Brandon Campbell Diamond Was gonna suggest this a few videos ago when you mentioned the 30 inch depth being perfect for you. I was trying to decide between this and the RML 490C. Ended up going with the 490C though.
@@robertwright3302 Yeah but I think it looks pretty sweet, plus you can take off the white part and put in your own if you want. Just kind of annoying that if I wanted to get rid of it and use the crossmember that it's not an option.

I was about to skip to 4:57 and then thought, "I actually want to listen to what he says beforehand. This guy must be likeable or something, I never do this." Keep up the great work Brandon!
I have the same rack and j-hooks. Great choice. I got the spotter arms too. Now you got me considering the half rack feet, I can put the spotter arms on the front, and store all weight on the back uprights. No need to bolt it down, even though mines not bolted yet anyway.

I bought the same exact one, but 100" uprights and 24" crossmembers. Just put it together. I also bought half rack feet, but didn't need them cuz the rack is so sturdy, doesn't move an inch when doing pull-ups....Thank you for your videos, you were the inspiration behind this purchase ✌️
Hey Brandon, I was just putting together a rogue rig at a crossfit gym i work at and I was told not to put the washers on the bolts going through the face plates, as they act as the washer. I think they read this in the assembly instructions. I noticed that the washers almost cover up the edges of the word "Rogue" so I thought this might help.
Looking forward to your thoughts on the slinger. I want to add one to my RM6 but I'm waiting for the weight stack option to come out for it. I'm running a Spud Inc high pulley off a monster shackle on a crossmember in the meantime.
You can fix your overhead space issue by changing the garage door setup. Get a direct drive garage door opener that mounts on the wall and high lift tracks. It'll move the garage doors out of the way so you can workout with the doors open. Also with the openers on the wall you'll have tons of overhead clearance.
Would it be better to switch those black legs to the rear? I am just thinking of the lateral stability of the rack when you are reracking a heavy bar. Now that you don't have the third set of uprights behind the primary uprights that hold your j-cups, it seems like the rack would be more likely to tilt/shift when tossing a heavy bar into the racks. Having those feet in the rear would stiffen up the lateral support quite a bit (it seems).
I use the front posts for heavy work (squats) and the rear for light work (bench). My thought process is when I rack a heavy squat I’m pushing the bar forward into the front posts, so having the feet there prevent any potential tipping.
Skyler King I just really like the roll cups bc it allows me to reposition a loaded bar, but sometimes it’s nice having another pair of cups so if I’m changing bars or exercises it makes it easier to transfer plates.
@@BasementBrandon also for your next rack its easier to set them up solo if you use the band pegs to line up the bolt holes and hold things loosely in place while your bolting it together.
I think this was a well thought out choice. Even a lot of us thought you'd go with Rogue, it is really clear it wasn't just for sake of being a fanboy. Enjoy the new rack!
Great decision process and therefore a great end result. I haven't seen many of the Monster racks in white and it manages to look both classy and simultaneously badass. Congrats!
Really good video! Thank you for reporting on your process. You saved me a ton of time and saved me from wasting money on other equipment as I am dialing in on my decision. Thank you very much.
Brandon: I am still working it out. However, Rogue will be the support system I use in my gym. Like you, I train alone. I don't want to go out at this time unless it is necessary. I was considering a system incorporating a Westside bench and cage, but think I may be able to get by with one of the Monster builds (3 or 4), but will need (want) a solid incline bench. I built both out on the website and think the difference in price is about $165. I don't understand how that can be the case, but it seems to be. Am I missing something?
I thought you were being over the top when you said that "you thought you were going to die" when installing the Rogue name plate. That was until I built my RML-490c rack last night. That name plate is stupid heavy. I had to get the wife to put the bolts through, while I help the plate up. I don't know how you did that by yourself! 💪
Can’t wait to see the video on the plates and how you came to that conclusion. Wicked rack, the series was awesome, good insight. Thanks again for your recommendation on the plates too
As you have used racks from both RML and RM series, could you please do a episode comparing the two, especially in terms of design and durability? Thank you very much!
陈栩 the Monster attachments sometimes are higher end (like the trolley arms for example) all the monster attachments are also lined with UHMW where they connect to the rack whereas the RMLs are not!
