- Hi friends today I am going to show how to make 48v battery pack from scrap laptop battery.
Here I collect li-ion batteries from scrap laptop battery pack some cells in the batteries are dead but almost of them are good cells inside.
Before use It is better to test the current of the cells by a balance charger,
You can get 13S BMS Here : amzn.to/2MqNjQJ

Don’t miss the next video. How to put out a fire in a giant battery made of unbalanced cells
lol
Seriously a very clandestine way to make such a big battery. No way I am putting this bomb anywhere near me.
'unbalanced '? You see the balancer being connected about half way in.
@@patdbean if 2 cells are in parallel and then lower voltage cell will get damaged
@@ducky504 Quite , 'parallel ' cells just balance themselves , in a 20p7s battery the balancing board works across the 7s
Omg man, you just built a time bomb. Those bms balance wires between two layers of cells, under pressure. Shorts between balance wires is the most causes of a lithium cells run in fire. WHAT A MESS.
Not to mention he soldered the tin to the battery (don't use solder directly on the 18650)! Spot weld only.
@@AllAroundTube50 up next how to put out an E bike fire.
@@AllAroundTube50 Some people just use what they have, not everyone has a spot welder. I soldering all my connections to around 300 batteries, has been working great for 4 years and the cells only need balancing twice a year.
@@mar504 WOW he can buy a heat gun but cant buy a cheap spot welder? think again totoy
@@AllAroundTube50 Whats wrong with soldering wires to the battery? If done correctly it is as good as a spot weld. Just not as pretty...
Very complex connection bro without subtitles still complicated to understand.
Anyway thank you for your video
Great effort
Good luck
Excellent project, thanks for sharing it. One question, what calculation did you do to determine that the full battery is 50AH?
and guys from a battery designer and builder here, soldering a lithium cell is quite ok ,as long as your soldering skills are professional level ,and have the right tools ,dremal to use mini wire wheel, and have killed spirit flux and an etch flux and correct cleaners ,and a magnetic heat sink that we put straight onto the soldered joint to instanly strip the heat out
we also use high wattage soldering irons usually 100 watt ,they allow you to get the solder down and take much much faster than a lower wattage iron ,with the lower wattage you have to heat the cell longer to build the heat up
only 4k likes.you need more bro
How do you know the cells discharge rate ? Or are you basing all the parallel cells at a lower discharge rate, the purple ones can discharge at a max of 10A while the others may only be 5A or lower, if that's the case the purple cells will force the others to discharge at a higher rate creating heat and eventually cell failure
Look up "18650 cell data base" on Google and click on the fourum
WRONG! They will all pull proportional to every other cell in parallel group.. that would only be the case if the was a 4-6 p battery with low amp laptop cells and say something like a 25r 20 plus amp cell... Otherwise equal distribution and will pull exactly equally

And then you selled it in ebay and title was "NEW 48V 80AH BATTERY 100%SAFE AND WORKING!
lol
Thankyou, finally someone showing how to make a double layer pack👍👍👍👍

Looks good have not used it yet
A good lesson at the end there for computer overclockers of how to test stability of your system Give your pc a real world test such as games you play maxed out - don't give it artificial benchmark tests overnight to see how it does. That's like testing a boxers chin with a hammer - not real life. Thanks for the video, enjoyable.
Just great 😌😌👌👌👌
crazy build!
Sir kitne din tak chalegi iss battery pack se matlab kintne cycle hogi is battery me
Excellent
Can you please tell me how to calculate 50ah
how much each cell mah
Thanks
5:16, a gentle tap with the hammer to test if we can short circuit any of the batteries. Nice Sir
🤣
He would have to have had a wire connected across the entirety of the bottom of that pack and along that hammer to short anything
Pls make an elaborate soldering and wiring video of this
don't, this is extremely dangerous especially with the pack size.
if you want to make a large high capacity pack, especially one for an ebike where its liable to get scuffed up a bit in normal use. use cells with the same specifications. this person has no isolation on his terminals, wires crossed over each other over and over creating stress points, his controller is utterly inadequate, and his soldering of everything onto the cells is a catastrophic mistake.
18650 cells have a high capacity, and with that many you're playing with fire. the heat from soldering nickel (if he didn't cheap out and use plated steel) onto them could easily damage the cells and turn your pack into a firebomb waiting to happen
don't fuck around with electricity, if you want big power you better put big safety measures in place
Super

