Rudy being already married may also play part why Rudeus is pretty much clueless or numb to signs of affection. Add to the part that Rudeus basically worships Roxy like a literal Goddess. Any notion of "love" for Roxy at least for Rudy might be more akin to X person loves God type of thing
Yeah. I figured it doesn't register because having multiple wives isn't really a thing in our world and it probably hasn't crossed his mind.
In reading the light novels I never figured out what Paul wanted to talk about. Thanks to this episode I finally know. "Boy, she lurves u! Get yourself wife #2!"
Rudy guesses it at the end of LN12, though. Even if you believed it was something else that was the only hints we had.

9:06 actually on the Drama CD, it is clear that what happens (at least on the drama CD) is that Rudy, examining the wall, notices that the all was magically made, so chances are that Roxy was hiding herself on that direction and made a Stone fortress spell to block that path. Since on the Drama CD was like this clearly, chances are that this might be the case on the LN as well... but of course, non confirmed.
This wasn't mentioned in the LN, but Rudy did say he felt Roxy's presence which with this info we can consider as Roxy's magic. Or maybe the presence of magic in general and since they're the only ones attempting the dungeon makes it pretty likely to be Roxy's.

During that moment Roxy was fighting and using large scale spells, i think he just felt her magic spreading through the third floor. Rudy's connection to magic is far greater than other characters in the story, perhaps he can sense it even if he doesn't know it himself.

LOL the dual swords comment was so good, that's great that it's the anime taking creative liberty.
Also your comment on "the labyrinth merging into the ruins" is totally not how I interpreted that, I attribute it to a common design element/habit of the creator of these teleportation things. Nanahoshi mentioned some person who's a magic-circle-genius, so I imagine if the labyrinth's similar to the stuff orsted uses, it must be one person creating both places/circles.

I can’t choose between them, I find it so hard, Eris was always my favourite, but what happens later really bumped Sylphie up there, and I like Roxy too, but each one is so different that it’s impossible for me to pick between them.

I can't help but feel like I'm melting inside seeing Roxy's reactions and interactions this episode. Maybe some of you young inexperienced people don't get it but when you know someone's feelings and intentions are genuine it's a heart warming thing to encounter. Especially in todays world where it's not as common as it used to because of how little responsibility and accountability interpersonal relationships have. We used to put more effort because people you cared about would hold you in check for the way you conducted yourself. But now, most of the time nobody knows but you, so you can just delete people and treat them as you will because nobody is there to hold you accountable for your actions.
I suppose as a side note, Sylph, Roxy, and Eris all do this. Almost like it's a fantasy (haha). However, to relate to what I previously mentioned, it's based on a different time period where things like being held accountable for how you interact with people is very different. Think 19th century and prior. The only reason today we can do anything different is because technology allows for a growing minority to sleep, eat, and pleasure seek without providing any value to society or the people around them. Come at me 💩

I would also like to add that social media and dating app has make this worse by making people have high expectation of what they should have without seeing the effort behind those expectations. Of course, this is coming from a pretty jaded early 20s guy so my opinion is gonna be pretty naive at times
Only advise I can give to any of the young guys is you better off dating a girl you think is an 8 that really loves you than going after a 10. I promise you will be happier in the long run
@@iqhmalRedux That sounds pretty accurate. I Graduated in 2006, so I experienced dating back before dating apps but also when they were new on the scene. I promise you that despite becoming more physically and economically viable the game has only gotten exponentially more difficult. There's absolutely issues women struggle with but in todays world issues with dating between men and women are based on a singular principle. For men it's what have you done to better yourself for her and for women it's what have you done to make his life less difficult.
But we play these additional games that makes it harder for everyone. It's simple really. Before the middle of the 20th century, women understood that men would play the game men would for access to sex. But since roughly 1965-1970 more women have allowed men access to sex without waiting for commitment. It's gotten so bad that men realize if one won't give it the next will. Until women require men to commit before giving sex, the degeneracy will continue.

I suspected that they'd show SOMETHING from the Roxy chapters. Only because the pacing of the anime without anything was like < 10 minutes between "Roxy has been trapped in the labyrinth for a month" and Roxy on the brink of losing to an endless swarm of enemies. If it didn't create the impression that she was actively fighting for a month straight, it at least created a sense that there was some very important context missing.

I took the rudeus being clueless thing as he's too busy seeing roxy as his master that he's always looked up to and after finally seeing her again is happy. But i also see it as roxy not wanting rudeus to just look at her as his master, possibly someone he doesn't think he is worthy of, but roxy wants him to see her as someone that can be something other than his precious master. Even though she doesn't know about sylphie yet, that aside. Thats just how i interpreted it.
What makes it funny is he asked her to marry him when he was like 3. lol

I've watched a tone of your videos mushoku Mondays is always fun. im liking the direction they are going, because no lie the entire Roxy arc rubbed me wrong so its good to see them laying some ground work.
9:00 There's a CD drama covering the labyrinth arc, it explains why Rudy knew to blow up the wall, it had to do with how the walls he broke had a different color/texture than the others, he figured out it was man made/ monster made, and theorised it must be hiding a part of the 3rd floor, a part Roxy might be in since they searched almost the whole 3rd floor without running into her, or finding her remains.

I dident see Rudy beeing a clueless protag so much but rather a pupil who is reunited with his master after a very long period of time. He also pretty much worships the ground she walks on so wouldnt expect her to be into him.
During the episode Rudy behaving like he did towards Roxy feld a lot like Zenoba behaving towards Rudy.

Rudy is still to become 'a grown man', he will develop further and truly become that. He has been always childish, even after marrying Sylphy he was still acting immature like how scared he was about Norn. Fearing his own past and thinking Norn would become like him etc. Anime showed it a bit but still it wasn't as clear as LN where there is a whole chapter Rudy getting nervous like a lunatic. Ofc seeing Roxy after a decade affected him negatively without any question, him puking from getting too excited is another sign. And he is completely blind to her cute moves which is actually good for Roxy i think, if he realized it he was going to scare her away lol..

Roxy was so adorable this episode, I am glad we get her back in the story and not just as a small side character. I kind of like how Rudy holds her in such high regard he doesn't even lewd her like he used to. Also will say that Paul has realy grown on my as a character, he feels very human and not just a character.

I love the "Paul has two swords" bit. I also loved the family banter between Paul, Lilia, and Rudy last episode. But they also really give the impression that Paul considers Lilia as much his wife as Zenith, which isn't quite accurate, and also makes it somehow even less forgivable that Lilia abused Aisha the way she did. So I'm not sure if this was a good change or not.
