I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

I dont like screwing equipment to concrete either. I've seen them come out many times. That's why I decided to mount my rack on a platform so it's all free standing and no holes in the floor.

I think the small rack is actually a good thing. It will force you not to squat slanted, which you shouldn't be doing anyway
I agree on the bolting down though that's a pain in the ass

Just a quick correction. They offer the flat foot version that doesn’t need to be bolted down and it’s heavier. You can’t attach bands to it. But another option you had was to bolt it down to plywood and stall mat platform. Would have been pretty sturdy too

I love racks but have issues with them. If the rack and bench aren't exactly straight my bench goes 10-20 pounds down. It feels awkward at times. Also I have a wider grip on the bar and on behalf of that I clip my pinky at times. I'll always prefer a bench alone but still use a rack.

I have purchased their international colored bumper plates. I love the colors for my gym. I recently sold my Rogue RML-390F and have been deciding if I want this rack or to upgrade to the Rogue RM3. I'm still leaning toward Rogue mostly due to being American made and for the resale value. If I decide to sell it later, I know that I can get most of my money back. I doubt I could say the same about the Rep rack. It also helps that I live close enough to Rogue to pick it up.

Nice video and detailed review. Noticed you put bands through the holes in the cross-members when doing banded squats. I would just caution you the the sharp edges of the holes could cause wear on your resistance bands leading to the bands snapping under stress.

TL;DR: Rep won’t replace substantially damaged parts if Rep deems the damage is “cosmetic.” You cannot call this a premium product when Rep won’t replace ugly, damaged parts. I’m beyond disappointed with the PR-5000 and I may return it at my own expense on principle. Feel free to DM me for pictures of the damage and screenshots of my interactions with customer service. I’ve seen others post similar stories on the r/homegym subreddit as well.
    Full experience below:
People need to understand something that UA-camrs may not be able to speak to because of influencer status. While Rep promises a premium experience, Rep’s customer service is not empowered to meet that expectation when it comes to damaged items. They promise a Rogue level product but provide a Titan level of quality control and dispute resolution.
I recently received a PR-5000. One of the four uprights has a deep gouge in the powder coat. It’s approximately two inches in length and a half inch wide and deep enough that you can see the bare steel. I’m not talking about on one of the feet or the top side of crossmember that’s easily hidden, this gouge runs on the numbered side of an upright from 48"-50", so only a couple feet below eye level. When I messaged Rep and sent pictures, Rep’s rep stated:
“I'm sorry to see that it sustained damage in transit. It appears to be solely cosmetic, which we can be thankful for. Due to this, I cannot sustain an argument to have the entire unit replaced. Nevertheless, in lieu of a replacement, we'd be happy to offer a partial refund of $30 or a gift card for $60.”
I’ll set aside the veracity of that assertion despite my belief the gouge pretty much rules out rust resistance in gouged area and consequently, any outdoor use. But even assuming Rep's right, this rack is overbuilt and excessive in almost every way imaginable-there’s not a lot you can do in here that you couldn’t do in a T3, at a fraction of the cost. What this review correctly indicates, and what Rep sells you on, is that it’s worth paying a premium for the aesthetics of 1” attachments, laser cut logos/numbers… Ultimately, a lot of the value is tied up in the look of it.
This rack costs well over a thousand dollars with shipping. My invoice was $1850. Other products in this price range include Rogue's competitors, Trek bicycles, iPhones/iMacs, designer clothes. Those companies send their defects to boneyard, or to outlets.
If I bought a MacBook and upon opening it, there was a crack in the screen or a dent in the aluminum, Apple would take it back and replace it. They wouldn’t say, “Safari still runs, here’s a $60 iTunes gift card.” If I bought a leather jacket with a tear in the sleeve, Nordstrom wouldn’t tell me that it will keep me warm. The $30 refund Rep offered amounts to a 1.6% rebate on the $1850 I spent with them.
What’s worse is their actual warranty and return website is misleading and deceptive. They claim that, “if your order was damaged during shipment, please contact us immediately so that we can direct you on how to return any times to us…. With the exception of… damages … all shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.” This is not a fair explanation of their process.
I’m beyond disappointed with them and I may return it at my own expense on principle.

