Keep up the good work - great to see comparisons but suitable weightings should be applied to the test to reflect the diy user. Maybe consider doing a poll for the weighting’s of each criteria.
This channel needs to blow up 100x - the amount of information and content you put out repeatedly is insane! Thank you for helping me along the years as an enthusiast.
I used Bath+ years ago and you do need to double up dilution to get any expected results. Interesting video and a comprehensive review as per normal. I switched to whatever 'decent' normal shampoo was on offer. If I wanted an SiO2 boost I use touchon, autobrite and or polar seal depending on what was cheapest last.
Thanks for this. Loads of effort put in. I said that BH Touch-on was the worst product they did. And it was as a bucket wash. Spray all over car, rinse off and its a decent product. Great easy topper for wheels.
I've used Nanotech Washcoat, Bathe+ and Touch-On in my foamlance, and Touch-On is my favorite of the three. Tiny bit less beading and sheeting than Bathe+, but lasts a bit longer and gives more shine. Washcoat gives the most shine, but is not as good with beading/sheeting.
@@pigeonpoo1823 yeah that stuff works a whole lot better through a snow foam lance. I normally blast it on in a lance a few time till I can see the white suds beading off then I rinse it off
Never used Touch On with a bucket, makes no sense to me, however it makes a very economical spray and rinse sealant. Great for wheels and the paintwork during the winter.
@@ForensicDetailing i googled it when you were going through the cost per wash as i couldn't believe it either as that sounds crazy but on the global website it says on the hand wash instructions 20/1. Only relaying what a read there. Maybe they had just changed it but it would be very unlucky wouldn't it.

yer I think this is because when you wash a car properly first with normal stuff you get a good clean going on so then the ceramic shampoo will work better afterwards. when you rely on these ceramic shampoos to clean and protect I dont think they clean that well. not sure, Im not a massive fan of this format, sepcially in the bucket wash.
You’re correct. I have a ceramic coating plus I use the TW Pure Wash in my foam cannon. I then use the ceramic as my contact soap. Use it like a topper.
I use Gyeon Bathe+ but I agree that the user experience is terrible. Also if I use the recommended dilution it’s way too weak. I administer it also directly to the mitt as I’m washing (only way to get proper effect). So I’m mostly using normal shampoo nowadays followed by a spray and rinse. Feels like I’m getting way better cleaning results and better beading with the spray&rinse.
Thank you for testing these!!! It seems no one else would. I was hoping for better performance but i still might use these in a foam cannon after wash to give me easy fast protection after every wash or every other
I’d be interested to see you put YUM products through there paces. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. Especially the foam+ product which is a foam lance product. Foam on and wash off ceramic sealant. I’d like to see your opinion on it. Unless you’ve already done it and somehow I missed it lol😮😅
As most people will by towel drying their car then I think a ceramic drying aid Is a better option with a protection free soap. I'm happy using the Turtle Wax Pure Wash and then use their Ceramic Wet Wax as a drying aid.
Ceramic wet wax is meh for me. About once a month after my usual contact wash and rinse I come back with TW Ceramic wash rinse that off and use Seal N Shine as a drying aid. The water behaviour after it 'cures' is like a full blown ceramic. It's off label usage for Seal N Shine but it has better water behaviour than Ceramic Wet and lasts longer although I do alternate between washes to use up the bottles I already have. The ceramic wash doesn't have enough lubricity for me to use on a dirty car but same applies to the ArmorAll and Meguiars which are the 3 products I get in my market. TW Ice Wash and Wax appears here occasionally even though I think it's discontinued. I grab that as I can use that for a contact wash and get some protection and it's compatible with Seal N Shine.
