I'm sold: paying $30 per professional eye is far less expensive than the time, effort, and doubt I'd experience trying to do it myself. Thank you for this presentation !
Eric - great video - I've used your info for Tachyon splices for years on climbing lines (love Tachyon with the ZigZag) and lanyards and had great results (rope worn out before splices). Thanks again for putting it back up. Have lots more tools (Brion wands etc) now than the old days but the methodology stands the test of time. Stay safe out there.
@@ericforsman7787Would it be possible to have spliced eyes on a prusik cord or would the taper intrude into the hitch area and cause it to not function properly?
@@lililililililili8667 Yes, depending on the type of prusik cord you can use either a double-braid splice or a Brummel splice to make prusik cords. I have a couple of videos on youtube showing how to do this.
You are correct. A splice typically reduces the rated strength of a rope by 10-20%. But that is better than a knot, which reduces the strength of the rope even more.

A great example of how to splice! Accurate clear and concise, Thank you!
Your splicing videos are outstanding! Thank you for all the work you put into them and thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you!

Thanks Eric! Excellent👍
Thanks Phil. I decided to re-post the video after doing a bunch of edits to the old version.
Magic 🪄🤯 thanks for sharing!
Excelente por la republicación. Este es el mejor video de splice en tachyon rope de la red. Gracias.
De nada. Gracias mi amigo!
Excellente démonstration
Why this method instead of the spLife?
For one thing it is stronger than the spLIFE method.

เสืยดายแปลไม่ออก..อดใด้ความรู้เลยครับ..
The eye will not have the full strength as the rope.
