@@Dunnerski exactly. The whole system is built around human death. This a system that has been in existence forever. Clearly Davoth didn't like that system and rebelled against it, which is why they locked him away in his realm.

Great vid. The Father might have good intentions but his own hubris was dictated his actions in the end. Not too different from the original creator. In the end, eveyone got owned by the Doom Slayer, including himself.
Why would the Father abandon the Mykers if he knew they needed him in order to make a new Khan every 10,000 years? The excuse given was that "they didn't want Davoth to break free", but specifically goes to Earth knowing that humans would discover Argent energy. We also know the Sarephem exist outside of all known universes and are watching us from where Davoth came from.
But where do the wraith come from? They seem to have their own thing going separate from the rest and their own unique godlike abilities and technology seemingly beyond even the makers. They make me feel like there is some even bigger threat out there and these beings are just pawns in a greater multiverse. Because why did they build a planet sized ship that's indestructible and launch themselves at a planet to transform it's creatures into a warrior race? There is some huge untold story potential there obviously! I haven't played the later games but the lore is getting very, almost lovecraftian you could say.
@@DeathBYDesign666 the wraith also had the Saraphs watching from inside the ship. And Remember the Father said "He is worthy" before the wraith allowed that bridge to rise from the water. Clearly the father and wraith are connected.

