WALL-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot left on Earth. He spends his days tidying up the planet, one piece of garbage at a time. But during 700 years, WALL-E has developed a personality, and he's more than a little lonely. Then he spots EVE (Elissa Knight), a sleek and shapely probe sent back to Earth on a scanning mission. Two things I noticed:
Symbolism of the Boot - the planet (and life) recovering out of the abandoned footprint of humanity
Wall-E inspired others to step outside conformity and into individuality. His authenticity was contagious and made each character more memorable and exciting. From Eva to the waving receptionist robot.
I hope you watched a bit of the credits. It shows how the humans were successful after relearning how to live on their own :)

I have an autistic child who sometimes struggled when he was younger to follow movies that were heavy on dialogue. He loved this movie. Seeing his joy made this one of my favorites, too.
My son is 18 and was diagnosed with autism when he was young.
Wall-e was the 1 movie he watched fully and often.
He loved it so much, my parents gave him a remote control mini-Wall-e one Christmas.
He's now in college and was about to give "his" Wall-e to a local charity, but for now it has to many memories for me and my wife...

When he gets older, you can try watching Edward Scissorhands. I mean, it is a bit dialogue, but the main character does not talk much.
Same!!! My son wouldn’t sit still for movies and wouldn’t follow them. When I showed him THIS movie, it was the quietest and most attention I had ever seen him pay to a movie. He still loves it.
I'm horrible with character names but this was easy to follow. Refreshing

This came out the same year as the first Twilight movie, and I'm pretty sure it's what started the saying in the first place.

It has nothing to do with Wall-E.
It actually started with Harry Potter. 'JK Rowling told a better love story in 1 chapter than Meyer did in 4 books' (meaning Snape ans Lily). And because back then there was also a trend to comment 'better than Bieber' on music videos even when the quality was really shitty.
So that started the whole 'still a better love story than twilight. Which was used on objects. Like a plug and a power outlet.
And My Little Pony fan videos.
Wall-E has a great love story. The saying is mostly used on shitty love stories or inanimate objects.
No lies detected.
And for movies, the first one I heard the "still a better love story than Twilight" meme being used for was Up - not because it's bad, but because the "love story" is so short and ends before the movie really starts.
I love that Auto isn't really an evil or malfunctioning AI, it's just an AI following the orders it got from the highest authority in the company
They could have added a bit more depth, like the HAL9000 in 2010. Possibly beyond the scope of the intended audience though.

I feel like he was already an homage to Hal, anyway.
Autos actions are never an oversight of those who made him, not a glitch caused by conflicting directives. Everything he does is by design and by the order of his superiors. It's only his lack of flexibility or independence that puts him in conflict with the protagonists who adapt and learn.
His rigidity to protocol comes up with the fact he could have easily disposed of the plant without ever letting the captain know it was found, but directive dictates the captain is informed about a positive probe. It had to wiggle around the two directives to get by.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if they rebooted Auto once Operation Recolonize was fully and thoroughly established, and the return to Earth was a _fait accompli_ so there was no longer any possibility of preventing it.
@@zybch Auto was certainly a nod to HAL. they didn't need to add depth to Auto because anyone familiar with HAL would immediately make the correlation, and to do the same thing with Auto would just be redundant and take up screen time in an already pretty long animated movie
Oh another thing to add onto what Oak said;
When the film creators came to talk to us at college about this film, one concept behind this was that Wall.E changes every single person he comes into contact with. Even just bumping into John, he changes his life forever. He gets Mo to jump off his line and start working independently. The typing robot he waves to breaks away from its boring task of typing to wave back. Of course there are the bigger changes he makes too with Eve and such, but even the most incidental interactions, Wall.E manages to change everyone he meets just by meeting them for a small moment.
It's the best part, how he makes a mark in all of their lives
It's actually directly analogous to how humans interact - each connection we make, however briefly, makes changes in those we interact with, some small (a smile and "Hello, how are you, you look nice today" can brighten anyone's day), some not so small (just being there and listening to someone's story can help them feel not so alone and even help them figure out a problem). The key is connection, and in WALL-E 's case, he makes a direct connection with those around him because he's not only been alone for a long time, but he doesn't understand detachment and indifference because of his view of the value of connection - look how he treats his little cockroach friend and how he worries about the little guy's safety and health, then Eve when she shuts down, Mo (he wouldn't leave Mo behind in the garbage pit), and others he meets along the way. Connection is a very powerful thing for not just humans, but for all life, from people to animals and even plants (look at the research about how trees in a forest connect, communicate, and share resources) and WALL-E demonstrates this just by being his adorably curious little self.

