As the lights were switched on, I swore out loud and loudly in admiration. My better half asked what was wrong. I answered nothing, nothing at all, showed her the screen. One eye roll later and she leaves the room! Awesome content again #thelatebrakeshow Jonny Smith 🥇🏁👏
Hmmm. I have a wife like that. I tried really hard to bring her round showing her dismantled turbo, brake calipers, steering rack etc and how they work but she still didn't get it. I gave up and let her grow vegetables that the supermarket has better and pay for all the tools and built her the best watering system in the village...
LoL! My wife long ago stopped commenting on my viewing habits. She no longer says anything about my time 'wasted' on UA-cam, and I've learned not to reply.:)
Hey Jonny, we painted all the artwork and signwriting, it was a dream job from start to finish, just up the road from the house, Willie and Morean are top class, this video really shows place off well too, great job!
100% agree. There's no comparison between silly-money modern car collections and the pure enthusiasm & passion for real classic motoring gems as on display with Wullie and his excellent museum.
I love it when a proper enthusiast gets a few bob behind them in life and absolutely indulges their passion in a pure way, not for show but for the sheer love of it. Like Jonny said, he could buy supercars but why would he want to do that when this is so much more interesting and fun :) Great content as always - Keep showing us these treasures
We met Willie at the NEC Classic Car show recently, we didnt know about any of this and we were just talking cars when I said what have you got and he reeled of the list, mind blown! Willie is a really lovely lovely guy and he said to us if we're ever in Scotland...
This is the best and most inspiring 'colletion'. Willie is such a down to earth , humble guy. Everything is pure love and affection. That Fiat 131 was unbeatable in 80s, here in Africa, and never lost a race. It was eventually banned from racing.
What a lovely, lovely chap!. As a child of the 70's I have a love of 70's rally cars having been brought up on Grandstand / World of Sport showing the Lombard RAC rally. Thanks again to the fantastic owner for sharing his beautifully curated collection with us, you can see how passionate he is and I for one am eternally grateful these are not just locked away but shared with like minded individuals.
Two minutes in and WOW! Best car cave so far buy a country míle. Johnny thank you so much for starting car caves. I'm actually envious enough that it is creating ambition within my soul to have such a space & collection. Now in with the rest of the video. 💯💥👏👏🔥🔥
What a collection. As much as I love Mk2 Escorts, as legendary as the GT40 is and even an F1, for me the cherry on top was that 131 Mirafiori. Only ever saw 2 (street versions) in my life . One was at a weekly back road street drag "get together", it sounded absolutely manic screaming up and down the strip. What a car
it’s been a year since we lost my dad, who started driving with a bunch of Imps, but was a Fiat man for much of his life - driving his 131 2000TC Sport was where i remember him at his happiest, so it was a real treat seeing the Abarth - thanks Willie, Jonny & team!
We loved this episode! As soon as my other half heard whose collection it was he said, this is the guy that bought my lotus twin cam mk1 escort and there it was still looking stunning 😍 Funny how he says it was bought from down south, south to us is Midlands and beyond, we are only in North Yorkshire 🤣🤣 Absolute gem of a man with a collection to die for 👍
That mexico is gorgeous! That mk 1 is too, noticed the deep dish steering wheel looks so cool! The lotus cortina! theyre all gorgeous! I also was wondering when he was mentioned, at around 16:00 Jim Clark - one of the greatest drivers that ever lived. What a brilliant collection, thank you for sharing.
Wow. Willie's amazing museum immediately reminded of the amazing surprise of seeing Giles Villeneuve's and Kimi Raikkonen's F1 cars while on a tour of the Giacobazzi lambrusco cantina in Modena. We thought we were just going for a quick tour of the cantina before tasting the various wines, but... we were treated to an amazing walk-through a fine collection of Ferrari road & race cars, many Tour-De-France bikes, old farm and winery machinery, then a lucky chance to talk with Mr. Giacobazzi himself who told us about his family's history and relationship with Ferrari, not only as a sponsor. You've got to go there if anywhere near Modena.
