    Maxx Power Tri Flow Radiators are designed to eliminate your overheating issues. Temperature reductions of up to 24F over your current temp are not uncommon. Independent lab tests with LS motors have shown 20F drop in temp over conventional aluminum radiators and even more over OE copper/brass. Do not suffer through another season watching the temp gauge or avoiding traffic lights. Drive where and when you want without fear of overheating or engine damage. It was developed with 2 rows and a 1 inch oval tube core and a unique coolant patch that routes the coolant through the radiator core 3 times and increases turbulent flow while passing the coolant in front of the fan 3 times. Traditional radiators only pass the coolant 1 time in the front of the fan. This is what make the Maxx Power Tri flow Radiator the best on the market. The universal design with mount tabs welded to each tank and a traditional upper 1.5 inch inlet installed on the driver side and lower 1.75 inch outlet intake on the passenger side make this ideal for muscle cars, street rods, pro touring, etc. It also has 1/4 inch NPT welded bungs with SS plugs, one located in the bottom driver side tanks for a drain and the other under the radiator cap frame for a LS steam port or temp sensor for electric fan controller. Fully Tig welded 6061 aluminum tanks and core assure long life and leak free seams. Tri flow design will eliminate overheating without the need to change water pumps, pulley ratios etc. Don't be afraid to turn up the timing and eliminate that constant temp gauge fear!

    when doing this Ive found that only gong one way works best. make a pass but don't pull back. only push then raise your hand up and push again. when I pulled back (like in the video)it was way harder to get the lines perfectly straight. also can use a rubber or foam block with the sand paper on it. looks perfectly uniform doing it this way.

    Man that looks great, I made an aluminum front fender for my motorcycle that I built and didn’t want to paint it because the aluminum looks so good but brush look is even better, thanks for the video

    What does the wd40 do in this process? I have used just the pads and that has worked as well.

    This was well done! I want to try this on an aluminum wheel. I looks like the key will be keeping a consistent grain. Any tips for someone doing a wheel?

    Anything else that could be applied to keep it that way longer, as some water splatters oxidize aluminum over time

    What I do is I start with an air file at 180 grit. It eliminates the mill finish and starts the brushed look. When thats done, the brushing will look uneven. Next step is with 320 grit on a soft foam pad to start blending everything together. By then, much if not all the brushing will look even. But then I finish the appearance with either 180 or 80 grit, also on a foam pad, depending on the depth thats being looked for.
    Theres a handful of ways to do it. Not saying my way is the best, at all. Just showing another option

    So basically your taking the shine or mirror look away for a dull finish?

    Would a sanding block help, hurt, have no effect at all? Also is there an easy method to get the engine turned look? I've seen methods where you take a die grinder sanding disc in a drill press.

    • @FoodOnCrack
      @FoodOnCrack 8 років тому

      +therealdeadpen won't hurt, you can make your own with 2 pieces of wood and a few screws to clamp the scotchbrite

      Drill press or any rotary tool will leave circular finish , still cool but different !

    Is there a purpose for the WD-40 other than for a lubricant?
    I've tried this but I find my result was a little too shiny. Can you recommend a way to oxidize the surface a little bit to create a more dull finish? Any advice appreciated.

    • @JonnyD3ath
      @JonnyD3ath 6 років тому +3

      Marcoosianism probably try using sandpaper first, 240grit or higher, try on a test piece first!

    The problem with this is that is doesn't look good. There's a fine line between brushed look that looks nice and one that looks like a damaged piece of metal. Scratches need to be completely parallel and perfectly even over the entire surface. YOu can't do that with scotch brite, you always get uneven pressure, denser or less dense scratch areas and not perfectly parallel lines.

    • @Alaric25
      @Alaric25 5 років тому +6

      BeyerT1 Problem is he was moving back and forth instead of only going in one direction, he did not use any kind of edge guide to keep the strokes parallel, and he used his bare palm to apply pressure instead of using a block to apply even pressure. When you make yhe changes I mentioned, the end result is *much* better

    WD-40 is not a lubricant. It is a water displacer; that is what the W and D stand for in the name. The 40 is for formula #40. It was originally used to prevent ice from affixing itself to the rocket body of early rockets. The cryogenic fuel and oxidizer in the fuel tanks would cause massive ice build up on the rocket that needed to be prevented. Enough build up would threaten the structural integrity of the rocket.