I love how he has collected all these lighters, but it took Eve picking one up and lighting it to realize what it did.

It's Eve. It stands for Extra-terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator. All the robot names are acronyms. WALL-E is Waste Allocation Load Lifter - Earth class. And MO is the Microbe Obliterator.
@@demo2823 I never thought about it as a speech impediment, more just that he struggled hearing it correctly because he never talks to anyone or anything. Like mis-pronouncing a foreign word.
I think one thing to think about is why they chose "Hello, Dolly" to be the old movie Wall-E watches and records. It is a love story, but it's also a movie about people who are just doing the same thing day to day and when they decide to do something spontaneous they finally start to actually live.

I don't know if you noticed, but you spent the first hour watching an animated movie where there were only one or two robots, a cockroach and a desolate world.
Without any dialogue and at the same time full of it.
@FacuRS I read this comment multiple times by multiple people. Only difference is the time. Some say '20 minutes'. Some say '30 minutes'. Now you say '1 hour'.
It's fascinating how differently people think about time.
A film that has virtually no dialogue for the first 30 minutes, yet is still able to hold your attention, deserves all the praise in the world.
Like every silent film ever made - they go back to the classics and show why they are classics.
So my son is 5 and was only just diagnosed with severe ADHD ( which took years of me fighting for him to get diagnosed and be believed )he also had a severe speech impediment and didnt like talking/ also struggled to talk. He could never sit through a movie like my nephews could , always running around ( only slept 4 hours a night ! ) I was run really ragged and decided one day to put this on cause I love it and wanted to watch it and my son ( 3 at the time ) sat through this whole entire movie without moving ! I was shocked , turns out this movie is actually extremely popular for parents with children on the spectrum, ADHD and more because for so long theres very little talking, lots of fun noises that dont overload and trigger sensory issues and theres always tons of stuff to look at in each scene keeping kids eyes busy. The kids also relate to wall-E’s journey trying to learn to navigate a whole new world, socialize and make friends all while being true to himself and who he is and including the other ‘ misfits ‘ who are all useful in their own special ways !

My son (7) never really cared for Wall-E. I've tried and tried. He loves Snow White though. He has ASD and ADHD. You should get your son assessed for autism too, it certainly sounds like he's autistic and adhd. My son was non-verbal till 3.5 and has several speechimpediment diagnoses, so if your son has problems communicating taking him to a speech therapists would be beneficial.
@@Iflie oh they do understand it. Simple slapstick stuff like that is much easier to follow than a lot of dialoge. But as it is with everything else, it's still not everyone's cup of tea.
AWW I wish my mom got a proper diagnosis when I was little. I went my whole life not knowing I had adhd. I also never slept as a child or could sit quiet or still. I grew up struggling so much. I still struggle as an adult
@@SailorYuki I think that with autism if you take everything literally it might not catch on right away that what MrBean does is "wrong". Depending on what level they are but in general it's really popular with kids and in all countries as there is no language barier.

If you watch the end credits, they tell the story of what happened back on earth once humanity returned, but they do it through cave painting and tribal art around the credits. It's actually interesting to watch like end credit scenes from Marvel.
Wall-E's end credits are some of my favorite. The art work they did to tell the story, progressing through cave drawings to tile mosaics to paintings, etc. It's extremely well done, beautiful story telling again without any words. And the song is really good too.
The whole end credit sequence is basically a play-by-play evolution of art.

This movie is an absolute masterclass in storytelling and animation. The fact that the main characters don’t speak, and for the most part, this movie is largely without dialogue. Every single nuance, every emotion, joke, story beat was told purely through gestures, sound effects etc. It’s mind blowing how wonderfully articulate, charismatic and lovable the characters are, all through the animation. It’s really remarkable. I love everything about this movie. I’m so glad you reacted to and loved it too.
I just love the message in how Wall-E didn't know what was happening with Eve, he didn't understand what she was going through, but he stayed and just took care of her the best he could. Our loved ones might not always be able to convey to us what's going on mentally or emotionally with them but it's important to be the consistent support that they may not even realize they need. (not talking about situations that would be harmful to either party, of course)

As per the theme of fathers with daughters I would recommend they watch Tale of the Princess Kaguya. If they can ever do a studio Ghibli film. It's a masterpiece.
Nausicaa and Ponyo are also some I would recommend for them if they ever get the chance
For a movie without near as much dialogue as most others, it conveys its message incredibly well. I adore this film.
Its called storytelling. Something Disney/Pixar has since replaced with identity politic agendas :(

