worked.
I want to see a prequel where joel and tommy get to boston, how bill owes joel favors, why tommy has nightmares and why tess says theyre bad people and they have been for a long time. Joel seeing or using the map interrogation tactic and how he knew that one guy aint even hurt when they got to Pittsburgh.
Heres an idea Jackson is under threat by a new group and Ellie has to figure out who they are etc meanwhile you go in the psst as a young tommy as he and joel try and survive as hunters and why tommy eventually leaves joel so you have 2 narratives like godfather part 2 and the present story draws parallels to the past story, maybe tommy notices ellie be coming more ruthless and adopting hunter like tactics, eventually you get the ending where ellie realises its wrong to be so ruthless and thst her purpose is to defend her community rather than be the saviour of mankind reconciling with joels decision…i dont wanna see abbey or anymore fireflies rather focus on a new group and this way we can finally have a playable tommy in the last of us series
@@stickster6495 only detectives figure stuff out ? And in a world where law has collapsed normal people would have to step up to fill that role or dont you understand how society works 😂😂 as long it isnt the woke of us and they redeem the series i dont mind what they do but ive not got much hope with that neil guy in charge he literally looks like the type of guy who lets his wife have a bf 😂😂😂
i have theorised the same thing. Except it will likely be Lev who tells the catalina ff's where ellie is. Then the ff's would raid jackson, killing many including dina or sum1 close to ellie etc..etc...revenge quest! i also think abby would not be hostile toward ellie in pt3, nor would ellie be toward her, given their arc. Therefor the likely scenario is that she would help ellie and turn against her new ff buddies. i think it would have to end with abby dying for a good cause, but she must die for the story to feel complete. hopefully she gets infected and ellie has to be the one to put her down. it could even mirror the violence of how she slowly killed joel, if ellie has to off her with her bare hands or a blunt weapon, might be almost as brutal, and it would scar ellie, thus continuing the cycle of violence. i hope to see sum resolution on the whole cure for mankind "sub plot", without ellie having to die! maybe there can be no cure and humanity has to adapt to the new world or perish, would be fine by me. At least that means there would be many spin offs spanning further into the future timelines of tlou universe, as opposed to only flashback games of the period of 30-40yrs of the pandemic beginning and pt3 ending, if they close it out with a cure or something world changing.
btw ellie wouldnt be in jackson during the raid. wherever she is, i highly doubt she went back to dina. would be cool if she went back to Bill, whos still alive in the game as far as we know and its safe there and they're both gay lol so no creepy old man weirdness
Great theory, I think it would make sense to leave the story open for others to rise after - also considering that the attractiveness of TLOU relies on the dark events occuring. Could it be that the fireflies are sacrifying severals immuned individiuals in front of Abby's eyes with compromised outcomes for the development of a vaccine/cure, who will realize the mistake that her father was about to make and therefore proving Joel's point on saving Ellie's life. Then the fireflies learn about Ellie's immunity, chase her down and Abby saves and maybe sacrificies her own life to save Ellie's
if Ellie does end up being the cure, I'd love to see an epilogue where the cordyceps is cured and humanity is trying to repair itself. maybe from the perspective of an adult JJ, or Lev.
Same! Almost like the Walking Dead comics ending!
Too corny imo, and that makes Ellie and Joel’s relationship falling apart redundant
@@cocob0l0Eh I disagree with your take
@@cocob0l0 i agree, it would feel like it was wrapped up too nicely. naughty dog wouldnt do a "happily ever after" ending, specially cause of how they approached part 2 - killing off joel
Personally society had its chance so I don’t hope for it to be cured
Neil was so smart when deciding to have Ellie raise Jessie's baby. Imagine ellie not being able to look at her son's face without being reminded of the person she got killed by going on that quest of revenge. I think in the third game she needs to overcome her guilt to be the parent that was taken from her

So basically you want part 3 to be The Sims
What? This literally doesn't make any sense.

Trauma therapy simulator with zombies
Did you not play tlou 2 lol, the ending literally shows that she let Joel's death go.

TLOU 3 should be named The Last of us REDEMPTION. Where Ellie joins a gang and roams the west, eventually dying of tuberculosis.
