Honda GB350s review: 10,000km Later - The Good & The Bad
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- I've clocked in 7 months and 10,000km on my Honda GB350s, and I'm here to spill all the beans on this retro beast. In this video, we'll dive into what makes this bike the cream of the crop in the retro scene, but we won't sugarcoat it; we'll talk about where it needs some tuning up. We'll check how it handles when you're cruising on the expressway, see if it can get your heart racing from 0 to 100km/h, and I'll share my raw, unfiltered experience of owning and riding this modern-day classic. If you're on the fence about this bike or just love a good gearhead chat, hop on for the ride.

Man you got me, I ordered one just right now.
They told me here in Poland that I will recive it in April.
@@malakandar haha that is awesome! Such a long wait, won’t be easy, but it is a lot of fun and winter must be brutal there anyway. Perfect spring gift to yourself! Thanks for watching🙏😊 more vids to come.

Hello from Germany ! I expect getting my blue one in the second week of january 😇 So not long to go to make my own experiences. Can't wait and let's hope the wheather will be fine to do the first tour 🤘Happy new year to All viewers, stay safe riding your bikes 😎
Came for the bike review. Stayed for the production quality and thoughtfulness. I loved what you said about how you know you love a bike. My ride of choice right now is the Kawasaki W800, and I love it the way you love this bike, but man do I love what you have to say about this bike. You nailed it.
Thank you 🙏😊 I did look at a W800, seriously beautiful bike and my wife is a die hard Kawasaki girl. In the end we book-shelved it as a second bike option as the GB just grabbed new with that long stroke single thump. Thanks for watching and joining the journey 😎 Much more to come 🙏

I assumed your channel was much bigger. Love your production quality and especially the intro to the review about what a bike means to you. Hope to see more

Very, very good video and review. You're sensible and comprehensive, and you don't leave the joy and the emotions on the floor. Good for you. It's a pleasant video to watch, almost poetic, yeah, poetic I'd say, and now I'm really thinking about this bike. I won't be able to buy it in the States but I will need a smaller bike in Europe. I think this sweet puppy will be perfect and economical too. Ride safe!
Thank you 😊 what an amazing comment, truly appreciated 🙏 it would be a great bike for b-roads in Europe and those smaller streets. I have heard rumors they copyrighted the name “GB500” so wouldn’t be a surprise if that showed up in the States soon. Thanks for watching🙏😊 have a 6day roadtrip video about to release in less then 2hrs also if you are interested and have an hour to spare 😉
@RideThruJapan yes, Adam is your name, right? I started watching it during my lunch break but I'll wait for my wife who lived in Japan for two years and is almost fluent in Japanese to finish watching it. Can I say without seeming weird that one thing that cracked me up when I started watching your GB350S review was that I thought: "Gee this gentleman looks just like me! He feels like I do about this romantic really side of motorcycling. He rides a bike I totally dig and he wears the kind of gear I do! Hahahaha! We might be estranged road brothers hahahaha! Anyways you make beautiful motorcycle videos (too! I make bike videos too part of our Respectful Revolution channel that's not purely motorcycle at all) and I look forward to seeing more of your stories. Ride safe my friend.
Great production and good luck with the channel! To me any bike over 200kgs is hevvy. I've been biking since the 1970s and owned more than a couple since then. My ride of choice today is the Kawasaki Z650rs, almost identical in weight to the Honda CB350S but at 67bhp, and featuring more or less the same engine as the Versys 650, it's tried tested and fast enough to get busted on most motorways. However I'm looking for a second bike for winter here in Devon, UK and this Honda looks to fit the bill just about perfectly. So I'm looking forward to taking a CB350S for a test ride soon. If I lived near a beautiful section of coast road like the one you were riding, it could well be all the motorcycle I'd ever need too, and then some.
Thank you 🙏😊 Yeah the Honda is a b road gem for sure. And would make a nice second bike for you from the sounds of things. It has a nice enough pull low down, but what makes me love it is the sound. Just a perfect single long stroke thumper. Plus it is a pretty machine. Hope you like it when you get a chance to test ride it. 😎 Thanks for watching and for sharing your story in an awesome comment 😊🙏 Much more to come 😎
Love ypur passion and commentary. 🎉
Thank you 🙏😊 I have a pretty epic road trip video coming out this week too 😉
Great review Adam. Thanks for this useful video and for sharing your honest thoughts.
I’ve ordered my GB350S in black and it should be here in mid-February. You’re absolutely right in that it’s just a simple bike any experienced rider can enjoy.
It’s just the purity of riding. Being at one with the bike and your surroundings.
Steve 🇬🇧
Stoked I could help and hope you enjoy the ride 😊 now the hard part…the wait! At least it will be starting to head towards warmer weather. Thanks again for watching and supporting the channel…about to head out on a 4 day ride and camp so should have a good video coming soon 😎
Look forward to watching that then 👍
I live in Germany and I own a Honda CB 400 T and customised it. There is no new bike on the market, that i would buy. Then the GB350s came out....and perhaps a GB500 in 2025/2026. New options for riders that don´t want to customise. The Interceptor would fit for me as well, but i swear on Honda quality. If I had to buy a new bike right now, it would be the GB350s. I always ride about 80 km/h, max 100. No highways. Go for a ride, have some coffees or ice cream and go back home. Never in a hurry, always when the weather is fine. What i see on my trips are overpriced, overpowered plastic bikes that look like some kind of kitchen stuff. The custom scene is becoming bigger here. Buy a base, get your hands on + an experienced mechanic and built your own. For half of the price of a new big naked bike you will get your own, customised dream bike. Japanese bikes forever.
I love this comment! 😊😊 Thank you for watching 🙏😊 Always nice to find the sweet spot where it is all about flow! Much more to come 😎Happy riding 🏍️

