I missed the whole Lucinda Williams wave, had heard the name, had heard some songs, but after finding Emmylou's wrecking ball album was following her. Then I found the sweet world video, and a concert by Lucinda in Clearwater this January. Gosh what a talent. I am forever a fan now.
Same path for me, except her songwriters Starbuck collection, which had her favourite artists songs. Gave insight into her mind. A lotta sad, but stellar stuff. I also think Wrecking Ball is one of Emmylou's best.
This wonderful lady Lucinda must have made her dad Miller so proud. Poetry runs in her veins and her voice is hers only. Love her so much. And with Emmylou! And throw in Neil! Yikes..... A treat and an honor.
I just loved hearing Lucinda, Emmylou and Neil creating a magical moment to see us into 2023. 🥰🌹🌈 thank you so much for posting, and I wish anyone here a healthy, happy and PEACEFUL new year. We need it badly!👵
Lucinda is one of those artists, much like Nanci Griffith amongst many others, who is respected by other musicians because of her talent and individuality. She is 70 years old now and still has that fire. One of a kind. Thank you, Lucinda, for the music and for sharing it with those fortunate enough to hear it!
No offense Jack but you’ve apparently been “holding your own” too long, to realize that, despite the ethereal vocal and physical beauty of Emmylou, she is a supporting piece for the generational talents of Lucinda. I’m having fun at your expense (sorry) but I’m just resetting the hierarchy here…
Yes, I love to see the older musicians helping out the new comers. DANG, EMY LOU'S STILL GOT IT... OF COURSE I'LL LOVE NEIL FOREVER. HIS 1 OF MY FAVORITES.
I met her after a concert she and Rosanne Cash had performed in Central Park. I asked if I could give her a hug, like a dopey fan and she said, "Sure, why not?" This was many years ago, before cell phones.
I somewhat disagree with her singing, she needs studio clean up but who the hell cares? When Lucinda sings you are stopped in your tracks. No I am not alright, but it's ok 2b not ok as long as you don't become a drunken angel bout it.. Neil never could sing. Emmylou is the singer here. But songwriting yes to the 3 amigos
Have always loved 🥰 Lucinda Williams, saw her twice before, she didn’t disappoint me! What a vocalist-song writer who’s lyrics dig deep into your soul…& ❤…
Musicians from the 70’s frequently collaborated and created the best music. When they met an artist they admired they wanted to work with them, more than compete against them. These collaborative relationships created music like this. Not as much of that these days.
I spent the summers of my youth with family that lived in Greenville, my uncle (his father & grandfather built a lot in downtown Greenville) was the contractor for the re-opening of the Texan Theater.
Don't wanna see you again or hold your hand 'Cause you don't really love me, you're not my man You're not my man, oh you're not my man Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville You scream and shout and you make a scene When you open your mouth you never say what you mean Say what you mean, oh say what you mean Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville You drink hard liquor, you come on strong You lose your temper someone looks at you wrong Looks at you wrong, oh looks at you wrong Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville Out all night playin in a band Looking for a fight with a guitar in your hand A guitar in your hand, oh a guitar in your hand Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville Empty bottles and broken glass Busted down doors and borrowed cash Borrowed cash, oh the borrowed cash Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville Looking for someone to save you Looking for someone to rave about you To rave about you, oh to rave about you Go back to Greenville, just go on back to Greenville
I’m originally from Greenville, Mississippi. There’s a Greenville, Texas, too. She’s from Lake Charles, originally, (I think). But she bounced all over the Gulf South, so I’ve always been curious as to which Greenville she’s singing about.
Seen her so fockin lucky in Australia Feel like a hundred years as I’m no hearing much good writing lately now from future gens Could be me as I’m much more deaf a bit and tired But I love Lucinda Williams and her teams whom see equally as the star she is Cheers from Georgie Australia Hotel Melbourne

Emmylou’s harmonies are perfect for this song and make it even better. She and Lucinda have a lot of history together from Emmylou’s heart wrenching version of “Sweet Old World” to her harmonies on many of Lucinda’s best cuts. Now I like Neil Young but what did he add? With Jim Lauderdale and Greg Leisz on stage I don’t think Neil’s guitar was even above 50% in the mix. Greg did the little solo that I thought might be Neil at first.
Lucinda is already so ridiculous, it is hard to imagine Emmylou singing with her. Until you hear it. Separated at birth, in some ways, for soulfulness.
Lucinda Williams is an American treasure.
Cars on a Gravel Road is one of the Top CDs of all time.
I have it and totally, agree 💯%, saw Lucinda 2x’s in Tulsa, OK 🇺🇸, she was wonderful

Lucinda Williams holds her own, but having Emmylou with her on stage is beyond special. Neil Young is the icing 9n this cake

emmy lou. what a timeless beauty
3 brilliant performers EmmyLou is the queen of harmony. You instantly know it's her.
Anyone who can harmonize with Bob Dylan and Neil Young is aces in my book!
I live in New England. It took a long time for me to get the message out up here about Lucinda. Fortunately the music sells itself. Bigly
So good to hear 3 greats together on Lucinda's moving song.

Lucinda is so fully present here. Love singing harmony to this in my car...
What a great woman, what a brilliant songwriter/storyteller, what a top-quality and rare singer and her name is Lucinda Williams

Absolutely sensational. Three all time legends
Emmylou really peaked in the 90's. gorgeous in and out. voice like and angel.
One oof the best songs Lucinda has written
That is high praise because she has written a LOT of great songs.
This just brought forth a gigantic smile across my old face.

Well said!❤
I simply love this beautiful song.
Oh man I am loving this! Besides the legends here, I live in Greenville and this song really grabs me!

Its the calm calm way she sings it . . .
Wow, that is a treasure. Beautiful.
Oh Emmy🎅🏻😎🎼🌋💐Lucinda. Dolly can’t hold a 🕯 to y’all
2 of my fave female artists. I bought quarter moon in a 10 cent town when i 13. I learned word in one day. Lucinda is just amazing.di ❤.
She's a gem.
I was born in Greenville (South Carolina) I think there’s a Greenville in every state in the South!
I’m originally from Greenville, Mississippi. There’s a Greenville, Texas, too. She’s from Lake Charles, originally, (I think). But she bounced all over the Gulf South, so I’ve always been curious as to which Greenville she’s singing about.
Superb version!
Beautiful entertaining performance💐
Oh My GOD
I agree.
Bought a t/shirt at one of Lucinda’s shows. It says “Blessed” all over it/rows and rows, just perfect! ❤
As we see, real talent, artistry does not need smoke and mirrors
I have a funny feeling all three of these folks have used plenty of smoke and mirrors in and around the artistry.
Doesn’t get much better
Emmy Lou can add more to any song.
Lucindas voice is absolutely killing me.
But Emmylou’s voice is healing.
Lucinda speaks to my heart everytime she sings.
A true southern accent, gorgeous
Great moments captured.....Thanks GHOSTS...Jackieblue(L.A.)✌

And Emmy Lou Harris will be harmonizing with you. Not bad.
This is from a while ago, looks close to Car Wheels time.
Bridge School Benefit 1999...
Neil always looks like he really needs a piss 😂

cant hear neil.
it's a feature, not a bug (i'm a huge neil fan btw)
Yes, of course, but how many acoustic guitars do we need in one band? (Hint: it's not a light-bulb joke.)
If she knew how to share stage this could have been a major hit
I hope Neil Young will remember, a Southern Man doesn't need him 'round anyhow...