John I recently revitalized a pickup truck that had a year old [allegedly] ceramic coating. The truck had NOT been very well maintained at all. I foamed and contact washed it with high ph to get it thoroughly clean. It seemed as though most of the coating was dead. I then did a double wash [per directions] using the Turtle Wax Ceramic Shampoo and followed with their Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax while still wet. Results were astounding. REALLY astounding. Wish i could post a picture! I also use the TW Ceramic Shampoo as occasional maintenance washes on my wifes car with stellar results - using it as part of the Hybrid Solutions system on her car. As far as cost [U.S.] I use 2 gallons water - approx. 8 liters per bucket/contact wash using 6 oz. of shampoo per 2 gallon wash. That gives me 8 washes out of a 48 oz. jug = $1.75 per wash. I find the cost worth it if there is a goal for its use. Shine on you crazy diamonds!🚘
Hi. I applied on my old golf Chemical guys ceramic wax. Now every 1-2 weeks I use BH foam, then Chemical Guys ceramic shampoo (from your video). I just simply squeeze twice to the bucket(I guess easy 50ml for about 10 L or less warm water) and when I rinse I can see white staff going down. It's adding some layer to the car, that's for sure. I'm not to worry how much I use, because sooner I use all sooner I buy new shampoo lol. After dry all panels I use chemical Guys ceramic quick detailer and I'm happy with final effect. btw I think go for Gyeon, BH and carpro in the future. Thanks for all effort to make this video. Tom.
Some other product to possibly add to a future test for those that are interested, so we can see a wider picture of the products available and how they stack up against each other. :- Autobrite - Ceramic shampoo Angelwax - Enigma Shampoo Auto Finesse - Wash N Gloss Liquid Tech Car Care - Ceramic Shampoo Tanks for this review 👍
In the US the armorall is about $15 for 1.5 liters. The pkg calls for 6oz in a foam cannon or about 4-1. At that ratio it produces excellent foam and gives an outstanding hydrophobic effect. Ends up costing approx $1.50 per wash. I only use it occaisionally as it seems to bead water well for a couple of months. I would never use it in a bucket since to get the same effect you would probably need about 10oz in the bucket. To me it's more of an after-wash protection product. Too bad the UK version comes in a tiny bottle and lacks foam cannon instructions.
Great test! I recently bought the BH product to try out. I've used it twice, in a dedicated lance beaker (I have 3 with my AVA cannon) to follow the main wash as the cars were filthy. I was very impressed with the beading and silky smooth feel afterwards. Even got some free RainX effect on the windscreen and was impressed how long it resisted the wiper's attempts to remove it. So, definitely good as a top up. I intend to try it for the wash phase as well for an even quicker wash and protect. I reckon that as long as the car has some sort of base layer, the BH product (and I imagine the Meguiars equivalent) are excellent for a satisfying wash result in limited time (I no longer regard detailing as a hobby!).
Whilst price is a factor, to me it’s the most insignificant one. What I want is a product that performs. Therefore to satisfy my needs, do two rankings, the most important being performance of the product and then include price, if you really think you need to as you place a very high emphasis on scoring on cost.
Not surprised with touch on. I use this on my dads car and i noticed it adds a good amount of gloss on his black paint. That and decent protection and beading. I normally apply it with a snow foam lance and cover the area a few times till it beads
I have used the Turtlewax product in this test. I found it really good for hydrophobics and durability. Lasts a good couple of weeks, but it's just low foam and not enjoyable to use. I just use a regular shampoo now like Autofinesse lather and a decent spray wax.
Interesting to see Armor All score a 1st place finish. I haven't purchased anything by them for decades. Maybe I'll grab a bottle of the wash next time I'm at Walmart...it's only $12 for the 50 oz bottle. There are so many good products in this space. Hard to evaluate all of them. I agree with the comment below, I probably would not place such a high weighting on the price. Many of us will pay more for a superior product. Thanks for the testing, Jon.
Can’t wait for you to test the Carpro fully. ATM I’m using a non ceramic after wash protector (AutoGlym Polar Seal) in a spray gun (not lance) which lasts pretty well tbh and beads up several days after. I find it the best I’ve used and keeps my white paint cleaner for longer.
i love these kind of tests for some one like me who doesn't care about brand, and just cares about the end result and price i have never used ceramic sealants i always use paste wax and i actually have a couple of bottles in my inventory pushed to the back (mainly because i don't know enough about sealants) i may actually give them a go finally and pick up one of them armor all and use it in a clean bucket after washing my car with the 1900:1 shampoo to wash the car.
