Love this. Please don’t fall into the editing trend where it gets very artificial and choppy and impersonal. We love the silence/downtimes/the umms/etc. :) looking forward to your videos
I’m enjoying your content already, esp. as a fellow older feminist woman! I’d love to see your all time fave 10 or 20 books, I find that so helpful and interesting. Again, as someone who has read for decades, it would probs have older gems like mine does (and would give some attention to them for newer readers). As an aside, and I hope you don’t take this as criticism, but it would be lovely if you got a stand for your camera. I loved seeing your journal, but got a bit seasick watching this. (Little desk-mount stands with or without/out lights are so cheap now.) Looking forward to more vids from you!
Thank you! Doing something like this is going to be enriching. I pulled my 2024 reads the other day but never would have thought about a journal. Fun!!
Thank you for the lovely video. The journal looks great, and motivating! The Vindication of the Rights of Woman is too early to be Victorian anyway, but perfect for nonfiction November, perhaps? Also, it is so nice to see cat Foster hanging out nearby. - Anna
I watched this very early this morning and I’m returning later in the day to comment on how I like the artistic touches you added to your journal. I also appreciate that you don’t impose perfection upon yourself. That’s very freeing and allows your creativity to run wild. Foster’s foot is always welcome. I guess he’s just dipping his toe in for now but it won’t be long before he tries to pull focus away from you and hog the limelight.😼
I really like the idea of how you tracked in what months you read the books by color. I'm going to incorporate that into my journal as well. On the dnf'ing I use the initials PAFN....put away for now, if I'm just not in the mood for it currently but prob will pick it back up. Love your journal set up.
Great spreads, Lisa. I stumbled upon your channel this morning and love it. Missing Jennifer so much already. I have lists with her book recommendations, too. I would love to hear how your bible reading is going. I discovered it later in life, too.
I created my first book journal in 2024; I am sure it will morph over time I am team cat in the video Loved how he was just hanging out in the box in your intro video
Love your set up! Had to laugh about the many, many lines for your future dnf's. LoL. (And the Wollstonecraft fits with Nonfiction November, so... Just saying...). And if you're ever interested in doing a buddyread: let me know!
Ah!! Of course, non-fiction November!! I'd be very much into a buddy read with you Britta I think you're so great and love your channel! And yes, I'm a hard DNF'er: it either has to work, or we move it along LOL
@@TheUnhingedWomanBookClub Aww, thank you! And as for buddyreading: are you on voxer? Most of us connect there for chats / buddyreads. (At least we did, at the moment voxer has major issues and is down a lot...). Instagram is another option.
Nice book journal. I always write the wrong information in the wrong spots, especially when I try to have a nice looking place for the information. I figure years from now no one will know. I like the DNF pages, a sign of an active mind 😉.
I'm always up for a solid DNF if it's not working out...there are so many books out there!! And of course I always screw up a page in a new journal, I mean, may as well get it over with at the start! :)
I am such a mood reader. One of the reasons I have not started a booktube channel. I can say I am going to read this book and the next minute I start a completely different book 🤦🏽♀️
I love this. This further motivates me to get a journal, but I have to watch videos to get an idea of how I want to do it! My highlighters are begging to be used though. 😂 8:02 - Yes! This is such a great idea too because Goodreads and Storygraph don't track this as far as I know. Great ideas!
Also can I recommend Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll. Just finished that one... it's the idea of two women negotiating their world after being affected by the actions of a serial killer. It was inspired by the Bundy case, but doesn't use his case, it's comparative but fictional.
Loved this 😍 about feminist manifestos, I recommend you the book I'm currently reading: "The Carrier Bag Theory and other texts/essays" by Ursula K. Le Guin. It's very complex but very very good! Hope you like it 🥰 keep up the good work 🙌🏼🤍
I love fantasy so I want to give you 3 books that have the best female characters and written by female writers!! Daughter of the Empire by Wurts/Feist, Boudica Dreaming the Eagle by Manda Scott & Children of Gods & Fighting Men by Shauna Lawless! If you want to mix up!!!

