@@PanzarMetal I read that you need to start the engine after every changed injector and let it run few minutes. That way you need no worry about the air. It will run few seconds with 3 cylinders, but it is normal. Just press the gas pedal while you are starting. Fuel return pipe is plastic, so beware when you disconnect it. I think it might be bit fragile. I replaced it with brand new injector, and it was very easy to unbolt. Ofc they are tight, but not that tight. A haven't had any errors after replace.
@@Lebetin Thank you, I also heard that the return pipe is fragile. I'm going to replace it with a used one as a new one costs a lot and just relying on luck that its an OK part. Interesting that on this video when he undid the fuel line no fuel came out, what would be your thoughts on that?
Thanks didn't think it would be this easy actually. Probably on a note I'd replace the injectors one at a time and turn the car over so that u don't have to reprime the fuel pump because I'm lazy haha. Glad to know that these engines make a lot of ticking as normal too.
I changed my 4 injectors because jerking motor and fault code with injector around 2000rev/min. You need to find a set without 3 number on the body of injector because it's bad version (for 2nd hand) for new one normally it's work because they change it. Disconnect the battery for at least 15 to 30 minutes. (PCM was update) After installation, you need to have to relearn Knock with Forscan. After start motor and stay 2min with slow engine (normally around 900rev/ min. And 1min at 1200-1500rev/min. After go to drive car for 50km till 200km for learning PCM new values. And if it's not working, change correction factor in Forscan (it exist 3 possibly '4'-'5'-'6'), relearn knock with Forscan. After unplug battery for 15-30min. After start motor normally and wait 2 min at 900rev/min and 1min at 1200-1500rev/min And go for drive.
This all goes easy if the injectors come out, which is often not the case. You'd need to use a reverse hammer and other tricks to get them out and then clean the holes properly. To remove the injector 4, you'd also need to remove the valve cover of the engine.
Hi I don't use this very often but like what I see. I have the same engine but in a ford galaxy mk3 1.8 2009. I have air in the System And having trouble bleeding it out have you got any help look you can give.

Hi I was assembling everything back and the plastic nozle doesnt want to go back, I tried fitting it back to the old injector and also doesnt want to go back in. Any advice ?
From the video, I saw that the old and new injectors are both Continental not Siemens. So neither Siemens nor Continental needs to be coded to the car ECM?
You know more than me. I know the original injectors are Siemens, what you saw in the video is what I got from the parts store and it didn't need programmed.
The PCM just doesn't support injector programming, so whatever injectors you install, you don't need to code them. Changing names is only because Siemens sold the VDO division that was making these injectors to Continental.
I've just replaced injector 3 following this guide but its leaking from from where the injector goes into the engine and i can push it down with my hand to stop it leaking but i cant tighten the bolt up anymore without snapping it ???

The injectors don't have a number per se, as you don't buy them as injector 1, etc. But yes, once installed, if you tell me that injector 1 has failed, I would understand that you are referring to the injector on cylinder 1.
Not needed. These injectors are not coded. The only setting in the PCM is "Injector class" which can be 4, 5 or 6. According to what I've found, if there is no big "5" printed on the injector cover, then you should set the Class to 4. Though, I've never seen anyone using Class 5 or 6 injectors on these engines.
Hi, the green nozzle is just compressed air to clear out any debri from the injector seat. Make sure to remove any deposits and slush. This injector seat was very clean, otherwise I would have covered the fuel tubing outlet before blasting air in there.

@@mohammedrannane7940 Did you try cheking the MAF sensor and its wiring? Did you try cleaning the sensor? You need to first sort out the MAF issue. Injector failures may not be properly diagnosed by this PCM. I had severe injector problems without any errors in the OBD whatsoever.

Hi, my Transit connect 1.8 has the same engine (looks the same) and feels like it's running on 3 cylinders. The code reader shows code P1201 - Cylinder No. 1 Injector Circuit Open/Shorted. The engine won rev past 1400 rpm and there is no power.I have been told that these engines are a pig to bleed once a new injector is fitted, your car started easy though ?
This is partially true. The engine is in fact a bit difficult to bleed if you loose prime between the filter and the high pressure pump. But, you don't loose prime when replacing an injector, so no need to prime it.
@@brickpug6088 What you are trying to avoid is to have more than one seal open at the same time so you don't get air ingress. Technically you don't even need to start the engine after every seal, as long as you don't open them all at the same time.
Still running fine? I finaly replaced all 4 injectors with new one, but first morning start when temperatures are around zero is worse than with the first ones which are done over 350.000kms. Engine shakes on gearbox side, but after a while is all fine. I had an animal (maybe a rat or a cat) which made me a big mess with electrical cables under the bonnet.
It's good practice to reset the knock sensor if you replace all four injectors at once. Also, replace your glow plugs, that will help with engine start on low temperature.
hi, great video. I have hyundai i30 and engine noise is wierd like tractor and rpm is very low on startup but ok upon race alittle bit. Also smells diesel in engine while running , can u suggest anything on that...???
If you can smell diesel on the engine bay, you have a leak on the fuel system. You will need to check carefully until you find it. If the engine is running rough, you should change your fuel and air intake filters and use a fuel treatment for two tankfuls(800 miles), From personal experience, I recommend Millers oils. I have no association to their brand, they just work very well.
@@TeachDIY Thanks for reply, i just clean turbo with mr muscle and change engine oil plus put rislone stop smoke and works pwrfect and the smoke is vanished , the only thing thats left is a bit of knocking in idle engine . Put wynn injector cleaner Done the job and knocking diappeared for few minutes but then again came back. Done return flow check on injectors and 3 injectors fuel qty was same except 4th injector which wss less so a bit confused, either 4th is faulty or 123 are faulty.
another thing i was confused on if i change any injector then do i have to disconnect diesel pump line from pump itself or it can be change without touching it
@@securecloud99 Chances arre you will need to disconnect both ends, otherwise you could damage the fuel line. Also, always tighten the injector first, then the fuel line.

