Hello Kicki, very, very nice video. It is such a pleasure listening to you and I am glad that you enjoyed your trip. While in Paris, I never made it to Jovoy and after watching your video I simply have to go again. Caron is my favourite house, I appreciate their quality and style. I own Tabac blonde, Narcisse Noire, Nocturnes de Caron and Pois de Senteur which is my absolutely favourite even though it has little bit of that old fashion vibe. All of them are power house and quality is undeniable. Buy the way, Guerlain bottles are suppose to resemble a beehive, therefore there are bees (their signature) everywhere else on their other bottles. Enjoy your fragrances. I look forward to your next video. Thank you.
Must explore Caron some more when I get the chance again. I think Tabac Blond is a little old fashioned, but really good. Thank you for commenting! Glad you liked the video.
Lovely video! Champs Elysées is the most famous and crowded avenue in Paris but definitely not the most luxurious. The original Galleries Lafayette is on Boulevard Haussmann and much nicer than the tourist trap on the Champs. Also right next door is Printemps, another department store and they have a nice quiet floor dedicated to niche perfumery, closer to NK in Stockholm but with a bigger selection. Nose is my favorite perfume shop in Paris, though they don’t have as many brands as Jovoy. The Serge Lutens Palais Royal shop is incredible and has Mr. Serge’s actual office upstairs when he’s not in Morocco. The historic Guerlain boutique on Champs Élysée is a must visit and you can even ask for a quick guided tour.
We did go to the Guerlain boutique on Champs Élysée! But missed those other ones you mentioned. I need to go back, hopefully when the euro is less expensive. Thank you for commenting. Appreciate it!
Yes! Paris is soo good for perfume fans. The Palais Royal Serge Lutens boutique is one of my favourite places. Still haven't been to the Guerlain store but I really love L'Instant too (prefer the EDT for me). I was also recently introduced to Le Galion too and was quite impressed!
Next time I will make sure to go there. I don’t know if I tried both the edt and edp of L’Instant. Noticed shortly before we were leaving that they had both. Thank you for commenting, appreciate it!
Hi Kiki. I am glad you had a good time in Paris. You bought some interesting bottles, and you got some free testers. I am liking my perfumes, and I am wearing some sprays from two vintage bottles of Eau de Cologne with the name of Cadentia with the date on the label of 1945 and one of the scents is Fleur d’oranger with a light yellow color and the other is Violette with a light purple color and there is a picture of Provence on the bottle, and they smell nice. I bought it from E-Bay a few years ago when I started collecting. I also own Guerllain L’Heure Breuer and it a one ounce bottle which is still full as I did not use it a lot, and it smells pretty nice. I enjoy my hobby as you do, and it is fun. Take Care. 😊
That is nice! Maybe you need to remember to bring it out more? It is beautiful, such an easy-grab L'Heure Bleue. It always works! Have been through a decant of it.
i like your posts. i have 8 frags from Liquides Imaginaires. They are superbe. i like Blanche Bete but i don't where it so often. it.s very nice and long lasting, for summer. Dom Rosa it's beautiful. If you get the chance, try it. Beaute de diable it's also very good. If you like Cacao Porcelana, you can try Dark from Akro. It even more chocolaty than Porcelana.
Oooooo....my son will be Paris next week. He is in London now. Have him doing some fragrance "shopping" for Mom. :) Loved this videio....thanks so much. :)
Glad you had a great trip! Sounds like you got a chance to smell some of the more difficult fragrances to find. I'm surprised that you liked L'Heure Blue. I would love to hear what it smells like to you. Oh, I'm a Fragrantica girl all the way!
I used to have a decant of a slightly older formulation of it and found the new one really nice, too. To me it is an easy-grab, light and floral with a good dose of iris and heliotrope. The kind of fragrance that always works!
Curious about Jovoy now, it’s a shop with multiple perfume houses and a perfumer? The Muse d Orsay is easy to get into and less popular, at least was 15 years ago 😅. I’m glad you got some new insight on Ramsey, I find him to have a lot of integrity. Thanks for the great tour that was fun!
