@@savorsalvagescent2300 I'm on the hunt for something similar, because its almost impossible to find here now even ebay etc. Lolita Lempicka was suggested but didn't do it for me. If you ever come across anything that you think is close to Eau de Reglisse please do let me know!
I am totally living through your trip to Paris perfume shops! I’m not familiar with Caron but loved hearing about your experience there. Thanks so much for sharing your trip there and the fragrances and shops you visited there. What a special time you must have had…I’m still disappointed with hearing that the shops were a bit discriminating with how they treated their customers. It is what it is today I guess…I think we sometimes experience that same treatment here too…but it’s disappointing! I can’t wait to hear more though! ❤️
Donna, hi! Great to hear grin you! Hope you are doing well on this spring day. I sure appreciate you being here and taking the time to encourage others!
Hi Sam! So great to hear from you. It was a really special experience to see Caron in person and so far I am loving the scents. XO and hope you are keeping well.
Oh my gosh I was just listening to your recent video… I LOVE hearing about these scents no one is talking about! And I agree that Caron bottle is so pretty! Thanks, friend.
So now I need to buy the tabac exquis scent it sounds beautiful but in the picot bottle! I only have one vintage Caron scent fleurs de rocaille and I must've been blind but I didn't see the Guerlain store when I went to Paris the last time It's a shame you didn't go to Jovoy you should go next time many many scents
I forgot that I own Fleur de Rocaille, another beauty, yes! I did really want to make it to Jovoy but had something come up my last day and ran out of time. Knowing that, a lovely friend of mine decanted some from his collection so I can test in the coming weeks.
I have Tabac Exquis and love it! I get pipe tobacco with cocoa and honey. I’ve been thinking about getting more samples from them. Maybe I’ll get Narcisse Blanc as one of those. I used to like Tabac Blond, but it doesn’t smell the same on me after menopause. Sigh. Nice video!
Hi Sheryl! This was a fun post to read, thanks for being here. Isn’t skin chemistry (and how it can change over time) bizarre? My boss wears Dior Addict and it smells so good on her… like I just want to be in the scent cloud. I wear it and it smells off. Tabac Exquis is so interesting and I think as much about cocoa… have you worn it in the winter/cold weather? I’m excited for that. Best to you!!
@@savorsalvagescent2300 Yes,I’ve worn it in the winter. I think it does really well. The honey and cocoa give it a cozy feel and the performance holds up well in the cold. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how it does in warmer weather, since I just got it in November.
I'm sorry for you that the staff at the Caron store was snobby, when you've been looking forward to this experience for so long! All the better that you made a regular bottle a tester - lol ! - and were able to discover some lovely scents for yourself too. Did you go shopping at the Marché aux puces de la Porte de Clignancourt... visit la Rue de la Grande-Chaumière (I lived there for a while in the 90s!) and its art academies and have you had dinner at La Coupole? I miss Paris in the spring! Btw in English you almost pronounced the French name right: Tabac Exquis = exqWi ;-)
Amy!! I am enjoying these Après Paris videos so much! I’m glad you didn’t let the reception keep you from smelling your fragrances! I’m still wonderstruck that we got to connect on your way home. What a joy! ✌🏽🕺🏼♥️ …but if the bottle you sprayed wasn’t a tester bottle, what was it?
caron has discontinued many classic perfumes, among them are nuit de noel, bellodgia, en avion, infini, french can can, or et noir acaciosa, farnesiana, nocturnes, coup de fouet. about 15 years ago you are able to get these perfumes at caron boutiques that dispense from the fountains.
Thank you so much for this intel! I am looking for a few of these via ebay, etc. Have you tried any of their new scents, and if so, do you think they compare in quality?
@@savorsalvagescent2300 i have and the quality doesn't even come close. the present production is water down comparing to the older production that were made 20 years ago or longer. you still can get vintage caron perfumes on ebay. the only drawback is the top notes of the vintage are pretty much gone, and the older the perfume, the more likely that the top notes dissipated but the heart and base notes are still intact.
I find that all of the classic discontinued ones still retain their full power.....I have them as part of my collection and still enjoy them all...thank you for your trip experience! The CARON boutique that they had in NYC ,once upon a time never would have scolded you but would have embrace your curiosity....
Thanks for sharing. I was upset for you to get such a rude treatment. Every customer is precious. I hope that person is no longer there. I was curious about Narcisse Blanc but then I saw the word 'woody amber' highlighted on the official website and it made me cautious (personal experience). But I might give it a try now if you think they smell expensive.
I loved this. I never get tired of watching 'hauls' as long as the bounty is from areas of ultra-specialised, niche interests. I think that's my caveat. General shopping hauls of ordinary people are of no real interest to me, either online or in person. It's finding people with sophisticated, developed tastes in a niche area of interest that I get a thrill out of and love to watch and listen to. Now, I have another name to add to our list of 'mysteriously ignored but finest quality fragrance houses': Olfactive Studio! NOBODY talks about them or reviews them either! There's an obsession with Parfums de Marly, BDK, Amouage, Initio and so on, but never Olfactive Studio. Have you noticed this glaring omission too?
Hi friend!! I am interested in them! Love their concepts. In my case, I feel that (maybe because it is a smaller house from France), they are a little too spendy for me to blind buy from the US. I know a few yourtubers really love the house… I think Persolaise, the perfume guy, My World of Fragrance (love her!), and I think Paola Bianca. But nothing compares to the hype trains for Marly, etc. I think Amouage has earned it but some of these are just working overtime to hustle their scents where I’m not sure the smaller houses can. But I have a lot to learn about the underbelly of it all, lol. Have you read « The Ghost Perfumer »? I just heard a fascinating interview w/ the author but haven’t read the book yet. Sam from My World of Fragrance just made a video re: this that I’m excited to watch. Thanks for your kind + interesting post.

Men & women love it, it seems. Looking to get Tabac Exquis in the future. Unless I get Dior Homme Parfum original bottle
Ooooh, both choices are outstanding!!
Get both. Different scents both gorgeous
Shame on that shopkeeper!
Nice to hear you found some goodies despite that. 😎💕