Great video Jonny, thank you. What a collection of cars and a joy to hear Willie so enthused about them. I live near Kilmarnock and actually bought several cars from the dealership Willie mentioned he served his time in. Oh, and my first car was a Hillman Imp! Keep up the great work.
That has to be the Colin McRae Hillman Avenger in the corner? Being a Scottish collection, Hillman and the McRae link…it kind of adds up… Excited for the video on it regardless. Great collection and another great car caves video!
Some collection worked hard for it you deserve it, just watched ever min off it , love how you never have forgotten your self so down to earth, lotus cortina got too be my favourite 😍
Having been in the car trade 40 years I’ve NEVER been jealous of a collection except this one, I have a few triumphs but no old fords sadly, this collection is absolutely beautiful and have had most of these in the past in standard guise over the years and a standard twin can miafiori, if I’d only had the space and a bit more money back then to keep them, brilliant video 😎
WOW, how good was that. What a car collection and when I saw the RS Mexico my memory went into overdrive as I owned one back in the day, such a great car. I take my hat off to Wullie who allowed us to look at his dream... Thank you..
What a fantastic workshop, full of brilliant cars, the Imp interested me as George Bevan had a house and workshop (garage) next to my junior school on Leesons Hill in Orpington Kent back in approx 1970, about the time my interest in cars started so I would often stand chatting as he worked on the cars and would explain bits and pieces to me. Also the 131, my Dad had a new 4 door 1.6 in 1977, and I had a 1982 Supermirafiori 2ltr for a few yrs which was super reliable, smooth and fast. Great video. Alex.
Jonny is right - the roads around this part of Ayrshire are superb for driving on. Quiet enough, twisty enough. Mr Hamilton needs to take his collection out for more drives! They need a bit of dirt on them. When I seen the yellow Mk2 I was reminded of one of the Ayrshire farmers who raced one just like it in local rallies. They swapped the engine in to a Fiesta, which I had a very short go of, and couldn't believe how quick it was, how instant the throttle response was.
This man is a legend. Let's not forget he is a self made millionaire. Through hard work, graft and determination. What has seeded from this is a school boy dream. And supported from his glorious wife. What a fucking story. Amazing. 😊
To die for car collection right there. Nice to see them here in Scotland. That’s my dream man cave. Glad they all belong to who seems like a genuine, decent guy that’s a proper enthusiast 👌🏻👍🏻
He sounds like such a nice, down to earth kind of guy. Sort of guy you could just have a pint and talk cars with all day. Glad he's content. It's a great collection. Reckon the 131 is my favourite. Great video Jonny.
Willie’s desire for attention to detail is remarkable. Authenticity is key here. Love the artwork too. Must have been very satisfying to get the walls customised to match every car. Love that Lotus Cortina ! Jim Clark would be smiling down with a big thumbs up. The Routemaster is also very cool. I’m obliged to say that as a Londoner. Great edition. Thank you Willie and Jonny for giving us a wonderful look at a superb collection 👏🏻
What an awesome collection. This really brought back memories, remember watching the original Bevan Imp racing in early 70s, whilst attending Modsports meets with a now departed friend who raced an Austin Healey 100/4 M.
Wow,wow, wow! This is the best car collection I have seen in a long time. A credit to the owner and all the people who have worked on all the restorations and builds. And the building's artwork has been an amazing job. If certain lager companies made motorsport enthused man caves....
Holy Moly, all from my era! I remember watching those or at least cars like them racing whilst watching Grandstand & World of Sport on the weekends during my youth! Awesome What an amazing collection and so well preserved & presenting. Thank you Wullie & Co!!!! Great video Jonny, thanks!
I do love this content Jonny, seeing people with a true passion who have been lucky enough to indulge. Thank you for enabling us to see behind these otherwise closed doors, as a personal collection is rather different to anywhere else we might see a bunch of nice cars like a museum or showroom. Each car has its reason for being there and there's the story behind the why, the acquisition and the ownership. These videos inspire me to maybe one day be lucky enough to have a small collection of my own.