Yes, they have multiple perfume houses but no perfumer that I know of. They have their own brand called Jovoy but they are all made by good perfumers like Bertrand Dechaufour. Next time in Paris, I will go to the D'Orsay museum.
It sounds so wonderful. So happy you had a good time. There are so many houses I will never even hear of. There are no perfume stores that I know of in the Chicago area. I might go to Paris some day.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 we do have Nordstrom but they dont have the range that a dedicated perfume store has like the ones you visited in Paris. The new houses likely struggle to get into retail stores and some brands aren't sold in the US
Wow! Impressive List of Fragrances. Glad that you had a good time. So many star perfumes that you are discussing. ❤ = Cacao Porcelana, Atelier Materi. My favorite from the house.
Mine too! Have only tried Santal Blond besides this one, though. Can't believe I missed the opportunity to try them all when I was at Jovoy. But they had so much and I just couldn't handle it, haha.
I enjoy Blanche Bete. For me it’s a winter fragrance, perfect for a cold rainy day, which we have had a bit of here in South Australia. Glad you had a lovely time in Paris. 😃 edit: Fragrantica for me.
When I was in Paris in May I bought Tabac Exquis from Caron at Printemps (30 ml) and it is sooo good. I think there are 3 in their tobacco range. I will buy a larger bottle next time I go!
I prefer Fragrantica even with their occasional spelling mistakes, the large number of English reviews makes up for them. The mostly translated German reviews on Parfumo aren’t nearly as helpful - something really is lost in translation. I deleted the Sniff app last week - it didn’t offer anything that Fragrantica doesn’t have times 100. I broke my “only buy a bottle of what you love” rule and bought a “like” - Escale en Indonesie. The ambergris note is captivating and it provides a needed a break from all the ambers I’ve been wearing and patchoulis I’ve been testing. Thanks for introducing me to it and to the value in fragrances that offer something interesting - I think of you every time I wear it!
So glad to hear that! I love Escale en Indonesie. I only wear it for myself, though. Never out to an event. I am not sure that other people would understand. Love ambergris!
I recommend printemps for luxury designer + niche. Samaritaine is 2nd with luxury designers. It has some niche . + the bonus to carry louis vuitton, celine and fragonard too
I have a sample of Blanche Bête and tried it a few times..It's too much for me..I get a milky plastic doll smell that can be nauseating for me. I know many love that fragrance

100% agree about Blanche Bete, so glad you're the first to say it 🙌 I got bored too, buttery cloying and gave up on my decant😏 so glad I didn't buy it in the end 😅 good longevity, but kinda wish it faded after a while 😂 xx
I am so glad you had such a wonderful time, and how could you not! I recall getting caught in those downpours while visiting, they are something else, even from a gal from the rainy Pacific NW! I get completely overwhelmed in crowds and also in some shops when I am excited to try perfumes. I always forget which brands I was interested in and of course, if a salesperson is trying to be too helpful, it totally distracts my train of thought and I forget to try brands. I went in Sephora with my daughter the other day and that was just too much for me. There is too much product from so many skin care and makeup brands I didn't buy a thing, haha! I did try on some fragrances though. OXJulia
I would take a chaotic perfume counter with no associates any day than a luxury counter where the associate is staring at you and personally spritzing each strip. Never do I sweat more! Lol. I must go to Paris one day and go to these places. Alice in Paris has some great content on perfume in particular French perfumes. I am waiting for her to do a video on perfume shopping in Paris. Btw unrelated but I just saw this thing on Facebook saying that all Swedish public buildings use stone/marble with fossilized Ordovician shells embedded in them. Next time you’re out and about there take a look. It’s super interesting. Must be a thing where you are.
Haha, I know what you mean. I like help from people who are passionate about showing me stuff but also lets me sniff on my own. In Warsaw at this incredible shop the staff did all the spraying which bugged me at first but then accepted and I saw the benefits of it. They wrote on each strip. Will check for shells in public buildings, never heard of that!
Correction! Amouage fragrances at Jovoy are not 455 euros in general but around 345. The only ones that were 455 were King Blue (they did have it!) and Silver Oud.
I was just thinking about Caron today. I wanted to try some of their more 'classic' options and the only way for me would be to blind buy (can't get samples).