🤣🤣
@LaxativeCola definetely
Then she discovers her long lost uncle who has contracted lumbago
Lumbago is the final form. There’s no cure.
How original 😂
I need Ellie to have a near death experience where she sees Joel and tells him she forgives him after becoming a step mom she understands and they fully reconcile.
Yes!
@@pixel8ted the fact they never adressed this bothers me. After becoming a mom and seeing what it was like to have a child she never once said to herself “this is what Joel felt for me”
Near death? I would say she's dead after meeting a doctor who knows how to make a cure, and reuniting with Joel and his daughter.
Spiritually but not physically
@@link12992 That's the point of her arc. She was too focused on how he died that she didn't stop to consider why she lived.
I'd like them to make one showing Tommy and Joel's journey from Texas to Boston. Remember in the first one Tommy says he still has nightmares
Yes!
I’ve been saying this. Those days arguably shaped the characters we see in both games, would love to see them survive & get to the start of the first game.
Pretty much a prequel you mean? I'd be down to that. Like it taking place a few days after Sara's death & the brothers are learning to survive in their adventure.
Oh yeah I would love to see that!
The last of us story has been about Ellie from the start, I can’t see a 3rd game not focusing on Ellie. She’ll learn dying isn’t the only way for her life to have meaning…
I think your pitch for the story was great, I had thought many of the things you pitched myself with Ellie & Abby.
Neil said himself this is the story of Ellie! I've heard some say they think the game will have almost no Ellie in it, but that makes no sense to me either.
@@pixel8ted same here, Ellie is the last of us, there’s zero chance she’s not the playable character for the majority.
the first game was about Joel.... sure we played as Ellie for a chapter but even then it's to show us the impact Joel has had on her.
Yes!
It's implied that other countries have fallen to the cordyceps, so imagine a game taking place within another country entirely.
@@ADcommenterYes, I would love to know what’s going on in other countries
It’s awesome because despite having seen so many locations and met so many people/factions within these 2 games, there’s still so many people and places that we haven’t met and visited in this world yet. What’s Europe like? Japan? Mexico? While I doubt the series will ever take us there, it’s intriguing to think about
Maybe what could work is a dlc that goes with the game, like left behind, that focuses on Joel and Tommy during early outbreak. That’s if Tommy has a major role in part 3.
Abby should try and come in peace with Ellie. Kidnapping her wouldn't be too sincere. If Abby is to win Ellie's trust and forgiveness.
That's possible! I could see her coming in thinking the plan is one way, and then it takes a turn, and then she swaps sides due to what the fireflies do!
ELLIE IS THE BAD ONE!!!
@@mr.kwamid-86_43 But it's Abby coming to Ellie. Not the opposite way around.
Why would Abby want or need peace with Ellie or have her trust or forgiveness? She's been over it all long before Ellie.
@@MikeThePole There's still bad blood between them.
Good theories!
God I hope not, Abby needs to stay in that boat at sea and never come back
@@Gaymergirl69XI think Ellie only knows that Abby killed Joel because he took away the only chance at a cure, not because Abby’s dad was the one that Joel killed
That's possible!
Agreed!
What I think part III will be about:
2 year time jump from TLOU Part II, Ellie is still in the process of redeeming herself and restoring her relationships with other people, Jackson has expanded and has become part of a network of communities in the western United States, who run a large jointed community of settlements, the infected are mostly gone, and the world is slowly recovering, the people, however, aren’t.
Interesting stuff!
To good to be true 😭
Nah sounds gay I got a better idea, in fact I’m gonna work on the story and try and make a deal with naughty dog and see what they think of my story for last of us part 3
Thats actually really good
In the end of TLOU2 Dina moved to Jackson and Ellie left to go find her.
Tommy was in the army I guess lot of skills adapted to the survival of the fittest in this mad world
Yeah lets play an entire game of a guy that we already know dies. Oh wait, already did that.
A Tommy prequel with the falling out of him and Joel with frequent flashbacks to him and Joel would be awesome. Would be cool to see what happened to Ellie or Abby too.
Yes!
They could add a whole new horror element!