I love listening to your stuff because you always make them engaging and cinematic. Keep up the good work and have a good day bro.
Davoth says before our final battle "I give purpose to life, where there is none." .. This makes it sound like Davoth knows the truth about creation, like he knows that humans are nothing but pawns in a "Ritual" beyond all comprehension. His existence gives OUR lives meaning, what did he mean by that? Perhaps Davoth, upon finding out the truth, tried to rebel against the True God which is why he was sealed away. This would explain how a Non- primeeval, The Myker father, was able to defeat him.
Unless the creators are going for some lovecrafting lore I think it may be not so much a ritual, as it is a factor added to make Creation more entertaining to it’s creator. I don’t mean in the meta way, I mean that an omnipotent being created creation as form of entertainment, watching flawed beings have to deal with problems and things that can overcome(something that would be Alien to an omnipotent being)
Finally a lore video that explains that the doomslayer lost the divine power that he gained from the divinity machine that was powered by a shardof devoths soul sphere.
This was cool! My personal therapy was that given davoth couldn’t stop entropy (death) he was most likely an immensely powerful and long lived being that would appear to be immortal. I would also point out the fact that we (with some of his power) could kill him bolsters this.
Hugo Martin said "only a primeval or something greater can defeat another primeval", and specifically says this is why Doom Guy was able to beat Davoth. So then how was the father, a creation of Davoth, able to beat him? By the laws of that multiverse, that should be impossible... Unless the father was being helped by something Greater, for example the being who created Davoth.
@@mado-wh4jv I feel like that completely undermines the importance of "only a primeval or greater can beat a primeval". Davoth is the most powerful being in the multiverse, until doom guy shows up.
I bought doom eternal on day one release like years ago... but after finishing it i never bothered with the DLCs ... after watching this i just bought the DLCs and will play the whole thing over again :)
The story may have many incoaistencies, but turning "God's" fate into being a computer program powered by Hell (IntHell Inside) was probably the most interesting aspect of all of this. Doom Guy's motivations and character development are a little weak, but it's a fun game that did everything right in terms of updating the franchise to new hardware.
its so cool how the beginning of your vid reads like higher dimensional scifi. like a creature that lived in such a higher realm that death wasnt a thing until it brought life to the 4th and 3rd dimension. which in of itself caused death to be a factor due to time being the 4th dimension.
So, basically, Doom Guy - before he was turned into the Doom Slayer - stopped a Hell Invasion on Mars, travelled to Hell, defeated the Icon of Sin in Hell and reached (on purposed or accidentally) Argent D'nur, right? Argent D'nur was alredy under the control of the Khan Maykr, and Doom Guy was integrated in the ranks of the Night Sentinels to fight the demonic invasion of Argent D'nur (Said invasion was, directly or indirectly, within the responsibility and command of the Khan Maykr who herself fell under the influence of the Dark Lord). While influencing the Khan Maykr, the Dark Lord also influenced Sam to infuse his (the Dark Lord's) essence in Doom Guy, so he could become the Doom Slayer and fight the Dreadnaught? But how did Argent D'nur fall to the demonic invasion? Why is there Argent Energy in Hell? Were some pieces of Argent D'nur absorbed by Hell? Was the fall of Argent D'nur only possible after the imprisonment of the Slayer in the Cursed Sarcophagus? Did the Dark Lord weaved a web of manipulation so convoluted and complex that involved the destruction of entire worlds and primordial beings just so the Slayer would resurrect him?
We need a third game in this timeline to iron things out lol. Hugo did say he wanted a much more different gameplay style in the next entry in an interview from 2021 and people now are saying there is a rumour of a prequel game that takes place before Doom 64 judging by a comment here.
Yes. Turns out doomguy lead the demons to space Viking world by accident cause they we're following him. Later got god power, became doom slayer, killed a lot of demons like a bad mofo, later priest and Khan bitch learn about hell energy is cool and made argent energy through refine torture souls, doomguy and squad learn of bullshit, civil war happens in 40k planet, doomguy and squad travel to hell again to destroy soul refinery place but got trick instead and now separate, whole squad dies expect doomguy cause he cooler and betrayer dude. Doomguy goes on infinite killing spree to the point now all of hell demon learn what true fear is to one doomguy, later trap doom guy in rumble and rock knocking him out, put him in coffin motel hotel holiday inn as only means of stopping him, later doomguy wakes back up in another mars place because multiverse travel can happen in hell if you walk far enough, same bullshit that happen with his og mars place but now he cooler god power doomguy now with sicker power suit, stop demon invasion on Mars but robot squid guy stop him cause he thinks doomguy's gay and stupid and doomguy gets send off somewhere lame and stupid, later robot guy and squad fucked again so hell on earth the squeakqual happens. Then doom eternal occurs.
It would be cool if the future doom games focused a little more on the psychological aspects of the demons. They are very cunning as well as brutal. The demons obviously can't defeat the doom slayer physically. So it makes sense they would try mentally. For example his wife and son could be in hell being tortured and the demons offer them back in exchange for his surrender. But the doom slayer remembers the deal they made with the betrayer and how they screwed him over. So the doom slayer could go berserk and go on a rampage through the arena. It would be a very cool moment story wise and also gameplay wise.
Is it really accurate to call the father the villain? The father may have stolen the power of his creator, but it *was* because his creator had become very corrupt.
Had he, tho? I thought the corruption occured after they sealed him in his own realm. Before that he just wanted immortality for his people. I mean, we have no reason to trust the word of the Maykr., The Father, or any of these beings. I'm with Doomguy on this one. Rip and Tear them all.
How do you know Davoth became corrupt and that it wasn't just a lie? The Mykers do a lot of lying and it's clear that the story of Davoth we have been given has been altered to fit an anti-davoth narrative when in reality there is clearly a much bigger threat.
forgot to include the fact this all started cause doom guy was mad demons took and killed his bunny in an alternate time line that after he killed the 1990s icon of sin was kidnapped from that time line and made into the slayer
I'm not too sure I'd call the Father a villian. It's not made clear (unless I missed something) if the Seraphim that became the Father was directly involved in imprisoning Davoth to begin with. But lets assume he was. All he ever really did was try to keep Hell contained and make sure the races and the Maykrs were left alone by Hell. I always argue that non of this might have happened had they not imprisoned Davoth to begin with. In the end, Samyr Makyr seems more of the secondary antagonist. But he is the will of the Father as well I suppose. It's a tough call. I'm curious what happens to the dimensions after the Gods influence has ceased. If they just kept their fingers in their own business, maybe peace would just have been natural.
I cannot be certain but im pretty sure this story was influenced by the wad Eviternity, which has basically the same plot. Except the villain is called "Archangelus"
Thank you so much for such detailed lectures. I just listened to the part about Khan May kr, now I'm listening to this one. And may I ask, please, where did these drawings come from? 17:02, 17:37 Is it possible to view them in full size somewhere?

