He has no "tech knowledge". He is spreading bogus information because he doesn't understand what is actually happening. This is base function of Chromium that Edge is built on, and Google Chrome has the same setting, and has done for YEARS
Thanks for video. Idk if I will go back to 11. Dual booting 10 and Manjaro atm, Really gaming always puts me back to Windows, launchers break typically. I remember debloating 10 and 11. Still kept 11 on a laptop, might try 22h3 dev on a spare machine idk, am not a fan of the centered over bottom left align.
I've been playing a sort of hide-and-seek with something called "Microsoft Pay": sometimes it shows on the background process list, but then when I move my mouse to click to turn it off it disappears. Another annoying one is "News and Interests", which I presume is another piece of Microsoft spyware. It's generally there in the processes list but doesn't show up on the Startup processes list. While I'm looking at the Startup list, though it's not Microsoft I keep wondering if Logitech Download Assistant is something I need to have running. While I trust Logitech about a thousand times as much as I trust Microsoft, so I'm not worried that this is spyware, if I don't actually need to have it running all the time I'd like to turn it off.
Hi. It is still running in the background. Even if disable Startup boost and continue running in background. So many things i used to stop it but its still runs. Why could that be?
Hi, I think it is even worse than you described: I installed the free version of Privacy Eraser (which is poorly named: it increases privacy, and doesn't erase it). When I ran the scan of Privacy Eraser, it showed that Edge was open - but I never opened it. I see that Edge can be uninstalled using iObit uninstaller. I did that, and then noticed that my internal SSD drive went from 65 GB to 115 GB! I saw some warnings to not uninstall the other Edge apps with slightly different names, as it could make the computer unusable. However, I have not had any issues. I am curious what you think about removing Edge? Thank you.
still doesn't work for me, disabled everything in the settings, still edge opens by itself then hides and then runs in the background. and it plays random youtube video.
No, sadly didn't work for me, Microsoft Edge is still running in the background when using Visual Studio 2022. Edge keeps running until I close it using Task Manager.
Disappointed that he's spreading bogus lies? Edge is based on Chromium. This is base function of Chromium, and Google Chrome has this same setting and done this for years.
Thanks. I Had 5 that can’t end the task and this video helped me a lot

It's not new, it comes from Chromium builds and Google Chrome has done this for years.
Thank you 😌

in Search, type Startup Apps and then disable Edge auto-start there
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thanks for responding but sadly Edge isn't in 'Startup Apps' on my PC.
That comically big mouse pointer is somewhat weird
😂
Good point! Someone will be disappointed 😄
Who? Bill Gates? LoL

Following the Copilot update in version 23H2, this process is no longer functional.
