David Draiman of Disturbed, and ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo recently collaborated together to construct Device. The album takes strands from hard rock, industrial, and electronica, and as a result, Device's self-titled debut album for Warner Bros. Records is a focused, fierce, and fiery new machine.
It all started while the Grammy Award-nominated multiplatinum powerhouse Disturbed was on hiatus, Lenardo reached out to Draiman to collaborate on a song for the Underworld: Awakening soundtrack in late 2011. As soon as the singer heard the music, he was both intrigued and inspired. The duo then cut "Hunted" in Chicago. Even though the track didn't ultimately make the final soundtrack album due to circumstances beyond their control, Draiman urged that they hold on to it and continue writing music. Soon, they had an entire album's worth of material.
Upon finishing the record, Draiman enlisted Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dope and Rock of Ages guitarist Virus. Both Hunt and Virus jumped at the chance to be a part of this powerhouse trio. The three comprise the touring incarnation of Device.

When I first heard this song on the radio, I was like " This guy sounds just like David Draiman"! Now I'm ecstatic!

This and Haze are my favorites from the album. I don't know why, but they just stand apart to me. But I love all the songs. I wish we could get another album, but it was only ever a side project. A man can hope though...

Thats because its a new band... doing its own thing. If you want it to be Disturbed... listen to Disturbed. Personally some of my faviourite songs from David have come from Device.

I agree with you. Disturbed are awesome, but Device are slightly better I think :-).
Disturbed isn't gone. They are on a Hiatus, now an extended Hiatus. And I might be wrong or right I don't know and don't care, but a rumor was spread just a rumor not necessarily true so don't quote me. I heard that David Draiman was going to make Device his main band. Not sure just a rumor I heard. So don't get all raging if I'm wrong.

It's not the same style. It's more industrial than Disturbed. Some people like that sound better. Personally, I love Disturbed, but industrial metal is fantastic to me, too. So this is like a happy hybrid.

If that is true Disturbed will be all but dead and I wouldn't get my hopes up of them ever making another album.
This is true. Draiman himself stated that Device is more the direction he wanted to go, that Disturbed doesn't really have anywhere left to go, and that he's had to carry on with their style longer than he liked.
It is a little sad, but it's nice to see Draiman making music he loves instead of just doing what his group does, I was a huge Disturbed fan, but still, I won't be that upset over their end, if they end on good terms and move on to stuff that suits them better.

Ehhh, the only thing similar is the first few chords in the riff. Personally, I love KoЯn, but that song always left something to be desired. To add a fuller and more complex sound took a few similar chords and changed it into a new song. Using some chords isn't really ripping something off, if it was, NOTHING would be new.

this song is a ripoff o kron's helmet in the bush. most obvious between 1.58 to 2.10. even if it is a great song with great lyrics and great vocals, this shit is inexcusable.
