Aaron, love it that you're part of the walking tours now. In the past we would hear a comment or two from you, but just like the recaps in the studio, your input on the trees, structures, ect. is really helpful. Please keep talking and adding your knowledge ! Plus, the banter between the two of you is hilarious. You guys have gotten so much more relaxed and comfortable in front of us over the years. Thanks for sharing all you do !
Douglas walked that whole tour with you! He is such a personality - happy kitty living in a beautiful home ❤🐈⬛❄️🐈⬛❤️
The cats always steal the show
Love it when they show up
One word………Wow!! Loved every minute of this tour!
Douglas made the show. He is beautiful and fun.
@@roselawson5301in
Aaron and Laura, thank you for taking us on this beautiful winter Wonderland tour! ❄️🌲❄️🌲 and please give that loyal Douglas a huge , warm hug for me, love him so much along with Cheddar and Russell!
Yes, I love Douglas
AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL, WINTER WONDERLAND!
I surely expected to see Mother Nature herself, sitting on one of your benches. The most MAGESTIC TOUR of the year. Maybe some pom pine structural trees near the pond would look like snowpeople at first snowfall 🥰 all wandering in amazement at the koi.
YOUR APPROVED by Mother Earth herself, she told me to say that.
Makes all the effort of planing so peaceful when the seasonal rest period tells us to " just enjoy the beauty"
You need to make Christmas cards of this !
Yes Douglas deserves a shoutout! He kept pace and took the tour with Laura. Love Douglas’ thick fur.
Is Douglas your cat? I thought he was a neighbours cat.
I think Douglas has taken over and screwed up the order of things, it used to be Russell that followed Laura around. 🐱
Thank you, Douglas, for the magical tour of your garden! So kind of you to adopt those talented humans.
Smart kitty❤
Laura, the joy you have in your garden is so touching to me. When you exclaim over something, it helps me to remember to be grateful for my garden. I think your channel is inspiring because you can’t help but find beauty in both the large (the sweeping views) and the small (an individual blossom). I know you and Aaron and your staff work hard, and those of us who follow you reap the rewards of that work. Thank you!
It's really great to hear the joy and appreciation for all that the Garden Answer property brings to this family and to us who are observers. That joy is shared with us. Knowledge shared. Beauty shared. Anticipation in the future shared.
So nicely said! Thank you.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I would love to have an hour long video of the pond!! The sounds, the lightly falling snow, the fire burning!! Just put a camera in one of those beautiful chairs and let us enjoy the view!!
To see the winter interest around the pond for the first time is simply magical! All the snow cover makes the perfect winter scene all around your home and property. Thanks for the early morning tour.
I appreciate SOO much how conscientious Aaron is of moving slowly! There are some creators, (even veteran) creators that struggle with that.. 😅❤️
I agree!! It’s a serious problem for me I get sick watching hand held camera ! This is the best channel. The best series. I love the garden and also the humility and sense of family. ❤❤❤ makes me gush 😂😂
And now we see the importance of evergreens, structure and winter interest! Defining spaces is so important! Thank you for this beautiful tour, the wealth of your gardening knowledge, and expertise!
When hearing the joy in Laura’s voice and the appreciation in her heart, I feel the sting of tears of happiness for the legacy A and L are creating for their family.❤
This tour was wonderful! Thank you! A winter wonderland. I got the biggest kick out of Douglas!
Doesn't the world look beautiful and serene with a blanket of snow? The opening was breathtaking ❤
Your garden is beautiful, yes, but fluffy Douglas was the star of this vlog! Such a character!
Laura, I watch gardening videos to learn and improve my gardening skills not to be a voyeur into the lives of people posting. Your postings are my favorite hands down. You talk fast, getting to the point. The editing is superb, fast-forwarding through repetitive actions once we have viewed them enough to understand why you do something a certain way. Your children are lovely but you do not make them the focal point, thank you. I love your mom's presence it is always in a learning capacity. I have learned so much from you, thank you. Fan in Bozeman, MT.
Evergreens with a dusting of snow are simply magical 🌲
Beautiful, interesting video. I appreciate so much that Laura & Aaron got up before breakfast so they could show us their beautiful garden before the snow melted. I especially enjoyed Aaron's aside about the evergreen that needs two 28# bags of Espoma fertilizer 3X a year: what extreme care you guys are going to to make your garden beautiful. The entire video was like an adventure movie with plush Douglas rushing dramatically into each scene: that cat is a DELIGHT!
