I came from DANVSWORLD channel. Never knew about the Chinese and Japanese influence on LOCAL food vs (native) Hawaiian food. Good to know. Those are very generous portions. The really big plates can probably fill 2 quart containers. Yes, fried chicken and any other fried food with ketchup is great!

HOo... that's a decent walk from the beginning of the video to Side Street Inn... especially when there's parking nearby and on roof. Walking from home?
Not sure why and not same song, but when Amanda is walking slo-mo to Side Street Inn coupled with your music, reminds me of Jamine Lee (now Chacon?) music video, "Last First Kiss" (with Pieter T and Jah Maoli)... especially when Amanda turns the corner from Piikoi to Hopaka. I think it's because they filmed the video right down the street at that Mother Waldron Park and at the Pier parking lot (I think).

Absolutely marvelous.. 💯 percent. Let's get it. Stupendously lovely like a riddle wrapped up in a haiku: like garlic, ginger and sugar sautéed in soy sauce. The yaki in teriyaki blended so delicately that one thoughts and emotions are hardly noticeable until it becomes carefully scrutinized flavors. Love side street inn! Now I’m regretting not eating there when we were on Oahu. Pork chops are always tasty. We will add that fried rice next time. Great choice for going to Foodland for dessert. They always have lots of choices. Mahalo for a great video 🌺

So good! Family (4 adults) ordered the Price Fix menu. Got garlic edamame and Kim chee fried rice. What a joke that menu sdts it feeds 3-4. We could have fed 6-8 with that much food. Great comfort food in Oahu!

BTW..Kauai has a restaurant called Local Grinds and a box lunch place called Paradise Grinds. I suggest you try both.
Great video. We try to go to Sidestreet every time we visit the islands. You got all the favorites! We love the Farmer’s salad, it is a good balance for all the proteins. Our other favorite, Jimbo Restaurant, closed. Can you guys think of somewhere similar?

I watch a lot of utube street food shows. My son Chris and his family are in Hawaii as I’m writing this. So I decided to see if there is a street food show for Hawaii. This is how I happened to find your show. My husband has some relatives in Hawaii who have a take out dine in fast food place called Young’s Fish Market. They have been there forever. One year we finally made a trip to Hawaii to meet my husband’s cousin Charlotte at the Fish Market. They really don’t sell fish. They have the best Lau Lau.
Charlottes sons run the restaurant but it’s Charlotte’s daughter Gloria who we know not so much Gloria’s bros. I was wondering if you could do one of your food tastings at Young’s Fish Market? I don’t think you would be disappointed.
I’m enjoying seeing what yummy foods you’re having. We’ve only been to Hawaii that one time about 12 years ago. I think this is Chris’ 3rd or 4th time.