What if the secret of immortality threatend all creation because creation was DESIGNED by the True god, to die. Davoth came through the void and created Jakkad and the first humans but clearly he was not their true creator, since he couldnt control their mortality. Immortality is a direct threat to the true meaning of creation and its purpose, THAT'S WHY the Mykers betrayed Davoth and sealed him away then continued to make and consume dimensions with his stolen power. This could also be why the Mykers say that they are letting OTHERS sacrifice in their place so that they may prosper. They need the argent energy to keep from transfiguration, which is what they were originally designed to do.
So you mean to tell me that vega and samuel wont get attacked when doom guy are away becuase there pretty much dooms version of god and diciple, also when the slayer made a new version of vega was actually adorable
I think the Father was a mix between good and bad, he saw his creator fall into madness because of his fear of being alone but how he did it was wrong. Then tried erasing Davoth from thier history, because his people was the one who created hell by not giving what he wanted. By the Codex, Davoth really loved his people and wanted them to have the best life possible but was limited to what he could do. Any god would be frustrated🤷🏽♂️.
I mean, like you've stated, Davoth has eventually became corrupted that he would later use his powers for evil. I mean, it's not like the Father had a choice but to stop his madness.
Soon or later Davoth would became more and more evil. Father or a proto Father forseen this. He was correct to lock Jekeard and Davoth from other dimensions. It was the only way. The mistake was not kill Davith when was possible.
not saying he's neccesarily a "good guy", but he's not really the slayers enemy, helps him for the entire thing, albeit in the form of vega partially unaware (it's still the fathers personality). wouldnt call him a villain he did might have done an oopsy or two though
I dont feel like Father was either hero or villain, he was simply doing whatever it may have been he thought was right. Hell, he doesn't even seem to completely mind nor be bothered by the fact he may never get to have a physical form ever again. Meaning he generally isn't going to be a bad guy. His past actions say he sort of was, but thats not who he was now. All his experiences as VEGA helped to bring something to him he never had before, which is the experience of a normal life. Albeit in a bit of a twisted way. Even if he wss a giant mechanical machine, he still interacted with humanity, talked to them, was friendly and made friends with them. Saw them go throughout their days so on and so forth. This is something he personally never ever did when he had his physical body. Giving him experiences that told him that it was likely for the best that he wasn't given his body back, nor could. As a sort of self punishment to himself for failing every single time on everything and so he may never be corrupted or tainted by evil ever, as his own race had been.
Not just in Doom and Berserk. Fromsoft's RPG's are full of selfish, psychopathic, or otherwise malevolent deities wanting nothing but power and the ability to prolong their own existence.
1.1 Davoth the original master of Serverer. 1.2 Later Davoth was betrayed by the Serverer. 2.1 Serverer the 1st original Makyr & the Father of their race & then become their god. 2.2 Later Father was betrayed by the Khan Makyr. 3.1 Khan Makyr now become the rules of the Urduk & their god. 3.2 Later Khan Makyr was betrayed by the Samur Makyr. 4.1 Samur Makyr was fled to earth then become Samuel Hayden. 4.2 Samuel then betrayed his own Father & then turned him into Vega. 5.1 Then Samuel faces some difficulties into UAC. Especially with Olivia Pierce. 5.2 Later Samuel was betrayed by the Olivia Pierce. Well now rest you know the best. Because these whole thing plot around on the basis of Betrayal. Just like the God Father movies.
The problem I forsee is that while the Doom Slayer destroyed the Fathers life sphere, where did all of that power go? Did it simply evaporate into the ether? It has to be out there somewhere, and the Father probably has a way to reaquire it with all the systems of Urdak at his disposal. It wouldnt surprise me if the next game was either during the Fathers attempt at aquiring his power or already has.
The irony of course being that literally all the Father had to do to prevent any of this was to at some point decide that enough is enough and that perhaps the life of their creator was not as important as everybody else.
Also I never really understood why the Slayer decided to destroy the Sphere of the Father. It wasn't necessary to get the Sphere of the Dark Lord. Instead it just kind of seemed... petty and unnecessary.
Hello @Skyrionn. I wanted to ask and really hoping you can answer my question. At 1:21 in the clip, how are you able to no clip and move the camera during an in-game cutscene in real-time? I've been looking into how to do these myself for a long time without success. Would you be willing to share how you were able to do this?
The external drive has enough space on it to hold his data. It does not have the capabilities to actually run him. IIRC, we don't hear from VEGA again after destroying the super computer he was on. It isn't until Doom Eternal that we actually hear from VEGA again, since Doomguy ends up putting VEGA inside the Fortress of Doom's system, which I'm assuming has insane levels of energy to power VEGA's data, seeing as it's Argenta tech.
I figure through truth for immortality to Devoth’s subjects was what the Conmaker discovered through Earth. Equivalent-exchange. Something of equal or greater value must be sacrificed. But it is folly because this act corrupts ultimately. Mankind was at the precipice itself when finding Ardent D’Nur.
Keep in mind that the sun itself gives off a shit load of watts and Sentinel batteries were shown to have stupid amounts of power in them. The real question is who TF thought that a MF as big as vega fits in a thumbdrive
How do we know the God who created Davoth didn't do so with the intention of harvesting humans? Hugo Martin said that Davoth and Doom Guy are basically the same, but Davoth failed to save his world, Doom Guy didn't. Save their world from what? What was Davoth trying to defend his world from? Clearly there is some grand scheme made by the TRUE god that doesn't have humans best interest in mind...
Also when Doom Guy kills the Khan Myker, who is the one screaming "Noooooo..." what purpose was she providing to the True realm of the God's? Why was there such a reaction when she was killed?
i guess the next game will be about the wraiths. they'll probably use a shard from the wraith ship to resurrect the slayer so he can kill whoever needs killing next.

