I always use rinseless during winter here in Denver. My garage doesn’t have air conditioner. So rinseless saves me and my car. Thanks Yvan for introducing me to rinseless.
The gold standard polishing system, along with the lake country pad washer has changed my quality and speed for the better. Also Yvan’s decon method has improved my efficiency. I’m a 58 year old detailer that learns every day. My first car had an 8 track player, now my new car won’t work with out my iPhone. Change with the technology. Also finishing with the rotary is a gloss monster method. I would drive from Oklahoma to Omaha for a training session.

Hi guys I watch your videos over and over, my method spray rinsless followed by suds pressure wash off, re apply suds and hand wash using your legacy sponge followed by ceramic spray rinse off and towel dry and she gleams makes you proud to drive, so thanks guys and keep the videos coming 😊👍
I purchased a 2005 car that had NEVER been detailed. Used your soaps, iron remover, decontamination towel rinsed and water just sat flat on paint. Rinsed then used water spot remover and all of a sudden beading was back! Incredible, have purchased your complete line. THANK YOU!!!!!!! Where do you get the roll around carts you do wheels with?
Your guy's products, along with the education on how to use ALL your products, have been a game changer for me. My 2022 4Runner and my wife's 2017 Rav4 look fabulous. Hi guys, I'm from Australia and the current weather is extremely hot and humid. I tried your 3 year coating for the first time at my shop. Gloss and slickness were amazing. Only issue I had was streaking when doing the second wipe. It was so difficult to remove the streaking.
The DIY Detail podcast has greatly improved my detailing experience. It makes it more efficient and fun for me. Keep up the good work! One thing I’m also struggling with is the washing of microfiber towels and how to prevent cross contamination. Do you have any tips regarding this? Last time I dumped all my towels in a bucket of rinsless and then threw them all in the machine with a dedicated liquid. Is this preventing cross contamination from the coatings etc?
thanks for the tutorials. got me a lil palm sander Thursday, ordered some gold standard & a yellow pad and waiting for a warmer day to try my first polish
Great video! I recommend everyone listen to these techniques! They all work! I’ve tried everything except for the App (yet!) and I’m confident it will be amazing when I try it in 2025!
So I just recently polished my car with your orbital sander technique along with the Gold Standard pad and Polish. Fantastic results! So if I’m understanding this correctly, if I were to use App I would do this step after using the Gold Standard polish and then ceramic coating?
Love all these techniques, mostly APP! I haven’t mastered the wash/clay/seal technique by myself because I work mostly outdoors. If I could wash in my garage I would love it, or if I had someone come right behind me and dry it would work. I just can’t get the ceramic gloss off quick enough as it cures and I’m afraid of that.
Nice video. 😁 True with the iron remover - I tried spray, leave few min. and rinse off. Then i reapplied the iron remover and there were still red coming off. Then, the next panel I tried iron remover with psd towel... Different story - no "red coming off" after second reapply test to see.
Yvan with Pores open from the APP could one(meaning me) use a Ceramic Spray wax or a Liquid Sealant or a Ceramic Paste Wax at that point. Is this detrimental or counterintuitive to use these on top of the APP product? Sylvie please give your input as well🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😔
If you can get someone to check your work for the first panel, the rest you can do with your eyes closed. As long as you use your leveling towel over the whole surface, you won’t Leave high spots. If you do good work with a wax, you will be excellent with a coating.
I love the iron remover and towel!! I will always love the look on my colleague face even he used 16oz on one side of a car and I used 5 sprays and was done in 10 min vs 45 on other side!! 😆 can u use the app with other coatings
Ivan, what made you & Silvie move from La Belle Province to the US of A? Was it time to explore new horizons or did you reach the end of what you could accomplish in Quebec? I use your products & I’m very happy with how they work & are priced. All the best from the province to the west in London, Ontario👍😀
Everyone always tells me the way to use iron remover is spray it everywhere and I never listen I do it ur guys way save money and it does an amazing job and as for the APP I love it I will never use a panel prep again
Great discussion about the water spot remover and how it was an evolution/improvement on the old standby MDR. Yvan I believe you used to recommend a concoction of ONR and MDR that could be sprayed on as a pretreatment for a wash in the middle of winter. Is there an equivalent mixture that could be made with DIY WSR and rinseless? I would like to quickly keep the salt from building up too much without having to use a hose/pressure washer.
