Great video, Chris. I use the simulations on my X100V and X-T4. What I find frustrating is when changing the WB or use color shift it affects my original film simulations too. So setting up a new recipe based on Velvia, with WB to daylight and a shift of -R4 and -2B it affects my original Velvia setting too. Or I must be doing something wrong... That's why I stopped with film simulations. Because when I wanted to use a regular film simulation, say Astia, and I have already a custom setting based on Astia, it uses these setting too when selection the original film simulation.
Thank you so much for the video! However, when I try to save a custom setting, the option is greyed out - do you know why it may be? Also wanted to ask you if it's possible to use custom recipes in auto mode? Thank you!
Great video thanks. I'm wondering if there's something different on the X-T50 as it doesn't seem to show the red dots and enable me to save the settings. Try again tomorrow!
Hi Chris, thank you for this video. I just have one question though, when I edit the settings i.e Highlight, I don't have the option of 3.5 and I don't see what the lens sees, it's just the menu. I don't know if I'm not doing it right or what but I have a X-T3 camera.
If youre on an older camera (my case, the X-T3) you'll have some workarounds. 1. You won't see the red dots on your changes. 2. Once you've input your recipe, press the LEFT button on the back of your camera. You'll then be prompted to SAVE your setting. 3. The +/- RB buttons don't work in the edit mode. After you've saved your recipe go back to SELECT SETTING and then go to WB. Choose the same WB for your recipe and press the RIGHT button on the back of your camera. Then you can access the RB settings. NOTE: you can only set one RB setting per WB setting. Meaning, if you set it for AUTO WB, then every recipe using AUTO will have that setting. But you can set a different one for each setting (Auto, Daylight, Kelvin, etc).
Thanks Chris very helpful one thing I came up against is that the save settings was greyed out on my T5. However, it seems to save the settings very odd not sure of its a firmware bug.
Great video, thank you. However, I am trying to add recipes to my new xt50 and when I start creating a recipe I do not get any red dots. I must be doing something wrong. Any thoughts, ideas? thank you.
hello great video. Just got an XH1 with an 18 to 135 lens. Lost with the Fuji color profiles......a Leica user...so this is confusing. Is there possibly a way to see firmware on this camera?
@@emabrkiceach setting should be marked with a red dot when changed. Does that happen for you? If not, that’s an indicator that the saving function is blocked. Not sure why that is, though.
EDIT: I found out why. Most probably you have like me AUTO UPDATE CUSTOM SETTINGS on enable. The save option is greyed out for me too, also there are no red dots, when I make changes, BUT the custom settings are saved anyway.
Is there not a way to do this on your computer and then sync them to your camera? Or download them from somewhere and install? Surely this is possible.
You need to specify the model rather than just say Fujifilm cameras - it's different enough across models to cause lots of confusion. For example on my XE-2 these instructions make no sense.
I'm having trouble getting fancyzones to work like yours. I really need to become more productive. The widows are not showing that much area like yours are. Can you tell me how to fix this? Also, your content is great.
Thanks man, you saved me from going insane
you would think in todays tech this would be much simpler thank you
great video

At last I have successfully built recipes and your video was key to this happening, very much appreciated
Straight to the point and extremely helpful. Appreciate it!
Thanks, man! I’m two years into Fuji and film simulations finally make sense!
Haha that’s exactly how I felt!
Nice demo - I've forgotten all this and I'll definitely use - and that save thing took me an age to get right when I first tried it !
Hi Chris, I'm so happy I met you by accident, but you brought me back to life. As someone else said earlier, I was going crazy. Thank you so much.
Just snagged a T-X30 II after work today, this has helped me get all set up. Thank you!
What are your favorite recipes? I’m getting started and I’m overwhelmed
I could‘t do it With my T-x 30 II

Hi!! Just wondering if you figured this out?? Thank you ❤
@@elenamariahdid you figure it out :(
This was really helpful! I’d love to see more simulations you have and this one in use!
thx very much for this video... it was very well explained and it worked very well with my x-t30!
Thanks Chris - really helpful and well explained. All the best
What about ISO and exposure compensation settings for the recipe? I can’t find where to input this.
I don’t see the off option under custom settting that you show at 4:35. Any idea how I can add that off button?
Did you end up figuring this out? I don’t have that option either

Why do I also not see dots on my xt5?
SETTINGS Are GREYED if you are on AUTO ! check the top dial and move that physical dial to not AUTO

I cant press some of the settings such grain effect pls tell me how to access all the settings
So helpful, thank you!
Thanks for the video, very helpful 🙏🏾
So if you change settings elsewhere in regular use, you’ll have to change the recipes as well since they save as a whole custom menu config?

newbie here, my Dynamic Range, Tone Curve & Clarity are all greyed out, ie oi cant change them....could someone pleas advise ...how do i fix this?
I'm in the same boat, it's so frustrating!
i can't press the save the changes button. it's grey out, idk what to do, please how can i click the save button
I had this issue, too. Try resetting your camera first, then input the simulation recipe. Menu > wrench > user settings > reset > set up reset
Sorry but did you figure this out? I’m having trouble for days now and just can’t figure it out. I’ve done the full reset and still nothing

How do I save the recipes in xt100?
Thank you mate!!! this was very helpful
Doesn't work on XE-2 model. Not able to save custom white balance values; e.g., stuck on default R:0 B:0
when using the Fujifilm Simulations, can't I use anymore the built-in Fujifilm simulations on the camera?
Hi everyone! can i make this in my XT2? i dont see the same options in my menus...
Is this adding to the already existing film sims, or is it editing and replacing one of the film sims?
When i go into edit i got noone of these setting like Dr, sharpness etc under IQ menu??
Thanks, any reason why Clatiry is grayed out for me? Cheers
bruh my camera dont have grain effect option and many others options too
what camera is that ?
Very helpful!! 😎🙌🏼

Unfortunately not.
Your film simulation look so good, can you share it too sir😁🙏🏽
Thanks! A great how to!
how are you recording your screen
Hi All. Is this available on the x-t4 ?
Can i use this on xs20
For all fujis?
When I hit back to save, save is grayed out
Can i do this on a xt200? 😢
You’re my hero
This isn’t working for me 😢
Nothing shows red when I change it and it all goes back to the factory presets 👎🏼
thanks for sharing!
its not really working on my x-h2s.
WHY ARE THESE SETTINGS GREYED OUT PLEASE
Did you ever figure this out?! I am getting the same :(
Every time that I edit and save my preset, it all goes back to zero even after I save
u need to do give way

These instructions would work well for the XT series
Yikes, fuji made that difficult! 😂
Haha indeed!

I think you can only save 7 recipes and not 10. Am I missing something? Thanks for the quick intro to simulations, really helpful.
@@GurvinderSingh-rs6kq you can save just 7 recipes