I want to know why the Mykers thought that the secret of immortality was too dangerous for Davoth to know. Because obviouslly he became something just as dangerous if not more so without the secret. Plus Davoth is already immortal, so why were the mykers scared about giving the humans immortality?
Because they needed humans to die
@@Dunnerski exactly. The whole system is built around human death. This a system that has been in existence forever. Clearly Davoth didn't like that system and rebelled against it, which is why they locked him away in his realm.
Look at what the Khan became with immortality
Although the process or Argent energy is poorly explained and may well have been around before Davoth, which he may have become disillusioned with
@@TetrohedraconI’m curious, do you mean that Death is unbreakable rule of existence or do you mean that they discover how to make themselves immortality but it requires the death of mortals.
It's called bad writing. 😒
Damn man, you just don't stop dropping these epic videos! Just when I think you've covered everything you go even deeper on specific and each individual aspect of the lore. But should come as no surprise going by your epic track record on Half Life lore!
Amazing work, as always! Hoping you get a million subs!
Idk why but doom guy clicking the button to make a copy of vega the way he did was such a funny moment. Little touches like that add so mcuh personality somehow its great
Great vid. The Father might have good intentions but his own hubris was dictated his actions in the end. Not too different from the original creator. In the end, eveyone got owned by the Doom Slayer, including himself.
Thanks for watching. I agree with everything you said.
Doomguy is so powerful that he even owned himself
If the father didn’t stop devoth. Then eventually an Armageddon would still occur anyway. It was all a self fulfilling prophecy at the end.
I'm hoping that in a new Doom game - we'll get some more information and maybe something to fill in these issues.

Within the first minute of the video the whole hypothetical question made one quote come to mind

I remember your full doom slayer timeline, still one of my favorite video. One of my other one of your favorite videos is your full Portal and Half Life timeline. Anyways, I will say what I think of your video when I am done lol. But I'm sure it will be high quality like usual. :)
Again, another great video. I love listening to your stuff because you always make them engaging and cinematic. Keep up the good work and have a good day bro.
Wow, thanks!
Oh that Doom Slayer video has nothing on the entire Doom timeline I'm planning!
Thanks for watching :) I appreciate you.
@@Skyrionn Thank you for making awesome content.
Much like Davoth gave the Mykers technology, perhaps the next higher level of being gave the father some gift
Unless the creators are going for some lovecrafting lore I think it may be not so much a ritual, as it is a factor added to make Creation more entertaining to it’s creator. I don’t mean in the meta way, I mean that an omnipotent being created creation as form of entertainment, watching flawed beings have to deal with problems and things that can overcome(something that would be Alien to an omnipotent being)
Magnificent video, Skyrionn. Thank you for your efforts.
Thanks Auron! I appreciate you!
Thanks for the upload. Love listening to all your vids. Calming to listen to and informative.
Glad you like them!
23:51 That Revenant seems very pleased.
Pre-damnation Urdak looked pretty cool too.
I heard him say that the father was able to beat Davoth with some type of technology, so I guess that technology was just insanely powerful.
@@bringerofpain666the holy technology called Plot Convenience.

