Amazing to see MK at this level so young. Though, what is she supposed to do with her foot the would make Flemming happy? I feel like she was scored low because of her age.

That WAS a funny comment from Peggy, "...leg hanging there..." 🤣 But, to answer the question, the lower leg---calf and foot---are supposed to be parallel to the ice.

Look at how amazingly fluid Michelle was at aged 7 in that fluff piece? I think you can tell at an early age which kids have potential by their speed and the fluidity of their movements with little stiffness or apprehension in their skating.

I remember first seeing Michelle that year. I was amazed how young and her skating skills were very good. I like that she was so unassuming and she was being herself. The commentators were saying she is known for her jumping skills. She did just that. At the 98 Olympics it was ironic that her artistry overshadowed her technical and here comes 15 yr old TL jumped her way for a gold medal. I loved how she responded for getting the silver. After that I loved Michelle even more for her classy and gracious character.

Tara's flip and lutz would be called out for under rotation today.
Tara's triples were cheap. Tiny, rushed jumps.
Under the new system, Tara's technique wouldn't get marks.
      Michelle was robbed.

Mrs. OlLady She had good taste. I take it you were never at rinkside to see Tonya nearly jump as high as the barrier or execute one of her perfect spins. Michelle, Tonya, and Nicole are 3 of 4 of my favorite skaters of all time. The only one missing here is Jill Trenary. You need to let that hate go. Do you remember at the 94 Olympics when Oksana B. Won gold and Kerrigan was talking to Chen Lui of China who won bronz to Kerrigan's silver and complained that "I don't know why she's fixing her make up. She is going to cry it all off anyway!" If nothing had happened Kerrigan would still have been the same spoiled poor sport she always was. That doesn't justify what happened. Just do not pretend you know everything that went on.

Buffy Slays yes I grew up skating in the early 2000s and was conditioned to hate Tonya in the skating world. Now looking back and after watching I Tonya I discovered what an incredible talent she is...now my personal skate idol, one of the best!!!

My mom and I watched I Tonya just a couple of weeks ago, and I still feel very confused about everything. I'm not really sure if it really was her fault or not. Even though she didn't do it to her, but I'm still not sure if she knew that it was gonna happen to her. I don't know. In that one scene where her mom made it look like she actually cared about her just to get her to confess that she did it I was really confused. So did she REALLY know that that was going to happen? Did she REALLY plan the attack? I'm still very confused about it.

kkstar 12 In my heart I hope she didn’t know as much as it seemed she did. I I still wish she wasn’t permanently banned from skating/coaching though. Nancy’s injury wasn’t permanent, at least physically. But I guess Tonya will take the truth to her grave
