    Yours and Basement Brandon’s gym is what inspired me to have mine. Similar set up as yours, atleast with the RM4, which will be converted to the rm6 with the weight and shelf storage. Ive got the short lever arms and a while back you recommended the solo mount pullup bars as handles. Ive since gotten both the 45degree and the neutral grips. They 45degree are amazing!! Im surprised youre still using those floppy handles. I also find using a 6 foot piece of conduit pipe to put in between the lever arms works best for shoulder pressing instead of attaching a pullup bar or using handles.

    Definitely curious about the pad on the 5200 vs. the GETRXD. Also are the articulating handles really worth the $$$? They really seem overpriced from just looking at them but maybe I’d feel different once I knew what all they were good for. A person could buy an entire Titan fitness power rack for the same money lol

      I'll cover the benches in a separate video...but I will say....the pads are basically identical (more or less the same grippy material used on the outside. I personally feel like the Get RX'd pad does feel a bit firmer than the 5200). As far as the articulating handles go.....I say pass!! lol. I have and RARELY use mine!! I vote to spend your money elsewhere!

    Hey Matt, of all your fid and fi benches, which do you like the best and why? And, if I’m in the market for a new bench, would you suggest I wait on the Manta Ray over any of the benches you have?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  Рік тому

      Hey! So that'll really depend on what your wants/needs are. If you don't care anything at all about about doing decline work, then my favorite is easily the REP AB-5200 (or the AB-4100 if you need something comparable but smaller/lighter)
      repfitness.com/collections/adjustable-weight-benches#6140b000cc3df
      If you need decline and want the best of the best then I can 100% say that the Manta Ray is LEGIT, but it will not come cheap (probably looking at over $1000 shipped!). One bench that has really caught my eye is the Griffin Fitness Adjustable Bench 2.0
      griffin.fitness/strength-equipment/griffin-adjustable-bench-2-0/#mattpend
      The specs look incredible and it's priced EXTREMELY competitive ($499 with free shipping) and has an optional leg attachment from decline work!
      Hopefully this helps!

    Sweet tour! Do you ever feel like your gym is too cramped? Also, what equipment choices would you do differently? (Besides the benches ;)

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I enjoyed filming this one! As far as being too cramped....at the moment...ABSOLUTELY! lol. I say that mainly due to the excessive amount of benches and where the multi shelf storage rack is currently located. I have plans to move it out of the gym space and into the back room of the garage soon (that'll free up a TON of floor space/will allow me to move the weight tree and 2nd bar holder up against the wall itself!!) I also have plans to sell off at least 2, possibly 3 of the benches (which will also gain me more space!)
      As far as would I do anything differently....NOPE! lol.. I've swapped so much stuff around/in/out over the years and what I currently have is basically a result of past trial and error! The only thing I would probably do differently is I MIGHT have sprung for the rack mounted lat pulldown/low row as opposed to the route I took only because I feel like it's more refined overall (not saying what I have is bad or anything, just isn't as clean/polished up). Great question!!

    Do you have any slop in your weight plate rack? I was watching another video review, and the individual was saying if he went less than 40lbs, the weight selector arm would come out of the plate rack making it unusable. Apparently it has a lot of wobble for him. I don't want to drop $1000 on it for it to suffer from a drawback that like vs just getting the plate rack. Speaking of the two, do you think the weight stack is worth it over the plate rack?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  2 роки тому +1

      You're probably referring to the video Travis made (I assume anyways as he does mention his and his issues in a video). I've actually talked to him a few times about what he's got going on and truly think something isn't quite right with his. I only notice the issue with mine if I drop down to a single plate or so and yank rapidly on the cable (due to the light weight, the selector rod isn't held perfectly in place, therefore it can shift slightly if yanked around and clip the edges going back into the weight holes)....If it makes you feel any better, my original life fitness functional trainer was the same way with such light weight!

Well yes, you're paying a considerable amount more for that convenience, to me it was totally worth it! I own both systems, therefore, I can say that the plate loaded option is actually smoother in my opinion due to the weight being basically free hanging as opposed to gliding on rods! However, with that being said, It's not enough of a difference for me to recommend going with it over the weight stack 🤷‍♂️. Again, for me it all came down to convenience

    Sweet gym, I think the moving shots are good but I think most were a bit fast. Also I think it would be better to have broken them up with some still images that could zoom in or out rather than having only scrolling shots so we don't get dizzy.