Thank you 🙏 and thanks for watching😊 Would be great if it does, be perfect to earn a living doing what I love. ❤️
Oh wow I love your style, so chilled and laid back.. I like this bike, it has it's place, I had the royal Enfield hunter but it just struggled top end.. 60mph.. I just wanted a bit more to get past some of the traffic.. I really like this though 🎉 and honda quality ❤
Thank you so much 🙏😊 I agree, I wish they would have squeezed another 5-10hp out of these bikes for the expressways but it is still a B-road gem. It cruises well enough around 60mph but would be nice to have another 10-20mph at the top end. Thanks for watching 🙏 will be releasing a pretty epic road trip video this week, part of a new series across Japan. 🙏😎
I'm going to wait and buy a lightly-used secondhand one. I feel there will be many people who buy into the idea of getting a new one but then find there's just not enough power.
They'll have decked it out with engine bars and heated grips or spotlights hopefully too!
Haha nice plan!
Nice review. You can go into settings and disable the eco light. Instructions are in the owners manual. Did it on mine.

Absolutely agree! Thanks for watching 😊
Hello from the USA. Nice video and nice bike. I subscribed. I'm in my 50's and bought a Honda Monkey in 2020 and when I was ready for something a little bigger, I looked at all of the Honda's in their 300 and 500 range, but didn't like any of them. I ended up getting a Royal Enfield Hunter 350. I like the Hunter 350, but if the GB350S was available in the USA, I probably would have bought one. I hope Honda brings this or a slightly larger version of it here. I heard they trademarked the GB500 name for North America. I hope they keep it an air-cooled single cylinder, though.
A 500 would be perfect! Like you say as long as they keep the single longstroke aircooled engine. The trademark is a good sigh for sure! Thanks for watching 🙏 much more to come 😎
A single cylinder 500cc long stroke air cooled engine could be a blast. Even a twin cylinder would be great. The 350 provides to Honda economies of scale because its huge sales in countries like India. A 500 parallell twin would be too much for several countries and I do not know if Honda could be interested in it.
@@josevi5835yeah different markets for sure. In Japan the license system is -400cc then 400-open so they have a lot of bikes that are 400cc the 400x ADV for example is 500x in other places. But a 500cc single would be a thing of beauty. That said the 350cc is such a balanced bike and it rides great so no complaints.
@@RideThruJapan Planning to own a GB350 when it is available in Spain. I have a XSR900 and a Monkey and there is a big difference in power between them. However both are very entertaining to drive and provide me lot of smiles per kilometer.
@ thatbis awesome…yeah I agree that all bikes have that fun factor. I plan on getting a collection going agin in the next few years. Thanks for watching 🙏😊 more to come 😎
I own, Honda Hness 350 which is an Indian variant, I am not sure how different that bike is when compared to Japanese. But I love the feel of the bike and considering it is the first bike I am owning I think a very good decision to invest money in it.
They are pretty much the same, maybe just a few components and the color options that differ. Such a fun bike isn’t it 😊 it was a smart choice for a first bike for sure, stoked you are loving it 😊 Thanks for watching and sharing your experience 🙏😊 Much more to come 😎

Thank you so much for this wonderful impressions. After two bikeless years, at the age of 66, after having quit drinking, today I shall visit the next Honda-Dealer. In his Showroom: GB 350 RS. I‘m quite shure: I‘ll order one to get in March 2025. My first bike and my only Honda was my lovely CB 125T. After the Honda motorcycling was over until 2002. Then I had fun again with Kawasaki ER5 and ZR 7, then 2x BMW R1100R, an at last a screamy Yamaha FZ6 with 98 nervous horses. For the last 10 years I suffered with wrong peg positions. My right knee has a prothesis inside and demands an open angle. I hope so much that the ergonomics of the GB will harmonize with my old body.
Greetings from Germany, lake Constanze, not far from Austria, Switzerland and marvellous alpine twisties.