Laura and Aaron are the reason I got into gardening 7 years ago, and it has literally healed my soul from the inside out.. Every bit of advice you've given us over the years have always worked for me. (Zone 6A for me) Thank you for your videos. You guys are so genuine and hard working. Bless yall. ❤
I hope you gave Douglas some pets after this tour, I kept thinking “pet that adorable kitty!” During the whole tour ❤
Same ❤️
Douglas is a self-serve cat. Just rubs and rubs their ankles. No petting required. Lol.
Those cats with personalities! Russell and Cheddar with sleek bodies and zen attitudes and Douglas so fluffy and round leaps with each attempt to be noticed and stroked.
Thank you for the stunning drone shots. They give me the feels:) The pond is such a breathtaking addition. It’s all lovely.
I know snow can be a hassle & hard to drive in; yet, undisturbed pathways & the evergreens are simply gorgeous when dusted with snow. I loved the aerial view of the property. I thought Russell was your "tour" cat but, Douglas stuck with you the entire video. He's a camera ham just like Russell. 😊🌲
Aaron, do you ever freeze frame pictures of Laura, at 9:30 when Laura turns around and says" isn't it awesome Aaron," the pure joy on her face is so stunning and sweet. With the view of the pond in the background.
Thank you for the tour and showing us. It looks so incredibly magical this morning with the fresh snow. ❤😊
That was a precious moment. Thanks for timestamping it.😊
I was watching the video and showed to my husband how magical it looks and he shouted “well honey I’m sorry you CAN’T order snow from Prove Winers”. 😂😂
You know, the sumacs take a little “whip and chairs lion taming” to keep them from being bullies, but my oh my, aren’t they worth it? Every season they are beautiful. The bright green in the spring and summer. The flaming color in the fall, and the graceful shape of their limbs with the neat furry flowering heads in the winter. Looks great out here in the snow. So does the whole garden. Really an enjoyable tour. Thanks for braving the cold and wet to show us!!🙏🌲💚
Douglas should be on the payroll. He’s highlighting each specimen as Laura presents them.
Really enjoyed this tour, and as always Laura’s enthusiasm for nature,
The Persephone garden has always delighted me! There is this simple elegance even with its formality. It seems so serene. The benches in the cut flower define the area so well, especially with the snow. You have created such a magical space, with just the right balance between structure and plants. Love your gardens and love your channel.
Slight tweaking suggestion: How about Persephone’s Garden? Have loved the channel for years now - thanks!
It reminds me of the Huntington Library Gardens in So. CA where I go to be surrounded by beauty. Btw, I thought for the longest time that the location of the Persephone Garden was the front entrance of their house…
I don't know why, but this tour made me want to cry. I wish that were something I see everyday.
I understand that Persephone was the goddess of spring 🌱 and nature 🌸. Perfect name for that beautiful area! 😊
Looks so beautiful with the snow. But the show stopper was your furry assistant Douglas. He did a great job helping you show us all the pretty things. 😊
As a Norwegian Forest cat, Douglas's cousins are lying beside having cuddles and watching him romp in your snow. Our snow melted a couple of days ago. It is rare to have snow here in the SW of England, especially so early in winter.
I realized that too this video- He's built for cold weather and looks so fine against the snow covered ground.
Enjoy your rare snow in England. 💂♂️ 🎄 ❄
Did you make a snowman? *snowperson.😎
Yeah it was a bit of flurry in a hurry up here in the west mids, here and gone in 12 hours but beautiful while it was here 😘
Was Douglas drinking from the pond?
“We’ll be in our 60’s or 70’s…”. Thirty years ago, we got a new roof on our house, and I NEVER IMAGINED I’d still be in our home. I’m pushing 60. It happens to the best of us! 😂
Love your content! Beautiful winter tour.
The first snow can be so magical!♡ I love your excitement and your true wonder as you saw each section of your garden for the first time with the dusting of snow. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your gardens "first look" of the winter season and sharing both of your thoughts on what you have done right so far and what your plans are for the future.♡
Your words are the exact way I was feeling!! Listening to Laura.. the joy and wonder, it just make me happy. Thank you Laura and Aaron for sharing your magical spaces with us!! ✨❄️💙❄️✨
Holy cow !!!! What a beautiful winter wonderland ! It still amazes me how you knew where to plant everything in such a very large area. It all looks amazing. Thank you Aaron for the aerial view ! I especially love the view from above of the pond area. All those evergreen trees around the pond look sooo pretty. Last but not least Douglas sure is loving his home with your family. Thank you for a lovely tour of your beautiful property !!!!❤❤
What a loyal kitty Douglas is, he follows you around, very sweet. Aaron, I notice that Laura tries to engage you when she gives a tour but you rarely respond. I think it is very professional, I love how you two work together!
