You Da Man!! Problems with 2003 LT finally solved. Did have to eliminate the blue wire (with red dots) from the three wire splice in order to make left blinker operate properly.

This guy is right on the money! Followed this to the letter and it started up and ran great. It’s a bit of a chore to get to, but once you see the alarm speaker, it come out easy. Then just put it all back together and no more alarm crap!

    Hi Kirk,
I wanted to apologize for stating that Kirk's alarm bypass and removal not working. Yesterday I had a chance to test the wiring around the battery and found a couple of lost wires. I re-attached the wires and now the bikes work.
Thanks again Kirk for the instructions to resolve my issue.

As always, you have produced another superior video. Clear and concise and very informative and helpful. Especially noteworthy is including information for the earlier alarm system, as well. That's the one I needed. I'm going to go try it now! Fingers crossed..... Again, my sincerest thanks. David

Thank you for the awesome video. Our 2009 K1200lt started randomly beeping and 4ways started flashing recently on a 3,000 mile trip. It lasted for about 30 minutes, then healed itself. It did that twice! Now I know how to disable it. Thank you.

This video here of removing the alarm cured my intermittent cruise control issue. It now works 100% of the time. I'm going to assume the alarm has a motion sensor in it the CC uses to disarm the CC when the bike goes over a bumpy road. At any rate, thanks Kirk for a very helpful video.

    Thank you for the video.
I have the same model and when I connected the blue wire with red stripe my left side blinker would not shut off and emergency light would be illuminated.
A simple solution to this is not include Blue with Red stripe into the first cluster and only jump four wires instead of five.
The bike runs perfectly fine took care of the running light issue hopefully this information helps those of you with the same issue.

Thanks so much for all the valuable info! I have an ‘03 K1200lt and my alarm system matches up to what you walk through on the ‘05 and newer models. Not sure if they were testing the new assembly, but either way it worked perfectly. 30 minutes from start to finish including seat and case removal. Now I’m back on the road thanks to your expertise.

My 03 appears to be the same setup as the 05 and up shown in kirk's video with the 132 pin connector. My only worry is the few commentors on here that state after the cut, and splice , turn signal issue cropped up...Did you have any of those. I'm a bit worried about . Is it truly as simple as connecting those wires listed?
      Thanks

I just recently purchased a k1200lt a 2001. And all your videos have been extremely helpful. I would like to upgrade my alarm on the bike. Do you have any good ideals for a upgrade? And if so could you make a video on how to uninstall and install new alarm system. Keep up the amazing work you make some of the best video DIY videos on UA-cam.

Just bought a 2002 K1200LT with a "no crank" condition. Even though it's older than the 2005 in this video, it had the more modern connectors (NOT the ones shown in the picture near the end of this video). There had been a mouse nest/chewed wires in the space where the alarm resides. Repaired the wires; no joy. Did this bypass; no joy, but the turn signals are funky now. I'm stumped.

Kirk, I have this exact same scenario. I just purchased my 2002 and have NO history.... What I am thinking is the alarm died on the previous owner and he went back to BMW... and the verison of the 2002 alarm is NOT available and BMW did some hack to make the current version of the alarm work....

On my 2004, it appears that the large connector is opposite of what this 2005 has. The alarm end (male) plug has the pink in it. The female is from the bike’s system,. The white plug is attached to the alarm’s mount at the rear of the assembly and is also the female. Not confident in how to proceed.