Something went a little wrong there haha
I bought doom eternal on day one release like years ago... but after finishing it i never bothered with the DLCs ... after watching this i just bought the DLCs and will play the whole thing over again :)
Brilliant video. The care you put into this production is incredible. Thank you.
These triforce cycles get crazy in the future lmao poor link~
its so cool how the beginning of your vid reads like higher dimensional scifi. like a creature that lived in such a higher realm that death wasnt a thing until it brought life to the 4th and 3rd dimension. which in of itself caused death to be a factor due to time being the 4th dimension.
1: yes
2: hell essence
3: umbral plains, great steppe and the well
4:also yes
5: the deal was struck with khan maykr and maybe no
@@ThatGuy-ky2yf the prequel of doom 64 is doom 2 hell on earth

Great video. Thanks for filling the plot holes not explained or hard to connect in the game. This was satisfying
This is such an old school game thing. God damn this gets deep.
The real villain is whoever decided not to tell Devoth about the immortality findings.
I love your videos man, keep making these videos, your videos vary in very good games like Valve games and Doom games. ❤
Davoth was the true hero of this story. Those pesky Maykrs
The Creator only became corrupt AFTER the Father stole his power, not before. Before he was loving being with benevolent goals.
How do you know Davoth became corrupt and that it wasn't just a lie? The Mykers do a lot of lying and it's clear that the story of Davoth we have been given has been altered to fit an anti-davoth narrative when in reality there is clearly a much bigger threat.
@@Skyrionn No...Davoth wanted to wipe out everyone. He was certainly not the hero.
You again have great explanatory and deep researches, into this debate now and presentation! Well done buddy, you are creative/artist indeed!
forgot to include the fact this all started cause doom guy was mad demons took and killed his bunny in an alternate time line that after he killed the 1990s icon of sin was kidnapped from that time line and made into the slayer
Gotta love a new Skyrionn drop
the idea of a god turning itself into an AI for the purposes of doing more is honestly a stupidly compelling one IMO

You have a very calming voice. It's very pleasing to listen to.
Best summed up Doom lore... Thank you so much man!
These was incredibly made. Glad that I found it. Thank you my good sir!
I had no idea that Doom had such an interesting story... great video!
I cannot be certain but im pretty sure this story was influenced by the wad Eviternity, which has basically the same plot. Except the villain is called "Archangelus"
crazy how similar it is to some writtings we know today.. kinda makes me wonder if we too worship someone who stole the power of the original creator.
I really like the Bethesda DOOM lore and you do a great job pulling it all together🙏
Thank you for making this I cannot be bothered to read all the codexs’ and this helped me understand what is going on

What doesn’t make sense to me is how the doomslayer ‘loses’ his power but the father (who also got his power from the dark lord) is perfectly fine
Doom Slayer is basicly a God of war but kills everything that's demonic or evil

"Any god would be frustrated🤷🏽♂"
For some reason, I just find the way you phrased that to be hilarious, idk why.
@@spencerthestupidsamurai7326 it's true😂 like ours
I mean, like you've stated, Davoth has eventually became corrupted that he would later use his powers for evil. I mean, it's not like the Father had a choice but to stop his madness.
Soon or later Davoth would became more and more evil. Father or a proto Father forseen this. He was correct to lock Jekeard and Davoth from other dimensions. It was the only way. The mistake was not kill Davith when was possible.
not saying he's neccesarily a "good guy", but he's not really the slayers enemy, helps him for the entire thing, albeit in the form of vega partially unaware (it's still the fathers personality). wouldnt call him a villain
he did might have done an oopsy or two though
In the beginning…(started to eat popcorn after a long day)

Fathers get no breaks even in video games these days...
How could the "external drive" sustain Vega, if it took extreme levels of heat/power to sustain him?

I can imagine this may have upset some of the religious folk
Very well explained story. Thank you!
The earth needed to find a power source? We have infinite power already, but chose not to use it.
I'm confused if the father stole davoths power, how then was davoth still a threat?
We finally have the answers when before. We had none.
It's funny how VEGA needed 3 trillions of watts to work, then a small ship could power him. And the a pendrive!
Keep in mind that the sun itself gives off a shit load of watts and Sentinel batteries were shown to have stupid amounts of power in them. The real question is who TF thought that a MF as big as vega fits in a thumbdrive