Bro.... I honestly think anyone who would buy a rack would be as neurotic about it as us, provided they'd bought before. There are so many little details that really make your training fun if you take them into consideration. I really like this little series you did. Nice work GANGBANGER
Brandon how would you make rogue sml squat stand monster and monster lite squat stand more versatility, do you have any ideas for rogue Maybe add jammer arms to it. What would you do to add.💪💪💪👍👍👍🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️
@@BasementBrandon If you have time for a question. I'm building my first home gym. I'm 50yo and been weight training since I was 12. Due to age, fitness goals, and deteriorating joints I'll never have more than 425 on my bar (squats). I'll probably never clean over 205, or deadlift over 315. Do you think the Rogue Eco Bar is a good choice?
Yes it would be fine. The only thing you may miss is center knurling for back squats, but if you're doing cleans and front racks, you prob don't want much of a center knurl anyways!
As weird as this is. I like that you have the big bolts on the front of the sign. It makes the sign look more rugged. Like when trucks have the large fender bolts lining their flared fenders.
Dig it. Went Titan half rack years ago. It's not half bad.. half bad. Pretty sure I've seen every video of yours and this series was great. Stay big. Also shooocked you didn't go higher ceilings in your new house.
The basement will for sure be taller than standard, but I can't go super high as it's a tremendous increase in cost (which is also already super pricey lol).
Your a great man Brandon these videos should help a bunch of garage gym owners , I’m glad u went with Rogue they never let u down great products I own rmlF and I love it I bought my big brother a rml490 and he loves it. 👍🏽
Here in OZ we don't have as many Rogue racks to choose from. The one I am looking at is the RML 390F. I do like the one you have but not available in OZ. Thank you for the videos.
Love the rack! Great choice with the white, very clean look. I was expecting blue actually. Hope the paint doesn’t get nicked up too much with use, but you probably won’t have that issue with a rogue product. Well done! Can’t wait to see the new plates and barbells.
I think in some areas it will (especially if I use the pin safeties). One of the nice things about the attachments being padded is it protects the steel.
Brandon Campbell Diamond Great point! I think the set up is going to look wicked with the addition of some colored bumper plates or Competition plates, assuming you went that route.
I really got the itch to get a higher end rack setup in my basement. We have 103 inches of clearance from the floor to the bottom of our floor joists overhead. I currently have a tall 6 upright T6 titan rack tapconed into the slab. My wife has a gf or two over to workout with her sometimes so she ocasionally has 2 squat bars or benches setup at one time in each bay. Wondering what your thoughts are on the convenience of a 4 upright rack with no weight plate storage at all like your currently setup vs the 6 upright monster lite you used to have with weight storage. I was thinking maybe a plate tree on casters with a 4 upright rack with one in the rack on one on spotters outside might be better than a 6 upright rack with plate storage on the rack. For just me a deep 4 upright rack with plate storage all on one side would work fine like you suggested in one of your videos but then we could only have one lifter setup at a time. The priority would be to be as convenient as possible for me and my wife individually to lift but atleast have the option to safely have a 2nd lifter. If you get a chance to respond I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks.
I think if you're looking to have people lift on the outsides of both racks, you could do either scenario. A 6 post would be more stable for this, but also much more expensive. I'd probably go 4 post without storage and maybe add on some monster half rack feet so it wouldn't tip over.
Hey Brandon, have you by chance seen Rogues RM-4 Monster Rack 2.0 in stainless steel? I want to know how it looks because of the huge price difference.
My guess is it looks cool. It does add strength but these racks are going to hold more weight than most humans can lift. Unless you are Shaw, or Thor, or Ray Williams.
I wanted the beefier set up, but also you get more standard upgrades like laser cut numbering on the posts, better attachments, and most companies also pad attachments with UHMW where it connects to the rack
Brandon, first of all, thank you for the information you have provided on your channel: it has answered a lot of questions I have had as I am in the final throes of the process of selecting the "right rack" and I am narrowing my sights on the Rogue RM-4. I have a couple of questions that I hope you might be able to shed some light on. 1. Finish. I am concerned about corrosion and for this reason am looking at the Stainless Steel option (+$900) or Black Cerakote option (+$430). I am wondering whether (a) these two finishes are more effective against corrosion and just general wear and tear such as bangs with some other heavy piece and (b) if this constitutes throwing money away, or will I be able to get it back if and when I try to sell the rack? In case I choose a standard powder-coat finish, does this coat cover the INSIDE surfaces of the tubes sufficiently well to protect against corrosion? 2. Plate and bar storage: on the rack or separately on a rack tree? Since I am planning to use a shrimp trawler (for a kickboxing bag or may be rings in the future) and I am NOT planning to bolt the rack down (though I WILL use the feet), I am thinking of hanging the weights on the side of the rack that is opposite of where I will place the trawler, to provide some counterbalance, for stability. By the way, I am small (135 lbs) and older (67) so the weights I will use will be correspondingly on the smaller side. Will this work, or should I either bolt it down, or not use the trawler? Thanks again.