    • @MohammadDakkak
      @MohammadDakkak  4 роки тому +2

As an “influencer” I am free to speak as good, or bad, about a brand as I see fair. With my own personal experience, I know things aren’t always perfect. I spoke about it in my recent video about the FB 5000, however my experience was totally different because it was a manufacturing defect. I’m sorry your rack isn’t perfect, but it’s not fair to judge a company’s quality based off shipping issues. I hope you get this issue resolved!

I just ordered an RML-3 since it's the smallest rack I could find and I'm setting up a home gym in my bedroom. Do you think I could manage not bolting it down if I don't plan on using bands or anything like that? I will probably never need to rack weight over 350lbs as that's where my squat 1RM is. I was planning to just lay down a 4' x 6' stall mat and placing the rack on that, but if I have to, I will add a wood platform layer below that and drill into the wood. Please let me know what you think! Thanks.

I've been looking at getting the PR-5000V2 for 2 months now but its never in stock! However, it seems that the only way to buy a power rack through REP. You would have to buy it piece by piece whenever they get stock in. Thats just crazy when I see other companies selling there power racks as a whole unit and shipped out together. If I end up buying a REP power rack. I'll have multiple orders. As I would have to wait for in stock on uprights, Crossmembers, logo plate, Pull-Up bar and all the other options. Shipping would be probably close to a $1000 having everything delivered separately. Which is pure insanity!! I put in my cart just (2) 41" crossmembers and that came out to $161 shipping!
So far I've made my 1st order from REP 19 days ago and I finally got noticed it was shipped.
    *FT-5000 functional trainer
    *AB3000 bench
    *2 dumbbell racks
    *2" 30ft battle rope
*3 machine attachments and a few other small things.
Thats about 1300lbs+ in weight shipped and my shipping cost was only $222.
For 4 crossmember bars.....$161??? The shit makes no sense!
REPs power racks look beautiful and like the options but I'm probably going to go with a Rogue Monster rack RM-6 2.0
At least I'll know that I'm getting a complete unit shipped to me and knowing the price. Where as REP you can't see the prices unless they show its in stock. Showing on the website $899-$2976 isn't helpful for someone when they are working with a budget and need to factor prices in with the accessorie options. REP website is more tedious, not user friendly or helpful. They make it too much work trying to figure everything out piece by piece

FYI bolt size on these rigs is total marking hype and overkill. A single grade 5 bolt at 5/8ths diameter has a tensile strength of nearly 30,000 pounds, and 72,000 for a 1 inch bolt. There are 16 one inch bolts on that rig with a combined 1.15 million pound feet of tensile strength.

I live in NY. I love reps products. My only miner complaint about them is how making the power rack built to your accommodations is cool. But it's annoying how much to pay for shipping and handling and it breaks the bank. Great info... unfortunately I just got my Rogue RML but you mentioned Rep 4000 series attachments is compatible to Rouge RML, is that correct? I noticed the pricing is much affordable with Rep. Please let me know. Thanks!

This has possibly been said already, but you keep comparing the Rep PR5k v2 with an RML 3. That Rep rack is much more comparable to an RM 3 (Rogue Monster 3). RM solves all the problems you mention. First, the short depth, it's available in 30" depth (or just go with an RM4). Second, the hole diameter, RM use 1" hardware. Third, the RM is available in a sexy powdercoat just like that one. Of course... you pay the premium $$ for the Rogue name and awesome American construction. So.. you get what you pay for, but Rogue can definitely provide it... I use an American Barbell 48" rack at home, I guarantee that faka is heavier than either of those options :) :)

I would have, however I’ve heard lots of mixed experiences with Titan. Some people have no problems with them, some don’t. Also Rep is a local company for me 👍🏻

REP PR-5000 is the equivalent of the monster series. Pointless to compare it to the monster lite lineup..

I’d do what you did if i lived in the Colorado area for sure though. Smart move

It''s very nice and looks like superb quality but it's too expensive... I bought mine years ago.. and It's a crappy brand Powertec squat however, I got it for 400 dollars shipped to Texas.. How can you beat that and so far ... it has not fallen apart whatsoever even though it's outside battling the elements...

I mean the rack tipping was pretty much on you man, Putting a bunch of weight on 1 side is asking for trouble. The only thing holding it steady was the barbell u had on it, you unracked and it tipped.