Great vid, lots to take from it. From a lazy point of view, I was really hoping one would stand out so a simple wash a dry would do the lot in the winter months ie. Clean, shine and protect. Gutted you didn't put them all over your dirt simulator, would have been interesting to see the cleaning power of them all. Think i'll stick with auto wash followed up with demon shine! Thanks again for your efforts and hard work. 👍
I just love Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wash and Wax for ceramic coating maintenance!. You just have to use it correctly!. The appearance of the shampoo doesn't worry me more than that because mine was already like that when bought brand new!!
The CarPro US distributor advises that to use Hydro2 Foam by hand, apply a small amount to a wet mitt and wash a panel. But what’s a small amount? In the US, I found Griots Ceramic Wash and Coat to be the best. Zero suds but they say you sacrifice protection if you add the required chems to produce suds. It does clean well and feels slick but weird without any traditional shampoo behavior. I guess results are what matter and it is the best I’ve tried by far. Still prefer a wash and sealant application after.
the product instructions need to be on the label mate. carpro will no doubt sort it or clarify it in future label revisions. Its not the end of the world but I have to be a bit pedantic and verbatum when I do this. I will review it again later using it in the lance.
@@ForensicDetailing I’m in agreement. Maybe I wasn’t clear. Vague terminology like “small amount” simply doesn’t work. Carpro can do better. Generally, their instructions are clear and concise. Not in this case.
I've got the Maguires- I won it from going to a car show. It's gone lumpy and it's terrible to mix with water. I'm having to mix it up with a small amount of water first before adding 10ltrs of water. I use it on my missus car 😂. Thee best car cleaning product that beads like crazy is a Rinse-less wash by Labocosmetica- Idrosave. 40ml in a 10ltr bucket, pre spray with Idrosave and bucket wash and dry. Leaving extreme blingage and beadage. I cannot recommend enough.! Jon you need to try a few of these newer Rinse-less washes. Hero, Idrosave, DIY Rinse-less version 2 is out in the US, Fenylab are some of the best around ATM. It seems to be the biggest growth in the detailing scene ATM. You should give some thought to testing like this review but with some seriously cool Rinse-less washes
Great and enjoyable video! When I use a ceramic schampo I put 2 or 3 pumps of Gyeon Bathe+ in a 20L bucket together with a high foaming schampo. Works great but I prefer to skip the ceramic schampo and use Gyeon Wet Coat instead which gives way better beading than any ceramic schampo. I buy the Wet Coat Essence and have one bottle with a stronger dilution than the ready to use bottle and one bottle with a weaker dilution. The stronger solution I use a few times a year and then just maintain it with the weaker solution, keeping the cost down significantly to buying the ready to use bottles and get the same/better results.
I have tried the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash and Wax it works very well but my main complaint is, and it states this on the back of the bottle, not recommended for a foam sprayer. My favorite car wash so far is the Armor All EXTREME SHIELD +CERAMIC Car Wash. It's inexpensive, works in a foam cannon, crazy amounts of foam, great smell, and leaves a protection behind that beads for weeks, looks almost like the car has a proper ceramic coating. Oh, I use 8oz of armor all and 24oz of water in the foam cannon.
Had a feeling Armour All was going to win after seeing reviews make the rounds a year or two back. It's nice to see Armour All put some effort into rehabilitating their brand. Their foaming wheel and tire cleaner acts exactly like CarPro Retyre at 1/10 of the cost, and their Ceramic Glass coating/cleaner works great too
I’m really surprised All companies haven’t started making a bottle similar to the Meg’s bottle, but it should just dispense the solution as a whole not in two parts. That way you can really control how much shampoo goes in 👍 good idea!
M8 I can tell you why. Because the world is full of idiots. They will literally open up the si section and tip it all into a bucket in one go without even knowing what it is and think this shampoo does not work. Needs to be totally idiot proof for mass market brand.