Thank you so much!! Yay to shaky videos and lots of awkward pauses...I ain't got time for fancy editing LOL
Indeed, you don't know how much videos get better when there's a cat in it😆
He's always to to stealing the spotlight!!
Love the cat foot on the left. I did not see him at all but I already love him❤
He loves to be included so I'm sure he'll be in future videos for sure!! 😻
Came for the reading journal, stayed for the kitty paw! 😂
😻
Oooh I love the idea of keeping track of WHY you DNF!!!
Wait and the idea of a purge list!!! So smart!
Right?!?
I love your idea of tracking end books and why.
If you could please share more on youtube about your artistic reading journals and how you make them 🤩📚🎨
For sure!
Love this ! Book organization & a cat ( Hi Foster! ) = Happy place
Love the idea of your reading journal and how you are organizing this. Will follow many of your great suggestions.
Love the mellow cat.
He's a scene stealer for sure LOL
Welcome to book tube.. glad someone closer to my age has book tube that can give the older generation recommendations on books to read ..
I'll do my best!! Thanks for watching!

I've picked up a tripod since I made this video, so no more shaky cam!! :)
I've seen a few people with journals, but this is a cut above.
Aww thank you!!
Jennifer Brooks❤- so inspiring & the void she has left is deeply saddening).
It's so true, I miss her already 😓
So good I watched it twice. Now off to Indigo to buy a journal.
I love your first two videos!
Yay! Thank you!
Love your journaleyecandy,so inspiring!!! Glad i am not the only moodreader here🤗
I can't make any promises about TBRs...!! LOL 💕
You're so creative and talented.

Awesome!! I've already done more things to it so I'll share an update in the future...and with a tripod so I don't make everyone sea sick LOL

Cute journal
Love this! You have inspired me to create my own book journal!
I created my first book journal in 2024; I am sure it will morph over time I am team cat in the video Loved how he was just hanging out in the box in your intro video
Ha!! That's the cat's heated basket, there's a heating pad in the bottom of it so that's usually where he can be found!! :)
Love your journal and all the different things you are going to keep track of.
Thanks for sharing your reading journal! I love it! I usually use bujo's for mine for the creativity outlet. 🤩 I used Goodreads as well.
Thanks so much!!

Impressive! I love organization and let me tell you, you have got it going on. Looks like all the basis are covered. 👍🏼
Thanks so much! 😊 I've already been doing some updates and I'll post another video soon (and using a tripod haha)!
I also started my first book journal this year. Love yours. You give some great ideas on different ways to track what you’re reading.
Wonderful! I'll do an update video on this as I work my way through it, I've already made some more things!! :)
Just found you and love the channel and Foster! ❤
And an extra “like” for Foster’s foot. 👍
😆😻
Journal looks good.

Yay! 50 is my goal too. Are you on Goodreads? Love the Unhinged Women video!!
I am on Goodreads! It’s crazy out of date though as I haven’t been on it much!
I am such a mood reader. One of the reasons I have not started a booktube channel. I can say I am going to read this book and the next minute I start a completely different book 🤦🏽♀️
Start your channel!! There is space for us mood-readers on BookTube! ❤
Cats always!!
Yes!!
Aw, I started my first reading journal this year as well. I don’t feel guilty about DNF’n a book either 😅🤷🏽♀️I love that for us!
It’s so freeing!!

Get that journal out and go for it!!! 💓
I haven't read it yet, but I scored the Vindication of the Rights of Women on the Kindle app free due to it being public domain.
Also can I recommend Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll. Just finished that one... it's the idea of two women negotiating their world after being affected by the actions of a serial killer. It was inspired by the Bundy case, but doesn't use his case, it's comparative but fictional.

Loved your setup, but need to keep the camera still 😊
I know!! I’m on a hunt for a tripod!! 😂❤

The cat always gets the likes LOL