TBH I don't think you'll run into corrosion issues on a rack unless it's outside or in extreme humidity. Even then the other finishes are still not worry free. The powder coat only really gets the outside although some overspray will get inside the tubing. For stabilizing, it might be good to have some low weight storage to balance things out, but I wouldn't go crazy with it until you get it and see what's needed.
Exactly what I have, however have not had issues with unstable or unevenness. They def have a slight smell, not as noticeable in the garage as they were in my basement.
I want a stormtrooper rack. But the gf says no! Just have a cheap rep pr-1000 for now. Planning on an RML-690C in green down the road. I have a question tho. Im in "need" of an SSB. Should I wait out Titan for the v2 which they keep moving the instock date back further and further. Or wait for elite to drop the ssyoke to 350 again and call it a day?
They come in stock more than you think, they just sell out quick. I'd call and talk to them and they should give you an idea of when they're coming. I think it makes the most sense to get one over an Elite one given the price difference.
@@BasementBrandon yah they keep moving the date on expected in stock on me. They were showing in stock early April and I ordered one and Titan cancelled my order. They just said "product no longer in stock" and put an expected date on there for a week later. So I waited and then the date changed and changed and changed. Lol. I wouldn't even need one but tomorrow I actually go back to another doctor to get a 2nd opinion on my elbow. First doctor said "compressed ulnar nerve" or something and suggested surgery. Trying to avoid time off work. I'll call them today since they do have an expected date and see if I can just pre order. Thanks for your reply.

I have a one car garage that will be used for gym stuff only it’s 12ft X 18ft. I don’t have a big budget I would say 3-4K Max. My goals for now it’s to get back in shape. Start with basic compound workouts. Benching squat military press etc. I like the wall mounts and if I decide on one it will always be in the ready position. Don’t want to be folding it every time I use it. Specially since the garage will be for gym use only. So I’m debating if just invest in a good decent size power rack. Thanks in advance and for responding I being thinking this for a while now.
@@juliogonzalez8629 I might go with a small footprint rack if it were me, something that's 24"-30" deep would be fine. You could build that onto it's own little platform (let's say 8'x8'). That would allow you to bench, squat, deadlift, snatch, clean, etc. You then have the ability to lift inside a rack (which is much safer) and have access to a full line of accessories down the road if you want to expand. I'd look at the R-3.
Brandon Campbell Diamond ok thanks. I just want to purchase something that I know I won’t want to change or upgrade. Just want to buy a rack that will be mine forever. I have also being looking into rml-490c My ceilings are about 110 inches so so far most racks will fit. I just don’t get or see the difference between rml-490c, rml-390, r-4, rm3 and the other smaller ones.
Hey Brandon, I was wondering if it is enough to have the stabilizers only in the front. When I squat or bench I typically place the hooks and barbell on the back of the rack. Does it stand safely? If yes, what exactly are the stabilizers for then? Only for keeping it stable when doing pull-ups?
Stabilizers make the rack much more stable and also help prevent tipping. If you're racking on the back of the rack but only have the feet on the front, I'd worry it could still tip backwards.
What do you think about the new Rogue stainless steel option for the monster series? Also do you think having bigger holes on the monster series would weaken the rack over the 5/8 monster light. Not that most people would ever lift enough to even make a dent on either rack.
My first time watching your videos. Great job, I watch all of your videos in this series. As you were finally reviewing the Rogue, I was thinking to myself why not just go with a full rack instead. Not disappointed at all that you didn't go a 1/2 rack. Thanks for your detailed thought process. P.S. Yes I hit the Liked & I subscribed.
Hey man I appreciate that. I didn't think I could fit one initially, but at the end it just made sense and I'm happy with the route I went. I actually just made it into a 6 post rack.
Are the band-pegs actually useful in this config? Since the rack isn't bolted to the ground, don't you run the risk of the bands lifting the rack up off the ground?
