After watching a bunch of your content, I believe you’ve talked me out of the SML-2 and opt for the RM3 instead - I like the versatility and the idea of not having to stare at a wall while doing squats. If you need a place to store your old mini feet let me know lol. I’m shocked Rogue is making you pay for anything at this point; you demonstrate the versatility of their equipment better than anyone I’ve seen on UA-cam including Rogue themselves. Because of your videos, I’m confident on what I am looking for out of a home gym without spending money on things that I will regret later on. Thanks man

FWIW: I just had Rogue do this for me for the same price as a normal RM-6 (Which stings a little in the sense that I'm paying the same for less steel). I knew I wanted a 6 post, but also wanted the smaller footprint. So if you want a 6 post, but don't want the full size, you can have it without making two separate purchases.

As a heads up, Rogue will sell you an RM6 with a 30" depth. You just specify that you want 30" instead of 43" in the comments section of the final order screen. I'm waiting on mine now!

    • @bmstylee

@@persistentconsistency man that's tempting. What did it cost if I can be so bold to ask. I like my Fortis Rack but I would sell it for a 6 post. I want to do a drop in Rhino. I emailed them if I could do it with my rack. I'm curious if the fact it's welded not bolted made a difference.

@@bmstylee I'm not too informed about the weld Fortis racks or the Rhino, but it's probably worth hitting Rogue up to see what's possible!
They charge the same for the 30" depth version of the RM6, so that's the only thing that might throw someone off of that plan. I knew I wanted the 30" depth to minimize thee footprint and was just glad they allowed for that customization at all.

    • @persistentconsistency

@@BasementBrandon I wanted this so badly, haha! If they ever offer the option, I'd be dumb enough to pay for the upgrade. 16" plate storage and 24" PR5000 front extensions would be a decent swap, if I ever wanted to work out front of the rack. I'm always spinning my wheels on potential mods.

We briefly spoke on the FB page about mine because i have the exact setup (in light grey). I 100% agree with all of your points! The 30’’ is perfect, the RM6 is a bit ridiculous. I also wish they had 16’’ crossmembers instead of 24. I am hoping the next gen Slinger is improved because I am intrigued by the Rogue pull down attachment that fits the plate stack in the 24’’ section. Going to wait awhile for some reviews on it but a decent pull down system is the last big piece I need. Definitely think the upgrade was worth it, didn’t have the extra cash for the RM6 at the time and in the end it worked out because I am much happier with this setup. Keep up with the great reviews, your attention to detail has helped me avoid a lot of mistake purchases 👍

Fair enough if you will actually be using the inside of the 2nd set of uprights.
I also don't understand why people with 4 or 6 post racks like to use the outside of the rack with spotter arms instead of inside (with strap safeties). That the monster hip thruster bench there in the back? Curious--how do you plan to use it? Excited to see your Single Stack from Prime, by the way. I've been debating between that and just doing a Lat Pulldown/Low Row from Sorinex. I’m curious on how you were planning on center mounting the Slinger, I just got an extra 43” crossbar for my RM6 to do something like that (was going to use the spud inc or custom pulley setup) because I disliked having the single pulley setup and having to step back and change the angle to not hit by the weights.
Does that require an extra 24” piece to split the difference in that upper section to mount the slinger onto?
One thing I liked about carabiner mounted pulleys was it could get out of the way when I’m benching / squatting, but not sure if you played around with that on your slinger spec.

*Do I have to bolt down?
*Is it worth to go with rm6 for the storage or do the tree like you have? Seems like it is close to same price.
*Would it work with the new mono lifts for squat and then sandwich jcups in there for bench setup all the time? (Yea I am lazy like that) Or is it overkill as I am planning to get a squat and Ohio power bar.

    Hi Brandon…. Me again 😎
Why do you say 43” is too big? I plan to get jammer arms and I don’t want to bolt the rack down, I would prefer to use the, inside the rack for stability and to use flip down safeties to rest the arms on. I’m leaning 43” for this reason.

    Thank you

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  2 роки тому

I just find there's nothing you can do in a 43" rack that you can't do in a 30" one. If you're looking for bigger footprint just for stability that's another topic to me. However a 43" rack could still be unstable if using spotter arms on the outside and failing a heavy enough lift. For your slinger question, you can install it in the rear but the slinger would also have to face the rear as there's no current solution rogue sells to lift in the front. You may be able to make something using a longer cable and more pulleys, but most won't want to DIY.