That would be cool, but I don’t know how they would introduce this. It wouldn’t really make sense to randomly just have it as a mechanic
@@dariusporter358 that’s only a show thing just like how spores are in the game but not in the show
@@stickster6495 I know it’s just a show thing. I was just saying that it would be cool if it was added to the next game.
My idea is that Abby will find Ellie for the fireflies and the series will end with Ellie making the choice to give her life to make a cure. I never really thought that it made sense that Abby's dad was the only one who can make a cure, there has to be another doctor alive somewhere and maybe the new fireflies found them.

This is a great point, JJ will probably play a bigger role than expected!
That's possible!
Not Tommy!
That's possible!
Agreed!
That would be tragic!
I don’t know where Part III will go, but if I were to venture a guess, this is what I as a fan would see:
Abby and Lev found the Fireflies and have been working with them for a couple of years now.
So Live!”
Part I: Love
Part II: Hate
Part III: Life
Very good ideas!
Pretty good tbh
I actually don’t hate that
Why is it so hard for people to not call the FUNGUS a virus?
Like everywhere i go i see them call this games' disease a virus
I would love Part III to actually explore events between outbreak and Boston where we play as Tommy in this 20 year gap
That's very interesting!
Interesting theory!
As soon as I beated the last of us, part two remastered I said “hopefully there will be a third game so they can have a finale to this” and here we are I think what’s gonna happen is that there will be a another chance for a cure
I think so too!
It's possible! I still feel like there is still a bit more to wrestle through, but maybe I'm wrong!
I want to see how Joel and Tommy survived right after Sarah’s death. I think that could be a great game.
Yes!
This last of us remix playing in the background is fire
It's so good!
I honestly always imagined a TLOU game but it’s an open world. With an offline and online mode and a create ur own character for each. Starts off by getting saved by Joel and Tommy and they take u to camp (Jackson) and from there u explore every poi/ open world/and landscape. And u just do missions taking place a year before Joel’s death...idk if it’s just me but sounds cool either way😭🙌🤷♂️
That could be a cool idea!
These predictions let alone gave me cold chills. I hope they create something amazing.
I hope so too!
Ellie dying of old age and submitting to "research" to find a cure is really freaking brilliant and I hope it absolutely happens.
She gets to live the life Joel wanted for her, and she gets to make her choice!
I like your ideas! Sounds like fun to play through. Hope we get something similar.
Hoping it's great!
it would be interesting if ellies immunity slowly started to actually affect her with age, much like how in Logan (the wolverine) his healing powers start to weaken and all his injuries dont heal properly, so in this context all ellies bites slowly manifest into something greater and she becomes what shes been destroying her whole life. It would be really tragic if ellie becomes a 'monster' but also quite interesting.
That could be really interesting!
Yeah I'm on board with your idears. We need a fourth game about Joel and Tommy directly after Sahra dies leading up to meeting Tess and Ellie. Full circle.
Everyone is dying for that Tommy game!
Man, I can’t wait for the third game. Great video and theory, dude!
Thank you!
Another immune character could be cool!
Great theories!
The forgiveness aspect can definitely be painted onto Dina’s forgiveness of Ellie for leaving
Totally!
Doesn't really have the same weight as forgiving murder though does it
A Joel and Tommy prequel WOULD FEED FAMILIES
Yes it would!
Interesting ideas!
naughty dog taking notes like ✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼
Hahaha that would be wild!
I think the fungus is gonna jump again, making it a truly extinction level scenario (like mosquitos as carriers). This will convince abbey and the fireflies to try and appeal to Ellie.
That would be horrific haha!
Probably the most sound prediction I’ve heard 👌🏾
Thank you!
@@pixel8ted Definitely!
A long, but good read. Trust me.

One simple change they could've done to the game to make it resonate more wit players (which is something I think they'll do in part 3 and season 2).
(All the while, us getting to learn who these new characters are, how they've been handling the pandemic, BUT not yet show how they link up to our characters, until we get to Abby's backstory and then Ellie's side.)
But do it in a way where we don't kno who it is that's killing all our new friends in Seattle (that we think it's cuz we abandoned the WLF or something).
Then, right BEFORE seeing that we run into Tommy at the theater, we switch to Abby's backstory.
