One thing to ask: disconnected battery voltage was 12,3 volts. battery voltage, connected to the working bike 12.2 volts. this means only one thing, alternator on this bike is not working or missing or disconnected. Otherwise how the original lead acid battery is going to be charged? Lead acid batteries require around 13,5-14 volts DC in the electrical system of the bike or a car. Battery shown in this video is not suitable for direct replacement of the Lead Acid battery. It will fail !
How does the battery perform after years? The cells do not overcharge due to too high charging voltage? After all, the alternator generates a charging voltage of 14.5V, which is too high for 3S Liion. By the way, using a plastic bottle in this way is one of the best and smartest tricks I've seen on the net! :D I'll try that too. Thanks for video!
The 18650 lithium battery pack you inserted into the bike, does it now have the same charging source from the bike as the earlier lead acid? Thank you.

Nice video but, if you place a buck converter between original charging system and the battery, set the voltage to 12.4-12.6 volts it's better for the battery and the BMS.
I think he mean the output of the scooter so the voltage entering the bms is lower. But it's needs to do current both ways so I'm not sure how that would work
the scooter generates 14.4V but the BMS has a controller, and as soon as it reaches 12.6 - 12.8V it turns off the power supply to the batteries using the mosfets

Super! 2 questions: 1. how does the zinc plate (not the flattened copper wire) get on top of the cell? 2, is charging the motor good for the Lithium-Ion battery? Thank!
Those are used batteries and the flat tin is the old connection between them. The circuit board allows the alternator to charge the batteries safely. I have a spot welder to reweld the batteries together with new flat tin. Either way if fine.
Nice job, kind of weird that the cells fit so perfectly into the battery case! My personal preference is to twist wires prior to tinning which keep all the strands together and prevents any stray strands. Only other caution would be the fact everything is quite tight in there but in the use case with a very short discharge when starting and relatively low current charging it seems like a good solution 👏
I think it would be better if you properly spot welded the 18650 cells with zinc plated strips, between them. I have tinned a lot of copper wiring to cells and stuff. I don't think it is the best approach for this case, a motorcycle battery, which has to endure a lot of vibration and shaking/bumping, especially if the roads are rough in your country, because there is a much higher risk of cracking a solder joint and making a short or just killing the battery pack and your precious work, faster than you would believe. Nice job though.
@@BOB-eb8xz Not really. The bms board charges each cell up to 4.2v and stops charging omce it reaches that value or about 12.6v total. I've made a similar battery and tested this myself. Provided that he bms doesn't malfunction and everythimg goes south of course..

Amazing... My question is, does the amount of charging voltage coming from the bike's charging coil affect the L(BMC) of the lithium-ion batteries... Thank you.
The voltage is around 14.4V, but the most important factor is the charging current, which should not exceed 8-10A. Which in my case is on the order of 5A
