@@easytechzones Because yeah, for me, using a huge pipe and molding it into a battery shape was impressive because you were thinking out of the box, for once I thought you used a UPS battery but I was surprised lol
These cell holders are NOT meant for making battery packs. For stationary applications its not too dangerous but for a mobile application these are unacceptable. Even for a stationary application the reason why we don't use these cell holders is because of resistance. The contacts have so much resistance that you cannot safely draw anything more than a few amps from cells in these cell holders. Jehu Garcia learned this the hard way when designing his PCB boards (which have many safety features built in that make them at least usable for low draw applications that are stationary). He had to test a bunch of cell holders and find ones that provided the least resistance and I think now he has a low drain and medium drain option. I have a video on my channel showing you what the resistance is of these cell holder contacts and which ones are the best or the worst.
Excellent analysis. Now I understand why my power bank(power bank case purchased at Amazon & battery placed) is not working as the batteries are to be placed in spring holders.
I have such small battery cases. 1 5V and another 12 V. It is ok for small amp. They give 50% current of normal Powerbank but depending of the use, it can be enough and useful. Camping, emergency, radio, lamp, Bluetooth. Even fan. Will not use it for such a project. Maybe such cases with pure copper exist ?
Very good, well done. But there is something that should be taking in consideration: Output terminals (See minute 8:55) must be soldered but not crimped because in case of a high current demanding by any load, it can create problems in these teminals. So, my rating is 4.7⭐
I used to think same as you guys but the accepted method and preferred over soldering is "crimping" the connectors. I do think however that his crimping was not of best quality. Oversized crimps for his gauge wire for one and the crimp itself was not ideal.
lol, on high current that crap bms will shut down (trip) and in order to make the trip over you need to either charge it or disassemble it. In most of the videos all of these people doing such stuff knows nothing about it. He built the battery without knowing what battery is.
Worrying when you don't even know the difference between Amps and Ampere-Hours. They are not the same. We don't measure battery capacity in amps, it's measured in either Ampere-Hours (Ah) or in Watt-Hours (Wh).
How are you preventing the loosening of the cells in the holders from thermal cycling. And, how do you prevent oxidation of the battery connections over time?
He used cell holders with steel leaf springs, I doubt he cares about any of that. He didn't even charge/discharge all the cells to the same voltage prior to connecting them. Some of them got one hell of a charging current for a couple seconds.
No soldering hmmmm ok You need to change those wire because that can't handle 15 amps if you draw that much and make some ventilation hole in cabinet /outer shell because as you use li-ion get heat up also bms so if you don't want a fire hazards make some holes Overall it was awesome project and you did it great
Contact resistance may be a problem resulting in overheating of batteries and power losses. Could be dangerous in certain situations. Soldering or spotwelding of contacts should be the way.
Excellent tutorial, nice build, very effective and excellent specification. One slight concern. Why only crimp the internal ring tag connectors,? It would be better to solder them and sleeve them for stability and current capacity.
Solder would be the best option. And if I might add, a better quality crimped fitting would have been the preferred option. Must confess though that the built is great and I shall try a similar battery but with a three times four cell containers like these. Still, great job.
All battery voltage >3.7V? Why? As long as the cell isn't below its minimum discharge voltage its safe to use What you need to do is put all the cells at the same voltage before connecting any in parallel and to make balancing easier do the same before series connecting. Imagine the charging currents some of these cells received when you hooked them up in parallel. Can only wonder what the balance was like for the first 20 cycles until the BMS was able to get anywhere sorting that out with limited balance current

How about if those 2 (+-) naked terminal touches metallic object accidently ? Honestly I it was a great idea of making but safety matters the most , isn't it ?
Beautifully done, thank you, but how can I charge the battery pack and what charger can I use, is any 12 Volt charger suitable for this, for example a car charger?
Can ask the quastion can i use the Ebike battery 12v 25ah on my Spot Welder DIY Kit 99 Gears of Power Adjustable Spots Welding Control Board for Welding the 18650 Battery?

You've done it so neatly, elegantly and wonderfully. The best video on the topic I've seen so far. Thanks a lot. :)

भाई इतनी शिद्दत से तो कोई company की बैटरी भी नही बनाते आपने तो अपना वर्क कमाल का किया ।🎉🎉❤
आपका वीडियो देख कर बहुत अच्छा लगा सर

Wow..... good point about the heat! How does this thing charge? Is it a reverse voltage across the two contacts? Ia that how the BMS board's work?

What would you recommend for me. I'm trying to convert my Bluetooth speaker which runs on 8 C batteries to working on these type of cells.
More than perfect, no-destructive way and easy disassemble the batteries
Good make a battery 12v with battery lithium-ion 3,7v and BMS battery 40a Good projects 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Crimping is always preferred. Crimping is always superior.
And when I say crimping I'm talking about with a real crimping tool.

E o carregamento é feito através dos mesmos terminais?
Ammazing idea. Thanks for posting...
A suggestion, use a hacksaw to slot the negative terminal, and cross the positive terminal bolt outlets.

what did you usew for the backing when you started, what are the plastic holderzs glued to
sections of flattened PVC pipe, like he used for the case.
Where do you get the batteries and the control board that won't brake the bank. Please answer.

Very nice Brother but as New comer I just want to know how to charge this 12 v battery .You didnt showed that. Will you please advice
Can it be done without a bms