We see that her dad was the one Joel killed.
Now we feel for Abby & everything she went throo.
THEN, we finally get to Ellie's side of the story.
(Yes, it would take quite a while, but this way, not knowing Joel dies yet & knowing what Abby went throo, we actually would feel for Abby.)
Now we play as Ellie's story like normal.
When we get to the mansion, we hear screaming and bust in to see Joel being murdered.
Now we put 2 & 2 together and go
"Ahh! THAT'S why Abby & co. were running away from the mansion in the beginning and tryna get outta there."
Then we go on the hunt for Abby & co.
Lol
I didn't get it and didn't want to get it at that time.)
...didn't help the game at all, since a lot of ppl knew what happened in the beginning.
What? Lol
There's a diff way to get the same shock value, like in my version.
It took them 7 years to come out with a sequel for the first game. So if they do the same for part II then we should have part III by 2027
I definitely think it will come at the end of the PS5 life cycle, I think that's why they remastered the other two games for it, so that the trilogy will live on PS5!
@@KingSlayer_. it’ll probably come out sooner than that seeing as the show is huge and only took them 2 years to make the second season, most likely part 3 will come out in 2 years
the final theme should be hope
That could work!
I think there could two concepts also added here. 1)Ellie might not be the only immune, this could be explored alongside how cruel humans can be to achieve a result 2)a cure might not even be achievable and if the cure isn’t even possible how Joel’s decision could affect Ellie after realising this
Both of those are possible!
I don't think they will let us know whether it actually would have worked or not
I love all your theories! I think all the stuff you said is really awesome. One thing I hope is that Ellie and Abby team up and we get to explore the lower region of the US. And maybe go back to Joel’s old home in Texas? Idk but more exploration across America is something I desperately want!
That could be cool!
Thanks man for making this video. I was having a hard time trying to figure out on my own where the story could go after part 2 and I just couldn’t think of anything but You shined a light at the end of the tunnel. Great video and thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can’t see a bright theme for part 3 because this is a world where bad and senseless events are always around the corner
That's totally possible, but the first theme was pretty bright (but in a Last of Us way)
A possible theory is that we find out Abby is Immune as well. Maybe this could be a major part of the story for part III.
That could be crazy!
Great theories!
@@pixel8ted 👍
I don’t understand how people think Ellie and Abby are going to meet again. They went in completely different directions and it’s a whole world out there. How and why would they find each other?
She did find Joel who was in a completely different direction!
Here's my take:
Part 3 picks up with Abby and Lev, Ellie has finally moved on - she still sees Dina and JJ (but they're not a couple anymore).
Either way, I'm sure they'll cook something up😊
Whatever they do will be great!
Really interesting!
I really hope Abby doesn’t die :’(
It would be sad!
Your idea makes most sense to me , but still expect the unexpected
Totally!
That's possible!
Im going to like and sit on this, for when the next game drops. That way i can come back too, and compare when that time comes.
See you soon! 👍🏽
One thing you said really struck me. Abbey not being able to rip Ellie from her son which would make her like Joel. She’d become who she hated
My take away from The Last of Us 2 is that she already became Joel (and didn’t seem to have the self reflection to realize it).
Like Joel, she met a kid and found herself willing to kill a LOT of members of a paramilitary group to protect him.
The only difference is Joel killed a bunch of assholes that didn’t care about consent because they felt they didn’t have to so the used force and threats (they fucked around and found out)
Abbey killed even bigger assholes but unlike Joel, she was a Judas. She killed a bunch of her comrades to protect a teenager she didn’t know. (I admire her choice but a more self aware person would empathize with Joel’s position).
Yes I’ve over thought this
Totally!
Tommy with a prosthetic to help with his limping setting out to finish the job Ellie couldn't will be awesome!!
Could be crazy!
I have a quick question, at 13:25 and 12:20 when did Neil ever said that Ellie’s immunity will be a big part of The Last of Us 3?
I think part 3 being about forgiveness is what would make sense given part 2’s concept. It would be interesting to see Neil put Ellie through a story in part 3 which puts her in a position to have to make a tough decision for someone she cares about deeply, similar to how Joel did when he saved Ellie from the fireflies, that ultimately would give her the perspective to truly forgive Joel.