The two bucket method was obsolete eighteen years ago when final inspection australia created the zero bucket method without snow foam or with. I went zero bucket in 2014. But im rinseless nostly today my preference is applying rinseless then pressure rinsing. Snow foam was designed i feel mostly to sell more soap but its great for muddy and gritty cars i admit. Yvan i must admit that i didnt use a clay towel with any iron remover because of two things - i thought the iron remover and clay towel would marr the finish as its pushing metallic contaminants across the paint with poor lubrication from the product but your system has fixed those issues 2. Most iron removers and clay towels were not compatible and the chemical would turn a clay towel or mitt to looking and feeling like melted licorice. Thanks for APP as ive always hated prep sprays with coatings since 2008
Trim Restore and Protect. Can you use it on those hard black rubber trim pieces around windows? I imagine, it’s very similar to the hard rubber on old bumpers.
One more question - I'd like to do a decon before polishing but in wintertime I'm limited to my garage which has no water hose. Is it sufficient to rinseless wash, then use decon towel together with rinseless, prior to polishing? Or should I wait till warmer months, and then wash > decon towel w/ iron remover > rinse > water spot remover > rinse, *then* polish? I'm a newbie - just not sure if I'm overthinking - thanks.
Great video overall guys. Random thought below. Is the creeper seat you guys use for polishing down low on cars purchasable somewhere? If it's DIY, do you have a video on how to make it? If not, when can we expect one? The cart video was great, only seems fitting to have one for the creeper as well.
Can I ask. I want to try polishing for the first time with the hand sander method. The infamous “test spot”. Is that to ascertain how many passes will give you the desired gloss or correction. I understand there are variables. I’ll be on the yellow waffle and gold standard.
The Friday podcasts also go on audio only platforms, we have hundreds of hands on videos. Is there a technique in particular you would like to see, I can give you the appropriate link.
Love the videos..... just bought the DIY DETAIL rinseless wash to test it out, especially on interior. Also, is there an ETA on water spot remover coming back in stock?
I tried pairing iron remover with a synthetic clay towel and it melted the towel. Do you have any suggestions to avoid this, or just stick with DIY products?
APP sounds really interesting. If you're doing an enhancement before the coating do you just wipe the polish off, use APP and that's it? Or does this only work directly after a decon?
I'm planning to wash / clay / seal. I've got the DIY Detail Rinseless v2 and Decon Towel - but no Ceramic Gloss (yet). Can I subtitute what I have handy at the moment, which is Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax?
I got into detailing my car during COVID lockdowns. Nothing better to do, so I learnt how to polish and care for my car. Applied my first 3 year ceramic coating and just love how good it still looks. I started noticing Yvan's great tips whilst watching other car detailing channels and quickly realised he was someone to follow. Amazing knowledge with a no nonsense approach. I've started to only use DIY products because of how effective and efficient they are. I'm a middle aged lady who has lots of other things I want to be doing with my time. So I'll always be checking to see what Yvan and Nick recommend rather than others who seem to just collect gear. More is not more! Best wishes from Australia 🦘
@@diydetailofficial yeah I know that but what I mean is have the equivalent of app but have it baked into the ceramic coating like pan’s coating has, was wondering if you have that if you could get rid of the needing to use app or a panel prep at all?

DIY has fallen victim to making "game changer" claims. UA-camrs are puking up that cliche so much, that it has become meaningless. Remember when every title had "Amazing" in all caps and repeated to describe the most basic of things? They've moved on to "game changer". I've see 12 videos today claiming "game changer". A year ago, there were none.
In this case the techniques and procedures didn’t exist before I developed then, in effect changing the way Detailing is done. I agree it is overused for things that simply affect the game.