Woooooowwwwwwwww! This is just stunning! I’ve worked in some impressive places in my time (hours flying in a Lancaster for example), but this is how I’d do it if ever the opportunity comes up. Willie, his wife and the guy who did the artwork, well, I take my hat off. I don’t suppose I’d ever get to wander around and drink it all in, but that’s just a place that’d be lovely to soak up the loveliness of someone’s private collection. Stunning! Well played Willie (and support team).
the comment about the choice between supercars and a collection like this is exactly how i feel. zero interest in the modern stuff, but that 131 arbarth hits the spot. another cracking vid Jonny
brilliant ! My grand paw built that car at Linwood .The collection is one of the best I have ever seen .bring a tear to a glass eye it would ! Hair standing to attention watching that . petrol bliss !
Hiya Johnny, another brilliant episode, what a den!. Was watching you get your charger ready, I love her she's perfect. I had the same steering wheel position problem with my first car a Viva hb (think tiny little charger). My Dad told me how to sort it, we wound the track rod in one side and out the other being careful to count the threads until we had it central. Also measured the distance between the front inside edge of tyre tread and checked it was same when finished. Took her to be re tracked and we had got it spot on. Copper lubed all the track rod threads and buried them in waxoil afterwards. Loving your videos, Best wishes from John (Kai's dad)
Hi Jonny, this must be one of your best videos, I know Imp's really well having raced them against Bill and George. I know this period well I raced again both George and Bill in 1980 modified saloon championship, George Bevan was a wonderful guy, really friendly (I think I remember he was death or partially death and his son's often was with him to use sign language) My engine was build by Clive Brown who I think used to work for George, they were reasonably friendly, but rivals. 1980 was my first year of racing and was entered in the new Modified balloon championship running and building the car myself with no real budget. The class entered was the up 850cc class because thats the engine that it came with! During the first race at Snetterton Bill was also racing in my class it was raining and I was a bit worried about racing Bill however I managed to win the class and beat Bill who was a fair way behind in second. Bill was not happy he was making excuses etc, anyway we got to the next race and Bill had upgraded to the 1,000cc class and because there were more cars in his class and despite me winning all of my class races Bill won the championship due to more points being available with the higher number of cars in his class. I always thought of Bill ad an Icon and I also raced him in Renault 5 Turbos a few years later. I would love to get hold of my imp again, or a similar one to do some historic races if anyone can help locate one please get in touch.(I can provide photos of the Imp if requested)
I am so glad that this popped up on You Tube. I am a subscriber but I guess I missed this one somewhere along the line. I knew this collection existed as I was sitting in Pentland Land Rover Stirling waiting for an oil service to be done on my e-Pace and got chatting about cars and one of the breakdown truck drivers was eaves dropping on our conversation and when I mentioned my Mini JCW which I had 2 staged and Gyeon 5 yr coated after replacing brakes and reconditioned the alloys that was featured on Instagram he asked to view it then started talking about car collections he knew about. This collection was mentioned and another that I knew about from a friend who was a member of the Ford RS club. I found this video quite emotional as my late Dad was sold one of the very first Mk1 Escorts in Scotland by his neighbour(Hamish) also recently lost who had rallied in his youth and had opened a car workshop and Ford showroom and his daily driver was either his E Type or Lotus Cortina. I used to be taken to the Granite City Rally in the forests of Aberdeenshire by Hamish and his 2 boys which nurtured and cemented my love of fast cars and off road driving. Thanks to both of you for my trip down memory lane today.
That Mexico bought back some memories....I learnt to drive in a Mk1 Mexico (same colour scheme) with twin webber carbs...once the instructor felt safe we were allowed to wring it out occasionally....Great fun.
Watching this vid was a pleasure mate. The guy is a star, fair do's. I could walk around there for hours, days even just taking all that in. Cheers Johnny
Another amazing collection video. The murials are wonderful. These are the definition of hero cars for me too. As I get older, the supercar stuff kinda goes over my head. The engineering is great but they become so "out of it" as to be just caricatures of themselves. This is ther real stuff for me. Brilliant stuff Jonny. Thanks for yet another wonderfull half an hour. And many Thanks to Willie for allowing us to share his passion.