That could be great!
Uncharted 4 was a great ending!
Part 3 should be split in half. It can jump between chapters of what the first few months of the infection was like and Joel meeting Tess. The other half should be the fungus being cured and the last few months.
We also need a DLC for my man Bill
Bill DLC would be wild!
Hi!
I would love for The Last Of Us 3 to be about how Ellie redeems herself and finds meaning in her life too!💖I hope that Ellie has a great ending and that she gets the ending that she deserves too! I think she is the best character in The Last Of Us franchise alongside Joel and Dina!
I agree, I hope it's a good ending for her!
@@pixel8ted Me too!
I totally agree. I think the questions of each part are:
1. What will we do for love?
2. What will we do for revenge? (you called this grief)
3. What will we do to forgive?
The real meaning of part II was forgiving
@@giacomorenna822 Says who? Who was forgiven?
@@terranncegilmore that's not the point, but if you Watch the last flashback scene of Ellie and Joel on the balcony you'll understand. I know that all the game is about revenge, but the game isn't that banal
I agree!
I wish Joel is still alive for part three
I think we will for sure see him in flashbacks or dreams!
These are amazing points! i totally agree w all of them, and I REALLY love all the full circle moments we’ll hopefully get to see!
Agreed!
2:45 I’m fine with this story being over with a part 3, but it would be a crime against storytelling to let the world end with part 3. Spin-offs would solve this.
Totally!
God it’s so nice to hear people talk about TLoU 1/2 with out going fucking crazy
Indeed!
I dont want nothing deep but ellie learning what joel meant by protecting her by protecting a loved one of her own.
I think that could play a part in it!
Does anybody else feel like there might come a time in this game where Ellie is forced to kill Tommy?
I can't see him forgiving Abby... feel like he could even be a little loopy by the time this game begins.
I can't imagine how emotionally wrecking it would be for Tommy to turn into a villain...
Totally possible!
Good theories!
The first game was about love, i agree. The second game was about hate, and vengeance.
So good!
Ive been building season 2 sets in Vancouver BC
AMAZING BUILDS
YOURE GUNNA LOVE IT..
SEASON 3 in the game is in the desert..
Season finale we just shot and wrap party is sunday night
Cheerz to all the fans
The desert!?
It'll be interesting to see what they do!
That's a fair point!
just watched this and I think that all points made were absolutely amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
"But it was all a dream...."
You know, for maximum rage.
Would be the worst thing haha!
I think it might be along that way, but Abby will realize she got inmunity from Ellie's bite and the later implications from that
Very logical thinking. Can definitely see some of these things taking shape in part 3.
Hope it's great!
@@pixel8ted not worried when Neil was inspired to make the game after seeing Children of Men.
They BETTER, make “Ellie” have a Happy Ending. She has Suffered WAY too damn much man. Just let her be at peace. So I HOPE, “Forgiveness” IS, the last Chapter.
I agree!
I wrote something very similar in Reddit except I proposed that Ellie lives as a hermit who sees Tommy every so often and he brings news of fireflies looking for her. She seeks out Abby and then a lot of what you said in this.
That could be interesting!
Interesting theories!
My god... That was beautifully put.
@@lorivera94 thank you :)
@@michaeldietz2648 I also cried seeing it in my mind.
My fav theory so far
I want to see a prequel where joel and tommy get to boston, how bill owes joel favors, why tommy has nightmares and why tess says theyre bad people and they have been for a long time. Joel seeing or using the map interrogation tactic and how he knew that one guy aint even hurt when they got to Pittsburgh.
Would love this!
Redemption. For Ellie, Abby and Tommy. Fighting against an enemy of mankind, where they can finally square up with the sins of their pasts
It would be cool!
Great ideas!
@@mannyafcarsensl-rc6vv so Ellie becomes a detective in part 3 😂 these theories are terrible
@@stickster6495 better than butch abbie playthrough which is probably what you want
Solid video and theory!
Thank you!
i have theorised the same thing.
Great theories!
Finally a different theory this is very interesting!
Thank you!
