  • For a long time I worried about finding my style as an artist. But when I finally thought I'd found my creative voice, I realised it wasn't a fixed thing. My interests changed, I grew bored and now my style is evolving again.
In this video I share some of my older artwork, in a range of styles, and talk about my journey as an artist.

What kind of paper did you use for your drawings? Did you practice with watercolor first, then try procreate? I'm still trying to find my art style, any advice?

Hi, yes I've been working in watercolours as a full time artist for several years. I don't really stick to one particular type or brand of paper but I do like Daler Rowney's Langton range for watercolours and their Fine Grain for drawing in graphite. I think finding your style, takes time. At first you just want experiment and play around with different materials, with absolutely no pressure. Pick up a cheap sketchbook that you don't feel too precious about and just doodle. You'll start to see patterns in what you enjoy and what you naturally gravitate towards. I'm planning to talk through some tips on finding your own style in a video soon.