Hmm ive been back and fourth between a small half rack or squat stand. I feelike the squat stand is just as capable. It can take spotting legs and hold weight and even lets you do yolk walks. Any ideas?
Depends on how much versatility you want and if you plan on adding accessories. If you just want something to do squats/bench on then either would be fine! I didn't find a yoke worked out too well for me personally (I did a review a year or two ago)
@@BasementBrandon hmmm thats great to hear ill definatly have to go find that video. Thanks for the reply. And it would be cool to see what acsessories you end up buying (and how and if they work) thanks again brother!
What rack would you recommend for a 16 year old that is looking for a versatile rack. I would like the availability for a pull-up bar and a dip bar. And I am on a budget however I am certainly willing to invest more to get quality and to get above the “cheap” tier. Thank you in advance
Haven’t read all the comments but you could have just ordered the 30 inch depth posts then attached them to your old rack and removed the storage posts and you’d have the same thing. New one looks awesome though.
Not very cost efficient b/c I would be basically wasting half of the existing rack. So instead I sold my old one, and was able to get the one here and still pocket some money!
@@BasementBrandon any chance of a picture of the bar sitting on top of the rack? A guy could at least see where the rings are on the bar compared to the tubing. Thanks 💪
You mentioned that once you had the feet installed you really don't think they're necessary. If you wouldn't have got them would you have bolted it to the floor?
@@tonytrimpe4479 You can get decent options from Rep, BellsofSteel, Titan, etc. All are very similar in quality and offer short options. You could also consider a nicer (like Rogue) squat stand and get spotter arms. However in that case you have some other limitations and a higher cost.
If you add plate storage posts to the rack would it interfere with benching or squating? I ordered an rml390 and wondering if i need a plate tree. Thanks.
Just got the R-3 Power Rack. Experiencing some wiggle side to side though since it isn’t bolted down. Is that because I don’t have enough weight on plate storage? Would monster crossmember name plate help and/or even fit on the infinity series?
Brandon be careful of that red wire you have wrapped in a circle above the left hand side of your rack when youre facing it. It can act like like a transformer when in a circle and generate heat and go on fire, spread it out but not in a circle, another great video cheers
Brandon Campbell Diamond To each their own... I love the flat foot design and certainly helped me with max height limitations. What is your issue with FFD? Aesthetically not pleasing or???
I've found that it's harder to get it level on uneven flooring compared to that of a post design. Design also does not allow you to use band pegs spotter arms, or add an extension if desired.
Do have plenty of room to bench with weights on the plate storage? Any problems hitting them? Thinking about going with satin clear to avoid the "no paint in the inside of the uprights problem" Thanks for pointing that out. As always great review!
Been torn between this rack and the RM-6. I like the foot space of the RM-3 but I also like the plate storage and total weight for stability of the RM-6. Looking at the RM-6 it looks like an RM-4 with an added beams and plate storage. Watching your other most recent videos knowing that Rogue can custom order stuff... Do you think they can modify the RM-4 part to an RM-3?
Brandon Campbell Diamond thanks for the info! Gonna call Rogue and see if it would still apply to the 5 for $5 shipping promotion they currently have going on lol
Hey Brandon, what do you think about 100in high racks? I want a taller rack because I’m 6’2 with a 77in reach and enjoy doing pull ups and other hanging exercises with room to hang with straight legs, however I’m conflicted because I’m worried about being able to fit my rack in my home. Right now my set up is in my Dad’s garage and the ceilings are about 12 feet so i have plenty of room for now, but would like to eventually move my set up to my own space, preferably a basement with high ceilings. Do you think this is realistic or do you think keeping the taller rack will be a hassle in the long term?
You’ll need a 9’ basement to fit it in a useable way. In my experience this deep of basement isn’t that prevalent. You could consider going 90” and then getting one of the pull up add ons you can mount for higher usage.
Yes I want to know how you like rogues 6 shooters I was debating getting calabrated plates or just regular ones would like to know your comparison between them
Going through the right rack series now. Wanted to get your opinion on RM3 vs RM4. I know you went from a 43” RML to an RM3 (I also had the 43 RML) but curious if you could do it all over again would you still get the RM3? My only concern with the RM3 is I do like the new Monolifts and I might want to do the slinger (plate loaded not bands) at some point. I don’t have the room for a stand-alone lat pull down. I saw your slinger review but unfortunately space is tight it might be my only option (using a spud inc style pulley before). Given my potential attachments would you still get the RM3? Thanks in advance!