Stuff like 'Snow White and the 7 magical creatures' where she doesn't get saved by the princes and doesn't dream of love but becomes the leader she always was deep down.
But they changed some of it after the backlash.
@@jollyquinn430 To be fair, she never was saved by the prince in the original. She's revived accidentally when the piece she ate got free from her throat. The disney movie from the early 20th century was not true to the source material whatsoever.
The 'romance', or rather the innocent attraction between wall-e and EVE could have been done insanely cringey or creepy if the makers of it had screwed up royally. Luckily it just feels sweet and cute.
The insane talent of the animator for this movie. Showing emotions in Wall-E's face is not an easy task
Sigorney Weaver playing the ship's computer voice was a nice touch.

but humans were also the ones to save it. we are all capable of good and evil, greed and empathy, it’s all about what we choose to act on

And regardless of who saved it, the message of the movie was clear who is ruining it; yes we can save it too, but the majority of people aren't preocuppied with doing that.
I don't care what anyone says, this movie is a Pixar masterpiece. It always makes me cry.

“Why do you watch reaction videos?” Because there’s something about seeing three grown men cheer for a robot regaining his memory that just makes me smile
If you watched through the credit scene, they show you snap shots of their progress on getting back on their feet. It shows how they evolve while shedding off weight and taking care of the land as it gets better as well.
One of the best animated movies ever made
Fun fact: The original version of the A113 message was much darker. The president began to send messages that talked about the cruise ship having to be extended, then he talked about the side effects of gravity 0 on the human body (because in the original version humans are gelatinous masses) and the last message is quite explicit that he died due to the toxic environment and begs that he wants to live.
Why are all the scrapped things better? I honestly would’ve loved this in the movie!
I personally love that Wall-E didn't have dialogue for the majority of the movie yet we were able to understand the premise of the story and see the characters' personalities.
I’ve always loved this movie to death since it came out. WALL-E is clearly one of the greatest animated characters from start to finish.
I loved the way they made wall-e so kind, patient and sweet and eve was super explosive and hot headed. It worked perfectly
I watched WALL-E in the cinema when it came out, it had the majority of the crowd crying in their seats towards the end.
You don't need expansive dialogue, or good looking characters to make a movie great. This movie expressed everything perfectly and it got its point across.
I think that with WALL-E, you see things through the eyes of innocence. WALL-E is like a little kid, even though he's been going around earth for hundreds of years, attempting to clean up the mess. He's curious like a child, and you connect with it instantly. It makes him endearing and loveable. And then to see him nearly losing himself in every way possible... man that was gut wrenching. It was possibly more painful to see than if he'd been shred to pieces.
Gotta love Pixar for their creativity that smacks you in the feels every single time. I haven't seen WALL-E in full since I saw it on the big screen, but that's not because I didn't like the movie. I loved it, but I'm always a bit weary to rewatch certain Pixar movies because they are sometimes too heavy on the feelings. Still, to see two robots have the ability to make grown ups cry... well done, Pixar.
It’s not really spelled out, but I love that what makes Wall-E (the character, not the movie) so unique, fascinated with humans, and have that survival instinct to repair himself…is implied to be a GLITCH in his programming
Also, I used to question why Wall-Es would have lazers, but then I realized that it’s probably so they can break down large pieces of trash (like that fridge) to get them into a more compactable shape
This movie is so beautiful. Originally watching the movie, I thought it was cheap how WALL-E's memory of EVE returned at the end because I thought it was a "cheap hollywood fix". But, I have to admit I was totally wrong! It was the spark (the kiss) that held the information/memory of their relationship. So when she kissed him, all those memories returned to his disk.
It's so poetic and beautiful. Love this movie...definitely a flawless 5/5.

