- Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle perform "Joy" at the Farm Aid concert in Seattle, Washington on September 18, 2004.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
Austin city limit version blows that performance away never knew why she parted ways with her old band. Kenny Vaughn and John Jackson were fire.
The coolest thing in this version is Mickey Raphael sitting in and adding a lot, but I agree, the Austin city limits version smokes this.
She's my favorite entertainer on the planet and her beautiful voice is why I love country rock still playing it in 2022
Oh wow this is SO GOOD!!!
STEVE EARLE IS MY FAVORITE!!!!! HE'S AWESOME
Tight!
thanks for the upload, always looking for versions of this song
Still a great political song in 2020! 🤘❤
As long as the choice at the electoral level is between the democrats and the republicans there can be no joy or justice.
Perfect for the Harris campaign
Painful to even listen to her.
Then why are you even here?
as they say, you got a hole in your soul
honestly agree. good song but her voice is nails on a chalkboard
Well turn your ears on
