    Bangers and Cash is one of the VERY few programmes worth watching on TV. It's an oasis in a desert of deeply uninteresting silliness.

    D.A abbreviation for Disc Abrasive - like a light duty Angle Grinder for very fine flatting of the paint where bleached paint from Sunshine/Ultra violet light has bleached the paint over the years. - take note !!- most Red Cars turn Pink from sunshine bleaching

      It's actually Dual Action. This could be either for sanding or polishing. But the D.A. stands for that. Up to a few years ago there was only dual action ( meaning spinning and oscillating ) sanders. Now detailers use DA polishers. 👍

    • @irishrover63
      @irishrover63 Місяць тому +2

      @@wombatsyoutube I also hate that term "detailing", back in the day it was a cut and polish, simple. Now we have a ton of products with ceramics, silicates, compounds, etc. Marketing hype.

    • @wombatsyoutube
      @wombatsyoutube Місяць тому +1

      @@irishrover63 true. I'm 40 years in and the principle of 'flat and polish' hasn't changed one bit. It's just the jargon along with unnecessary products to basically complicate things packaged under the 'Detailing' umbrella! 😂

    I did wonder what was going on at Rillington, those cars parked outside have not moved for years, I keep looking as I drive past, the old morris minor estate in the corner think it might be a woody, seems rather sad.

    Maybe you could set up a small restoration business for some of the old cars you keep. It would be an opportunity to employ and train the next generation of motor mechanics and bodywork people. Give something back maybe and save some lovely old cars?

    • @yorkiephil7744
      @yorkiephil7744 Місяць тому +1

      I imagine they are far too busy with their auction business, social media and television work to do something like that. There are plenty of specialists, large and small, around for owners who need help.

    • @lips5913
      @lips5913 Місяць тому

      @yorkiephil7744 Yes. They are probably too busy, but maybe it would suit one of the younger family members, an opportunity for them to distinguish themselves?! Also my thought was to sell on finished cars rather than do up customers cars. They are ideally placed to source raw material and market the completed cars.

    • @philburrow297
      @philburrow297 Місяць тому +2

      If you’ve seen the Resto show, you’ll realise there’s rarely any money in buying & restoring; in some cases you’ll write-off thousands. The money is in restoring other people’s. I get the bit about ‘giving back’ but not sure any business could expose itself to open-ended losses.

    I'm a bit confused, is the empty garage that's having cars slowly moved out of it and is no longer used, the original site on Pickering Rd made famous by the TV show ? Obvs Derek is sat in the in the bigger unit down the road in this video.

    • @DTMathewsons

    Anyone else that hates seat belts
    Cars that are exempt
    Up to 65
    Light commercial April 67
    Over 35cwt 1980
    If belts are fitted it's legal requirements to wear them
    But you can remove legally any belts fitted to the above vehicles