Stunning collection of some of the finest examples of escorts here, and other stunners . I used to also be a Rally Technician back in the day working for a privateer team building and working on them ! Just love the mk1 and Mk2 s, so so special ! Such a treat ! Thank-you for sharing Jonny ! Awesome 😎🙏👍
Just WOW! I'm nearly lost for words. Thank you so much Jonny & William. It's going to be very hard to top this Car Cave for classic Motor Sport Cars. 👍👍
What an epic car collection, loved the video. For a non native english speaker this Scottish lad is a bit hard to understand, but I guess it adds to the charm!
Love seeing a fellow Scot being able to fulfill dreams like this. My own collection would be very similar. Although I’d swap the Fiat for a period Vauxhall, but that’s because I served my time at a Vauxhall dealership and not a Fiat one like Wullie 😃 Looking forward to seeing more about that Avenger 🤩
It is heaven what an amazing collection of cars so glad he saved them I hope this collection stays together forever if he ever needs help sweeping the floor and keeping the place clean I'm your man . How amazing made my year
Man, that was brilliant, what a humble bloke with a car cave to crave for. Would be great if there was some way of Patrons getting the opportunity to see the car caves at certain times of the year, we'd pay of course. Just a thought...🎩
@Morean Hamilton Thank you, for the kind offer. If I'm over your neck of the woods, maybe I could bring my daughter's, my eldest is a rally car lover, especially fast fords and my youngest likes motorbikes, so something for us all to appreciate. I haven't been to Scotland for many a year, so would be a great excuse...😄
Dude, always great! But editing and production values just lift your content to a new level. Just awesome! Now I have to ask the wife about what she will want for me to get my next car 😝
Wow what a find this is truly amazing & stunning cars & a few decent bikes in there too carry on bringing us more treats like this one Johnny Boy Brilliant!! 👌🏻👍🏻
"Ultimate", strong word. Hardly does this wonder justice. An amazing collection and a wondrous venue. You are going to have to work hard to house that collection of yours having seen this.
That yellow Mexico is the most beautiful car I've seen in ages. There's a guy near me who has an orange Mexico and a black and white Opel Manta both mint. Love these cars.
There it was, the bevan imp, brings back so many memories of brands mallory and Silverstone, watching bill McGowan race that car, like Bill blidenstein and gerry marshalls vauxhalls they were virtually bomb proof, so reliable, great days
Thanks Jonny This is without doubt the best cave by miles nothing will beat it I'm sure and well for Willie what can I say what a top bloke down to earth all round knowledgeable guy with buckets of enthusiasm I'm sure his wife is just as proud even if she does collect horses well done you definitely smashed the glass ceiling on this episode hopefully you can find some more gems
Another very nice collection Jonny. Here in the Netherlands I can also occasionally visit private collections with a group of car enthusiasts via the KNAC, always worth it.
I'm not sure how to react Jonny . It's almost a folly but just proves that we all have different taste . The Bevan lmp was my favourite , exquisitely restored .Sthanks Jonny..

I did the same and my girlfriend ran in the front room thinking something was wrong 😆
LoL! My wife long ago stopped commenting on my viewing habits. She no longer says anything about my time 'wasted' on UA-cam, and I've learned not to reply.:)
Relegated to listening to car videos with a headset years ago....... happy wife, happy life.

Hey Jonny, we painted all the artwork and signwriting, it was a dream job from start to finish, just up the road from the house, Willie and Morean are top class, this video really shows place off well too, great job!
Frank, you did an incredible job. Glad it showed off your art - seriously impressive murals.
Top Job on the art work looks fantastic
Well smart mate talented man👍🏼
Looks amazing
Absolutely stunning work, Frank
Exquisite taste right here, one of the best presented collections I’ve seen. And way more interesting than any billionaire hypercar collection.
100% agree. There's no comparison between silly-money modern car collections and the pure enthusiasm & passion for real classic motoring gems as on display with Wullie and his excellent museum.
