In Australia both saws are the same price. I’ve run both over a weekend and went with the Stihl slightly better power in our hardwoods but it was the lightness that sold me
Very good comparison my friend. My experience compared between this 2 saw, stihl plastic cover more hard/stronger than husky if fall but husky engine is more durability and endurance. The crankshaft of new stihl model not so good for daily use ,sorry my bad english
Both saws are nearly impossible to find right now. My Stihl dealer is located in a logging area of the Pacific Northwest. They sell a lot of saws. They have not seen a 462 since August of 2020. They are still waiting for more. 572 is the same.
I don’t know about “equal”. The Stihl is much lighter, cuts almost 10% faster with much better throttle response and is super smooth as well. That in itself should answer the question of what saw to carry around all day... the lighter one that cuts faster.
Dominick Luchi 8.3% ... combined with very significant difference in weight (.6kg) and throttle response this should be a no brainer. However, once both saws are ported things will be a lot more equal.... except for the weight of course.
462 bogs under load, fuel-thirsty, and I have trouble keeping the chain tight maybe it's the Australian hardwood. for a 72cc its a couple of pound liter starts up nice, love the carby air cleaner.
This didn’t prove anything in my opinion. The small difference in time could very well be the difference in the sharpness of the chain. I’m not knocking the video, just stating my opinion. I’ve always been a Stihl fan and have a lot of Stihl products, but my next chainsaw purchase will be a Husqvarna. Stihl products just don’t run as well as they used to. I’ve had four Stihl weed eaters and only two are still operable. I bought a Redmax weed eater a couple years ago and it runs circles around any of the Stihls. I still have my first Stihl chainsaw that I bought 38 years ago and it is in good running condition, made back before epa forced so many regulations on them. Everyone has different opinions and experiences with each but from what I’ve seen and used lately, Husqvarna is hands down better.
so in one cut in perfectly clean wood the chain dulled that much? I would have to disagree. We did another test cut with the 462 the next day and got a 38.1. Tree monkey tests in the cut oak lumber banned together so that there is no question on if the wood caused a problem.
Redbull661, I’m not saying one cut dulled the chain. I’m saying the difference in the sharpness of each chain could make a two second difference. If both are brand new off of the same roll of chain, then they’re shouldn’t be any difference. Otherwise it’s highly doubtful for the chains to be 100% exactly the same sharpness.

Thanks for video. These saws are always neck and neck. It has taken me a year to decide on which I was going to go with and I am going with Husky. Here is why: Husky has better customer service. Stihl's customer service line is horrible. Long wait and not knowledgeable. Husky is top notch. Stihl priced too high, should be the same as Husky. Please confirm someone, but I think the Stihl has a very expensive spark plug. Husky does not.
Say what you will BUT in my area the stihl shops are sensitive about feedback from corporate. The Husky shops have pricing on accessories but no tags on saws ? , I made three inquiries in three separate trips and got three different quotes ... by an "enthusiast" owner .
@@jeffreyrudolph5061 That sounds great, you can pick the one with the lowest price for the same saw. Id rank Husky customer support 5/10 and Stihl 1/10.

I got my 572 for 800 US dollars out the door with a bar and chain. I dont know what kind of deal I could get on a 462, but I doubt its that affordable.
Husky does 10% for first responders and military. I paid $1000 for my 572 before I knew that. But I just paid $450 for a 550XP Mark 2 on a promo sale plus the first responder. You cant beat that. This might be an option for some people.

the ms 462 has a mod muffler, so it’s not a fair comparison, you can see by the noise

Basically equal. What
was the "feel " of these? In other words, running all day, which would you grab?
The stihl is much lighter, and runs quite smooth as well. A pound never bothered me much.
