For people asking about frozen berries - I have made this once with fresh one with frozen. I would choose fresh if you can, but frozen does work. The liquid from the frozen berries loosens the curd a little, so they don't set quite as well and the curd can run a little after cutting. They cut out of the pan very well, but if you want to take them out and make them into bars wait until they're absolutely all the way cooled and know they may not be quite as pretty.

Thank you so much for reminding me of these treats which were very much like yours, but used glace cherries instead of the citrus and berry elements. (PS. I have such fond memories of blackberry picking also and am so glad I've been able to introduce it to my little ones even where we are, in the city).

I love crumbles of any flavor. It's the streusel topping that pulls me in but I have to do this one. I have never worked with lemon curd but I am going to do your recipe with an orange and a lime.