Yes, this is something our warmer zone friends might not fully understand, but winter landscaping is a thing. I'd like to give a shout out to your willow tree, it is magical in the winter and the summer. The pond is just beautiful, like a mountain stream for sure. And, Aaron, we all heard you say "grass" for the west garden, and collectively, we all said.....YES!!! So, better order that little putt-putt mower 😆 Also, love the throw-back photos of when you planted something, I know that takes extra time, but it gives us hope! You guys are so great to hop out of bed to give us a snow tour, but I think you must like it as well. You're the best 🥰😍😘
Lampposts would be so pretty next to the 4 benches in the circular opening
Consider a Victorian lamp post as the focal point of a small garden in the center of the the big circle. It would look great during the day and awesome if lit up for a few hours in the early evening. Thematically it would fit with the statuary, arbors, and urns. Love your gardens!
Persephone garden!?! ❤ That's my daughter's middle name. The Lord has a way of tying everyone together one way or another. Absolutely love seeing the snow and beauty of all of it surrounding your home.
What is it about a snowfall that makes us feel like kids again! Beautiful winter tour-everything looks magical!
Love how Laura stops to comment on individual shrubs, trees, perennials, etc. I did not know that a honeysuckle stays green through winter! Thank you!
There is such a stillness and quietness after the first snow. It’s always so beautiful
Thank you Aaron & Laura for getting up so early to show us your beautiful winter wonderland! I guess Russell thought it was too cold to come out so Douglas has taken his spot in the tours.🎄🌲❄️🐈🐈⬛❤
Rope lighting to mark the pathway by the pond for night visits. Twinkles.
a great idea!!!!@@gafairbanks2434
What a glorious winter tour! So, so beautiful! The perfect time to show off why you need the plants with colored limbs, and the berries! Oh! So lovely!❤❤❤
I adore your cats. It is very apparent that they adore you!
Dear Aaron and Laura, all of your hard work, creativity, talent and vision have made your property so lovely in every season. As life takes you on its journey and time passes, your property will truly be an expression of your love of gardening and each other.
You’re this generations gardener that one day people will look back on and say amazing things about this gorgeous property you both have put your heart and soul into. Thank you for always taking us along to enjoy it with you guys!
Douglas is the star of this show! He totally followed you on the whole tour. Love him! AND the tour too....magical!
A small gazebo would be so nice. The kids could have "tea parties" in it and imagine how pretty it would be in the winter with lights and greenery/ bows on it 🎄
What a pretty tour . The structure of the plants are so critical to a winter garden . It really makes you want to go out and walk around and look at everything that was thriving in the summer . The little bit of snow is like a soft pillowy blanket over the plants to let them know it’s time to rest . ❤🌲❤️
To me the prettiest thing no matter the season is the big willow tree.
The drone footage was so amazing. My favorite part by far was the drone footage of the pond, with the staggered evergreens was simply beautiful! Your vision is spot on, Laura.
One still enjoys beauty when we are in our 60’s and 70’s 😂 Mind you it comes sooner than you think😉
So beautiful with snow. So much winter interest, including the oak that still is holding onto it’s leaves. Sometime they hold onto their leaves in youth, but grow out of it. Give the tree a chance. Oaks are so beautiful. I live in Northern California where oaks are king.
My oaks are fifty years old. Look like they're hundred years old. Good shade, but so messy. Leaves hang on until the spring time here in Georgia. Already have got leaves up twice, I'll do another in February, which will just about do it. One more in April gets it done. If I had my time to go over,I would never plant one. But theirs is away from the house, and are in what will become the woodlands. Leaves will be expected in the woods. I was only thinking about a fast growing tree and shade. Which I got.
First snow fall in December, now that will get us into the holiday spirit. What a generous gift we got by being with you the first time you saw the pond area after 2-3 inches of snow, absolutely magical. What you guys have accomplished in 7 yrs is incredible in addition to raising two beautiful children.
