I think that's what I was doing wrong all my life, I didn't know that I have to play with pomegranate first & then turn the plate upside down & then turn the spoon upside down. Thank you for showing us the right way

You can also cut it open like he does and then put it in water. You can either tap it under the water or gently rub the seeds and the seeds will float. Same result with easier clean up!
Thank you for this video. I do remember the first time that I bought a pomegranate and I had not idea how to start cutting this great fruit. I did something similar but this way is much better.

The very best way to eat a pomegranate is to live in Morocco where I did and there are pomegranate trees everywhere so they are free. You get the very young yellow ones open them up and they are filled with little pink sparkling jewels and the seed is still just a sliver thread-like and soft. It is the best pomegranate I have ever eaten in all of my born days!

WOW what a great way to access these things. They're absolutely delicious. In the past I made a mess of getting the berries out. BTW just eat the whole berry they have a small seed inside but they don't matter. Unfortunately my store doesn't always have them.

Great video. This is great if you need the seeds say to make a pie, juice etc... This is a great extraction method and fast. But as far as eating the seeds, I much prefer the way I did as a kid. Just picking them individually and eating them. I wouldn't want a mouthful of these at 1 time. Too tart. Part of the joy in eating it is digging for the seeds. Pretty much like pistachio nuts or sunflower seeds of which I love and are addicted too, but I will never buy them without the shells/ hulls. I find throwing them in my mouth and first sucking the salt off the outer shell before biting and extracting the inside is part of the joy of eating them. (For me) But thanks for sharing this method. It's good to know.

A bird's beak paring knife is the best for this, in my opinion. Also try and cut the top deep enough to see the membrane divisions to know where to cut down the sides. Doing that also allows you to access the core better.
The bird's beak knife is also great to remove the outside rind so you can make it look like what the thumbnail showed. I've done it many times as a display for dinner parties (my wife has me do it because she said she has no patience for it (it's quick once you practice a few times) plus she's useless in the kitche;xfpyju976 ....and THAT was her rolled up magazine across the back of my head...

I don't know my friend, with the pomegrams we have here in Italy I tried to slap em with full force but the grams were still attached to the "skin". They don't wanna live the skin no matter what lol, you have to do it with your hands. This is still a good method to follow until 2.19 through