@@ForensicDetailing very true 😂 what they could do though is have one of those dosing reservoirs on the side, with the litres in marks. So ‘squeeze the bottle and fill to here for 5L, 10L, 15L, and fill here for 20L’ most detailing buckets are 20L so the idiots should be able to figure that one out! 😂
I have been using the Meguirers in Australia … it’s constancy is exactly the same, a thick cream/jelly like, would be interesting to know of this is how its suposed to be or has gone ‘bad’. It works ok, just prefer a simple wash shampoo like Bilt Hamber Touchless and then a ceramic detail spray, get better results for cheaper.
it was a runny liquid when I first bought it. but after opening it, it went like jelly overnight. I can still use it though but any thicker and it might not pour.
Well that is going to be a surprise for the yanks with armour-all 😂 When I first started out I remember I used their armour-all sheild wax & that was excellent, completely different product & ahead of the game back in 2012 with it being a non curing gel like wax. Liked the durability testing method for this review Jon, much more accurate for real world 👍
With turtle wax hybrid, if you use a 1 litre of water, that means you use 15ml of product, but just refill as needed, might work better for it, use the Ammo car wash method with microfibre cloths
Not sure the Hybrid Solutions is getting a fair shake here. Yes, if you make up 5 gallons of mix, at the 3 oz per gallon suggested, it's nuts. BUT, you only make up and use one gallon per wash. So, like most products, it's around 3 oz per wash. 16 washes per bottle at ~$18, is not too bad.
when we compared cost per wash. we calculated the cost based on making 15 litres of wash solution FOR ALL PRODUCTS. So the price comparison stands across the board. Yes you are right you can use less solution but if you apply that to turtle wax you can apply less solution to all the other brands. but the cost per wash is still compared relative to a set quantity. So no respectfully your point is wrong. The concentration of the turtle wax product is very low (in fact the lowest in this test) but it advertises high concentration on the website. So we have to discuss this mate if we dont then its not a fair comparison.
Great review John lot work u put in there. I agree with u these ceramic wash not worth the money better using a ceramic detailer spray or spray and rinse as a drying aid for me. I did use the gtechnic ceramic wash over last winter and I did like it I agree cap nice touch and quality packaging. They do say in the instructions u can put some neat on the mitt I done this and it makes a lot of difference and works great but u are going to get through much more product
Meguiars uk did how to use ceramic wash and explain using noodle wash mitt to clean and microfibre side to apply the ceramic elements. So probably explains why panel test was better than washing the car. Also show the product was thick.
Great review Jon as always. My view is these are poor shampoos with poor protection. Labocosmetica Idrosave is a rinseless product but it does offer good contact cleaning (with a pre wash) and decent gloss, slickness and protection.
i think the carpro is to be used as a hydro coating, meaning it is to be used as a snow foam coating, or manually spraying with a bottle almost like a quick detail, specially because the hydro2 lite that is the same product but ready to use says to spray in the car and then rinse with high pressure very quickly... and says the surface must be cleaned, so it isnt even a shampoo but a coating... either way it is a complex product and isnt well explained... PS: the name also implies it is some sort of coating, their site says it is a revolutionary product with nano stuff... and the name implies HO2 that is some sort of chemicals that reacts with oxygen (iam not a chemist at all but google says it does stuff and may create a protecticve layers idk) so i assume thats why it says to apply and rinse in under 30seconds on the ready to use version... still a confusion of a product...
Jon, I'm a Yank and Amazon has the Meguiars for $20 for the same container. Would have shaken up your rankings...especially since the UK brands are A LOT more expensive to get in the US.