I don't think i'd ever go deeper than 30" again personally. I can do everything I can do in a 43" depth as is. If your budget allows, I might look into the Surplus Strength UPS pulley. Really integrates well. I'll be doing a review soon (and giving mine away).
Hi Brandon, Any thoughts on 24 inch racks? I don't have a lot of space to work with and would bolt it to the wall for stability. 30 inches seems idea, but given the space I am exploring 24 inch options. Cheers.
Not on there, you have to request them. Rogue is a lot like some of those restaurants with secret menus. You get a lot more options if you know what to ask for.
Not sure if you’ve touched on this before or not, but what made you choose to the monster rack (or any of the others with 1” bolts) over a monster lite rack? I’ve thought of doing the same, but all of the accessories are more expensive and I really like the Westside spacing in the bench hole section. Is there something I’m missing with the larger hardware?
I didn't find the westside spacing came into play much. I had a RML in the past and wanted to go beefier. The attachments for the Monster line are usually improved over their RML siblings, not to mention I like having the lining coated with extra UHMW to protect the rack. Lastly, it's easier to adapt to other brands if need be.
Hey Brandon, SAw this series back when it was new and now I’m in your exact predicament, temporarily moving somewhere for a year or so and need a smaller rack. I’m between the RM3 and the RML-390f Flat Foot. Any reason why you didn’t consider a flat foot rack? I can’t bolt things down either am I wasting my time with the flat foot variants? Thanks my man!
I just worry that it might lead to more wobble in the rack since the skis are more fixed vs 4 independent uprights. But that being said, I know a lot of people with them that love them.
@@BasementBrandon True. Well I already have my RM4 just gotta put that baby into storage. I am a bit concerned too about the wobble but I just don’t have the foot print space to have mini feet or collegiate feet to add stability to an RM3 let’s say Only other option for foot print I have is a squat stand Hmm I’ll let you know how it goes, wish me luck!
Brandon, would you say your new Monster Safety Straps felt 'broken-in' when you received them, or we're they just as rigid as your original Monster Lite Safety Straps, back when those were new and out of box? I recently received a 'new version' of the ML Safety Straps, (Rogue confirmed they're 4" shorter now, which is what they should have been all along in my opinion.) That said, they feel like a wet noodle, and not at all firm. Just wanted to know if your M Safety Straps are also this 'broken-in' feel to them, or if this is an anomaly with mine. Thanks in advance.
Most people have told me mine look too tight actually. My RML straps were way too long, I find these ones now are nice, but could be an inch or two longer as it's more of a pain in the ass to adjust them given they're not a j hook style like the RML versions.
@@BasementBrandon would you say they looked/felt "broken-in" when you got them, or just as rigid/firm as your previous Monster Lite version? my old ML straps vs. new ML straps are 4" longer (side by side) but what I liked about my old ones, was that they were extremely rigid and firm. @@BasementBrandon how's your rack since? Is there a big difference between the r3 and the 390c?
@@ran3532 great! biggest difference between those 2 racks is the size of the posts (2x3 vs 3x3) and the attachments available.
Looking forward to your thoughts on the slinger. I want to add one to my RM6 but I'm waiting for the weight stack option to come out for it. I'm running a Spud Inc high pulley off a monster shackle on a crossmember in the meantime.
initial impressions is that it's a mixed bag. I think the weight stack will be great, but in that case you'll also lose a big portion of your rack.
You can fix your overhead space issue by changing the garage door setup. Get a direct drive garage door opener that mounts on the wall and high lift tracks. It'll move the garage doors out of the way so you can workout with the doors open. Also with the openers on the wall you'll have tons of overhead clearance.
Smart idea, but It's only a short term rental, so don't want to sink money into that.
@@BasementBrandon Good call. Do you have a preference on which set of j-cups you use for different exercises, as well?
Skyler King I just really like the roll cups bc it allows me to reposition a loaded bar, but sometimes it’s nice having another pair of cups so if I’m changing bars or exercises it makes it easier to transfer plates.
Big fan of this video, as well as the playlist. Thank you so much.
Awesome, thank you!
I replaced one side of my safety strap bolts with 5/8 grade 5 hitch pins so I could easily remove then to use my lever arms and slinger.
Might have to do that, smart thinking.
@@BasementBrandon also for your next rack its easier to set them up solo if you use the band pegs to line up the bolt holes and hold things loosely in place while your bolting it together.

