  • This is a short video about our new dyneema handrails with reflecting cover. There are many ways to install them, many versions of splicing the dyneema core ... this is how I did it.
The brand of the rope .... will publish it soon (need to find out first)

Wonderful, I've not seen that method of splicing you have solved the puzzle of how to make up life lines.
Love the idea of a reflective cover.

You really need to bury a bit more of the tail inside the mainline and also taper it by pulling threads over a distance otherwise the weak point is where it suddenly goes from fat to thin. There are videos that tell you how much tell you bury depending upon the thickness of the dyneema.

Did you put anything extra on it where it passes through your stanchions to reduce chafe there?

No as it does not move inside the stantions. And the little movements when someone holds on to it can be neglected imho :-)

You’ve taken the protective cover off the core, which now is susceptible to sun damage

Hi Sea Eagle, The cover is only off at the ends. When I did the video I did not know how to include the cover in the end pieces, especially space wise. So far the Dyneema ends have not desintegrated ... the next version will then be pimped, promised :-)