I love this channel, it has helped me so much in my love for this “hobby” I’m no pro but I do enjoy detailing and find it fun seeing the results 👌 I do have a question for you, I have watched a lot of your vids and never seem to see any Autobrite products is there a reason for this as they are my go to brand? I’m just curious
The Carpro instructions are a bit weird. Looking online I don’t think they mention a bucket wash. Either 1:9 in a foam cannon, spray on, wipe with mitt and rinse or “a small amount on a wet mitt” wipe and rinse.
so see 1:32 in this video and freeze frame the label. you can read the label on the product instructions. carpro.global/catalog/hydro2-foam/ If you go to the carpro site they have edited the instructions and changed what was previously the section section titled hand wash instructions on the bottle. And they have changed that top title to "foam lance" so you have 2 sets of instructions both for foam lance. However they have not altered the actual instructions below for the hand wash (2nd section) on the website. So the 2nd set of instructions now for foam lance tell you to use a BUCKET. Carpro have real issues with their instructions. someone has made a quick edit to try and address this and not even thought it through. It really is not good. DIRECTIONS FOAM LANCE Work in shade, rinse vehicle thoroughly. Dilute 1:9 in a bucket. Wash the vehicle section by section with a wash mitt. Rinse immediately after washing each section. Dry remaining water with a CARPRO DHydrate drying towel or by blowing.
Apart from the fact I even show you the label product instructions at 1:32 (which shows its also for hand wash application in a bucket) this is otherwise an awesome comment.
BH touch on following touchless definitely works for days you want easy washes. Other times I tend to go any snowfoam and shampoo I fancy using and then follow up with a dedicated ceramic spray or paste wax. The gimmicky and expensive shampoos over promise and under deliver
Thanks for the review much appreciated.. just wondering when you say you wouldnt use any of these products .is that because you prefer a more trad approach of wash and wax even though the durability of waxes are said to last about a week where as these can last upto 2 mths with the right prep. Obviously waxes are a lot cheaper
I would be curious about the Koch chemie Magic Nano Shampoo, ;-)) also do these shampoos clog the drying towels? Thanks for your instructive videos Tam
I used to sell this stuff, I would never use autoglym on my cars, because most of their products are second rate, but I would use Meguairs, because I'm in the USA and can't get the UK products you tested, good test though.
Never had a problem with Autoglym. In fact I have tried a number of equivalent brands and find I always go back to Autoglym cos it just works better and get better results.
10litre sounds sensible who knows. we discussed this in the precursor video. whatever volume you pick to represent the bucket might not be right for person x or y. but as long as its consistent for the test thats ok 14-20 litres seemed to be the conventional wisdom range. And dont call me Shirley! :)
Frankly I think you're right. Or is it really Shirley 😁 Have you ever told us your preferred pronoun 😂?? Excellent tests sir (or is it?) I for one really appreciate the depth and consistency of your videos enabling me to choose products (I identify as a 'weekend warrior wally 😍) @@ForensicDetailing
How do these compare to a snow foam ceramic coating like Jennychem? They’re applied like you were describing the way you thought the CarPro should be after washing.
I use the GTehnic as a rinse after I’ve snow foamed and contact washed. It works great over an already clean car but I don’t think it’s so great on a dirty car.
Terrific video as always Jon, one thing I would ask, which may seem odd, but is there a chance these type of products cause contamination to stick? I know that sounds completely backwards to their intended use, but every time I use say wetcoat or hydro2, my car is noticeably harder to clean with pre-wash than if it is virgin clear coat. No ceramic or wax undercoat, just wetcoat or hydro2 on my paint and bam, its like a dirt magnetic that is really hard to clean. Any ideas? perhaps water beading in these forms isn't all its cracked up to be?
no mate, specially with wet coat and hydro2 I think these have self cleaning. might be hard to spot the benefit of the self cleaning but you should not notice a negative impact like your describing. Ive not noticed that. strong beading can create like dust spot but those should wash off
@@ForensicDetailing yeah it's so strange, i cannot work out at all why it keeps happening when i use them. even things like bird poo which should be easier to clean off are hellishly difficult to remove, it defies logic. i've actually stopped using them as a result, i'll stick to a classic wax or sealant instead :) cheers jon
@@TheBreakfastLover yeah that's certainly possible, I've never tested my water here. how can one tell if they have hard water? I'm sure I've heard people say water spots are a product of hard water, is that correct?
