- After installing a stand pipe in the main fuel tank, I also went and retarded the timing just a bit as it was hard to start. So far so good now, a little less power but easy to start. Handled the woods with no problem.

She sure sounds good! Like that stainless muffler as well.
I probably would have bought the steel muffler myself but this was a Christmas present.

Was this H originally a kerosene model? Do you still run on kerosene or do you run it on gas?
This was originally a distillate tractor. I built this motor for gas but I saved the original pistons for a potential future distillate engine build. Thanks for asking !
you did an excellent job on the conversion to Gas Engine! is Distillate A form of kerosene? I’ve heard of it before but I did not know what it was!
@@rudycarlson8245 If gas is the highest octane and fuel oil (diesel) is the lowest, kerosene (K-1)is in the middle. Distillate would be between kerosene and diesel fuel. It was considered waste from the process of making gasoline and was sold as cheap tractor fuel.