Very useful idia thanks sir
That battery is a bomb waiting to go BOOM!
Why?
@@jvlsgames4446 he dosn't know why but I'll tell you. He's not sure the cells in parallel are the same capacity. The smaller capacity cell will overheat under load.
I would be concerned about heating up the 18650 while soldering, I would suggest improve your soldering technique. Good vid though.
Waste of batteries
Respect 🤟🏿🥽
Lithium ion battery present in laptops thanks sir for giving info
U r lucky that can manage used laptop battery. In my country it's never be possible. I hv made my own bike battery pack
hi. for recharging that battery what kind of trans or source we should use?
54.6v charger
What is name of your second bgm please tell me
I love it

Hello
What is the thickness of the BMS board cables in AWG?
a question: at 1:30 you seperate d good cells from d bad ones;
yes, shortly after he tests them by charging and reveals which ones are good and bad
And there is you're batterypack that will turn your house in a sweet sweet fireball.
No isolation on positive terminals, cheap bms, squishing wires everywhere. I lost it after you smashed the pack with the steel hammer.
I don't mean to be all negative, but this video had too many fatal mistakes, on such a dangerous thing as lipos.
If you want to make a batterypack, don't do its like shown in this video, it wont end well. Especially if the pack isn't stationary. If it shorts anywhere, it will burn big.
Holy Crap..... What in the hell does that power¿! LoL
Sir mujhe kuch saman chie to ma kese parches keru
I want that battery bro
What is the volt of one battery cell and mah
Hola, he conbfeccionado la batería, pero se me calienta mucho el control bms. Por que puede ser posible ??
OK so say I'm doing a 13s 48v battery can I use one row of 13s with say ampage of 4000mah batteries and another 13 row with 3000mah to get a 7amp hour battery???
What glue do use in blue wrap?
Wau.................hebatnya
Sir 60 volt 35 amp batterry pack kaise banana hai
Sar is battery pack se Kitna mileage miltahai
Great work!!!
are you sure that the BMS can handle 60 AMPS?
this battery would have been ok ,and probably worked fine he used cells holders ,so there isnt any cell movement ,he didnt sandwhich any ball wires between the two packs ,should have increased the series connection points one for every cell, and as long as he has padding with hard outer cover ,it will fine
Bajido gya ka ya battery bank
Can we use this battery in electric scooter
By whear you have got the charger
AliExpress
as a very smart woman said in her very long post below. Dont solder batteries. solder creates resistance, which creates heat and eventually fire, a very hot bad fire.
how do you charge this? where is that outport suppose to go in 11:48
?
*Very* *Awesome!*
sir can we add more batteries in parallel in this Battery Pack
you shouldn't even add batteries in series with this method
You can definitely add more battery in parallel.
What is the Amp for the cells?
50ah
hy , if i have cell's from 1700 to 2300 mah can I use them all in one power pack ,( 120 cell's )? or I should use only 2000-2300 cell's in one small pack ( 50 cell' ) thanks
Always try to have similar cells - not just capacity. Similar internal resistance is important. Similar discharge curve is also very important but we cant speak about that with different recycled cells.
Bhaiya will you sell it
Bro great video 👌💪
What price you pay for one laptop battery
Don't solder 18650 batteries. The heat will destroy the battery!
Can I use difference mah battery
Bhai used Laptop battery vo bhi itne saare mumbai me kaha pe milega?
Nice bomb bro 😂👍💣
C est dangereux de charger des accus en dessous de 3v
Hey buddy...how much ampere hour your BMS?..it's 36aH?...
Hi, where did you purchase the soldering gun from ?
do not use a soldering gun for the battery's, please use a spot welder
Mau tanya bos
klw 72v dikasih 77v itu gmn bos ?
Exelent
