Badd Medicine here and its Puss in Boots reaction time
Years before meeting Shrek and Donkey, the adorable but tricky Puss in Boots must clear his name from all charges making him a wanted fugitive. While trying to steal magic beans from infamous criminals Jack and Jill, the hero crosses paths with his female match, Kitty Softpaws, who leads Puss to his old friend, but now enemy, Humpty Dumpty. Memories of friendship and betrayal enlarge Puss's doubt, but he eventually agrees to help the egg get the magic beans. Together, the three plan to steal the beans, get to the Giant's castle, nab the golden goose, and clear Puss's name. It stars Antonio Banderas, alongside Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Amy Sedaris.

Watch this movie again recently for the first time since it premiered, and I really liked it, it's really solid! I feel bad some people around apparently seemed to not have good memories of it.. The Last Wish is a good sequel for it, not 2 alone. :(

This first film is actually not only incredibly mediocre compared to The Last Wish, but just mediocre in general in my opinion. I’m glad they chose a different creative team to make the sequel years later

The one you are thinking of is not a "villian". If you think so, it means you misunderstood the character. But the real villian in this movie is also very well written.

Even though this isn’t one of my favorite movies, the reconciliation of Puss and Humpty’s friendship as well as Humpty’s redemption arc are deeply personal for me. My childhood best friend was also deeply troubled, but one of the most beautiful people you could ever know. When she passed away, everyone got to see how “golden” she really was because she was an organ donor. 5 people, including a child, are able to thrive in life because of her final act of kindness.
I would absolutely love to see these guys react to the Ice Age movie series from 2002 - 2016. I just know they're gonna love Scrat and Sid 😂😂❤

When Humpty becomes a golden egg I think that's their way of saying he really did have a golden heart hence Puss saying, "I knew you were good inside."

I grew up with Puss in Boots. I've re-watch this movie way more than any other movie that I can remember. So when Puss 2 was announced I was jumping out into space, but I was still a little skeptical about what direction Dream Works would go with Puss. But after watching Puss in Boots The Last Wish, I can happily say that it left me ready willing and able to see what comes next in the Shrek universe.

Technically this is Puss's origin story so it's a prequel to when we see him for the first time in Shrek 2.
The Last Wish is absolutely one of the best animations I have ever seen. I already watched it twice in the cinema but cannot wait to watch you guys watch it!
I watched this movie so many times when I was a kid. It's one of my favorites.
I don't know if this was on purpose, but Kitty Softpaws has some similarly to the cat in Gagliuso.
Which is one of two Italian version of Puss in Boots, written/published in 1634 by Giambattista Basile.
In this version the cat is female. And is betrayed by her master whom she has managed to win so much for.
You can find the story in a book called The King of the Cats and other Fairytales by John Richard Stephen's. Which was released in 1993
Gagliuso starts on page 13.
Kitty makes me think of this version everytime I see her.
Were can I find the original fairtale in Italian? I would like too read some Italian fairtales in Italian (to practice the language).

I am an American whom just likes fairytales and has several collections of them that are kind enough to give to orgin of them.

I dont really understand why this movie isnt loved more. Yea it's not Dreamwork's most "mind blowing", but it's still really fun and enjoyable! I love that Puss has gotten his own movies now.

Yea except that The Last Wish teases Shrek 5 with that ending. That's the only time they've connected it massively (except those Shrek and Donkey cameos in the second one as well)
This was my daughters absolute favorite movie from when she was 2 till she was around 10 years old. So it was on on repeat in our house and is still quoted almost daily. Love this spin off

You guys are like my Internet uncles. I'm always excited when you show up and we get to hang out together for an hour.
I saw this at a drive in theater with a friend the week it came out. We were glad that we decided to go that route, because Humpty's "I was there the whole time" had us HOWLING in the car. Him appearing under the lady's skirt had me gasping for air and in tears.
The cat that only says "ohhhhh" cracks me up sooooo much. It's the only thing I remembered from the movie 😂😂😂

I FORGOT TO ADD, My first experience with real life Antonio Banderas was the little known "Take The Lead". It was my first experience watching him dance, its a movie inspired by a true story. I really like it and recommend it.

Such small towns. I grew up in a "smallish" town on California that is nothing to talk about, but it had 45k and today it is slightly over 50k. Just homes and schools.

Well, Batman was inspired by Zorro so maybe Softpaws was a nod to it? And obviously Banderas played Zorro and Puss in Boots is heavily inspired by his interpretation of the character. Also, doesn't gold devalue the more of it there is? So maybe the town isn't all that loaded.

I watched the second Puss In Boots without watching the first, and I only watched this one to watch their reaction - actually a solid movie. I really enjoyed it. But they're gonna LOVE The Last Wish. I think especially Oak will love the message.
