I will be donating. I know what it’s like to be poor and have no food. I grew up in kalihi. Kalhi Valley Homes but me and my family got evicted and ended up homeless and living at Sand island beach park. I was driven to never be in that predicament ever again. I moved to the mainland in 94 and never looked back. Today I own my own house, two vehicles and owner of Josiah home improvement. The American dream is possible but always pay it forward. I haven’t been home in almost 30 years. Your videos is very comforting and brings back a lot of good childhood memories from a lot of the places that you feature. I used to go to Soon's when I lived in Salt Lake.....decades ago! But that honey garlic chicken really looked amazing. And YES, do vlogmass if it's not going to stress you out too much! I was one of those who watched after the fact, but I loved it. Just that intro with everyone (especially Lucy) in their Santa hats made me smile. 😃

Again you guys show great videos driving directions. I eat at harbor village dim sum in Hawaii Kai. I show people one time and that is their favorite place now, the Korean church from downtown and people from Japan.
SOONS!! That's my mine and my wife's favorite Korean take out spot. Their sauce and crispy mandoo are some of the best I've ever had and although the meat jun is debatable depending on how you like it, it is our favorite on the island. If you get just the meat jun plate they give ALOT. Love Soons!!❤

My go to for Korean are Choi’s Family Restaurant located on McCully Street in Hana Market (they share the same parking lot as Chiko’s Tavern. Strictly take out. Choi’s food is AWESOME and she gives a lot. My other is Sorobal!

I was wondering if you have heard of Manny's Maladadas, who had a store in Pearl City, but had a food stall at The Kalakaua Farmer's Market? I think their malasadas are one of the best!

My family came to Oahu in 1983 and my mom's been at Soons since then. I'm biased but the meat jun is my favorite because I grew up with it. But I understand the people that don't like it. I live in Sesttle now and watch you guys when I get homesick. By the way when I visit I ask my mom for the Han special lol. My name is Han. It had kalbi BBQ chicken meat jun and Mando 🥰

Go to Soon's all the time since my Mom (96) lives just below Tripler. She loves korean food. Her picture is on the wall of Staduim Camellia Restaurant.

Been eating at Soon's since the 80's. I think it has burned down twice that I know of. The meat Jun is super thin but like you mentioned, that sauce is like crack! The joke in high school was that you could put it on cardboard, pretty similar to their meat jun, and it'll taste good!

I always order a regular and a mini no sauce as that CHICKEN is the bomb and I have them place the mac salad from both plates in a side container as i HATE my mac salad HOT🎯🎯🎯

On the subject of vlogmas. Acouple I follow do Vegas vlogs did "scotchmas" last year. They drank a shot of different scotch from Ireland.
They said it took a toll on them having to upload and edit every single day so they decided to consolidate it for one week's worth in one video. Just a suggestion.

The LA Kalbi looked amazing; I'm with you guys - must have meat char and yes, must gnaw around the bones . When I think about Kalbi, it's the burnt edges and cleaning the bones that make you crave it. I wish I could be there for your meet-up at the Food Drive. I was really curious to hear your opinion on Soon’s meat jun. I don’t eat red meat anymore but I was never a fan of soon’s growing up and people would always rave about it. I grew up on Dong Yang meat jun and I just couldn’t get on the soon’s train.
With so many meat juns out there it’s so hard to choose which is the best!😅🤙🏻

Soon's! Just down the street from my work place. Their Meat Jun is not my fav,, but the Kalbi and the Crack sauce can't be beat. Want to try Islanders' Honey Garlic Chix. Will let you know if they will put the sauce on the side. Vlogmas 2! Lots of work for you so thanks in advance for doing this if you can....I looked forward to it everyday. BTW, encourage all Foodie Ohana to contribute to the Food Drive if you can. If not Hawaii, then in the area you live. Well, I'm glad to know that SOMEONE ELSE besides me is not really a fan of Soon's meat jun. I think it is much too thin, and the egg batter is overcooked so it's kind of chewy. Everyone else I know who goes there says I'm crazy but, well TEHO. Also, the "kim chee" was a bit disappointing in that it was regular cabbage, not won bok. Not sure about now though. But having said that, everything else is great! When I go to Soon's, I'll get everything but the meat jun.
I miss meat Jun so much, hard to find here in Utah. Yummi’s sells it but they run out quick.
Loved their Kalbi and Soons, but totally get why people love Soons meat jun but just not our style🤙🏻😋

Tip. We always have a real knives with us when we travel. Folding, razor sharp. Keep in car. We also take to steak houses because of their silly saws they call steak knives.