hey, I own a CB350RS (that’s the name Honda went with for the Indian market) and I just wanted to point out that you can turn off the eco light actually. You should maybe look it up in the manual but there’s definitely an option to turn it off. I know because i got mine turned off by the dealer right before i left with it

Nice video man, they just released these in the UK recently and I love the idea of it. I recently picked up an imported Cross Cub 110 and it's a joy to ride, wish I could have a chance to ride those beautiful japanese roads, hopefully one day. Nice to see an english speaking japanese biking channel, keep up the good work brother and ride safe :)
Thank you 🙏 I didn’t realize there were so few channels out in Japan in English. Have some big plans for this channel. I appreciate your support. The cross cub is a cool Machine, will be doing a full review of the Hunter cub 125 (Trail 125) in the coming weeks. Super excited to try that bike.
Glad to discover your channel. I love the sound out of those pipes when the bike's moving - very visceral and stocky. Are these factory or aftermarket? What brand? This bike has captured my imagination - it definitely has a nostalgic UJM character.
Thank you, 🙏 I am glad you found it too 😊😊 The bike is all stock, it has so much character as is I don’t think past adding a luggage rack I will make any modifications to it. Prepping to head out on a trip next week that should be pretty awesome, the first prefecture of 47 to ride, explore and film the journey. Thanks for watching 🙏😊 Much more to come 😎
Nice content, thanks for posting. I have a couple of questions: 1) the sound and exhaust note from the engine, is all stock (no aftermarket parts on the exhaust or intake lines)? 2) any signg of rust/corrosion on the metal parts? Some (relatively) cheaper Hondas like the CRF 300L have some rust prone metal parts (e. g. the exhaust collector) and in another UA-cam video I've seen some mild rust presence on a Japanese GB350 S (was a rental bike, around 10k miles on it, most likely not in the best care/maintenance conditions).
Thank you 🙏😊 the bike is 100% stock. That note is sweet right out of the factory 😎 for rust, I haven’t seen any issues on the bike yet, and I live close to the coast. The only issue I had was surface rust on the mirror stalk on one side, which honda replaced. With the price point I wouldn’t be shocked if it does get some rust over time, but yeah A rental is probably just beat up, rinsed and sent out again. I always give mine a good wash after a trip and hit the exposed areas with some silicone spray from time to time.
Thanks for the answer. Out of curiosity, which parts do you put the spray on? Can you share your product of choice?
@@vk8458mostly just on the chromed parts. Since the bike is naked you have to watch for paint chips on the frame etc as they will happen and then rust. So I check the bike often and keep them covered with touch up paint and rust proof sealant. The brands I use are all in Japan but I am sure you can find a similar product.
@@RideThruJapan ok, thanks!
Only things I would change is get a luggage rack. & the exhaust (crome) from the GB350.
Got a luggage rack 😉 just tested it on a 6 day motocamp so will have a review of that soon. Not many options at the moment for the S. Personally prefer the black exhaust myself. Thanks for watching 😊🙏

Royal Enfield makes the Classic and Bullet with the same design for 60 - 70 years... They are not new bikes emulating being old bikes. They are the bikes that Royal Enfield sold in 50's but with the minimum things for homologations requirement nowaday.
Fair point, and I am not knocking them, just personal preference. I honestly don’t really compare bikes, but people asked me a lot about it. When I choose a bike it is almost always on the feeling I get when I see and ride it. The Honda just grabbed me, as does the Indian 101, which is my next goal. Practically speaking an adventure bike would suit some plans I have, but haven’t seen one yet that gives me the fizz. 🧐 Thanks for watching 🙏😊
Nice recorded sound!can I ask what mic did you use?
Thank you 🙏😊 I run a Rode Lav mic through a Zoom H6 recorder. Gotta hide it from the wind under the seat strap etc depending on the day. Thanks for watching 😊🙏 Much more to come 😎
Looks amazing, but the footpegs are too high up ( I am almost 6.4' and can't bend my left knee far enough) and I think after a while I want more power on it. If it had been a twin like the cb450 bb and lower footpegs then I could go for it.
Btw this bike has all the looks of a classic bike. Like the RE it wants to look classic. The tank is super classic, the headlight might be led but def got the dimensions of classic, also the seat is like a flattracker seat 70-80s. The engine is super classic looking and also the exhaust is nothing modern looking about. The things that are modern looking is the back fender, footpegs and wheels. Other then that, this bike is all about classic looks.
It is a pretty bike, the power could use a kick up to around 30hp but it goes well enough on most roads. 6’4” great for meeting a lady but a pain otherwise 😜 My buddy is 6’5 I think and he has a hell of a time with a lot of things. But must be nice on an ADV! Thanks for watching 😊🙏
I have red that its consumption is very great. 15 liter tank is enough for 600 km. Is it true?
I am thinking about to order one (I am in Hungary). I have some experience with Enfield Meteor 350 ( I have 3 another bigger Honda). The Meteor was a winner in 80 % when I went to my garage and took a choice from the bikes. I think the long-stroke single cilynder engine has a special character (90 mm stroke 60 mm bore, whihc is absolutely uniqe today). Take care any enjoy 2025!
Thanks for watching 😊🙏 Yes it easily does 600kms and I don’t take it easy to get that range. i have gotten 700kms when riding mellow. Thanks for watching 🙏😊 Have a great new year! Much more to come 😎