Never used them or been a fan but they have their place. I’m in the camp of a decent cleansing shampoo (CarPro Reset a favourite) then something like Gyeon WetCoat, a decent spray sealant like TAC ShineeWax or a paste wax👌
Hi Jon, thanks for the fantastic review man! Would like to ask you something else: My car is coated with Gyeon Pure, and currently I am using Dodo B2BM for my maintenance washes. I would like to try something new with the black friday sales, and I am hesitating between CarPro Reset and Labocosmetica Semper. Which one do you think is better? Thanks a lot in advance!
Carpro Reset as bucket wash probably should have been in the test and not the HydrO2 foam. But get that the instructions for hand wash on the bottle must be wrong
Reset is not a ceramic shampoo mate. Hydro2 foam is the correct product for the test. someone actually requested it. The instructions seem wrong but who knows. You would never mix up 1:9 ratio for a hand wash. Carpro altered the website instructions and changed the hand wash to "foam lance" but then left the underlying instructions below the same. So for foam lance it now says to dilute 1:9 in a bucket, which is even more confusing. like ive said capro have consistent problem with their labels, with lots of grammer or typos or bits missing from instructions. its not the end of the world but it does effect their product perception when they get it wrong and this test is an example of that. But when they get it right they can win (they won the previous mega test on interior dressings)
Why don't you try the smaller companies like Sams? I know they have a good range of products and the ones I have tried seem to be really good, but then I have not been able to do a comparison against many other brands.
yer I mean we can pick about 10 brands in this test. there is probably around 500-1000 brands in the UK. So unfortunetly I will always get asked why not try brand X or Y. Its just the nature of the beast. On a positive note though I think we have tested more products from more brands than most channels (maybe any channel). Its an impossible problem to solve mate and theres less and less people doing this type of testing now in the UK because you tube is killing long format views. maybe this video does like 20k views. If I picked brands like Sams over brands like meguiars autoglym etc... it would do about 2k views. so very difficult problem for me to solve.
@@ForensicDetailing I just happen to see Sams all over Facebook and Instagram and I did see a guy in Malaysia ( I think) testing the snow foam on his car which seemed to do a decent job. I think its just nice to add in the odd smaller brand from time to time as it seems to be the same brands over and over with most channels..
A bit of topic but can you do a review of how the wheel cleaning iron removal products can damage lacquer. I use McGuires and bilthamber And had to get the wheels on my E Class Coupe stripped down and relaquered due to using de iron products
hmm TGA in itself should not damage laquer. TGA works by turning iron oxide fe2o3 into iron thiogycolic (sp) oxide. Thats all it does as far as I know. They often contain other surfactants to clean. sometimes people get stainging issues on certain finishes but if you work them and remove them quickly normally they are fine.
I've used the Chem-X product and found that the name is 100% accurate. It beads like crazy, but in my test it failed after less than 4 weeks on average. Pure snake oil.
@@mackemforeverthat's strange as I just tried SnakeOil last month. I noticed it doesn't bead as well as Carpro HydrO2Foam, but after 1 month it's still beading very well
it was not competative on price per wash. TW and megs were the high cost per wash at around £2.30. the labo product is around 6-7£ cost per wash based on its 1:100 bucket ratio at 15litres. It was too far off market to make the cut. although to be fair the carpro label error cause so many problems it might have deserved a slot in its place.
its a fast way to add protection while you wash.. but the wash element of these products is disapointing and the protection portion can be disapointing too.
I’m very surprised you gave the Gyeon Bath+ a low score. I’ve used this product a fair amount, and when applied as suggested from Gyeon the results are very good.
it came 3rd i think overal? Ive used it at higher doses and it will bead up more but I have to use it as instructed. At 17.5 ml to 15 litres it does not perform any better or worse than the others. Try it at that ratio. thats aroun 1:850 no other product gets near that ratio, its a tall order. most are around 1:200 ish.
Never really understood why these "ceramic shampoo's" excist. In my opinion you'd be better of by buying a good, slick shampoo and a decent wax. Both in costs as in durability.
they sound great on paper mate. I think its a powerfull concept to "joe bloggs" I suspect these products sell quite well initially. But not many people report back good things about them in the comments.