BTW, that WALL-E’s opening sound was not a Windows, but from a Mac Computer star-up audio, and also AUTO, the white steering wheel robot was modeled after HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey and voiced by Apple’s MacInTalk software.
“Early years”?!? Pixar as a film studio dates back to the very early 90s, having been spun off in 1986 from Lucasfilm, which it had been a technical division of for 7 years. By the time Wall-E came out 15 years ago, 14 years had passed since Pixar’s first feature film (1994’s Toy Story). If you consider that Toy Story had been worked on for several years before release, this puts Wall-E pretty much exactly at the halfway point of Pixar’s moviemaking era.
@@tookitogo Toy Story was released in 1995, and WALL-E (2008) was the 9th film. Since 1995, Pixar has released 23 films, with their latest being Elemental (2023). WALL-E was one of the early successes before a perceived decline after Toy Story 3 in 2010. In the first 15 years, 10 films stood out, excluding Cars, which makes it the 11th up to that point. However, in recent years, only two films (Inside Out [2015] and Coco [2017]) are considered standout, with the rest being seen as mediocre at best. I have yet to see Toy Story 4 and provide a rating.
Man, this movie sneaks up on you. It is such an odd-ball concept that pretty much no one expected the story we got. It's absolutely brilliant and has more heart than most movies can dream about. One of Pixar's absolute best. WallE has more personality without saying a single word than characters in entire series do. It's deeply impressive how quickly you are all in for WallE.
When this came out in theater it took me a while to figure out something I was seeing that just was way above normal animation. Camera motion. Like overhead "helicopter shots" of WallE had really subtle shake and bounce motion to them, as do shots that would have been filmed "hand held" had this been real. They created a whole library of realistic camera motions and the entire film goes from clearly CG to CG, but somehow looks like they filmed it. One of the vast number of technical breakthroughs PIXAR has created over the years.
WALL-E is great. So inventive and with so much heart. The Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) honored it as the best in film (not just animated) for 2008.
Captain is my fav character. Kept the passengers calm, managed his crew properly, treated even the robots with respect.
I probably watched this movie about 1,000 times when my daughter was growing up. I love that i can watch this movie a decade later and still LOVE every second of the movie in addition, i can remember certain parts that made my daughter laugh the hardest she could as a toddler, and those memories will always warm my heart just by watching an animated movie about a trash collecting robot. A+ movie!
To add to the pattern of life lessons, gorgeous graphics, and great humor, the movie "Coco" and "Brave" from Pixar are definitely up there as well!! Those are the two movies that I watch to remind me how important life and family really are. They're the two movies I watch regularly with my parents, husband, and the rest of my family on a Saturday night to just bond and bring us together. They're BEYOND relatable when it comes to family dynamics, reminding ourselves how important relationships are, and being true to who we are as individuals and upholding every aspect of that. PLEASE PLEASE react to those, I'm sure you'll love them just as much as this movie and "UP"! I second this, Coco and Brave would be fantastic movies for them to react to.
Brave is one of Pixar's most boring films, full of cliques, and such shallow character arcs, it was mediocre at best.
That's your opinion, just because you didn't enjoy it or didn't find anything meaningful in it, doesn't mean others didn't.
It's not my top Pixar movie but I can still find enjoyment in it. I quite liked seeing the mother daughter relationship develop.
If you didn't like it that's fine, it's not cool to come in on someone's comment and hate on a suggestion like that though.
@@derptime9000 Don't project your mindset on me, I'm not hating anything. I didn't say I didn't like it. I said it's "mediocre" It's ok, it's not bad. I can still find enjoyable things in it, but it falls short Pixar's previous works. If that equates to hate for you then I think you should reevaluate how you rate things.

For the record what I do hate is people over hyping things, it creates high expectations, then when they fall short it makes a average thing seem worse.

As a kid, this was my absolute favorite movie. Not only does it convey a message to kids but I love how it didn’t need much dialogue and it can even show love without even speaking a whole lot. Which is extremely powerful. And how the outcast robots brought back characteristics for the humans. And how a screen is toxic and takes away from relationships. Wall-E loves unconditionally and how much Eve was truly in love with him
I was today years old when I finally realized the assistant robot that tried to get rid of the plant is named GO-4.....like Gopher from the Love Boat. Lol
Went to see this in the theater on the first day it was released. Guy sitting next to me, roughly about Oaks build but a little bigger, kinda kept a grumpy face. Occasionally through out the movie I would glance over at him to try and gauge how he was feeling with the movie, would catch him chuckle every now and then but go right back to the straight, grumpy demeaner. Toward the end where Wall-E was getting hurt there was a little girl just a row or 2 in front of us starting to cry, then when Eve put him back together and he wasn't responding the little girl just burst out sobbing and yelling Wall-E's name, guy next to me started shifting and I looked over, he had tears coming down his face. He looked right at me and said, "I was doing okay until that little girl started crying, and now I'M crying" lol. As we all were leaving he just looked at me again and said, "Best, Movie...Ever".
2008 came out with such bangers! Wall-E, Iron Man, The Dark Night, and the criminally underrated Speed Racer movie.
The movie was incredible at the theater, especially the scene when they were first flying through space. The most striking thing though is that a HUGE chunk of the movie lacked dialogue aside from some beeps and boops that resembled some words. In fact, the score was the main thing you even heard all the way until they got to the ship.
You cut out my favorite line from the movie! It's when the captain is arguing with Auto about going back to Earth. "I don't want to survive, I want to live"
Wall-E is one of my favorite Pixar films. Its amazing that a movie with such little dialogue can tell such an amazing story!
The musical Wall-E is fascinated with is called "Hello, Dolly" starring Barbara Streisand and Walter Matthau with a special appearance of famous musician Louis Armstrong.
And the best line from that movie (that Oak will appreciate) is "Money is like manure. It has to be spread around to do any good."
I used to work in the kids' center on cruise ships. This was my go-to movie when we had very international groups of children because you can understand what's going on without dialogue. Anyone who speaks any language can follow. The story tells itself! It's also just so sweet and a great way to get kids interested in protecting our planet.