I am still working it out.
The Monk nope that sounds about right. Just longer side beams by about 13”
I thought you were being over the top when you said that "you thought you were going to die" when installing the Rogue name plate. That was until I built my RML-490c rack last night. That name plate is stupid heavy. I had to get the wife to put the bolts through, while I help the plate up. I don't know how you did that by yourself! 💪
Haha managed it somehow!
Go deep dish or ivanko for plates!
Vinegar and steel wool go a long way
Agreed, just not a lot in my area, been looking for a long time!
Can’t wait to see the video on the plates and how you came to that conclusion. Wicked rack, the series was awesome, good insight. Thanks again for your recommendation on the plates too
Thanks Gary, appreciate it!
Great video, knew you would get the rogue.
I can testify to Brenden being helpful with equipment, helped me with gym ideas!
ha i honestly tried to go a different route, but when I laid everything out, it was the best choice for me.
@@BasementBrandon haha i am sure.... I thought i wouldnt go rogue also as i sat building my rig on their website
Would love to see your plate decision making!!
Will do
As you have used racks from both RML and RM series, could you please do a episode comparing the two, especially in terms of design and durability? Thank you very much!
Durability should be no different, same steel, just different cuts which shouldn't impact it structurally!
Hi Brandon. Thank you for the reply. what about the bolts and inserts, since RML only use 5/8'' holes while RM use 1''?
陈栩 the Monster attachments sometimes are higher end (like the trolley arms for example) all the monster attachments are also lined with UHMW where they connect to the rack whereas the RMLs are not!
Bro.... I honestly think anyone who would buy a rack would be as neurotic about it as us, provided they'd bought before. There are so many little details that really make your training fun if you take them into consideration. I really like this little series you did. Nice work GANGBANGER
Thanks Sam!
I’ve been watching soooo many power rack/ gym equipment reviews. This is good informative content
I appreciate it!
Brandon how would you make rogue sml squat stand monster and monster lite squat stand more versatility, do you have any ideas for rogue Maybe add jammer arms to it. What would you do to add.💪💪💪👍👍👍🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️
TBH a conversion kit like they offer for some of their other squat stands would be a good start.
Should you maybe have received black zinc band pegs too? Thought they had those as well.
They ended up sending me some!
@@BasementBrandon Ah, good deal!
As a sort of beginner. How much weight and it what sizes should you buy in your opinion?
I think just picking them up 2nd hand locally makes teh most sense, need a pair of each for the most part, 2 pairs of 10s, and a few pairs of 45s
You don't ramble nearly as much as most UA-camrs on the subject. You do a really good job.
I appreciate that!
Yo bro what do you think about an Eleiko powerbar vs the Kabuki powerbar
I think if you're spending that much you should consider the Eleiko for sure. I think I said that in my Kabuki review a year or two back actually!
As weird as this is. I like that you have the big bolts on the front of the sign. It makes the sign look more rugged. Like when trucks have the large fender bolts lining their flared fenders.
Appreciate it!
Scary how much I relate to your gear-related O.C.D, B.C.D...
Hah great minds think alike!
go to a nuts and bolts place, they have black bolts there (just not shiny looking)
Gotcha!
Your a great man Brandon these videos should help a bunch of garage gym owners , I’m glad u went with Rogue they never let u down great products
I own rmlF and I love it I bought my big brother a rml490 and he loves it. 👍🏽
Hah I really tried to stray, but in the end it was the best rack!
Here in OZ we don't have as many Rogue racks to choose from. The one I am looking at is the RML 390F. I do like the one you have but not available in OZ. Thank you for the videos.
Ah yeah def tough outside of the US!
Where do they sell the roller j-cups?
They don't. It's a guy I know who makes them in his free time!
@@BasementBrandon I guess I'll check your Instagram for more info.
Nit pickin the over spray inside the uprights... LOL.....safety straps look a little stiff as well.
Coming from a RML it’s an important thing to point out 😝
@@BasementBrandon Are those safety straps too short or just stiff?
David Holzman neither!
@@BasementBrandon so why no slack? How do you angle them if they are so tight?
David Holzman they have slack still
Love the rack!
If you shoot me a DM on IG I'll link you to a person who owns one. I have not seen one in person.
@@BasementBrandon will do. Thanks a ton.
York has a decent price on their Legacy plates that are within 2% accuracy and sometimes runs sales and they look super slick.