Just wanted to say thanks for watching and thanks to those that comment and like/dislike. Your support is very much appreciated.

Carpro Hydr02 Foam, mix the product 1:9 in a foam lance, then you golden. Good job mate.
Shine on you crazy diamonds!🚘
the ceramic wet wax is good mate. the old blue rinse wax they had was another level but its gone now.
Great test! You've earned yourself a new subscriber. I'd love to see more videos like this on the future with all kid of wash / detailing products!
they sell that Armour all in all the big box stores sometimes can find a gallon of it for cheap
Autobrite - Ceramic shampoo
Angelwax - Enigma Shampoo
Auto Finesse - Wash N Gloss
Liquid Tech Car Care - Ceramic Shampoo
Tanks for this review 👍
Most of these will work better delivered by lance.
Whilst price is a factor, to me it’s the most insignificant one. What I want is a product that performs. Therefore to satisfy my needs, do two rankings, the most important being performance of the product and then include price, if you really think you need to as you place a very high emphasis on scoring on cost.
We just show grid so you can remove any test from your own rankings
Absolutely right, a cheap product that doesn't work is pointless.
I've ceramic coated my two cars with different Gyeon coatings and I've used Valet Pro Ceramic shampoo which has definitely improved gloss.
Love your videos!
Turtle wax and Armor all used to be laughable detaling brands 10 years ago. Now they seem to be in the right path.
How long do you find Wetcoat Essence to last at the stronger (5:1) dilution?
hasnt wet coat essence been discountinued?
@@ForensicDetailing still available, at least in Canada 🇨🇦
Their foaming wheel and tire cleaner acts exactly like CarPro Retyre at 1/10 of the cost, and their Ceramic Glass coating/cleaner works great too
What are you, a Armour All rep? xD
@@mariospanna8389 😂do Armour All reps exist? I figured they bought a lifetime contract with every big box store in the universe and called it a day
@@derek723 Whatever you say Rep x
I'm having a good experience with the Sonax Active Ceramic Shampoo, I use it on my E36 and bikes. It leaves a very slick finish.
@@ForensicDetailing They are 3M owned and manufactured, doubt if it is a fault that got through their quality checks
Well that is going to be a surprise for the yanks with armour-all 😂 When I first started out I remember I used their armour-all sheild wax & that was excellent, completely different product & ahead of the game back in 2012 with it being a non curing gel like wax.
Liked the durability testing method for this review Jon, much more accurate for real world 👍
Cheers brian
Love the video as always
Meguiars uk did how to use ceramic wash and explain using noodle wash mitt to clean and microfibre side to apply the ceramic elements. So probably explains why panel test was better than washing the car. Also show the product was thick.
Awesome detailed video!!!
Will you be doing a lance test with the ones that can be used in the lance?
Possible mate in 2025
The Bilt Hamber I use in a pump spray after washing, then rinse again. Soon as you start the rinse, the water just beads up and runs off.
I use Autoperfekt ceramic shampoo very good with their ceramic foam
Have you tried wax on from infinity wax? Find that pretty decent and durable
Jon, I'm a Yank and Amazon has the Meguiars for $20 for the same container. Would have shaken up your rankings...especially since the UK brands are A LOT more expensive to get in the US.
Great video John thanks 👍🏻
I love this channel, it has helped me so much in my love for this “hobby” I’m no pro but I do enjoy detailing and find it fun seeing the results 👌 I do have a question for you, I have watched a lot of your vids and never seem to see any Autobrite products is there a reason for this as they are my go to brand? I’m just curious
The Carpro instructions are a bit weird. Looking online I don’t think they mention a bucket wash. Either 1:9 in a foam cannon, spray on, wipe with mitt and rinse or “a small amount on a wet mitt” wipe and rinse.
so see 1:32 in this video and freeze frame the label. you can read the label on the product instructions.
carpro.global/catalog/hydro2-foam/
If you go to the carpro site they have edited the instructions and changed what was previously the section section titled hand wash instructions on the bottle.
