As a Anime Only, I really like this type of readings that serves as either appetizers or a desert after the main course of watching Mushoku Tensei adding towards the overall experience and getting a better picture of the fleshed out world that is often skipped.
It would be far better if they just didn’t skip it, because the vast majority of anime only viewers will never see this video and not know about this chapter.
@InfamyOrDeath-__- I see it as an eventuality because it's time-consuming and costly to produce anime. What really matters is that anime gets the story across, like how it was in the source material as close as possible without sacrificing too much of it so that the general essence of the story is conveyed.
I've been checking out the manga and listening to videos like these, along with watching the anime, so I'm getting the extra details and makes me really appreciate the story more.
To be fair it is 100% possible that they include this scene around later episodes to stack the emotional highs/lows this season should still bring. If I were a screenwriter that is 100% what I would do for an adaptation, so this video might be risky. But time will tell
Excellent editing on this one, sempai 👍🏾💕 Cliff reminds me of my friend, Chris: just because somebody's got an off-putting personality at first, doesn't mean they're not worth getting to know 😅!
Thought Cliff was kind of a stuck up a-hole but I like this aspect of him. Im not religious myself but I like that he goes out of his way to help a fellow faithfull here. He dident need to. She dident even know he was there. But he did so anyway and with such a personal angle as well.
Having read the light novels I still do enjoy watching these videos very much. On another note, the more and more of anime we get the less I like the amount of stuff they skip. And it seems that the amount keeps getting bigger and bigger :/ When the first part of the first season was airing I considered this anime to be an almost perfect adaptation. Now, a lot less so. (Still peak and one of my all time favorites :D)
But he really is one. Look at his anti-curse research, his help with magic circles and Nanahoshi's research, automaton doll research, Zaliff Prosthetic development. He has an ego but backs it up.
Norn at this point can best help her brother by helping out Sylphie when he can. Particularly after Sylphie gives birth to her child and Norn can give Sylphie a break from taking care of her child so she can rest a bit. I do love how Cliff really helps out Norn deals with her issue and is probably a start of a beautiful friendship. 😊
Yes, that worry was exactly what kept her locked up in her room. Same happened to Rudy pre-truck-kun. I struggle with that kind of thinking myself, about past cringe moments, about things I should have or shouldn't have said to loved ones, etc. It's like a little goblin in my skull gnawing at the hamstrings of my mind.
I've been holding my tongue because I knew that this tirade would fall on deaf ears either way. I'm quite frankly disgusted by content creators who "delves" into the deepest psychological tautological and philosophical depths of these narratives, but somehow seem to not give a second thought to their own ridiculous level of bias. This is maybe the third time I've witnessed someone talk about Norn and in that course anthologize a disturbing soury sweet pedestalizing of her weakness. I'd be dreadfully Disappointed if the story went the direction of praising weakness rather than broadening the scope of "strength". It's always disappointing to realize that intelligence and depth of thought somehow never beats out plain stupidity. It hides in the depths of even the most brilliant minds and seems to plague all things in this world, so I can't say that I am surprised. However, if we reflect on every phenome orifice and placation of this analysis, we see an implicit bias against those who are deemed to be traditionally "strong" It's an ideology that laughs in the face of physics as if we weren't all born from the same two cells. It dismisses the work of others and it turns those on the other side of its coin into robotic monstrosities that have the choice either of slavishly serving the "weak" or in absence of that service being a dominating evil. Ironically enough, this taken from a story centered around a man who was weak and the worst of men who now occupies the life of an immeasurably talented outlier of mythic proportion. We, unlike real life get to see his most intimate thoughts. We witness the very kernel of his weakness grow and shrink in ebbs and flows like the cancer it is. There are times coming that will be far harder than anything we've seen in. Maybe the last 300 years it will be a unique form of anarchy, civilization without the civilized. I can't help but imagine people who hold out this ideology and their failure just simply based off of their own unexamined beliefs. I've always said if mankind lives or dies they deserve it but I won't deny considering the beauty here both in our creation of it and our witnessing. It is a sad prospect that we are heavenly leaning toward what we deserve.
@DB-Barrelmaker I might have tried if you were speaking some plain English. You're pontificating with this huge paragraph that doesn't seem to say much that is decipherable. But you're probably thinking of calling me ignorant for being "incapable" of understanding all that. That's fine. It's not that your words fall on deaf ears. They're ignoring you because you're acting insufferable.
@@XspeedPL I feel like the parts where he interject and summarizes are the best ones.. If he could do the whole video I that format and not read the novel I feel it would be better
Each to their own I guess, I am grateful for not having to look up skipped novel content by myself. The novel writing is excellent, by "summarizing" you're effectively just skipping content again. Comments and added context are extras on top for me, albeit also very valuable and welcome
Yeah I like it exactly how he does it. I’d rather hear the words from the novel and then hear his comments. Paraphrasing rarely does the source justice.

The parable about “doing what you can during the day, and then praying at night” but in familiar terms: Millis helps those who help themselves

Unfortunately there's not really enough time unless they speed run the chapter.. which considering season 2 I guess would be possible
They tend to focus on Rudeus' perspective almost exclusively so doubt something like this will be shown.
Loving this content! I’m excited for the next one
Loved this chapter, Cliff is best bro.

Norn is one of my favorite characters.
Another great video, some say they like more commentary of your own, I would have to agree, but I also like when you read us more of the light novel
As always great stuff

Cliff is such a bro. 🥲
Oh, sweet. I love these videos. There are too many chapters I simply will probably just not get around to reading myself.

If Cliff & Alanolies got married before She & Rudiuos left, Them that makes him Grampa cliff to the whole brach of Greyrat family living in towne.

I actually learned alot on how to apply my own Christianity thanks to this explanation. Lol so weird but fun!
Norn is such a good character
Interesting chapter. Huh
Every time "I hear" Cliff saying he is a genius I got the urge to punch the screen.
well, he is a genius after all

How much anime only here?

If you dont want paraphrasing just go read the novel, or listen to the audiobook 🤣
