Fortnite honestly has probably the most interesting development journey of any game. Nobody could’ve anticipated back when it started development that it would go from a sort of survival horror shooter, to a battle royale game, to an entire platform for games, akin to Roblox. Not to mention the fact that it would permanently change the gaming industry and become the world’s most popular game for a time.
I believe they were the ones to start the loot crate craze I've seen in a handful of games and game updates that never happened before. Granted some of them already existed before Fortnite, but this game just made it even more popular. One of the worst things to happen to gaming.
Save the world hasn't died. It regularly has around 20k players. It's just very community driven to the lack of updates. It seems like epic is intentionally pushing down and making people forget about the mode, which is sad.

Fortnite back in its early days kinda makes me sad? Like, the lighting system and general painted cartoony look it had were all just lost from chapter 2 onward. It was such an integral style / look the game had and was a big appeal for me, this big dark cartoon-esque world. You can see it on all the different painted textures, especially on stuff like the old scar/siegebreaker. The fact they basically up and abandoned that look so swiftly just kinda makes me sad, I'd even love the old lighting system / fog in Chapter 6 because gameplay-wise I think BR is great right now. Just that it's more or less abandoning its roots.
Yeah I loved the old graphics the game would run smoothly but now it’s constantly having hitching and frame loss on pc and epic are doing nothing about it
i would probably start playing fortnite again if they re-released the original seasons completely separate from the base game, so they could have it run on the unreal engine 2017 fortnite was running on at the time. imagine how groundbreaking it would be if they brought back an original 2017-2018 build or something like that