I actually priced them out and it wasn't much of a savings vs what I got (and mine ended up being 1% accuracy).
What's the benefit of the 1" hardware?
My guess is it looks cool. It does add strength but these racks are going to hold more weight than most humans can lift. Unless you are Shaw, or Thor, or Ray Williams.
Wild Bill totally agree. Yes it’s technically stronger but I haven’t heard of anyone breaking 5/8” hardware yet. It really just for the looks.
I wanted the beefier set up, but also you get more standard upgrades like laser cut numbering on the posts, better attachments, and most companies also pad attachments with UHMW where it connects to the rack
Would you feel comfortable benching outside of the rack with spotter arms without it being bolted to the floor and without the extra feet you added?
No
On their website, I couldn’t find this in white? Price? And do they offer other colors?
Lots of color options!
Your videos helped me to make decision to purchase the right rack - thank you
Great to hear!
Brandon,
first of all, thank you for the information you have provided on your channel: it has answered a lot of questions I have had as I am in the final throes of the process of selecting the "right rack" and I am narrowing my sights on the Rogue RM-4.
Nice rack. Do you just have horse mats under the rack ? If so does the rack sink into the mats a lot making it unstable or uneven ?
@@irishvikingbear9690 ah they just had them in last week (around 100 I believe). If you're on FB, join the GarageGymReviews community as people usually post when they have them.

THEY'RE IN STOCK RIGHT NOW, HURRY.
So sweet!! Any issues with the black zinc hardware rusting? In Houston and wondering if I should worry about that or not.
I haven't had rust but it does fade with time.

Which company makes the J-cups with the roller bearing? Thanks for another great video...
These were made by an individual in his free time. I posted about it on my IG a week or so ago if you're interested.
I know I want a rogue. I don’t want a wall mount. How do I know what rack is best for me?? They are so many options
What's your budget, how much space do you have, and what are your training goals?
I have also being looking into rml-490c
My ceilings are about 110 inches so so far most racks will fit.
Looks nice, but serves no real benefit IMO and it's at a very steep price.
Rack is too heavy as is. Could also use the plate storage pins to weigh it down further.
Saw your shirt, are you Canadian??? Love your videos, helping me see what's possible with looking for a rack I won't have to bolt down
No sir, but I do support my northern brothers.
What make it worth buying a power rack over a squat rack if you don't squat over 500lbs?
Safety and versatility.
You can get some pretty cheap yet decent builds through Titan. Check out my x-3 video.
WOwww didn't know Rogue had that pulley system- i'm excited to see a review.
I am so onboard with Rogue and Sorinex now.
Initial impressions are not that great, hoping my opinion changes!
Make a video on the weights!
Looks like I'll have to do that.
Will you be cleaning/organising the garage as you are there for a set time or will you leave bits around the area
Will prob organize some but not much more. You should have seen it before we moved in lol.
Where did you get the J-hooks rollers from?
Which ones?
@@BasementBrandon
The custom ones with the white rollers.
What about al available accessories for this rack that you could get later
Sorry I don't understand the question, what do you mean?
Brandon Campbell Diamond If you can make a video on other accessories that are available for this rack you didn’t buy yet.
Are there any quality racks available at about the 70 inch height
They tend to be more budget friendly and offer less frills. Probably be looking more at squat racks in that case.
Very nice. Congrats and enjoy. Is that the fat pullup bar?
David Holzman nope just the regular!
Are you able to sumo deadlift inside this rack?
depends on your stance width.
No I would prob just have used more plate storage.
Do you think you could do banded deadlifts against those extended front legs without them bolted down or would they even work well for those?
I wouldn't suggest it
Awesome build !!! Brandon... I’m looking at a similar rack, do you recommend the weight storage add on or a weight tree ?
I don't like using weight storage on a 4 post rack personally, so I'd prob go weight tree.
What would be a good all around rack with safety's for a space that I have limited height? a power rack won't fit
How much height do you have?
What do you consider limited height?
I have just under 7ft in my basement
Tony Trimpe I’d suggest titan x2 short rack.
@@tonytrimpe4479 You can get decent options from Rep, BellsofSteel, Titan, etc. All are very similar in quality and offer short options. You could also consider a nicer (like Rogue) squat stand and get spotter arms. However in that case you have some other limitations and a higher cost.
Can do a video on elite fts sabertooth bench press bar please. Thanks
If I ever come across one!