What a treat, an early white fresh snow garden tour. The pond just looked magical, I just only could imagine if the calorado trees have Christmas lighting, what would be the sight at night??
It was just a magnificent tour hosted by great gardners ,Laura and Aaron, so thank you 🙏🙏👍🎄🎄⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️
THIS TOUR MADE MY YEAR!
THE BEAUTY OF OUR MOTHER and PLANET. SPEECHLESS 😘💗😴🫂
This has to be my favorite garden tour of the year. I think it's because it is so different from all the others. Such a drastic change overnight, I am sure. I bet Benjamin and Samantha absolutely loved the magical transformation. Happy Snow Day! ❄️
Douglas is so special a kitty! The snow encasing your evergreens is stunning.
When discussing the royal raindrop crabapple tree. Laura gives her little definitive "well" at the end, just like her mom, Susan. 😊 So cute, love that.
Douglas is an absolute stud-muffin this time of year! Thank yall for sharing your beautiful space!
Arron will need to begin making a movie - from start of purchased lands to retirement and enjoyment of all you two (and crews) have developed over the years.
Now just sit back with hot chocolate or coffee and playback continuously in your elder years. The kids sure would enjoy that 🎬 movie production! What a Legacy.
Such a pretty time of year for a garden tour. Laura's joy is so contagious and I love seeing Douglas tag along in the snow.
It looks so pretty, but no thanks! So glad to live in a place that NEVER snows!
Laura and Aron! Douglas is loving the Winter Garden Tour!
Everything is beautiful‼️🫶🏼
That’s a more than beautiful paradise i am excited to see young people happy ,you guys are hilarious I laughed so hard this morning watching your video because you’re husband mentioned being 60 and 70 years old and I know nobody who is younger wants to imagine being that old I am 50 and I’m scared lol❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for showing us your beautiful property , I love it.
Your first snowfall winter tour was wonderful. It was great so see the established spaces and to almost see your planting brain conjuring what to plant in the vacant spots. As usual, a great video. Thank you! Have fun in the snow while it lasts.
Hahaha Douglas and his plume tail leading the way ❤
Beautiful, and seeing Douglas play in the snow was absolutely delightful. ❤
I love how you insert pictures of when you planted and include the year, so we can see the change/progress.
Laura, have you ever considered landscape lighting around some of the paths? Nothing prettier at night, especially with the snow! All of your teams hard work has certainly paid off. Simply "magical".
I can see a horse and sleigh going down that beautiful lane .Just breath taking !!
I've never seen snow in real life and honestly seeing the buildings all around is very pretty and looking like a little village.
Beautiful winter wonderland. I'm in the Appalachian mountains and it reminds me of a forest fire has come through here. We really don't have many evergreens like we used to. Fall season is beautiful here but winter not so much. Can't get over how much everything is growing. When Aaron said you all would be 60 or 70, I said "I'm there"! I wish I had gotten interested in more gardening when I was younger. All the trees would be mature and beautiful. 💛👏🎄
I love the dusting of snow against the dark frames of plants and the hedges. Indeed a real scandi winter appearance. Pond is georgous
The first snowfall of the season is always a magical experience. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your gardens with all of us.
Growing up in MI, Mom would send us kids out with a broom to “beat the snow off the bushes”. Very fond memory.
Glorious! Those video openings with the music and the splendor of your property that we have watched evolve always brings tears to my eyes! As always, thanks for taking us along and sharing the magical moments of seeing the pond in winter for the first time with you both. Such joy!
Being near Laura seems to be the highlight of Douglas's days.
What is it about snow that makes us humans smile and give us all the cozy vibes? It's just white, it's cold, it melts. But it makes everything beautiful and your property is gorgeous in the snow! Thanks Laura and Aaron for sharing!
Imagine a two story tall octagon tower built as a brick and stone folly at the far end of the great lawn...it would be a fantastic fort lookout and a rain shelter, photo backdrop, or even a bridal retreat before a garden wedding...
So beautiful! Wow!! I'm glad Aaron said grass down the walkway, he read my mind. Funny how the blanket of continuous white snow helps you see it in a blanket of grass 🤍💚
Aren't you just so proud - really shows off the plan
🎄 Such a beautiful home. You are blessed! Douglas helping you give this walking tour was a bonus for us fans. 😺
My dog loves to watch your videos with me. He watches for the cats and will get excited when they pop on the screen. If they go out of frame in the corner he'll even look for them behind the tv!