Most people in the uk are going for the triumph speed 400 or the new RE gueurilla 450. 20 hp is not enough for fast uk roads, in case you need that extra punch to get out of trouble.

Bro gb350 or speed 400? Which one is good I am 5'11 ... please help
Tough call, both have great points and weaknesses. I got in a speed 400 yesterday and a 400x beautiful bikes, but they feel thin across the tank compared to the GB. The speed definitely has the performance edge, but character goes to the GB
@@RideThruJapan For me the only thing that matters is the speed level. And in my opinion, the Honda scores points here.
Am I correct that the Triumph does around 5900 rpm at 100 km/h?
The Handa doesn't have a tachometer, but it always sounds significantly slower in the videos.
The speed 400 is a beautiful bike. I just don't like the rear with the huge gap between the tire and the fender and the speed level.
I had a Suzuki DR 800 but even with aftermarket silencer it does not sound so nice like the GB 350
Not sure on all the specs with the triumph, but the GB definitely is a lower rev runner. Torque is best around 3-4K and max HP is at 5500. The triumph has significantly more power to play with though. The rear fender threw me off too on the speed.
@@RideThruJapan Thanks and always a save ried

No need to apologize, we all have our preferences, saw a bear 650 and it was the first RE I really liked…will take a peek at the 350 for sure. Thanks for watching 🙏😊
Between photos enfield hunter is better, but if you see both of them live you 'll change opinion.....honda is bigger and more quality for the price .
Nice looking bike, pity it's not 650cc
Thank you 🙏 plenty of bikes in that category, but I hear rumors of a 500cc version in the works. Thanks for watching 😊🙏
Born in india 🇮🇳 entertaining the world 🌎 nice video i too owns this 🏍 bike
Thank you 🙏 I love how we all connect over our love if riding😊 Thanks for watching, more to come😎
Hp could be more at 25-28hp
I absolutely agree 👍
@RideThruJapan I subscribed you,Domoarigato
Thank you, very appreciated :)
Same royal enfield hunter 350
Thanks for watching 😊🙏 Hunter has less torque, smaller stature, smaller front tire, and less fuel capacity. But similar bikes for sure.
@@RideThruJapan bu motor size yakışıyor
Thank you 🙏 I have ridden a lot of bikes over the years. From Harley’s to dirt bikes. At my age and style the GB is a good match for now. 😉

Bilt Techno 2.0 😎 Thanks for watching 🙏😊

Nice 350cc but Hunter is more beautiful . :)
A bike for every taste, the capitalist dream 😜 Thanks for watching 🙏😊
would ne perfect oif its 250 (no inspections)
Haha not sure if I would like a smaller engine in this. But, i hear ya on the shaken…I guess the Rebel 250 has that market. I would like to see this with a 500cc or more. Thanks for watching. 🙏😊
@@RideThruJapan pity the engine on the cbr250rr (inline 2) isnt made into a street bike/cruiser .Z250 might have to do if i buy and ride in japan
@ there is an older bike called the Magna 250cc full cruiser and a good smooth ride. Has a v-twin. Had one in Okinawa and was a nice ride in that engine size.
💪😃
Watch your language
??🧐🤷
If it only were a 500. Don't need more but I wouldn't feel satisfied with less. Shame.
Thanks for watching 😊🙏 I have heard rumors of a GB500 being in development. Hope they keep the character of the bike if they do. 😎
Really? You've made my day, mate. Gonna keep that in mind. Thanks!
@ just a rumor, but I heard they copyrighted the name GB500 and it would follow suit with the rebel, CL, and CB line
Yeah, did some digging and found the same info. All we can do is hope.

The GB350 sounds like a noisy lawn mower. The RE Classic/Bullet 350 sounds and looks more authentic. The Honda is probably better overall but has a distinct lack of character. A typical Japanese clone...
Sounds like you have some badass lawnmowers in your area 😜 “authentic”, “clone” it’s just a bike dude 😂 luckily there are many bikes for many riders…I love it…keeps the road interesting. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙏😊 Happy riding 🏍️
it sounds like a single cylinder long stroke air cooled classic engine... as it should. A rarity these days
@@AndrasMihalyi I agree, I took one for a test ride yesterday. It sounded great, for me very comfortable and light to move around.
