      7. UW is properly ranked. UW fan, but Oregon had more passing yards, had more rushing yards, had more total yards (obviously), had more first downs, had fewer turnovers, an won the time of possession battle. It's not as if UW were clearly better than UO today. Oregon just had crappy coaching with some disastrous 4th down decisions.

    Easily the single best sports event I have been to. The first half itself felt like an entire game of tension. Oregon completely erased the UW 11 point lead and was gaining yards all day, it was shocking that the UW made that stand on 4th down. Then to go down the field and score, and then the kick and the field rush. Amazing!

    The first two fourth downs I can understand Lanning going for it. Oregon usually converts on 4th and short. However the final one at Washington’s 45ish I think you have to punt. Washington has no timeouts. You could possibly pin them inside the ten. Regardless, great game from both teams and I hope we see a rematch later this year

      Yeah this is the kind of loss that I wouldn't drop them out of the top 10. Both of these teams are good teams, and Oregon didn't necessarily play bad. Just a couple key plays/decisions made the difference. This is the type of win/loss we could see both teams move very little in the rankings unless something dramatic happens, and it likely won't affect their chances if another team stumbles later in the year.

    I was at this game. It was an absolute madhouse in Husky Stadium. Oregon may have won if they had chosen to punt on that 4th down play. By turning the ball over on downs, the Ducks gave the Huskies a short field, and they took advantage of that. The Ducks still could have sent it to overtime, but missed the FG. I grew up in Oregon, but now live near Seattle, so I cheer for both teams. This was definitely one of the most exciting football games I've ever seen - really just incredible. (I had to bail on my D&D game [not actually D&D, but easier reference to just call it that] that night, I was too depressed.) And as though for an encore, both my football teams that were playing the next day lost in the same fashion, a missed field goal that would have either won the game or sent it to overtime.
    As a result the biggest triumph in the sporting world for me this past weekend was that my Marble Team qualified for the Marble League. Which I AM happy about, but still.... Yeah... it was not a good weekend for my teams. Hoping the Chargers can give me a decent ending tonight. (Though I don't hold out a lot of hope. Got a pretty good offense, but the defense is too full of holes.)

      @CaptainXD Рік тому +3

      @@Kurto2021 the clock would have started almost immediately and they'd either have to burn the timeout or rush another play. defense wasn't "reeling", they were playing prevent coverage allowing short yardage gains. felt very staged, they were only able to do that specifically because they got the first down and I have a feeling the team is coached to do that if they get first downs during 2-minute drills

    Just like last year's game..Late in the 4th the Ducks had 4th and 1 inside their 35 yard line w/the game tied at 34. Instead of punting and pinning UW deep, they ran the ball and the RB slipped behind the LOS for a loss and UW took over and got the GW field goal
    Deja Vu again on that 4th and 3 with over 2 minutes left-instead of punting the Ducks missed and UW gets the winning TD
    The two missed 4th downs inside the Husky 10 yard line cost them at least six points and the game

      Why? Oregon had two good shots to win it. First on the 4th down play itself and then later on the final drive of the game. If the offense executed either time, they win. If their defense keeps the huskies out of the endzone, they win. Shame on the players not the coach lol

      it was smart play. Penix is Heisman front runner. They had 2 1/2 minutes. Field position dont matter. They are out of Timeouts. A first down wins the game.