DIRECTIONS FOAM LANCE
Work in shade, rinse vehicle thoroughly.
Dilute 1:9 in a bucket.
Wash the vehicle section by section with a wash mitt.
Rinse immediately after washing each section.
Dry remaining water with a CARPRO DHydrate drying towel or by blowing.
Not something i would use personally really appreciate your videos Jon.
Ps is your music on Spotify
Don't think it is m8
Hydro02 Foam is for a foam cannon
Cheers.
Obviously waxes are a lot cheaper
yer this is a quick easy option I think. some people will like it. I would like it in winter maybe.. but right now I want to enjoy detailing the car.
I would be curious about the Koch chemie Magic Nano Shampoo, ;-)) also do these shampoos clog the drying towels? Thanks for your instructive videos Tam
the material in these ceramic shampp can loiter around in the drying towel mate but it will wash out over time.
Thanks
Sonax (german company) has very good availability in India, it would be great if you could also include sonax in your lineup
Good review a lot of work went into that no 5 minute job👍
I used to sell this stuff, I would never use autoglym on my cars, because most of their products are second rate, but I would use Meguairs, because I'm in the USA and can't get the UK products you tested, good test though.
Never had a problem with Autoglym. In fact I have tried a number of equivalent brands and find I always go back to Autoglym cos it just works better and get better results.
As these products are aimed at the diy market surely figures should be based on a 10ltr bucket ?
Have you ever reviewed the Yumcars Foam+ Ceramic Shampoo?
I use the GTehnic as a rinse after I’ve snow foamed and contact washed. It works great over an already clean car but I don’t think it’s so great on a dirty car.
yer I think this is a spot on point with these generally and ties in with my experience to.
I found that Car Chem's ceramic shampoo water spotted badly and they were a pain to get off.
I've used both Wetcoat and HydrO2Foam for years and never noticed that. I use deionized water. Is it possible you have particularly hard water?
@@TheBreakfastLover yeah that's certainly possible, I've never tested my water here. how can one tell if they have hard water? I'm sure I've heard people say water spots are a product of hard water, is that correct?
@@rickdolton-h8j correct. And you'd need a TDS meter to see how hard your water is. But in general even the best tap will lead to mineral stains.
Ive not used semper mate. Reset is nice.. good 500 to 1 concentrate, nice cleaning power. good shampoo.
@ thanks a lot Jon, u really are the definiton of the word ‘MAN’
Needed the Halfords and autobrite
For gtechniq gwash to get more hydrophobics you need to put the product on your wash mit neat, then you will get the effects that you want
I feel like the takeaway here is wash the car and follow up with a spray and rinse instead.
Should be using carpro Reset.
its not a ceramic shampoo mate
John, shame you didn’t try Koch Chemie nano magic shampoo. Better ratios and can be used in a canon.

@@ForensicDetailing thanks for the reply, I think my problem is probably due to leaving it on too long, not until it dries as I agitate it

I would've added Labocosmetica Revitax and Chem-X SnakeOil to the comparison. Labo claims 4 months durability, Chem-X claims 6 months durability.

Missing out the best: Labocosmetica Revitax
it was not competative on price per wash. TW and megs were the high cost per wash at around £2.30. the labo product is around 6-7£ cost per wash based on its 1:100 bucket ratio at 15litres. It was too far off market to make the cut. although to be fair the carpro label error cause so many problems it might have deserved a slot in its place.
Normal wash shampoo and BSD or similar = win
Any point getting a ceramic shampoo if you've used seal n shine?
its a fast way to add protection while you wash.. but the wash element of these products is disapointing and the protection portion can be disapointing too.

it came 3rd i think overal? Ive used it at higher doses and it will bead up more but I have to use it as instructed. At 17.5 ml to 15 litres it does not perform any better or worse than the others. Try it at that ratio. thats aroun 1:850 no other product gets near that ratio, its a tall order. most are around 1:200 ish.