What I love about Wall-E is that it conveys all this real emotion, especially in the first without a main character speaking a word ... Not many movies can do that. There aren't any characters speaking until they get to the ship, besides singing on a TV and a Buy-N-Large TV announcement. Love love love Wall-E - Such a good movie to be able to make you invested before anything really happens. Also all the callbacks to the early part of the movie are really nice too. A beautiful cautionary tell about how we treat our planet. Y'all have to get around to Inside Out before long and the new Puss in Boots movie is so freaking good.
Amazing to think the whole first half of the movie has zero speaking and yet conveys so much emotion.

As usual, Pixar makes such brilliant films that you just can't help but friggin' cry. I think Coco, Up, Encanto, and this are the top ones, besides the trash incinerator scene in Toy Story 3.
I also feel like Onward, Inside Out, Brave, and Elemental are extremely underrated. Those all had crying moments too. 💔😭

What I love is how amazing Pixar can be at story telling without speaking roles like in the beginning of UP. This movie has almost no speaking parts or subtitles by main characters until later on in the film and it’s still incredible. It’s different than just a silent film (I don’t want to downplay those early silent films either) it manages to Bring in so many emotions and feelings to non human sentient beings with no mouths 🤧
I freaking *loved* Short Circuit! "No disassemble!" Although he actually wasn't Johnny 5 until the sequel.
I adore Wall-E, it's been my favorite Pixar movie since it released. The music, the romance, the end credits, expressive animation so good you don't need dialogue; it's all just so good

I have ADHD and absolutely love this movie! I watched this in theaters and I was in awe with this animation. This is my all time favorite animation film because the way they animated everything was incredible for being a 2008 film. 5/5

Playing Disney Dreamlight Valley is both great ‐ you get Wall-E as your friend, but it's also genuinely emotionally difficult for me to walk past him and not talk to him 😅

This movie came out while I was at animation college. A little while later when the stores stopped having the big posters in store for it, a few of the guys in class "saved" one of the very big vinyl posters from a dumpster.
Also when the soundtrack for this movie was released, it was released in an eco CD case made of cardboard with no plastic.

Wall-E is by far my favorite animated movie. I remember seeing it in the theater with my mom. I was 6 and I remember getting a promotional watch when we went to it. The theater I saw it in closed down in 2020 but there are rumors its reopening after some renovations. I hope it does because I have so many memories of going there to watch movies as a kid.

WALL-E was so out of left field when I saw it at the cinema when I was a (big) teenagers. It was and still is so beautiful, it conveys so much emotion through no dialogue. Pixar was smashing it, and drew us too cool for school teenagers in and we loved every second of it and sparked conversation. I remember on a friday evening instead of partying and drinking we went to watch finding Nemo just a group of friends.
I was pleasantly surprised by this awesome movie.
Similar to when I 1st watched How to Train Your Dragon or Kung Fu Panda.
Some of these DreamWorks/Pixar movies have more heart than most live action movies I've seen.

wall-e!!!! I was so happy to see your video pop up in my recommended today. This movie was a big part of my childhood. As a kid I was, still am, very introverted, loved documentaries about wildlife and nature, always watched animal planet and national geographic, about climate change and what that did and would do to earth.
I saw myself in wall-e, I wanted to be someone like that. Do my part quietly, even while being lonely, find the beauty in life. Enjoy the same tape every night, dance and sing, collect small pretty interesting things. Make my small change for the better. wall-e was my hero.
loved the soundtrack and the lack of need for words, and most of all, how hopeful this movie is. I have so many good memories with this, happy feet and mulan, thanks for the reaction it was great getting to watch it one more time and this time with company of first time viewers, loved seeing you enjoying it🧡

I saw this movie when I was a kid at 6 years old this is my favorite Pixar movie because Wall-E has like my own personality to me collecting stuff. The love and emotion gets me as well with EVE, and I like and hate AUTO as a villain. I also used to play the Video Game when I was young as well.