If you add plate storage posts to the rack would it interfere with benching or squating? I ordered an rml390 and wondering if i need a plate tree. Thanks.
Depends on where you put the pegs and what side you bench/squat out of.
which hole sizing is better 1inch or 5/8? which has more after market accessories?
Both have a ton. I think you'll find the 3x3 tube with 1" holes seem to be the most consistent across the board however.
Did you already have the half rack feet? It doesn't seem like they sell them individually anymore.
You have to specially request them either in the comment section of your order, or call/email after placing.
@@BasementBrandon thanks
Just got the R-3 Power Rack. Experiencing some wiggle side to side though since it isn’t bolted down. Is that because I don’t have enough weight on plate storage? Would monster crossmember name plate help and/or even fit on the infinity series?
I would very much suggest bolting it down, it can tip quite easily if not. The monster name plate would not fit anyways.
Brandon be careful of that red wire you have wrapped in a circle above the left hand side of your rack when youre facing it. It can act like like a transformer when in a circle and generate heat and go on fire, spread it out but not in a circle, another great video cheers
Thanks for the heads up
Curious if your going to use a rep fitness bench or go rogue
I sold my Rep flat bench b/c my Rogue adjustable 2.0 made more sense with the limited space i have.
I think you should have gone with the RML-390F. Not 1” hardware, but does not require bolt down, can add plate storage and is 30”.
Didn't want 5/8", had it on my old rack. I also am not a fan of the flat foot design.
Brandon Campbell Diamond
To each their own...
Thinking about going with satin clear to avoid the "no paint in the inside of the uprights problem"
Thanks for pointing that out.
As always great review!
I have yet to use them as I initially thought I'd need to weigh the rack down but the front feet do an awesome job of adding stability.
Sure can! Just a matter of swapping the beams. Might even save you some money.
I’m trying to decide between a Rep HR5000 and PR4000... would be the best pick?
If you don't mind lifting outside of a rack the Hr5000 is great. If you want a lot of attachments, the PR is probably better.
Yes I want to know how you like rogues 6 shooters I was debating getting calabrated plates or just regular ones would like to know your comparison between them
Will likely do
Going through the right rack series now.
Is your garage floor at an incline? If it is how do you plan on dealing with it?
A shim?
I was worried about this going in, but I haven't noticed much
Hi Brandon, Any thoughts on 24 inch racks? I don't have a lot of space to work with and would bolt it to the wall for stability. 30 inches seems idea, but given the space I am exploring 24 inch options. Cheers.
24 is doable, 30 is preferable though.
Where on the website did you find those half rack feet i did not see those anywhere ?
Not on there, you have to request them. Rogue is a lot like some of those restaurants with secret menus. You get a lot more options if you know what to ask for.
Do you think the plate storage pins could double as neutral grip pull up handles if screwed into a top cross member?
Yes for sure.
can the lat pull down attachment from rep fitness fit this rack ?
No, rogue is 49" wide and Rep is 47"
Not sure if you’ve touched on this before or not, but what made you choose to the monster rack (or any of the others with 1” bolts) over a monster lite rack? I’ve thought of doing the same, but all of the accessories are more expensive and I really like the Westside spacing in the bench hole section. Is there something I’m missing with the larger hardware?
I didn't find the westside spacing came into play much. I had a RML in the past and wanted to go beefier. The attachments for the Monster line are usually improved over their RML siblings, not to mention I like having the lining coated with extra UHMW to protect the rack. Lastly, it's easier to adapt to other brands if need be.
Brandon Campbell Diamond Good to know. Thanks for the feedback!
But that being said, I know a lot of people with them that love them.
also if you want to upgrade the rack in the future you're limited with the flat foot one.
@@BasementBrandon
True. Well I already have my RM4 just gotta put that baby into storage. I am a bit concerned too about the wobble but I just don’t have the foot print space to have mini feet or collegiate feet to add stability to an RM3 let’s say
Only other option for foot print I have is a squat stand
Hmm I’ll let you know how it goes, wish me luck!
Do your weight pins get in the way when you bench and have plates stored on them?
I actually don't use them on this rack.
from the time you placed the order, how long did it take to receive it?
I don't recall the specific timeframe but know they hit the suggested time. I want to say it was 3-4 weeks.
The new version I received are borderline squishy!
What kind of matts / flooring are under your rack? Thanks
4'x6' stall mat from Tractor Supply