A really enjoyable tour, your property is so pretty in the snow and now I realise why you are so particular about placement and Winter interest. Bravo to Douglas for sticking with you throughout, but he does seem to have usurped Russell - he and Cheddar are barely present these days. Either that or they just prefer the warm greenhouse! Thank you to Aaron or whoever did the drone footage...it was magical.
Breathtaking Beauty at it's GRANDURE.
AIREAL VIEW, PRECIOUS to all Angels flying over.
Douglas is a Norwegian Forest cat……snow is “his” element!!!
Could anything be more beautiful?! What a fabulous reward for all your hard work. My two wishes are to be 25 years younger and live where it snows. 😂
I love the winter tour. What I love most is you guys. The two of you with Aarons input and comments put a smile on my face. I loved the age comment. All of the evergreen trees are the bomb. Beautiful.
I just love how Douglas is always trying to get some attention! He is sweet 😊
Oh the gardens look so magical in the snow. Everything looks so good and we can really see how much you have added this season. Love the pond area. It is truly magical. So peaceful and beautiful. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and I love it. Have a blessed day everyone. 🎄
This tour gives me hope looking forward to the Birth of Springs balance. 🥰
I'm sad when summer is over everything is so beautiful in your gardens, but it is magical with the snow. I can't wait for the following planting season.
The garden looks gorgeous ❤ That little Douglas is too cute, his bushy tail 😂😍😘😘
Douglas is your very own Vanna White… he rubs himself over everything you are touring! So cute!🥰
I live in the deep south and snow is a rarity for us. Thank you for sharing your winter wonderland with us. Just beautiful, serene and so magical.
"Garden development in the future " more property? Love everything you guys do. I wish I still had the energy
How glorious everything looks with that bit of snow. It just goes to show how well you have done with adding winter interest everywhere! The evergreens, benches, pots, statues all add amazing interest, but it was also interesting to see the structure the deciduous trees, shrubs and perennials added as well. It all looks so wonderful and thank you for bringing us along!
This may be the only video I watch today! My mind is " full steam ahead " in planning what I need to purchase for next year!
Definitely a work in progress.
Laura, I was particularly struck by the beauty of the large weeping willow tree that made an appearance twice in this December garden tour! You did not feature it, but it certainly showed itself as a mainstay of your garden!
Willows are majestic always returning me to my childhood. My Grandma's home and childhood home.
I rooted 3 branches and we placed them across the lake this year. Can't wait to see them grow up strong and beautiful.
Guys, everything looks so magically beautiful! You have really transformed your landscape! If you added some magical lighting everywhere to highlight your beautiful trees and paths it would really sparkle at night! Can't wait to see what you do! Love your videos!
They already have. All twinkle lights. Every tree, every structure,it's magical at night. The drone shot was awe inspiring.
You are so right, it's beautiful! I was thinking more about year round landscape lighting. You know little up lights for the trees and pathway lights, or beautiful carriage light poles maybe? It's so awesome already though, like a magical garden in a book.
@@lisahowell3468 I agree! I have been thinking they should consider some select garden landscape lighting to in enhance the night time views.
I wish I was living in a colder climate and enjoying snowy days like this each winter ❤❤
The Hartley and the formal garden in front of it is stunning. I guess I have a preference for formal gardens.
Also, your kitty with the snow on his back is silly. 🤣
I believe the reason you are so very blessed is that you appreciate it all - thx so much
Peaceful winter wonderland.
Laura and Aaron, regarding the scarlet oaks and the leaves-
They probably will not hold the leaves until spring, but will likely lose them later than other deciduous species. Also, scarlet oaks are usually not sold as named cloned cultivars, but seed grown. (Cloning/grafting will usually be noted, as it's less common in practice for these oaks)
So your scarlets will have enough genetic variation to behave differently to each other. I have two nuttall oaks that are nearly identical but since they are seed grown, the differences are interesting. One always leafs out much later than the other, and also drops leaves much later than the other. In fact at this moment, the early oak is naked and the late oak hasn't even finished turning from red to brown! But they will both be naked long before springtime, so give your late scarlet a moment and see what it wants to do!
Love your channel!!!❤
The pond with the snow and evergreens is STUNNING! And I think Laura likes the stones/boulders!
Just made me think of a stone display of " The Lion & the Lamb." Near the pond.
Many HUGGS TO the pond crew for their exquisite visions. My minds eye overflowing with new projects for my gardens. BLESSINGS 💞