There is still a hell of lot of moneys worth of cars there ,way beyond most
Now this man has taste! , and credit to his wife for a brilliant idea of a showroom within a barn , great video as always Jonny 👌🏻
And his mrs helps out too with his passion. She’s obviously a keeper. Lol
Willie is wonderful (as is, clearly, Mrs.Hamilton), and your enjoyment, Jonny, is ours. Thank you!
We met Willie at the NEC Classic Car show recently, we didnt know about any of this and we were just talking cars when I said what have you got and he reeled of the list, mind blown!
Willie is a really lovely lovely guy and he said to us if we're ever in Scotland...
"Here are the cars Jonny", understatement of the year. They're not cars, they're pieces of rolling art

What a fantastic collection and a lovely guy. Great car cave video. Well done team .
Two minutes in and WOW! Best car cave so far buy a country míle. Johnny thank you so much for starting car caves. I'm actually envious enough that it is creating ambition within my soul to have such a space & collection. Now in with the rest of the video. 💯💥👏👏🔥🔥
Chuffed you are enjoying the Car Caves Sean. Keep aspiring. I do...
What a collection. As much as I love Mk2 Escorts, as legendary as the GT40 is and even an F1, for me the cherry on top was that 131 Mirafiori. Only ever saw 2 (street versions) in my life . Probably the greatest, although that's my British bias coming in. Certainly gone too soon the man was a legend.
Bickets Fiat was legendary in Kilmarnock, remember his stash of Fiat 130 coupe parts as well as a stinky 124 that milk was spilt in!
Wow. Willie's amazing museum immediately reminded of the amazing surprise of seeing Giles Villeneuve's and Kimi Raikkonen's F1 cars while on a tour of the Giacobazzi lambrusco cantina in Modena. One of the best car caves so far. The guy’s enthusiasm shines through. His eclectic taste makes for a great cave
Wow Wow Wow what a place absolutely blown away thanks for the video Jonny and mega thanks to Wullie for sharing - top guy.

Such a cool collection, and any excuse to sing the praises of the absolute legends that are Jim Clark and Walter Rohrl is good with me.

Beautifully crafted garden shed! With an astonishing collection of lawnmowers! I trust you left a LBS sticker for the front door, Jonny?
Excellent Wullie and Morean..I knew it was good... but I didn't know it was this good... would love to come and see it sometime...
Fantastic place. I like your genuine interest and fascination in the cars when you visit these collections. Thank you!

My eyes have just popped out on springs! An amazing car cave. Great mixture of vehicles
Willy comes across as a lovely guy. That garage really is the dream. Congratulations on the collection and best wishes.
I think this is one of the most tastefully executed private car collections I have ever seen.
Unbelievable collection and only 10mins up the road . What a humble guy by the sounds of Willie
Awesome 😎🙏👍
I'm a Yank with some Scott heritage -- the Clan Douglas -- so it's nice to to see a fellow Scott car guy with a nice collection. :)
Wow! That's next level stuff. Good on him!
You and Wullie would get on well I reckon. I think you ought to see his 131 Abarth.
@@TheLateBrakeShow He's such a nice bloke I'm sure >90% of your audience would get on with him
Smiled all the way through that Jonny , just amazing what's out there!
Just WOW! I'm nearly lost for words. Thank you so much Jonny & William. It's going to be very hard to top this Car Cave for classic Motor Sport Cars. 👍👍
Willie has seriously good taste! I watched this nodding my head and saying "Yeah" all the way through! Thanks Willie and Jonny
What an epic car collection, loved the video. For a non native english speaker this Scottish lad is a bit hard to understand, but I guess it adds to the charm!
The montage at 1:30.....Holy Cr@p. What a collection, This made my day. Thank You LBS
This put me over the top, just joined your Patreon
Two lovely chaps getting excited about cars. Doesn't get much better.
... what a delight! Real wobbly tummy moments from beginning to end. Thanks for the fabulous content beautifully presented.
Love seeing a fellow Scot being able to fulfill dreams like this.
My own collection would be very similar. Although I’d swap the Fiat for a period Vauxhall, but that’s because I served my time at a Vauxhall dealership and not a Fiat one like Wullie 😃
Looking forward to seeing more about that Avenger 🤩
That 131 is epic!