I have replaced a ccouple of these injector as this engine came with the injectors series ending on 3. The only time I had to prime the system, was when I replaced the return line, but never for individual injectors.

Hi, some times they can be a bit stuck. When that happens I just use a spanner to spin them back and forth while applying upwards pressure. These VDO/SIEMENS injectors don't need codding, it is a straight swap.
@@TeachDIY they go by class. Did you had isues when changing Flywheel, i have rought idle when hot, but all dissapears when you turn on A/C or just Turn steering wheel

I have exactly the same car. how did you manage to pull the pins from the leakoff pipe(pins that hold the plastic pipe and injector). on mine they face opposite?
You can gently work a small flat head screwdriver between the pin and the injector, the pin will separate,then you can finish pulling it away with a pair of needle nose pliers.
@@stojanhumar1704 Have you checked the glow plugs on your car? Also, unless you have confirmed a faulty injector, I would recommend using Miller Oils, Diesel Power Ecomax fuel additive. Put a double dose of Ecomax before filling the tank, do it again for the next fill. The idea is to run a double dose of Ecomax for around 600-800 miles. If it is just dirt in the fuel system, the fuel additive will clear it for you. One more thing, keep the Miller Oils additive in a double ziplock bag, preferably not in the car. That stuff really stinks!! Good luck.

When you were replacing the injector, did any fuel leaak when you released the bolts off of the injector?
@@PanzarMetal just tiny amount. That metal pipe before injector is full of fuel. Nothing catastrophic.

Oficialmente, tienes que cambiar el tornillo. El par de apriete es 5Nm mas 90 grados.

I use FORScan to read faults. The engine went on limp mode a couple of times.

Recurring loss of power, going on limp mode and then clearing after restart. It got worse with time.

Delphi was only used on early batches. They switched to VDO soon afterwards.

Forgot to say, make sure you replace all the glow plugs. You should see an improvement on cold starts and fuel efficiency.

У меня форд c-max с таким двигателем, если нажать сильно на педаль акселератора то пускает черный дым, едет хорошо, есть предложения? Спасибо.
Турбина кидает масло ? Смотри ещё подсос воздуха ..тож так было ,у фильтра порвался внизу ..дымил как черт ..и ехал ) проверь все ..
@@ЛехаСуматоха-в6ш подсоса не нашел, интеркуллер помыл, егр заглушил. Дымит только если топнуть резко. А так выхлоп нормальный
@@skrypman как результат после того как заглушил егр ? Может как у меня масло турбина гнать начала ..кулер в масле был ?
@@ЛехаСуматоха-в6ш было там масла немного, но машине около 300 пробега. Все вымыл - поставил новые хомуты и всё. После того как заглушил машина перестала тупить, а то бывало при переключении передачи или начале движения мог заглохнуть. Программно не отшивал.
@@skrypman турбина начинает кидать если то дымит так же ..газанешь дым ..а так едет без нареканий ..тогда похер .заглушил ерг и порядок ..чисто будет ..пусть пока ручьем не побежит ездить можно .. единственное сажевый каталик мыть надо снимать будет ..забьет его со временем ..я свой мыл..от решил ща картридж поставить на турбину ..завыла моя ..тож задымил хорошо прямо ..я егр в заглушке два отверстия просверлил ушла ошибка ..и не загаживает ..жрать меньше стал ..а то как чайка ел 14 где то на сотку

It seems to be, I can't say for sure. The manufacturer part number is printed on the black cap, you will need to check.

I have exactly the same car. how did you manage to pull the pins from the leakoff pipe(pins that hold the plastic pipe and injector). on mine they face opposite?
You can gently work a small flat head screwdriver between the pin and the injector, the pin will separate,then you can finish pulling it away with a pair of needle nose pliers.

@@stojanhumar1704 Have you checked the glow plugs on your car? Also, unless you have confirmed a faulty injector, I would recommend using Miller Oils, Diesel Power Ecomax fuel additive.
Put a double dose of Ecomax before filling the tank, do it again for the next fill. The idea is to run a double dose of Ecomax for around 600-800 miles. If it is just dirt in the fuel system, the fuel additive will clear it for you.
One more thing, keep the Miller Oils additive in a double ziplock bag, preferably not in the car. That stuff really stinks!!

не для мондео МК4 1.8 tdci.
@@TeachDIY я понял так если я ставлю любые сиеменс или сонтиненталь форсунки на 1.8 их прописывать не надо

El clip puede entrar por delante o atrás, como lo has visto en este video. Y estos inyectores en el motor Lynx 1.8 TDCI Duratorq no necesitan ser reprogramados. Deberias informarte un poco antes de lanzar acusaciones contra personas.