This movie means so much to me. My first time watching this movie was an experience. I saw it in theaters and I was 14. I was in that phase of “Pixar and Disney’s only for kids”, and honestly hadn’t wanted to go see it. My older sister had seen it the weekend prior and loved it, knew I would too, and dragged me to see it. Seeing this on a big screen was magical. I love the message. I love the visuals. I adore the story telling. It remains a comfort movie that I will never tire of watching. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.

This was definitely a treat to see in a theater! I watched it again in high school as a senior because my English teacher wanted us to compare it to Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, so I not only got the entertainment viewing in 2008 but also the analysis viewing two yrs later! Great watch and reaction!
Wall-E is one of my favorite movies, full stop. Those little robots are so dang cute and the fact that there is such little dialog and it still tells an amazing story just shows how talented the Pixar staff is. Not to mention the very important lessons it teaches about consumerism and personal connection and responsibility, are so important! So glad you guys watched it and loved it just as much.
I absolutely LOVE Wall-e. It is incredible how they manage to make us emotional and create such an incredible story with basically just robots.

This movie released when I was in middle school and I didn't actually watch it until after I graduated college and just wow, I missed a good one. I knew about Wall-e, Eve, and the earth is in tatters and everyone is super lazy, but never the full story. As an adult being able to more closely relate it to the real world and my own values, I definitely appreciate the message
I absolutely adore Wall-E. I love they put in classic movies, I love them too. It makes you think about the future we are building or not building. I'm glad you guys popped up in my feed.
Something interesting about Wall-E's towers that I've noticed is that he builds them in imitation of the abandoned skyscrapers, with the same shapes of smaller structures on the top and various decorative angles on some of them - these are towers he's built in the same way he collects interesting trinkets, as opposed to the oldest ones. You can recognize the oldest ones because they're in a neat grid in front of a set of massive incinerators on tracks, which presumably slowly consume the towers and turn them into smoke and pollution as new ones are built, though all are long since out of service. Wall-E has diverted from making them so uniform to express himself in a bit of art over time, resulting in many different towers including some which are built in part on skyscrapers, assimilating them.
I hadn't seen this movie until almost a decade after its release. I remember the hype around it, but it just never piqued my interest. I didn't know what I was missing. The fact that they managed to make people care about a robot love story and a cockroach is a testament to their story telling capabilities.
I also loved the not so subtle social commentary about the future of Earth and its people. Lol, amusing yet so bleak.

WALL-E is such a beautifully told film, so much is done just through the visuals.
Like with Up which was around the same time, there's this great use of symbolism. WALL-E simply wanting to hold hands with Eve, a pretty universal symbol of love and friendship. (echoes Carl Frederickson and crossing his heart, and the two having a collection of mementos).
While still not my favourite Pixar film (nostalgic bias for The Incredibles is too strong), this might be the Pixar film with one of the strongest messages, one about humanity and how we must remember to live not just survive.
I love this movie. Me remembering the movie "Short Circuit" which this reminds me of. That movie came out in 1986. First time I saw Wall-E, I said "Oh my gosh its Number 5". That was the robots name in Short Circuit. Interesting how similar they look. LOL!
My kids were 14 and 15 when this movie was in theaters, and my daughter (29 now) just told me that she’s never seen it all they way through. I have, so it must have been on cable. I absolutely love this movie, and agree with many of the things said about it in your reactions. Thanks for adding this movie. If you haven’t seen it Monster House is another good one.
i cant remember the last time i saw the answer so excited and invested! i love this movie. and my kid loves this movie. they even had a wall-e themed birthday party one year (those "trash compactor cube" rice crispy treats were a hit) every kid i know loves wall-e. but honestly ive never met an adult who didnt like it. the animation is good,t he story is cute. there are so many important messages in it. i really think this was an important movie for so many reasons.
If I recall, there is an alternative/deleted scene to the dumpster one with EVE actually damaged and in need. It’s really neat because the big Wall-Es are more involved in it.