It is heaven what an amazing collection of cars so glad he saved them I hope this collection stays together forever if he ever needs help sweeping the floor and keeping the place clean I'm your man .
How amazing made my year
This is ‘absolutely’ one of the best episodes I’ve watched. What a collection!!! Well done Jonny.
Yep!
Man, that was brilliant, what a humble bloke with a car cave to crave for. Would be great if there was some way of Patrons getting the opportunity to see the car caves at certain times of the year, we'd pay of course. Just a thought...🎩
Chris if you ever find yourself in the West of Scotland - look us up :)
@@moreanhamilton948 I'm not far from Kilmarnock! Might need to come see you and Wullie
@Morean Hamilton
Thank you, for the kind offer.
If I'm over your neck of the woods, maybe I could bring my daughter's, my eldest is a rally car lover, especially fast fords and my youngest likes motorbikes, so something for us all to appreciate.
I haven't been to Scotland for many a year, so would be a great excuse...😄
Wow! one word, COOL, thank you to you both.
Just when I thought the content couldn't get any better! Johnny keep them coming
Dude, always great! But editing and production values just lift your content to a new level. Just awesome!
Now I have to ask the wife about what she will want for me to get my next car 😝
Ohhhh, that Abarth 131 was just glorious!! Superb episode Johnny, probably the best car cave yet! Great work.
Stunning, you had me with the Mexico, but then the GT40 and an F1 car. What a garage. There's a triumph too so clearly impeccable taste.
Wow! I had a T reg Mk2 1300 sport in exactly the same colour as that Mexico, even down to the spotters on the front!
What a fantastic collection!👍😊👏👏👏
Wow what a find this is truly amazing & stunning cars & a few decent bikes in there too carry on bringing us more treats like this one Johnny Boy Brilliant!! 👌🏻👍🏻
Cheers for watching Dave 👌🏽
I'm not normally a jealous person. What a collection and building. Simply stunning.
"Ultimate", strong word. Hardly does this wonder justice. An amazing collection and a wondrous venue. You are going to have to work hard to house that collection of yours having seen this.
Double blimey. What a collection. Looking forward to the close up on the Avenger
wow - a very special episode! Wullie's patronage of the skills required to create each element of his collection is great to see.
Thank God for people like Willy, and thanks for filming it for us Johnny.
Thank you for sharing your cars with us Wullie! What a great collection!
Awesome video and content. The verity and quality of the cars is just amazing. Thank you both for sharing the cave with us. 👍👍
The GT 40 is spot on. The whole collection is stunning
A car cave to die for!
Phenomenal production. Immersion and editing make you feel you're there with you. Fantastic.
Thanks Jonny
This is without doubt the best cave by miles nothing will beat it I'm sure and well for Willie what can I say what a top bloke down to earth all round knowledgeable guy with buckets of enthusiasm I'm sure his wife is just as proud even if she does collect horses well done you definitely smashed the glass ceiling on this episode hopefully you can find some more gems
Another very nice collection Jonny. Here in the Netherlands I can also occasionally visit private collections with a group of car enthusiasts via the KNAC, always worth it.
Fantastic collection there jonny! More of this kind of video please. That is a dream collection and man cave for me right there!
Awesome to see a bit different garage than these "hyper mega super cars" garages. Thanks!
Oh yes! Great to see someone from near my home with such an amassing collection.
That 131 is stunning. I had a strada 130tc when I was younger. Great engine the 2l twin cam. The car just rusted away though.
Another great vid from Jonny, and one of his most enjoyable so far. Fabulous collection of cars and such a nice, unassuming owner.
I'm not sure how to react Jonny . It's almost a folly but just proves that we all have different taste . The Bevan lmp was my favourite , exquisitely restored .Sthanks Jonny..
I knew he was in construction. That's the story for many self made collectors. Well done mate, great taste.
Such a lovely collection and how he puts it all on display... for himself (and probably his wife) to enjoy looking at.
Got to be one of scotlands greatest car collections....Mcrae collection contender! Amazing video 👍
Great episode Jonny. Wonderful collection. Hope we can soon learn about the 2door Avenger!!