You didn't measure their capacity and make a battery pack out of them?
If average capacity one cell is 1000mah then we need 13s50p, for 50ah pack. 650 cells.
No.... Is a 2500 mah
Vaiya one cell kitna amp ka he ❓
1 amp
That's why I can't buy any you bought them all 😳🤣😂
Hello my friend
Can you do one battery for me I'll buy it 24v 22A for my son 24v car
🤣why ..suicide??
Sir 60 volt 30 Ah how much price?
Bhai laptop ki battery khya milta hai
Super pro
Poxa dá uma bateria da Dell pra mim a do meu PC tá viciada
You are never supposed to solder to the negative end. It overheats the chemicals. You can solder to the positive end if you are fast and then cool it down right away. Use a spot welder.
Where is sale the film covertor blue?
Do theses cells have same capacity?
I doubt it
for good, each battery must be checked for discharge ... how many mAh, but what shows 4.2v does not really matter
Nice
Kitne paiso ki battery's hogi 🙄
you should not use soldering on cell.
Mind blowing
Hi, is it a problem that the cells are not the same?
yes, some problems will arise.
Hey your videos very awesome can you make video to learn how we can make charge battery like this in min 12:33 please and thanks
Please make a video for last wiring with key motor our battery etc
No fuses?
I think it is not worth buying old laptop cells because they are too different from each other and they are actually pretty expensive. If you want cheap cells Sanyo UR18650SA 1200mAh are good because they also have pretty high discharge capacity.
Depends on your sources, he may have gotten them for free.
There is no way that is 48 volt it is sooo much more
13s...48v, fully charged 54.7... u clearly do not understand lithium batteries...doesn’t Matt if it’s 1 in parallel or a million..
Series voltage is how much electrical "shove" can occur. Stacking in series increases voltage.
Stacking them in parallel, adds to the amperage. So the voltage stays the same, but the length of time something can be run increases.
Think of a AA battery. 1.5v. 500ma Only lasts so long... but if you could put one next to it in parallel, it would still be 1.5v but with 1000ma capacity.
If you put them in series, you get 3v, but still only 500ma.
Understand? By stacking the batteries in specific patterns, one obtains 48v (54volts OCV) then has multiple 48v packs paralleled together to get the desired amperage/hour rating.
12 wide, by 14 long, by 2 stacks high means there are 336 cells there.
@ 3.7v per cell (presumed) if one connected all these batteries in series you'd get 1243.2volts but with "only" 0.8amps. Please bear in mind, that little bit of amperage at that level of voltage will very likely kill or severely injure you. Lose a finger easily.
But if you lower the voltage from that 1243volts , thus increasing the amerage... one gets a battery that is useable for their needs.
622v for 1.6amps
311v for 3.2amps
160v for 6.4amps
80v for 12.8amps
48v for roughly 25 amp/hours.
(Means you could draw 25amps continuously, for one hour, before "low voltage" occurs)
Edit: All these are ballpark figures based on 800ma batteries. Ive come to learn that 18650 cells typically run 1600ma and larger. So change the math accordingly.
If a DC motor is rated at 9 Amp, I hook it up to a battery pack rated at 20 Amp, will the battery pack burn the DC motor eventually? Or will the DC motor only draw 9 Amp though the battery pack is rated at 20 Amp?
A 20Ah battery is just the capacity, which is what the battery can supply. The load(DC motor) will just draw 9Amps. Assuming it draws 9 amps continuously, you can run that motor for 2.2 hours on that battery. The battery won’t dump 20amps on the motor. Extreme Over voltage of the DC motor will destroy it.
@@jrebuilds Understood. Motor will adapter to amp. Over Voltage will destroyed motor. Thank you sir!
@@christopherowens2635 you’re welcome, glad it helped.
Uncle my laptop start button is not starting what shall I do can you make the video and show how to start the computer
